Watching the Movie
It has been a few months since the Ninja fought the Hands of Time and they've been spending their time trying to find Master Wu after he disappeared through a Time Vortex and being lost in time as the Ninja looked day and night all over Ninjago to find their Sensei.
Lloyd was looking over the Destiny's Bounty deep in thought wondering where his Uncle was. "Don't worry Uncle Wu, we will find you, that's a promise." He said in thought not noticing that someone was approaching him from behind.
"Still worried about your uncle?" Melissa's voice spoke up, which made Lloyd jump in startled, not expecting his girlfriend to be behind him
"Melissa, sorry, I wasn't expecting you to be out here." Lloyd told her before looking over the Bounty again. "It's just… it's almost been three months since we fought Acronix and Krux and my uncle's disappearance, I just… I know I've been put in charge of the team until we find him but… I-I don't know if I can handle it."
Melissa frowned, seeing her boyfriend feeling so much weight on his shoulder while also having lost another of his family members as she walked up and hugged Lloyd from behind. "It's okay, Lloyd. The loss of Wu has affected all of us." She said as she looked up to him. "But we know that he's still alive. Even if he did beat Krux and Acronix, he would've been dropped at any point in time, whether in the future or sometime in the past, we'll find him someday. But until then, we keep looking." She said with a soft smile.
Lloyd thought about it and realized that his girlfriend is right and that they will find his Uncle someday, he and Melissa then shared a small kiss before Lloyd looked her in the eyes. "Thanks, Melissa. And you're right, we will find my uncle someday, it may not be tomorrow or the day after but we will find him." He said with a smile.
"That's the Lloyd I know and love." Melissa said with a smile. "Now come on Jay said that he wants to show us something."
"Is it another video game or another complaint?" Lloyd questioned, which made Melissa giggled.
"Heh, good one. But to be honest, I don't know but he says it's very important." Melissa said with a shrug. "He wanted all of us to hear it. Saying that it's big."
"Mmm, if Jay didn't say what it was and wanted all of us together, then it's gotta be important." Lloyd said with a shrug. "Okay, let's go below deck and see what this is about."
Lloyd and Melissa then went inside the Bounty only to see Jay super hyped about something while Kai, Cole, Zane and Nya were confused about what's gotten Jay so excited about.
"About time, you lovebirds." Kai said with a smirk.
"Were you guys making out again or is it something else you two were doing?" Cole teased.
"Ha-ha, very funny, Cole." Melissa said with a light blush while Lloyd looked embarrassed. "And no, not like that."
"Not yet it isn't." Nya chuckled.
"Watch it sister, you're already in that category with Jay." Melissa said with a smirk.
"Ha! She's got you there, sis." Kai said with a small laugh, while Nya and Jay blushed while Nya glared at her brother.
"All jokes aside, what did you want to show us Jay?" Zane asked, getting back on topic.
"Okay, as you all know, we've been searching for Master Wu for almost three months now, right?" Jay asked with a smirk as they all nodded. "And I figured we've been working too hard, so how about we have a short break by watching a movie before getting back to the search?"
"That depends on what kind of movie." Cole told him. "It's not another Fritz Donnegan Movie, is it?"
"Nope. This one is something better." Jay said with a smirk. "They have made a movie about us!" He cheered, which surprised the others.
"Wait, wait, wait. They made a movie about us?" Kai asked in surprise.
"How come we haven't heard of this?" Lloyd asked.
"It hasn't been released yet." Jay said with a smirk. "It won't be available for another month or so."
"Then how are we supposed to watch this movie if it's not out yet?" Melissa asked.
"That's where you're wrong, Melissa." Jay said with a smirk as he held up a DVD disk. "The production crew decided to give us a copy of the movie early before it was released! As a gratitude for saving Ninjago every now and then."
"Okay now that sounds way better than another stupid Fritz Donnegan Movie." Cole said with a smile.
"Well, what's the movie about us about?" Zane asked.
"If I tell you, you guys wouldn't watch it." Jay said with a smirk. "But here's a kicker, it's mostly about Lloyd and Garmadon, in a different sort of way."
"Me and my dad?" Lloyd repeated in shock.
"Yeah." Jay nodded. "And a heads up, the characters who acted like us, might have a different look or voice, and a bit different with some similarities, but hey, it's a movie. But let's watch it!"
"Hope they captured my good side." Kai said with a smirk.
"Well what are we waiting for, let's watch this movie!" Nya exclaimed in excitement.
