"Caesar."
"He's a man of towering intellect, the founder of the Legion, conqueror of 86 tribes."
"The Legion is the worst enemy we've ever faced."
"We're out of food, men, and out of time. The Legion is right outside waiting to kill us all!"
"With Caesar and a new legate here, the Legion's not going to fall for the same old bag of tricks."
"Lanius… the 'Butcher.' Monster, Terror of the East."
"Caesar."
"He's the myth, the weapon the Legion needs."
"He's never been defeated in battle. 14 tribes have laid down arms at his boots. Another five, rendered extinct."
"The rest of my squad was crucified, butchered, mutilated."
"Legion says he can smell weakness."
"Caesar."
"There will be no attrition, no falling back, only carnage."
"The NCR will find our teeth at their throats in a dozen places."
"When he arrives, he'll fall on Hoover Dam like a hammer, break the Bear in two."
"Caesar."
"We'll never stop them, not at this rate."
"People back home don't know what these young men and women are in for."
"Caesar."
"Mars's eyes are upon you. Do not fail him - or us."
"So you want me to help you recover the Excaliburs?"
"Ideally, yes. Me and Xenovia have now lost both of ours trying to do this on our own. We need outside help."
They've lost both Excaliburs and can't ask the devils or the church for more help leaving only me. Which means I can set whatever price I want.
"Sure. But first, let's discuss payment."
Xenovia crossed her arms. "Payment? We haven't even started."
"If I were to get you the Excaliburs right now, I would have no guarantee you'll pay me other than your word. You could simply walk away with them."
"We are servants of god. It is against what we believe in for to deceive you."
"True as that may be. We should establish the terms of the contract now. It's standard practice for any service. All I want in return is custody over Freed and whoever he's working for."
Irina tilted her in confusion. "Who he's working for? It's Kokabiel. You were there with us when we explained the situation."
"As far as we know the only ones involved are Kokabiel, his army of fallen angels, Freed, maybe other stray Exorcists. They must have gathered those holy swords for some reason. I want to know who, what, why, where, and how."
Xenovia sat down and leaned her back against the tree behind her. "Why do you care? You're not with the church, devils, or fallen."
"I've got a personal problem with him and I don't want anyone to get to him before I do."
Xenovia, seemingly satisfied with his answer, said nothing in turn.
"So what's your plan?" Asked Irina.
"First I need intel. Tell me everything about what happened to you yesterday. Don't leave out a single detail."
"There's not much to tell. We were resting at a church for the night, Freed ambushed us, me and Xenovia began fighting him, Freed wielded Excalibur Rapidly, allowing him to move far faster than he normally could, Xenovia unleashed her-" Irina paused then looked at Xenovia for confirmation.
She nodded and Irina resumed. "She unleashed Durandal and for a moment, we were on the brink of overwhelming him until another stray exorcist joined him. I've never seen anything like it. He shot my hand twice and Xenovia three times in the leg in a second."
"Shorter than that Irina. It wasn't even a half a second."
"What makes that so interesting?"
Xenovia nursed the area where the bullet entered before continuing. "Thinking back on it, I didn't detect any magic from that stray exorcist. It's… well, it's insane that someone could do that, without magic."
Irina stared at her hand in bewilderment. "Speaking of no magic. my hand… it feels like I was never shot in the first place."
"Thank you, Miss Irina. I hope when we're done, you both give your superiors a recommendation to use my services. Now lets refocus, I have an idea for how to find him. We should start off with abandoned areas here in Kuoh. Freed won't be anywhere near the devils or an active church."
Then an audible growl escaped both girls' stomachs. "How 'bout somethin' to eat first?"
Irina began fiddling with her hands when he suggested that. Xenovia pinched her nose in irritation.
"What's wrong?"
"Irina spent all our funds given to us by the church on a fake painting."
Irina raised her voice at the revelation. "What are you saying? It's obviously a holy figure! The man selling it said it was real!"
"Who was in the painting then? It doesn't remind me of anyone."
