Disclaimer: So... this is probably gonna be one of the least changed episodes. The only new idea was one you'll see near the midpoint of the chapter. Other than that, it's pretty much the same. Hope you enjoy!

Also, I don't own The Lion King, or The Lion Guard.

The Lion Guard

New Lion Guard arc Episode Four: Eye of the Beholder

Kion was traversing through a sandstorm while evading nearby wildebeest. He managed to evade one that came right for him, and then duck under another. That was when Fuli reached him. "Kion!" She expressed her annoyance with how rough the situation was. "How are we supposed to chase off the hyenas? We're practically blind with all this dust!"

"I'm sure that's part of Janja's plan, Fuli." Kion replied before flashing his trademark grin. "Luckily, i know just the bird for the job."

"Kion! Fuli!" Ono called from above, catching the two's attention. "Look out!"

"Hevi Kabisa!" Kion shouted as he and Fuli evaded another wildebeest. He smiled when looking up to his feathered friend. "Good eyes, Ono! Keep em peeled for the dumbo trio!"

"I'd prefer NOT peeling my eyes, thanks!" Ono snarked before looking for Janja's clan. He instantly caught Cheezi and Chungu making their way to a wildebeest calf. "Hapana." He called over to the closest Guard members. "Bunga! Beshte! Cheezi and Chungu are behind that bush!"

Bunga hopped onto Beshte's back as they got ready to head in that direction. "Let's get em, Beshte!"

Before Cheezi and Chungu could act, Beshte charged after them. "Twende Kiboko!"

Bunga, having fun as usual, called out his own catchphrase as well. "Zuka Zama!"

"That's one part of the problem dusted off." Ono couldn't contain his snicker at such a brilliant pun. He loved wordplay. "Dusted off."

Kion saw a wildebeest headed right for him. He jumped up just in time to scale the animal and leap off of its back. After skidding on the ground, he called up to Ono. "Ono! Look for Janja!" He dodged another wildebeest as he started getting cocky again. "Keep it up, dust storm! I can dodge these guys all day!"

"Affirmative!" Ono called down, flying off to look for Janja.

Kion dodged two more wildebeests before Janja appeared behind him in the blinding sand. "Gotcha now, lion cub."

Luckily for Kion, Ono spotted the hyena just in time. "Kion! Behind you! Look out!"

Kion got excited and braced himself. He knew the threat had to be Janja. The Lion cub tumbled a bit with the hyena after being tackled. Despite being ready for Janja's attack, Kion ended up pinned down. Still, getting bested slightly, didn't dampen his spirits at all. "About time we got to fight again!" Kion pushed against Janja's face, and then smacked him before pinning him down. He and Janja grunted in between every action. "Even though, I wish you'd, stop coming back!"

"I wouldn't waste time wishin' upon stars!" Janja shouted before overpowering Kion. He smiled, even though he found Kion annoying.

Ono saw another wildebeest and warned Kion immediately. "Kion! Incoming!"

After hearing Ono's warning, Kion felt the ground shake from approaching hooves. He gave Janja an all too smug smile. "See ya, hyena!" He kicked Janja up and caused the wildebeest to ram right into him. Janja got sent flying to another part of the dust storm.

Janja landed on his chest and chin before skidding on the ground. When he stopped moving, the hyena opened his eyes in defeat. "I've had enough." He said softly, the disappointment apparent in his voice. He got back to his paws and announced a retreat. "Cmon, fellas! Let's go."

"But Janja. What about the plan?" Cheezi asked, still starving.

"Yeah! The dust is still making things hard to see." Chungu added.

"I forgot to take the Lion Guard's eyes in the sky into account; now move it!" Janja commanded, leading to Cheezi and Chungu following from behind.

Fuli caught up to them just in time for Chungu to notice. "That's right! Get outta here!"

"I'm goin', I'm goin'!" Chungu assured Fuli fearfully before running off.

Kion proudly boasted as he called out to Janja. "That's another point for us, Janja! Enjoy the walk home!"

"And this time, stay out!" Bunga called right after.

"Nice job, everyone." Kion congratulated before looking up to Ono. "Ono. Make sure the dumbo trio is actually leaving."