"Play the movie Jay." Melissa told him as Jay rushed up to the DVD player and inserted the movie and pressed play as the Ninja all crowded around to watch the movie.
At the fishing grounds, a fisherman brought a crab hook to a line as the sun rose. "Today on Good Morning Ninjago!" A man announced it as everyone on the river all said 'Good Morning Ninjago' in different languages.
"Buenos dias, Ninjago!" A boater said.
"Ohayō, Ninjago!" Another boater said.
"G'day, Ninjago!" A Scottish boater said.
"Guten morgen, Ninjago!" A German boater said.
"Bonjour, Ninjago!" A French boater said.
The scene cuts to people wearing shark suits and having mechs and ships based on sharks as explosions were made as the people ran for their lives.
"When Garmadon attacks…" The man said before revealing to be Lord Garmadon, who wears black samurai armor and a towering horned helmet that makes him appear taller than he really is. He has black skin, four arms, red glowing eyes, a demonic, fanged smile, a Black Gi with a blue sash underneath his armor, and a blue robe-like garment as he gave an evil laugh. "WE. ARE. THERE."
The scene then changed to people on their phones and screens of ratings. "When Garmadon crashes the stock market, we're there again!" He said after some chaos and crumbling happened on the roof before the scene changed to a museum where Garmadon's face appeared.
"When Garmadon defaces Whistler's mother... we're still there!" Then the scene changed to flying vehicles diving into the water to a volcano island before the scene montage to Ninjago City. "We are the only news team watching Garmadon's volcanic lair 24 hours a day. This is…"
"Good Morning Ninjago." A woman said as the news crew moved the screen to show the two people. "I'm Robin Robets." The woman said.
"And I'm Michael Strahan." The man said with a smile. "And I am pumped to be bringing you the News."
"PUMPED!" The words appeared.
"Woo!" Michael cheered as the scene turned to Robin as it showed a screen of Garmadon's face.
"Well, looks like everyone is on pins and needles waiting for Garmadon's next attack." Robin said with a natural smile.
"ATTACK FORECAST!" The words said again as it showed a map of Ninjago.
"Our experts predict a 95 percent chance of a Garmadon attack today." Michael explained.
"Yikes! Ninjago, you better stay inside." Robin said before the screen appeared of people leaving the building before it was rewinded.
"You better stay right there! Don't you dare come out!" Michael said with a smirk before seven mechs appeared on another scene. "At least until our Secret Ninja Force steps in."
"Thank goodness for those Ninjas." Robin said with a smirk before the seven Ninja Force appeared.
"But who are these Secret Ninjas, Robin?" Micheal asked.
"We have so many questions." Robin said with a shrug before another screen appeared.
"BURNING QUESTIONS!"
The scene then showed a Red Ninja with his Flamethrower Mech. "Fire Ninja. Where is he on a scale of one to awesome?" A man said as he shot some flamethrowers
"I'm not gonna lie. I'm... AWESOME!" The Fire Ninja exclaimed before the scene changed to the Black Ninja on his Earth Pounding Fech.
"Earth Ninja." The man said as the Earth Ninja placed a disk on a record player. "When will he upgrade to digital?"
"No, I would never do that." The Earth Ninja said as he played a track that created a soundwave that knocked his enemies away before the scene turned to a White Ninja with an icer tank
"Ice Ninja. Is he a real boy, or a robot?" The man said as the Ice Ninja fired his Ice Mech.
"How dare you? I'm a wild teen." The Ice Ninja said in a robotic voice before the scene changes to the Blue Ninja with a Flying Lightning Mech.
"Lightning Ninja. Is he the bravest Ninja of them all?" The Man said as the Lightning Ninja screamed as he was being attacked by enemies. "I'll take that as a yes."
The scene changed to a Grey and Cyan Ninja and her Spider Mech. "Water Ninja. She's a girl and a Ninja. Can she really have it all?" The man asked as the Water Ninja shot some water while her mech was in the river.
"You fellas need to inform yourselves... of where we're at culturally." The Water Ninja said as she fired some water shots, taking out an enemy.
"And let's not forget about their Yin and Yang leaders, starting with The Green Ninja of Yang." The man said as it showed the Green Ninja on his Green Dragon Mech. "He fights in the air, on the ground and in the kitchen, with a refrigerator." He listed out as the Green Ninja took out the villains on their flying vehicles, then on the rooftop, and then in a kitchen holding a baby while using the fridge to defeat them. "But what is he hiding, and who is he really?"