"Umm…Saint Peter…maybe?"
Xenovia gave out a defeated sigh. "Why did I get stuck with you as my partner? Lord, is this another one of your trials?"
"Wait, wait, wait, where's this painting?"
Irina lit up at the question. "We have it right…here…"
Robert did his best to hold back a chuckle. "You left it back at that church?"
Irina slowly nodded in shame.
"Well, we can go get it later. We should go eat then start hunting for Freed."
"Oh, right. Do you know anywhere good Robert?"
"I know a ramen place nearby, let's go there."
About thirteen minutes later they arrived. "Ok, give me a minute. I'll switch into something less suspicious." Robert walked into a portable restroom nearby, switched out of the elite riot gear helmet, duster, stealth suit into the Kuoh uniform imitation.
"Alright, here you're given a sheet of paper with a pencil. You circle the image of what you want, on the back you circle your preferred noodle texture, spiciness, and anything extra you want. "
The trio were directed to a table, chose their food, and when it arrived, devoured it without hesitation.
"Easy, easy, you'll choke if you eat too fast."
Irina glanced at Robert's side of the table. He hadn't ordered anything. Not even a glass of water.
"Robert, aren't you hungry?"
"That's kind of you to ask Miss Irina, but I ate an hour ago."
「お嬢様、こちらが牛丼です。」
Something, your food is ready. My Japanese is getting better and better.
Half an hour later the two had finished eating. "Are you two going to get anything else?"
"No, I've had enough. This country has amazing food. Those fried noodles were amazing. And you Irina?"
"This is my last bowl."
"I hope so. You said that two bowls ago."
Irina's face grew slightly red at the realization that she'd eaten six whole bowls of the same food.
Robert raised his hand and called out to the nearby waitress.
「すみません、お会計をお願いします。」He asked.
A few minutes later, the waitress brought the bill, bowed as a thank you, and walked away.
Only ¥5,390? Damn that's cheap!
"Ok, now that you're feelin' better, let's talk about strategy."
"What do you have in mind?" Asked Xenovia
"I know a few people who would love to help us take care of Kokabiel. Hell, I bet they'll do it free of charge."
"The devils?" asked Irina after cleaning herself with a napkin.
"No, they're humans like us."
Xenovia crossed her arms. "Why would they help us? What's your relationship with them?"
"Our relationship? Don't have one. I just sell them stimpacks just how I'd like to do for the Church. They're leader told me they have a personal vendetta against fallen angels and devils. For now, that has to be enough. Remember, we're severely outnumbered in this fight. Kokabiel has an entire army with him."
Neither of them gave a response to his explanation.
Irina put her hand on Xenovias shoulder to comfort her. "We already tried doing this on our own. Go ahead and call them Robert." To which Xenovia sighed in resignation and drank her glass of water.
"All right, give me a moment."
He then walked outside to a payphone, pulled out the earpiece he'd been given by Cao Cao, picked up the phone to mimic him calling someone on it and turned to the entrance of the Ramen Shop to keep an eye out for the two Exorcists.
"Hello?"
A few seconds later, someone responded. "Robert?"
"Yeah, it's me. Here's the situation, Freed attacked the Exorcists who came to retrieve the Excalibur fragments, took Excalibur Mimic, returned it to Valper Galilei, who when I spoke with, agreed to give me his research notes on mass producing blessed bullets if he got it. The Exorcists hired me to help them get back the Excaliburs and I need you and anyone you can trust to help us. It's likely Kokabiel will be there."
"What about Valper and Freed?"
"Capturing Valper would help us greatly. Freed too but it's fine if you kill him. I've seen him use Excalibur Rapidly. I'd guess he's close to breaking the sound barrier. Think you can take him?"
"I'll be fine. What about the rest of the Excaliburs?"
"The last one is with another Exorcist. I have no idea where she is. I've already thought about it, we shouldn't keep the fragments for ourselves, not now at least. If we succeed, I could build trust with the church. It'll give me much more intel that could help us long term. Even if we did get them, there's no guarantee we could use them."