"You got it, Kion!" Ono exclaimed with a salute before flying off. He called to the hyenas when he reached them. "You heard them! Keep moving!" When Chungu finished climbing over the rocks, he kicked a few pebbles off of the cliff. The falling debris struck Ono in the eye while he was flinging along the cliffside. "Ow! My eye! I'm hit!"

"Oh no! Ono!" Kion called as he and the others watched Ono fall with one wing covering his face to shield his impaired vision. He fell through two trees and landed in a bush.

Ono rolled out of the bush and tumbled before landing with his bacl on the ground. "Maybe I should've peeled my eyes after all." Ono tried to get up, but the impact took a lot out of him.

"He's over here!" Ono opened his eyes to the sound of Fuli's voice calling out to the others. He could make out the vague shapes of a cheetah and a Lion cub, but not much else.

"Don't worry, Ono. We'll get you to Rafiki. He'll know what to do." Kion assured his fallen comrade, though even he wasn't entirely sure if the wise baboon could help.

Moments later, Rafiki was heard humming inside the Lion Guard's lair. He was working on another one of his paintings for the wall. As he hummed to himself, it was revealed to be a painting of the Lion Guard. He was interrupted by Kion's voice. "Rafiki!" Rafiki looked in the direction of the worried Lion Guard. Ono was lying down on Beshte's back. "We need your help, Rafiki. Ono got hurt during our last mission."

"Easy there, Ono." Beshte announced as he lowered himself. He was cautious about moving his injured friend, but needed to give Rafiki room to examine the egret.

Ono gave a light moan as Rafiki came over. "My eye."

Rafiki began inspecting Ono's eye. "Mmm, yes, I see, you cannot see. Haha!" Rafiki joked to lighten the mood. When the Guard didn't react, he moved on to his treatment, knowing exactly what was wrong. "Dirt in the eye. Not as bad as it looks." Rafiki placed some leaves on a rock for a makeshift bed. "Beshte. Bring Ono here quickly." Beshte did as instructed, gently sliding Ono onto the rock. "Okay, it's okay, just a moment." Kion and the others walked a little closer out of concern, but Rafiki waved them back. "And a little space." The others backed up and allowed Rafiki to get to work. He started mixing some stuff together, including some light dust. "Yes. Just enough. Now. Hold still, Ono." When he finished, he was quite satisfied. "Haha! Yes!" Ono was now wearing a Leafy patch over his left eye. "There."

Ono sat up and gulped, still a little worried after all that's happened. "How's it looked?"

Bunga hummed as he struggled with what to say.

Fuli wanted to stay positive, but was also at a loss for words. "Well..."

"Oh boy." Ono knew from the tone and faces his friends were making, that things weren't looking so good. "Is it that bad?"

"No no, not at all." Fuli answered quickly, attempting to cheer Ono up.

"I like it! Green is your color." Beshte said, supportively.

"Yeah. Yeah yeah yeah! It totally brings out your eyes." Bunga said as he walked up to Ono. The others words made him confident it was okay for him to speak.

"Bunga!" Fuli said, reminding Bunga of the issue at paw.

Bunga instantly realized what he said and tried to correct himself in a tasteful manner. "Did I say your eyes? I mean it brings out your ONE eye. The one you got left. I mean, I know the other one's still there, but you can't see out of it. I mean, uh..."

Ono was even more worried after that. "Oh forget it."

"Well I think it's Poa!" Beshte said, assuredly. "And if I ever get dirt in my eye, I want one just like it."

"Yeah. Me too." Kion added a little something else to his comfort. "You kinda look like a rogue warrior."

"Not the look I was going for." Ono admitted snarkily before looking at Rafiki. "So, am I gonna be okay?"

"Yes yes. Your eye will be fine." Rafiki assured Ono. "Just wear this eyepatch for three days, and no craziness."

Ono instantly worried about what that would mean. "Three days?"

"No craziness!?" Bunga exclaimed. No craziness wasn't something he could comprehend.

