Ever since that day, Yuga came to the clinic after breakfast with his family and stayed there until his mothers' shift in the kitchen was over. The invisible zombie always seemed to look forward to seeing the little blond-picking him up immediately when he came and giving him a jerkish nuzzle against the crown of his head. He always giggled and rubbed his smooth cheek against her pale, dry one.
Izuku never strayed too far from Kacchan. He always snuggled against the blond teen, soaking up the zombie's affection for him.
After three more days, Izuku startled at the sound of the intercom. The boy heard Nezu's voice coming from the intercom.
"Good morning, Izuku-chan. This is Nezu. How did you sleep?"
Izuku swallowed, nervous. This was the first time in weeks he heard Nezu's voice. "I'm doing good, sir." Nezu chuckled.
"That's good. Now, Aizawa is coming to take you down to our labs. Of course, Kacchan will go with you, so you don't have to worry."
Izuku perked up, "Are we..?"
The man smirked even though the kid can't see it. "Yes. You're going to save Kacchan."
…
Aizawa looked in front of himself as he lead the boy and the blond zombie to the lab. He had been told by Nezu and All Might that this transfer of blood will be safe but he wasn't sure.
There was something…off…about Kai Chisaki.
He first met him when he was 17. The boy was already naturally sick before the apocalypse, and he was obsessed with anything regarding germs and purity. Strangely enough, the hatred of quirks seemed to blend with the subject of purity. You could hear him mumbling if the zombie manifestation was the result of a quirk in the halls if you listen close enough.
He knew Chisaki would do his job, but with the knowledge that these boys are quirkless..?
Would that cause him to experiment on the boys as well?
He brushed the thoughts out of his mind. If anything happened to those boys, Kacchan will attack the scientist if need be.
"Oh! Hello, Eraserhead." The black-haired man looked up to see a twenty-year-old man with shoulder-length black hair that had strands of pale blue mixed in. His gray eyes looked at Aizawa in pleasant surprise. He was wearing a black dress shirt with a tie, black pants, and black dress shoes.
"Hello, Toshinori-kun." The man laughed.
"Eraserhead, I was one of your pupils growing up. Call me Tenko."
Tenko Toshinori, All Mights' adopted son, smiled at the man warmly. Tenko was a child that had been thrown away by his biological father after his mothers' death. He had been born in a different base and was categorized as a killer after his mother died in childbirth.
The boy had literally been tossed out in the rain. If Toshinori hadn't seen him after he just escaped UA, he would've died from the cold before a zombie would have.
The man looked down at the two behind him, eyes widening at the sight of the zombie. "Whoa! I heard about the zombies not attacking a child, but I wasn't sure if it was real." He smiled at the kid. "Hello, my name is Tenko."
The kid smiled back, "I'm Izuku. I'm going to the lab to help Kacchan."
"The lab?" The man frowned, giving Aizawa a look that clearly stated, 'I don't think that's a good idea.'
Aizawa nodded, "I'll be with him the whole time. Come on, Izuku." The greenette waved bye and followed Aizawa, holding tight to Kacchan's hand.
…
"Hi, Izuku." Izuku grinned at Yuga, who was being held by Hagakure. "Hi Yuga!" Hagakure placed the kid down and Izuku let go of Kacchan's hand. The two tots hugged, causing Aizawa to fight off the urge to smile at the sight.
The door they were in front of abruptly opened, revealing a man with brown hair and glinting golden eyes. He was wearing a lab coat and a black facemask. He was staring gleefully at the two children who smiled back at him nervously. The three ignored the protective snarls of the two zombies behind them.
"Welcome in children!" The man closed his eyes innocently as he gestured to the room behind him. Izuku turned towards Kacchan and raised his arms, begging to be picked up. The zombie obliged, his dull red eyes looking at the man with surprising focus. Yuga gripped onto Hagakure's skirt, burying his face in her hip. Her hand cupped the back of his head as she glared at the man.
The five (including Aizawa) walked past the man, eyes widening at what they saw.
Two bacta tanks were against the back wall of the room, filled with calming waters. Face masks were floating in the tanks. An IV tube was against one side of the tank; half of it was connected to a blood bag (an empty IV tube was connected to the other end)-the other half was in a hidden panel inside the bacta tank with a needle attached to the end. Two assistants were beside each bacta tank, holding onto child-sized swimsuits.
Aizawa felt his heart drop. This didn't look like a simple procedure. But before he could say anything, Chisaki placed a hand on his shoulder. His voice was pleasant as he gently steered the man out the door. "I know it's a little intimidating, but I promise you, these are all for the comfort and the safety of the children. Please let Nezu know that they're both in good hands."
Before Aizawa could say anything, he shut the door.
He turned toward the four left behind. He gave them another smile, "Well…"
He walked a little closer, causing the two tots to whimper and the zombies to growl.
He picked up a glove and pulled it onto his left hand, his eyes opening to golden slits as the latex made a satisfying snap.
"…shall we get started?"