"True, but maybe Jeanne or someone else could use them."
"I wouldn't know if they could or couldn't. Valper pointed out I lack the requirements to use 'em. Even if they could, they only have two hands, and there's no guarantee anybody else can."
"What about selling back to them?"
"That's possible. But it can't be any of us who sells it. I already agreed to have custody over Freed and Valper as payment. I don't want them revealing to the church that I helped them kill and capture Exorcists. The only thing we would want would just be DNA samples. I don't know if it's true that your genetics determine if you can use magic or not and to how much of a degree."
"I think I get it now. While you do need those samples, there's no guarantee genetics determine if you can or can't use magic, I doubt they'll agree to leave humanity alone in exchange for fragments of a sword."
"Exactly. Thanks for understanding. So how long will it take for you to get here?"
"We can teleport there, the only thing that will take up time is deciding who's going, and preparing. I could get there now with just me, Georg, and Heracles but getting the rest ready and fully prepared would take an hour at most. Do you need us there now?"
"No, an hour's fine. Might want to get a pen and paper, here's where I'm at."
"Wait, one last question. If we're going to get DNA samples through either a blood, saliva, or a hair sample, won't that require us to be there when the angels get into combat? We'd either have to fight them ourselves or wait for someone else to do so."
Robert put his free hand in his pocket and tapped his feet as he thought it over. "I see what you're getting at. True, it's ideal I appear at least neutral to the church, so if you help with this, then fight the angels later, they won't trust me. It's better to get the DNA in exchange, give the swords, remove Freed and Valper, and be at least neutral with the church. The alternative scenario would be, exchanging the swords, getting Freed and Valper, then having to fight the angels for samples, which'll ruin any trust I've built by then with the church."
"So you agree? We should find out now If your theory works rather than later where we'll have less overall."
"Yeah I agree, just make sure you create an opportunity where I can take Freed and Valper. As for the samples, do you know whose I should ask for?"
"Ask for Uriel's, Gabriel's, Raphael's, and Michael's. They're the four great seraphs."
After giving his location to Cao Cao, he went back to the ramen shop and found the two girls waiting outside.
"They've agreed to help and after a brief talk we decided to change my payment. You can take anyone you want as prisoners. In return I want a DNA sample from the four great seraphs in person. The process won't even take five minutes and it must be done in person."
The two exchanged uncertain expressions before Xenovia spoke up. "Me and Irina can't speak for the whole church. The four great seraphs are very busy. The most we can do is just call our superiors and relay your request."
"We'll cross that bridge when we get to it. Our help will be here in an hour. I need to get back to my hotel and prepare."
The two nodded. "How about you meet me and Xenovia at the park at seven?"
"Fine by me. See you then."
Robert returned back to the hotel, switched into his usual armor, returned to Big Mt, went straight for his room and grabbed Esther.
Never got around to planting this thing somewhere for emergencies but that's probably for the best. I'll take two of the Big Kid[1] mini nuke, one timed mini nuke[1, and the Tiny Tots variant[1].
When he opened up the duffle bag S slithered out to his right, then to his left a few seconds later, appeared a human Dr Dala.
"Are you going to make me carry some of that? You know you'll be over encumbered with all weight."
"I thought about having you fight with me but I think it's better I have you as back up in case this goes south. You'll grab me and use this." Six showed S the Transportalponder.
"Just grab me, pull the trigger, and it'll take us back here."
"Understood. Do you want me to stay hidden and wait for a signal?"
"Yeah, when I say, 'I surrender' or I put my hands up, you come in as fast as you can, grab me and then pull the trigger. The real question is should you be fast or quiet."
"I could turn into a bird to close the gap while holding it then turn into something else to pull the trigger."
"That can work. I know an old world bird that was known for its speed – the Peregrine Falcon."