"Don't worry, Ono. The Guard can get by for a couple days without you." Kion assured Ono. However, that thought made his heart stop. He wasn't sure how, but he knew Ono's health was most important right now. "You need to rest-"

"No no no; you don't have to go without me! I can see just fine!" Ono assured the others frantically. He tried walking over to them to make his point, but he worried the others more in the process. "See? I'm doing great! I can still- whoa!" Ono fell off the rock he was on before finishing what he had to say. "Help." Bunga helped Ono up since he was right next to him. And he continued to try and prove he could still help, masking his panic with eagerness. "So I fell off the rock. I can still-" He face planted into a wall next before falling on his butt. It made him a little dizzy. "Is that wall new?"

"No." Fuli said with a grin. She then noticed the new paintings Rafiki had been working on. "But those paintings are."

Rafiki was more than happy to inform the Guard of the paintings. "Yes yes! Every Lion Guard appears on the walls of the lair. So everyone remembers who they are."

Kion noticed how some of the lions looked different from ones you'd find in the Pridelands. It gave him curiosity. "If you don't mind me asking, Rafiki, why do some of the lions here look different from the ones I know?"

"There are many stories I'm happy to share someday, Kion. For now, I have to focus on the new Lion Guard." Rafiki said, sharing the meaning behind his new painting. "Today, I must add all of YOU to the story of the Lion Guard."

"Poa." Beshte said before noting every painting member. "So that's Kion, and there's Fuli."

"And that's me!" Bunga shouted, getting very excited at the moment. "That's me that's me that's me that's meeeee!"

Kion was honored to be part of such an amazing line of guardians. "Amazing."

"Amazing to you. To me, not so much." Rafiki admitted. "But they do say that art is in the eye of the beholder."

"You got what in your eye?" Bunga asked confusedly.

"Eye of the beholder." Ono began to explain. "It means everyone has their own opinion of what's good."

"Yes." Rafiki confirmed before looking at the painting again. "And this painting, it does not quite have the spirit of YOUR Lion Guard."

Kion encouraged Ono to give his opinion on the painting. "What do YOU think, Ono?"

Bunga slid over to Kion and leaned on his shoulder with a smirk. "Kion. Ono can't see."

"Yes I can!" Ono shouted as he started flying, desperate to show that he could still help. "And I'm STILL the Keenest of Sight, and I can STILL help the Guard! Come on, I'll prove it!"

Ono flew off as Kion called out to him. "I'll count how many times you crash!"

"Be careful!" Beshte called up as Ono started to exit the lair.

"Wait up!" Fuli called, racing after Ono with the others following suit.

After the Guard left, Rafiki got back to his painting. He observed it as carefully and critically as he could. "In my eye, it is not yet right."

Ono was still flying above with Kion and Fuli racing behind. Kion called up to Ono out of annoyance. "Ono! I ordered you to take it easy!"

"Flying IS easy! I hurt my eye, not my wings!" Ono called back, refusing to let this setback stop him from helping. "Just wait! You'll see! I can still help the guard!" Ono started using his super vision to see every animal in the Pridelands. However, he failed to notice that his mark wasn't glowing entirely. Normally, one of the Guard member's seals would glow all the way when using their signature ability. But for Ono, it only glowed halfway. "See!? I can still see everything! No letting others down for-"

Just then, Ono accidentally crashed into a fellow egret; one who was aggravated at first. "Hey! Watch where you're-" When he saw that it was Ono, he immediately grew concerned. "Ono!?"

"Whoooooa!" Ono was sent flying down from the crash and went dive bombing towards the others.

"Incoming!" Bunga shouted, prompting him to dive as Fuli and Beshte ran. Kion sat still and moved his head just enough to avoid Ono crashing.

Upon noticing that Bunga saw his near evade, Kion smirked. "Skills."

Ono tumbled after trying to land safely, skidding to a brief stop. After looking around a bit, he lied down, just before the other egret landed. "Ono! Are you okay?"

Ono instantly recognized the egret's voice. Kion, Bunga, Fuli, and Beshte arrived at the same time as the other egret, and caught full sight of him bursting with energy. "Kugusa!" Despite the crash, Ono began behaving in a way the rest of the Guard had never seen before. He was all flustered as he assured Kugusa. "Yeah, I'm just great! Sorry about crashing into you. I got carried away in my attempt to play as a rogue warrior. That's what the eyepatch gives off, right? Because I'm totally not wearing it for any other reason!"

Kugusa couldn't help but find Ono's feathery fluster charming. Kion gave an eye-roll and revealed the truth. "He just needs some rest, Kugusa. He got dust in his eye during a mission."

