Charlie was sitting in class, dreading existence. Everyone else in his class was either talking to each other or semi doing the work. Charlie on the other hand was thinking about why he even bothered showing up. See Charlie was an extremely gifted child, he already knew everything his school had to teach. He was only there because it was better than home. See Charlie didn't have the best life, not that anybody noticed him enough to see that. He was bullied and ridiculed at school, and his home wasn't any better. Charlie had an abusive mother and a neglectful father. So, Charlie used his big brain for one second and decided that he should just find a hidden place to hang out and work on things. Charlie decided that he would go secret hideout hunting after school that day.

The bell rang and Charlie all but bolted out of the building, he had spent the whole day thinking of spots he could check out. After about an hour and a half, Charlie found it. The perfect spot, it was an abandoned building.

He checked out the whole building, and found the secret hideout jackpot. It was an all-concrete building, with benches, and tools that were left behind that nobody had come back for. It had an almost perfect boxing ring and some workout equipment. It also had a computer and some monitors. He very quickly settled in, getting comfy in a chair and logging into the computers. See the one thing Charlie liked doing was building things. His day only got better when he discovered a scrap metal yard just outside his window.

After a quick raid of the yard and a quick thought, he had settled on what his next project would be. He would make a robot companion. Charlie very quickly got to work. He set up a wielding table, and a different table for the hard drives, and of course he had a table for the coding part.

Charlie is in the middle of trying to solve a programming issue with the voice function when he realises seeing is getting harder, its almost like the light is slowly going out. After a small fit of rage Charlie realises that its getting dark cause the suns going down. Oh, Shit the suns going down. Charlie rushed to get his stuff. If his parents would kill him over anything, it was his curfew. He had to be home before the sun went down, and the house had to be spotless before 7pm. Luckily Charlie was surprisingly fast and athletic. For a nerd.

After a while Charlie had a solid routine, go to school, wait for school to end, run to his hideout, work on his campion then run home and clean before he gets yelled at.

Soon Charlie stated to see them, the shadow people. At first, he was scared but then he realised they made great company. He grew to like the company of the shadows, he found himself looking forward to it.

Charlie noticed people started looking at him stranger, keeping a little bit of space between them. His bullies backed off and even his parents didn't get violent all so much.

What Charlie failed to realise was that the shadow people weren't just a figment of his imagination that he could talk to, they were things. And they started to change Charlie without him even realising.

He grew jumpier, which is saying something. His eyes became more of a black blob then a pupil. His voice became less of a voice and more of a whisper of warning whenever he spoke. He would just spend hours starring at the walls or even sometimes at people.

He began doing things that made even the weird or dark kids worried. Until one day, the jock of the school (you know that one jock who is just a shit guy) was picking on some new kid. Ans this was something Charlie was not on board with. He would normally keep to himself and mind his own business, but today something snapped in him today.

Jack (the jock cause of cause that's his name) was mocking this kid on his stutter, when Charlie got up. This action got immediate notice, most scared of what was going to happen.

Charlie stalked his way over to jack, who was standing in the middle of the room. As he walked the voices told him to do it, just do it. Charlie took this as an opportunity and took a pencil off a nearby desk and used it to stab Jack in the arm. Jack started screaming, along with many others in the class.

But this didn't affect Charlie's plan, he continues, grabbing Jacks bleeding arm. While looking into Jacks eyes, reached his lanky pale fingers into Jacks arm, only to grab his veins and pull them out. With the missing veins, Jacks arm began to bleed more, and he quickly passed out. Charlie, still holding the veins, turned to the kid Jack was bulling and showed him a teethy smile, but only his mouth moved, there was no real expressions on Charlie's face.