"There's just one problem. I can only turn into creatures I've seen before. I've been in that familiar forest a while so I can turn into most mythical creatures. But I've never heard of or seen this bird before."
"Our best bet would be Dr. Borous's room. He might have an encyclopedia on animals. If we're lucky only half of it has rotted away."
A quick check downstairs gave them their answer. Dr. Borous proudly confessed to having burned some of his books believing that their authors were communists for not glorifying the Bald Eagle. If he had an animal encyclopedia it could have been burned away centuries ago.
Six held back an irritated groan.
It's always something with these damn jar brains!I still don't get it. WHAT EVEN IS COMMUNISM?[6]!All the political books I find have either been burned, have rotted through, or written by some biased Bark Scorpion[2] who writes like he's had dozens of radscorpion[3] stings pierce their skull! I bet No-Bark Nooan has a better understanding of it![4]
"It's fine." He said in a worryingly calm voice. "You could also turn into that white winged horse yesterday. You fly to me, I climb on, as you fly away, I grab the teleporter, you're holding in your mouth and we're gone. If at any point you're certain, not think, certain, You can teleport Freed, Valper, or Kokabiel here, do so. But only send Kokabiel here if he's unconscious. If you get here with them, tell the Think Tank to immediately lobotomise them."
S crossed her arms, thinking over the plan. Satisfied, S nodded. "I comprehend. An interesting strategy. That could work."
"Let's go to my room. I'm going to switch out some of my guns. I'll need you loading up everything with the right ammo."
Six threw all his handguns in the storage trunk with the exception of the Sonic Emitter – Robo-scorpion, Ranger Sequoia, and A Light Shining in Darkness. He tossed in Elijah's LAER, all the frag grenades, frag mines, tied six plasma grenades[5] to the belt, threw six in the duffle bag along with the fifteen nuka grenades, and grabbed the fully modded .45 auto SMG.
After swapping everything out, the Sawed-off shotgun was holstered on the left hip, the Ranger Sequoia on the right, A Light Shining in Darkness in the duster's interior lower left pocket, and the Sonic Emitter in the lower right pocket. The upper right pocket was filled with seven fully loaded speed loaders for the Ranger Sequoia, the upper left had four magazines for A Light Shining in Darkness. On his back hung the fully modded .45 auto SMG in its holster along with the Holorifle.
Inside the duffle bag were only .45 drum magazines, Nuka Grenades, energy cells, microfusion cells, and enough chems to last a pack of Fiends a month. All neatly organized and separated in different pockets so he could grab them without looking.
Ok everything's set. All .45 mags are using super rounds, energy weapons are using max charge ammo, the .45-70 rounds are SWC, and the shotgun shells are 12 gauge magnum. Only took us like forty five damn minutes to set it all up.
"S, turn into that winged horse." When Six turned around that white horse with wings had been standing in the room
"Is the weight low enough?" After getting on S gave an approving nod.
Six got off, went to the fridge in another room, downed a sunset sarsaparilla and got another for S.
"Hey S, here." Then tossed it to S who excitedly took off the bottle cap and desperately drank the contents.
"It crossed my mind that we barely take breaks. I'll give you a better reward after this is over for now let's relax a bit." Six grabbed the devil history book left on the bedside table.
S looked at the floor nervously. "Umm…can you show me what you look like?" Six's tone shifted slightly but kept their eyes on the book. "Why'd ya want to see that?"
"I'm curious. I have no idea what you look like."
"What does seeing my appearance give you?"
S stood silent for a moment, unsure how to respond. "Nothing. I suppose."
"Exactly. It doesn't matter what I look like."
"Has anyone seen your face?"
"A few. But that was a while ago. I'm so…" "Six briefly paused searching for the proper words.
"...accustomed to wearing helmets that cover my whole head." "Can you tell me more about America then?"
Six hesitated for a brief moment at the mention of the name. "Sure. A popular destination for those visiting was a city on the east coast. It's a large statue of a green woman in a dress that goes from her neck to her feet. She's holding a torch with her right hand above her head and I think a book in her left."