"He did!?" Kugusa exclaimed, concernedly looking at Ono. "Are you okay?"

"Oh yeah, I'm fine! Just not as fine as you-" Ono flinched and corrected himself quickly. "I mean I'm fine physically! Wait, eyes are a sense. Something about senses! Yeah. You're always great, with senses! Especially touch, which is what your name means. And of course it would be great to touc-" Ono started hyperventilating when realized what he almost said. Thinking a mile a minute, Ono shouted the first thing that came to mind. "EYEPATCH!"

Ono fainted with Kugusa looking at him worriedly. Fuli picked him up and put him on Beshte's back. "Don't worry, Kugusa. In three quick days, Ono will be good as new!"

"Phew. That's a relief." Kugusa expressed, being as unaware as the others to the vulture that was spying on them. The unseen eavesdropper heard the commotion, and found it quite intriguing. "I just hope he's not too bummed out by it. Being out of commission is something he'd never wanna let happen." After giving a smile that dripped with nefarious intent, the vulture flew off with this information.

Ono woke back up once the Guard said goodbye to Kugusa. "Bye Kugusa!" As embarrassed as Ono was to get like that in front of his friends, especially Kugusa. Not only did he have to accept the fact that he was hurt, but now he'd totally humiliated himself. He was at a loss for what to do and questioned his place on the team. "Don't you guys still need me? I'm the Keenest of Sight."

The rest of the Guard turned to Ono, happy to see he was okay until they saw the somber look on his face. Bunga, being Bunga, tried to say something encouraging, but his word choice wasn't the best. "You WERE the Keenest of sight?"

"Easy, Bunga." Kion deadpanned. Bunga stepped back to give Kion room, allowing the Lion cub to give Ono his full attention.

"Kion..." Ono looked at Kion with desperation in his voice. He wanted to say more, maybe even apologize, but the words died in his throat

"You just need to get better, Ono." Kion said, empathetically. He understood Ono's drive to not let others down better than most, and did his best to assure him. "You'll be back on duty in no time. But for now, let's get you back to the lair."

"Okay." Ono said submissively. But as he sat on Beshte's back, he started to get teary eyed.

Mzingo and the rest of the vultures had just been informed of what happened with Ono. The lead Vulture found himself quite intrigued by this information. "The Keenest of Sight had his vision cut in half? That IS interesting."

"I suggest we form a sub-committee to study the situation." Mwoga suggested, confident he'd be favored greatly.

"Capital idea!" Mzingo exclaimed before turning to the parliament. "All in favor, say aye."

"AYE!" To an astounding outcome, everyone in the committee said aye.

"Motion carried." Mzingo immediately got to work on the next step. "The meeting to nominate sub-committee members to study the severity of Ono's damage to eyesight, will go to the planning committee for a vote during the next session."

Janja, Cheezi, and Chungu were right below the Parliament's perch. Janja had his ear cranked up and was listening closely to their meeting. Chungu made his thoughts clear. "Can we go now? I'm hungry."

Janja shushed Chungu before listening in again. "The vultures always know the best dirt from the Pridelands. And it sounds like Ono's having trouble seeing."

Cheezi laughed a bit as he expressed joy. "Ono can't see? Yeah. That's great!" He then wondered why this was a good thing. "Uh, WHY is that great?"

"Because, furbrain, Ono is the Guard's eyes in the sky." Janja explained, he was still salty with Ono for causing his earlier attack to fail "Every time I got a brilliant plan, Ono spots it, and the Guard ruins it!" He then smiled because of how Ono's predicament could benfit his clan. "But, if Ono can't see anymore... hehehehe. I got an idea." He started heading off, prompting Cheezi and Chungu to follow. "Cmon! And before ya ask, yes. It involves food." Cheezi and Chungu smacked their lips at the sound of that before heading off with their leader.

Cheezi was excited to hear about Janja's plan. "So what's the idea, Janja?"

"Tell us the plan. Tell us the plan!" Chungu urged excitedly.