"And last but not least, The Purple Ninja of Yin." The man said as it showed the Purple Ninja while flying on a Purple Dragon Mech while flying next to the Green Ninja as they took out their enemies with ease, as if they fought as one. "She's second in command and loyal partner to the Green Ninja of Yang and when they fight together they are unstoppable. But are they just partners or is there something else going on between them?" The man questioned
"LOCAL BIRTHDAYS!"
"Celebrating Birthdays today are this hot dog guy, this panda and…" Robin listed out while showing a man wearing a hot dog costume, a panda, and then showed a Shaggy blond cut hairstyle, wearing a green jacket and having green eyes. "Uh oh. Lloyd Garmadon!
"The son of the evil Lord Garmadon." Michael explained as Garmadon's laughter was heard as the camera zoomed in on Lloyd.
"Must be tough to be that kid." Robin said with a cringe, knowing that being the son of the dark lord doesn't work on the public of Ninjago.
As the morning sun shines on Ninjago City, at an apartment, Lloyd was sleeping in his bed before his phone rang, stirring him away. "Jump up, kick back, whip around and spin! And then we jump back, do it again!" Lloyd picked up his phone, seeing that it was an unknown number. "Ninja! GO! Ninja! G-" Lloyd then answers the call.
"Hello?" Lloyd asked before he heard munching sounds, revealing to be Garmadon eating a cereal.
"Hello?" Garmadon asked, to which Lloyd was surprised that it was his father. "What do you want?"
"Uh... you called me." Lloyd said with a brow.
"Hang on a second. Let me-" Garmadon said as he looked at his phone. "Hm. Must've butt-dialed you. Who is this?"
Lloyd gave a sigh "It's Lloyd." He answered as Garmadon looked at him closely in confusion. "Lloyd Garmadon, your son?" He reminded him with a sigh.
"No. my son is totally bald and has no teeth." Garmadon said to him while eating more cereal.
"Yeah, well, surprise. I'm not a baby anymore." Lloyd said with a dull look that his father only knew him as a baby.
"Duly noted." Garmadon nodded. "How old are you? You're seven, right, you're seven?"
"Sixteen." Lloyd told him with an eye roll. "Just add nine to that." He muttered.
"Well, good talk son." Garmadon said as he was about to hang up.
"Wait, are you sure there isn't a special reason why you might've called me today, on this day, specifically, todaaaaay?" Lloyd started slowly, hoping that his father would at least remember his birthday.
"Look, I didn't call you, my butt called you." Garmadon said to him.
"Oh." Lloyd said in disappointment.
"Well, no time to chat." Garmadon said with a smile. "Sorry, dad has gotta go to work. I've got to get those Ninjas of Yin and Yang."
"Yeah." Lloyd said with a rolled of his eyes.
"Glad the teeth finally came in. Buh bye." Garmadon said before hanging up.
Lloyd laid down on his bed with a sigh and he was about to get up when he heard his phone buzz and he looked and saw that it was a message.
"Happy Birthday Lloyd, I'll see you at School." Lloyd looked at the name the text sent to him as he saw it was from Melissa Zhau, which made Lloyd smile.
"At least someone gets to say it to me." Lloyd said with a small smile.
"Lloooyd! Good mooorniiiing!" Lloyd's mother, Koko, who has orange hair, wears orange lipstick, and is mostly clad in clothing. She is also shown to wear brown pants, rather than the blue one, said happily to her son as she put her phone, comb, and a croissant in her purse.
"Mom, hey." Lloyd said while washing his bowl. "Um, here's a thought. What if I didn't go to School today?" He suggested with a smile.
"What? Oh, no, you don't want to miss School, honey." Koko said to her son with a smile. "These are the best years of your life!"
"Um, have you, have you been... to High School?" Lloyd asked his mother with an uncomfortable look. "Cause uh. It's judgy. Pretty judgy." He commented.
"Oh, honey. You just need to give them a chance to see the real you." Koko assured him with a soft smile.
"Yeah. I don't think I can actually show people the real... me." Lloyd said with a frown, knowing that he has a secret that he can't show everyone, let alone his mother.