"You think?"
"That's the only part of the statue I don't vividly remember from the magazine I saw it in. She's wearing a crown with spikes on it and the entire statue was green."
"Green? Why's it green?"
"It's made out of copper. Over time it went from its original shiny reddish brown colour to forming a green layer on top because of the air, moisture, and other elements. This helps protect the copper underneath the layer from corrosion."
"Why'd they build the statue?" "They didn't. Another country gave it to America as a gift." "What's the country? Are they good friends with them?"
"It was called uh…actually I don't think I know its name. But I've heard they were famous for building a large tower in one of their cities."
"What about food?" "I think they were famous for wine and cheese." "Do you have any?" "Wine? Yes. The cheese they had?" Six chuckled. "Unfortunately no. When we get back I'll let you drink some of the wine I've got."
S' eyes lit up at the offer. "As for the cheese, well maybe there's a store here in Kuoh that sells it. Now c'mon, we gotta go."
While Six went threw away the bottles, S turned back into a snake, got inside the duffle bag and Six activated the Transportalponder after checking S was inside.
Upon arrival in Kuoh, Robert had the suit scan for any witnesses. After finding none, went inside the men's room in the public restroom, and opened up the duffle bag on the ground. S quickly slithered out and went inside one of the stalls.
Almost slipped my mind. This country has a law against weapons and I can't afford to stand out. So in the duffel bag goes anything I can't hide and I'm switching outfits.
"Alright here ya go. Can you carry it?" Robert handed S the Transportalponder who'd shapeshifted into an white and brown feathered owl native to the region.
S hooked its talons over the barrel and hover midair.
Robert nodded. "Perfect. Make sure whenever you transform, no one can see ya. We're headin' to the warehouse Freed and Valper are at. Be ready to teleport me if I surrender. If you can, teleport Freed or Valper when nobodys watchin'. After I walk out, wait a minute, then go follow me. I don't want anyone seein' us together."
Robert left the restroom and met back up with the Exorcists. With them was Cao Cao, his team from that day Robert met them, and ten others.
"Alright, let's get to work. I'm confident that Freed is at an abandoned warehouse on the edge of town."
The group stood hidden in an alleyway across from the warehouse. With S resting on the rooftop of the left building.
"I'm sensing a lot of fallen angels inside that warehouse." Warned Irina.
"How many?" Asked Cao Cao.
"I can't give an exact number but there's hundreds in there. Same for you, Xenovia?"
"I'm sensing that too, along with a human or two in there."
"Cao Cao, I'll leave the plan of attack to you since I don't know your team's abilities. Here's a general layout of the building." Said Robert.
Robert crouched on the ground, drew a square in the dirt, with an X on the sides, on top, and an arrow pointing to the box on the bottom.
"The arrow leads to the double door main entrance, the buildin' has a skylight, three emergency exits, one on each exterior wall, it's got a stairs that lead to an elevated walkway that are all interconnected, stretchin' over the entire interior, and is likely to collapse if a few support beams are destroyed. I'm using a gun so I'm best suited for attackin' mid to long range. Remember, our objective is the Excalibur fragments. Get them and get out."
"Agreed, and if possible, capture Kokabiel. Me and Irina are both swordswomen so we're best suited at close range."
"Here's the plan, Georg will use his sacred gear, Leonardo follows up with his, after that we'll split into two teams. One deals with the Fallen the other targets Freed."
Georg pointed the palm of his hand forward and their surroundings began to get covered in a thick purple mist that spread out from his hands. The mist covered the entire area around them.
"Allright, I'm changing out of this, give me a moment." Robert turned a corner in the alleyway, returning a minute later with his weapons and armor.
"Leonardo, create the anti-monsters for fallen angels."
The black hooded figure removed his hood, revealing the face of a young teenage boy. He had a blank, expressionless face.
He's older than fourteen if I had to guess. I'm so sick of seeing kids involved in things like this.