"Easy fellas, easy." Janja said, jumping into the Pridelands and turned to Cheezi and Chungu as he started singing Outta The Way. "Give me a sec to think things through, we need a plan for something new. I think I know just what to do so that Guard won't have a clue." Janja's eye was closed in on as an image of Ono came along with Janja blowing him away. "Without their eyes up in the sky," Janja started singing as the three hyenas were sneaking around the Guard. "we'll trick them hiding way up high. We'll make our move, we'll be so sly, and then we can kiss the Guard goodbye."

Cheezi laughed crazily as Chungu blew the Guard a kiss. "Bye bye."

"Oho yeah!" Janja continued singing when his head popped up over a river of floating animals. "Once the Lion Guard's out of the way!" He took a buffalo and walked off. "The Pridelands will be our buffet!" Cheezi and Chungu started fighting over a zebra as the sun set and rose. "We'll eat all night! We'll eat all day, with the Lion Guard outta the way! Outta the way!"

Cheezi and Chungu then started backing Janja up. "Outta the way!"

"Outta the way!"

"Outta the way!"

A duck and wildebeest jumped up one at a time next to Janja. "Then we can feast on bird and beast, when they're outta the way!" Cheezi started doing a goofy little dance in the spotlight. Chungu then walked away from the camera while shaking his butt. After that, Janja started demonstrating the plan. "We'll make a trap that they can't see, one they can't escape so easily." He knocked over some rocks to trap the Guard. "A rockslide or two in a narrow ravine, could be just the trick if you know what I mean!" Janja laughed a bit before Cheezi and Chungu nodded their heads no. "Oh furbrains!"

Hopefully, they would get it entirely the second time. "Once the Lion Guard's outta the way!" Janja rolled over the Lion Guard with a big boulder. Then, he was shown with Cheezi and Chungu, floating on leaves with stuffed bellies. "The Pridelands will be our buffet!" Chungu was gnawing on a bone as the sun set and rose again. "We'll eat all night, we'll eat all day, with the Lion Guard outta the way!" Cheezi started doing his goofy dance again. "Outta the way! (Outta the way!)" A zebra jumped over the screen with Janja, Cheezi, and Chungu jumping after it. "Outta the way! (Outta the way!)"

The three hyenas popped up and sang in sync in the next moment. "Then we can feast on bird and beast!"

The zebras in the image sang with Janja. "When they're outta the way!" After that, Janja was dancing with one of the zebras. He threw her aside to Cheezi, who caught her when she jumped. That's when she landed on a leaf, which Janja ate. He was then shown in the middle of circling zebras on their hind hooves. "Oh, outta the way! (Outta the way!) Outta the way! (Outta the way!)" Janja, Cheezi, and Chungu were shown to be stuffed again with Janja patting his belly. "Then we can feast on bird and beast!" Janja lifted his leg during the song to rip a fart...

PFFFFFT

"When they're outta the way!"

...The green fart cloud of bird and beast covered the screen and made Cheezi and Chungu gag. Janja then blew it away to continue his song. "One more time!" Three zebras rose with Cheezi and Chungu's mouths watering as they saw them. "Outta the way! (Outta the way!)" Janja popped up again, and then Cheezi and Chungu did. "Outta the way! (Outta the way!)"

In the real world, Cheezi and Chungu were moving their bodies up and down while singing in sync with Janja. "Then we can feast on bird and beast!" Janja joined them to finish the song. "When they're outta the way! When they're outta the way! When they're outta the way!" Janja laughed triumphantly before asking Cheezi and Chungu again, this time, in his normal speaking voice. "Do ya get it now?"

Cheezi and Chungu thought for a moment, and then shook their heads no. Cheezi did have one thought to share. "My nose is still burning." Janja placed his paws over his eyes with his butt raised up. Cheezi scooted away, just in case Janja farted again.

Back at the Lair, Rafiki was having Kion pose for his painting of the Guard. He was humming to himself while making the painting. "Hold still, Kion."

Kion looked around while making sure not to move his mouth. "How's it look?" Luckily, he could still be understood with clenched teeth.

"Ah. It is still not right." Rafiki responded. He, Bunga, and Fuli looked at Kion.

It was then that Bunga had what he thought was a helpful idea. "Try painting him in action. Like this." Bunga posed with his claws out and fake snarled to showcase this. "Now YOU try it."

"Like this?" Kion did his best to snarl, but without bringing his paws up too, he just ended up looking silly.