"That's not true. All you've got to do is to show them the person you are on the inside." Koko said as she touched Lloyd's heart. "Right here, where it matters most." She said as Lloyd smiled at her mother, feeling touched by her words. "Oh! And also, don't forget: if your dad attacks the city again today, just be sure to-"
"Duck and cover until the Secret Ninjas give the all-clear." Both mother and son said in unison while Lloyd gave a knowing smile as he was about to walk out, but Koko stopped him.
"Oh, and also don't forget…" Koko added.
"Yeah?" Lloyd asked as he turned back to her.
Koko smiled at her son. "Have a Happy Birthday, honey." She said as she kissed Lloyd's cheek.
"Thanks mom." Lloyd said as he wiped his cheek "I'll try my best." He said as he walked off.
"Of course you will!" Koko cheered with a smile.
Soon, Lloyd walked up to the bus stop where he saw other students waiting for the bus. "Hello." Lloyd greeted, but then the students quickly took out their phones as they texted about Lloyd in a negative way as Lloyd just gave a smile.
The bus arrived as some children were playing around, but when Lloyd got on, they all stopped when they saw him as they all took their seats and gave Lloyd a look, as Lloyd gave a sheepish look. "Hey." Lloyd said awkwardly as he took his seat, but then he turned and saw everyone sitting at the left side of the bus. "Cool." He said before he looked out the window before he frowned from this as the bus was a bit slower because of the heavy weight on the left side.
Soon, the bus made it to Ninjago City High School as everyone exited the bus as Lloyd was the last one out. Everyone stood quiet when they saw Lloyd as he walked by them.
"That's the kid I was telling you about. His dad ruins everything." A girl whispered to her friend as Lloyd kept walking before a boy walked next to him.
"Hello fellow teenager," A boy with white hair, blue eyes with white hair said in a robotic voice, which Lloyd smiled.
"Zane, hey." Lloyd said with a smile at seeing one of his friends.
"Man, my mom is on my case all the time." Zane said with a frown. "She's all…" He then made fax machine sounds while making an intimidation of a mother scolding her son while Lloyd gave a sheepish look since everyone was watching strangely, and it wasn't just him this time since Zane is a robot. "And I'm like, 'Lay off, mom. I'm just a teenager.'"
"I hear that." Lloyd said awkwardly as the bell rang and they entered the school, still seeing some students inside as a boy with spiky hair, a red jacket, and a band-aid on the left side of his face saw them.
"Bro!" The man called with a smile as he walked up to them. "Dude, give me a hug, man. Give me a Birthday hug!" He cheered as he went up to Lloyd.
"Kai, hey." Lloyd greeted, as Kai gave him a strong hug. "That's a good one." He said with a strained smile.
"Birthday hug?" Zane asked with a smile. "Let me get in on that." He said as he walked up to the hug, which Kai nodded, but Lloyd was uneasy.
"Zane…" Lloyd started as Zane wrapped his arms around them.
"I'll increase the pressure dramatically." Zane said with a smile.
"Zane! Zane! Zane!" Lloyd cried out frantically before Zane squeezed them in his hug, which Kai gave a smile while Lloyd was being squished in between them.
"Woo-hoo!" A girl with punk clothing and a ponytail drove in on her motorcycle before skidding to a stop next to the three boys. "Ahaha, Lloyd!" She greeted him with a smile.
"Hey Nya." Lloyd greeted.
"Yo, bro." Nya greeted him back.
"What's up, sis?" Kai greeted her with a smile.
"Oh, hey, actual bro." Nya said with a smirk as two boys, one boy holding a boombox and had black eyes, bushy eyebrows and long black hair, and a boy wearing an orange scarf had freckles and had big bushy brown hair.
"H-Hey, Nya." The boy in blue greeted nervously. "Where'd you get that bike? At the… Great Stuff Store?" He asked nervously.
"Guys, check out my new paint job. 'Cause I did it myself!" Nya cheered as she gestured to the paint job on her bike as it showed a lady warrior's face with orange hair. "The Lady Iron Dragon. My hero!" She cheered.
"Hey, everyone, look." A boy said as the group turned and saw a man with two cheerleaders holding cheering props. "It's Garma-Dork and the dorks squad." He taunted with a smirk. "You wanna hear our new cheer?"
"L-L-O-Y-D. His dad is bad and so is he." The boy and the cheerleaders said as they did some stances. "Boo Lloyd. Boo Lloyd."
"BOO LLOYD!" The boy finished with a shout and a look towards Lloyd.
"Great chant Chad." Lloyd said with a strained smile. "I hope you got a number one hit on your hands."