Leonardo thrusted his hands forward, beneath him a pitch black shadow spread across the ground, spreading from the alleyway to the entire street. The shadow consumed all light, making it impossible to see anything but the pitch black. From it hundreds of eight-foot-tall or 244 centimeters, headless humanoid monsters appeared, their bodies entirely made of metal, their whole body the same pitch black, each bearing a glowing red orb embedded between its shoulders.
What the hell?
Immediately after, hundreds of fallen angels flooded out the exits, smashed through the skylight, flew into the air, formed into a wide loose singular rectangular formation, covering the sun and turning the sky black from the sheer amount of black wings. Freed bolted out the main entrance wielding a large golden sword, he then rushed at the monsters in insane speed.
All of the monster's red orb grew brighter in color until a bright beam of light blasted from the orb, one aimed at Freed, the rest at the sky.
Freed sidestepped the beam of light, closed the distance in two seconds, and pierced the monster's stomach with his sword. It then coalesced into a black sludge, falling to the ground, and slowly fading to nothing. The other monsters exchanged fire with the army of fallen, they were showered with hundreds of light spears, as they hit, beams of light took out dozens of fallen.
The Fallen quickly adapted, scattering into the sky flying in unpredictable patterns.
With the sound of combat so loud, Robert had to yell just to hear himself. "Ok, me, Xenovia, and Irina will go take care of Freed!"
"Jeanne go with th-" He was then cut off by a blinding light. Everyone turned their attention to a male fallen with five pairs of wings creating a massive light spear. He then hurled it straight towards the alleyway.
Georg covered everyone with the mist and the moment the light spear hit the fog it faded into nothingness. Cao Cao aimed his spear at the fallen angel and fired off a beam of light from his spear. The fallen angel desperately dodged to its right barely avoiding the attack. He then raised his hand again to throw another light spear and the moment he did so Cao Cao's spear extended far and fast enough to pierce his right hand.
"Jeanne, lets go while they keep the fallen occupied!" She gave a quick nod and ran with them to take back the sword. Freed was running at the same speed a sports car does a second, going from monster to monster, killing them in one strike.
When he saw the two exorcists, he turned all his focus on them. Irina was the first to cross swords with him. "Freed, what have you done with the rest of the Excalibur fragments!"
"Watch an' see!" The blade of Freed's sword then turned invisible. Irina was able to block the first strike but was then cut deeply in her left arm. Suddenly he was forced to back away when Jeanne thrusted a rapier at his throat.
"Buy me a bit of time to summon Durandel!"
Freed then decided to take things up another level by making five identical copies of himself. They split into two teams of six, constantly attacking both of them. Jeanne retaliated by stabbing her sword into the ground. In front of her erupted dozens of identical pristine rapiers from the earth. Two of the illusions were destroyed and blocked an attack from the last.
Irina had trouble dealing with Freed on her own, fighting three began to overwhelm her. When she felt cornered and on the verge of taking a lethal strike, she came to a realization. Freed's strategy and attacks were incredibly predictable. One would attack from the front, the next from her right, and the last behind her. Although she couldn't see the blade the hilt was still visible. She closed the distance, redirected his swing at her stomach by hitting above the hilt upwards, slightly retracted her sword, and managed to land a deep cut on his left upper arm.
When she did the rest of the illusions disappeared and he grit his teeth in pain and he rushed her in a fit of rage. Throughout the fight Robert had taken a hit of jet, turbo, and steady. Grabbed the Holorifle out the duffle bag, activated V.A.T.S, its displayed percentages constantly changing with Freed's rapid movements. When Irina landed a hit, Robert aimed for his left leg, fired four shots, its projectile made of light, traveled at light speed but only the first two shots hit.
The first shot burnt through a chunk of his calf, the Holorifle's unique projectile set the rest of his body on fire, burning flakes of his flesh off, the second shot burnt through his shin bone, causing him to lose balance, tumble forward with all the moment he'd build up, and dropped the sword.