Bunga went up to Kion to help him out. "No no no. You need to look more like a lion."

Fuli gave a short laugh before pointing out Bunga's obviously flawed advice. "How can a lion look MORE like a lion?"

"Like this." Bunga began maneuvering Kion"s body. He lifted his left front paw a bit, and moved his left hind paw back. He raised Kion up to have him stand on his hind legs, and had his front paws raised for attack . "See? Now put your chin out, like ya mean it."

Kion shared an idea as Bunga got him into position. "I could extend my claws for battle ready points

Rafiki rolled his eyes and groaned quietly as Kion started to laugh frim Bunga touching him. "Bunga! That tickles!"

Bunga observed Kion before giving his 'artists' advice. "Kion, you're still not looking very liony. Let's see." Bunga did a bit more adjusting, but befofr6he could finish…

"Whoa! Bunga!" Kion lost balance almost immediately and fell on his chin.

"Was that action enough for you, Rafiki?" Fuli said jokingly with a chuckle.

Rafiki sighed before facing Fuli, trying to contain his frustration. "Yes."

Bunga hatched another idea that he was sure would work. "Wait a minute. I know! Paint ME in action." Bunga did a bunch of poses while jumping around. He stopped after he accidentally sent a shell into the air, which landed on his head. This stopped him in a kicking pose. "But don't paint me like this."

Kion laughed at Bunga's predicament while lying down. "Can't get more accurate than that." Kion's laughter evaporated when he saw Rafiki mid-eye-roll. "Sorry, Rafiki."

"No no no, thank you for the help." Rafiki responded before insisting he get some alone time. "Now please, no more help. I need to think in peace." Rafiki sat cross-legged in front of the Lion Guard paintings. He was preparing to meditate until a loud voice broke the silence.

"Hey you guys!" Beshte called when coming in. "I have some news!"

Rafiki sighed as he ended his meditative pose. "No peace here."

"You might get it in just a second." Kion assured Rafiki before addressing Beshte. "Fire away, Beshte."

"Oh, it's really important." Beshte began. "See, I was just down at the Watering Hole, and you know my friend Kulu?" Beshte asked. The Guard nodded quickly so Beshte could continue. "Well, her cousin overheard some buffalo talking about something his sister saw earlier today. When she was over near the canyon near Chakula Plains. Poa! I'm glad I was there to hear about it." Beshte finished, having clearly lost track of his point. This wasn't uncommon for the hippo when he talked about his many, many friends.

"I'll bet you were, big guy." Kion said with a smile, which then changed into a smirk. "I'm dying to hear it myself."

"Hear what?" Beshte asked, still unaware of how he lost his place in the conversation.

Fuli rolled her eyes and groaned before making an emphatic paw stamp. "What your friend Kulu's cousin overheard the buffalo's sister say she saw from the canyon!"

"Oh, right." Beshte said with a chuckle. "I almost forgot the most important part. She saw Janja and his hyenas, singing by the ledge of the plains."

"Not a bad show. Janja's singing voice is pretty unbungalievable." Bunga said when looking at Kion, who nodded in agreement.

Kion then got back on track when he realized what Beshte was saying. "Wait. They're IN the Pridelands?" That's when he got serious. "He wouldn't be back without a plan."

While Kion began pacing, Beshte thought hard before sharing the last detail. "Oh! Did I mention there's a herd of zebra grazing there?"

Kion smiled, having figured it out immediately from that piece of info. "Now ya did!" That's when he turned back to the Guard. "Janja's planning to attack the zebras! Cmon! We have to get to Chukula Plains!" Kion ran off with the rest of the Guard, sans Ono. "Till the Pridelands end..."

And as always, the rest of the Guard finished for him. "Lion Guard defend!"

Ono was quite despondent watching his friends leave. He had been sitting in the background the whole time. "At least the members who CAN defend."

Rafiki continued to work on the painting, but was still stuck on his creative block. "Ugh. Why? Why!? It is still not right!"

Having nothing better to do, Ono flew down to the painting. Despite only being able to see half well, he could tell Rafiki was doing a good job. "It looks fine to me, Rafiki. It's just like all the other Lion Guard paintings."