"Oh, we do. it's a hit on the radio." Chad said with a smirk.
"Messing with my best friend again, Chad?" A female voice spoke up as Chad and the two cheerleaders flinched as they turned and saw a teenage girl who had blue eyes and long red hair with black at the end and she was wearing a purple shirt with shoulderless sleeves and blue jeans glaring at them. "I thought I'd told you and your little girlfriends not to mess with him."
"Oh, we're not, Melissa." Chad said with a smirk. "We were only showing him our new cheer."
"Oh really? Cause I'm pretty sure I heard you doing that stupid chant again." Melissa said with a glare. "And on his Birthday? That's a low blow."
"Uh, okay." Chad said with a nervous look. "Yeah, I guess we did."
"This is your only warning Chad, leave Lloyd alone or else it's not gonna be Garmadon that you need to be worried about." Melissa threatened with a deadly glare.
"Eh, okay. Okay. We'll just… go." Chad said as he and the two cheerleaders rushed off as Melissa watched them run off with a sigh.
Melissa then turned to her friends. "Sorry you all had to see that." She apologized with a small smile.
"Nah, Melissa. It's cool." Kai assured her with a smile.
"From what we can tell, they had it coming." The boy with the boombox said with a smile.
"Trust me, Cole. They deserve more than what I just did." Melissa said before turning to Lloyd with a smile. "And don't think I'm not gonna give my number 1 best friend a Happy Birthday." She added.
"Hi, Melissa." Lloyd said with a small smile while trying to find the right words. "T-Thanks for what you did back there."
"Hey, anything to the boy who helped me get over my shyness back in kindergarten." Melissa said, giving him a wink, which made Lloyd chuckled and had a light blush, which Melissa didn't notice but the other's did.
Just then Melissa's phone buzzed and she checked who it's from. "It's my moms, they are calling to check on me, I'll be right back guys." She told them as she walked off to answer her phone.
Lloyd watched her go with a fond smile as he sighed, to which the moment was broken when Kai spoke up. "Bro, you have got it bad for her." He said with a smirk.
"My brother is right, Lloyd. You definitely have a thing with her." Nya said with a teasing look.
"Ah, guys. We've been through this." Lloyd said as he turned to them with a brow. "M-Melissa is just my best friend. W-We go way back since kindergarten."
"If you only see her as a friend then why are you stuttering?" Cole asked with a teasing smirk.
"I-I always stuttered. Remember?" Lloyd said with a shrug and a nervous smile.
"Incorrect, Lloyd always stutters when he is nervous or hiding something." Zane calculated as Lloyd gave a brow.
"Really, Zane?" Lloyd asked tiredly.
"It's true. B-Because stuttering is actually m-my thing." The blue shirted boy said with a small smile.
"We know, Jay." Nya said with a smile, which made Jay give a sheepish one.
"O-Okay let's just say that I do have a crush on Melissa, and I'm not saying that I do, cause I don't, will she even feel the same for me? We've been best friends since we were kids." Lloyd said while rubbing his head. "I mean, she's my first friend before I met you guys and… she was the first person who was ever nice to me." He added with a blush.
"Bro, you definitely have it bad for her if you think of her that much." Kai said with a teasing smile.
"L-Let's just get to class, Alright?" Lloyd said as he walked off as the others all gave teasing smirks as they watched Lloyd go as Melissa came back.
"Were you guys teasing Lloyd again?" Melissa asked with a brow and a small smile.
"Can you blame us? Your little boy toy is easy to tease, sister." Nya said with a smirk.
"Heh, funny, I could say the same thing about you, Nya." Melissa said with a smirk, which made Nya did a double take as she stood in silence. "Now come on. We don't wanna keep Lloyd waiting. Class is starting soon." She said as she walked off.
"So sis, do you think Melissa has it bad for Lloyd as he has it bad for her?" Kai asked quietly.
"She kept it hidden good, but when she talks about Lloyd and always stood up for him, she has it bad for him as he did with her." Nya whispered back. "That and let's just say on our last girls day, I may have tricked her into spilling the beans." She added with a smirk. "So I can safely confirm that yes, Melissa has a crush on Lloyd."
"Heh, it's only a matter of time." Kai said as they all headed to class and prepared for whatever the day brings for them.
A/N: And that is the first chapter of the Movie, yeah that's right, I am doing my own version of the movie with some of my OCs and instead of the kid and the store owner it's gonna be the Ninja from the actual series watching the movie.