Right before anybody could move to grab it, three huge magic circle appeared on the ground, followed by a tornado made of fire erupting from each, out from them appeared a giant black furred three headed dog. Its teeth were as thick as trees, sharp as spears, and from their mouths was an unending fire that covered the inside of the three headed dogs let out a viscous growl and moved to attack the anti-monsters.
"Get back and close your eyes!" Robert gave the girls two seconds, hurled two plasma grenades at the closest dog's paw, turned away and closed his eyes. The grenade physically hit it, the resulting point blank superheated hydrogen plasma went a million degrees kelvin. Any human would've been instantly vaporized on the spot. In nanoseconds, the first explosion easily vaporized its thick, heat resistant fur and skin. Yet the monster's sheer heat resistance allowed most of its muscles to remain intact. Immediately after the first detonation the second plasma grenade followed up. By the end of both explosions, when Robert looked back, the three headed monster had lost everything below the joint of its front right leg.
"Now, attack!" The three girls rushed forward.
As they ran Irina spoke up. "Xenovia, Jeanne, lets focus on one head at a time! Lets do the right one first! Xenovia you lead, distract it, me and Jeanne will attack!" The two nodded in agreement. Xenovia lead the trio, slashing at the head. The monster growled, let out a powerful bark that echoed throughout the battlefield followed by a stream of fire from its mouth at Xenovia. Jeanne stabbed her sword into the ground, summoned an eruption of swords from the ground beneath its throat, releasing a geyser of blood from it. The monster let out an angry cry, tried to bite Xenovia, when she dodged out of the way Irina stabbed it right in the eye. Despite all that the three headed dog continued to fight. However, now far slower and bleeding out at an alarming rate. Seeing the opportunity, Irina finally recovered the fused Excalibur from Freed.
By now, the entire battle had raged on for only thirteen minutes. The fallen angels had lost over half their numbers. The anti-monsters fired off light based attacks which on top of being a fallen angel's weakness, were powerful on their own regardless of their attribute, they're controlled by one person making communication unnecessary or made autonomous, can be replaced immediately, were stronger than any fallen angel with only one pair of wings, which made up at least a fifth of those present.
Kokabiel's attacks were nullified by the purple mist Georg used, the fallen angels couldn't leave or bring reinforcements. and there was Cao Cao who could prove to be powerful enough to defeat him.
By the fifteen minute mark, Kokabiel had lost all his two winged fallen, many of his four winged soldiers were nearing exhaustion from constant magic usage and general movement. Wherever the purple mist had taken them, it was an enclosed space, making retreat impossible, if Kokabiel had a way to somehow escape or destroy wherever magic was keeping them there, Cao Cao and Heracles had kept him occupied this whole time.
Any cover they took was destroyed. Kokabiel's experience from the great war was squandered since he couldn't lead them. Any who tried to use any form of ranged communication apart from speaking and written messages had their communication channel rendered useless as no audio went in or out. Most likely also by the purple mist that permeated everywhere. Kokabiel attempted to attack Leonardo at close range but Cao Cao and Heracles stopped his advance. The end result was obvious.
Cao Cao and Heracles work in great sync. The moment one of them was growing overwhelmed the other came in to save him and in the rare instance both were in trouble, Georg had his skill in magic by firing a great variety of elemental spells.
Over time Robert, Jeanne, Irina, and Xenovia all worked together neutralizing or killing the three headed dog monsters. Robert provided ranged support, while the three girls fought close range, attacking the eyes, focusing on a singular limb to cripple it, and trying to stab its heart. By the end two of them were dead, both had one of their paws vaporized by the intense heat of the plasma grenades. The last hundreds of cuts, ultimately forced to lay down, too exhausted from blood loss to continue.
With all the three headed monsters defeated, Kokabiel was now surrounded by everyone as his troops continued to fight a losing battle. He looked around the battlefield and realized his situation. He tried his best to suppress a chuckle but it erupted into laughter. He spread out his arms and beckoned them to come.