"That is the problem." Rafiki began to explain. "The new Lion Guard. It is not like the others. Yet it should be simple. Their leader, and those he leads."

Ono wasn't much of a painter, but he still wanted to give some insight. He focused on what Rafiki said about Kion's Guard being different. "Try focusing on that. Our Guard not being like the others." Rafiki liked where Ono was going with this. "If we stand out so much, that should be what you focus on. Showing we're our own team."

It didn't take long for Rafiki to figure it out thanks to Ono's perspective. "Haha! Kion! He does not just lead you. You are all friends!" Rafiki laughed a bit more at his revelation. "Yes, yes! You all belong together! Thank you, Ono. That's the insight I needed! I know now what I must do!"

"We DO belong together. All of us." Ono realized. His devotion to his friends reignited. "Eye, or no eye, My place is with the Guard." Ono got ready to head off and help his friends. He smiled to Rafiki before he headed off. "Thanks, Rafiki. I have to find my friends." He flew off to join them, eager to play his part. "I gotta get going if I'm gonna catch up with them!"

Near the zebra grazing grounds, Janja was getting ready to execute his plan. He was in position near a pile of rocks he had to knock down. After observing the area, he went over to Cheezi. He just finished putting some of the rocks into place. "There. Why're we doin this, Janja? We can't eat rocks!"

Just then, Chungu was heard chewing on a rock. Janja and Cheezi looked at him, causing him to drop it. "What?"

Janja rolled his eyes before responding to Cheezi. "Those with rocks for brains will try." He then explained his plan. Again. "It's to trap the Lion Guard. And before you ask, it's not to eat them."

"Hurry! This way!" Kion's voice was heard from nearby, prompting Janja to the Guard charging into the cavern. Janja preemptively shushed Cheezi and Chungu before giving a devious grin. Kion laughed to himself as he thought of something. "I just realized we're about to see a spotted creature chasing a striped creature."

Bunga laughed as well after Kion brought it up. "Yeah, that's true. I wonder how THEY feel about that."

"Now!" On Janja's command, Cheezi pushed down his rock pile. This caused Kion, Bunga, Fuli, and Beshte to grind to a halt. They stopped right in front of the rocks as they fell, coughing from the resulting dust.

Kion tried to keep his spirits up, putting his confident smile on to mask his stress. He also made the call to go the long way. "Guess the zebras will have to wait."

"Longer than you think." Janja retorted to himself before knocking down a big rock. This caused it to fall onto a bigger rock, which fell down towards the path.

It blocked the Guard's way out and started causing a rock slide. Kion made the best call he could at that moment. "Take cover!"

A big flat rock fell on Beshte, who held it up to protect the others. Fuli zipped under it before calling to Kion and Bunga. "Kion! Bunga!"

Kion and Bunga made their way to the rock just as the rockslide stopped. Once they were all there, Kion checked on his team. "You guys okay?"

"Yep."

"I'm good."

After Beshte and Fuli confirmed their status, Bunga expressed his love for the chaos. "Let's do that again!"

"Name the time and place." Kion said with a sarcastic eye roll. His words to Beshte were sincere. "Thanks, Beshte."

"Poa." Beshte said before pushing the rock off his body.

Kion observed both sides, struggling a little to handle the pressure. "Hevi Kabisa."

Fuli quickly figured out that this wasn't a coincidence. "What are the chances of two rock slides making two walls in one day? With us in the middle!"

"I'm right there with ya, Fuli." Kion replied. "Janja must have planned this."

"Ya got that right, Kion!" Janja called from above. When Kion looked up, Janja couldn't resist taunting him. "Guess you're in kind of a rocky situation!" Janja laughed before making another bad rock pun. "Looks like your mission to stop us is on the rocks! Cause you can't do a rocking thing to stop me!"

"Okay, I think that's enough rock puns for fourteen years!" Kion called up before attempting to climb the rockwall. Even with his claws, the rocks were too flat to climb. "Whatever; I'll still stop you!"

"And how're you gonna do it from way down there!?" Janja called down, taunting Kion and getting on his nerves. "Aww, poor little lion cub. Protector of the Pridelands, stuck behind a big ol wall!" Cheezi and Chungu laughed as Kion started tapping his paw again. He tried not to let his anxiety cloud his mind. "Face it, Kion! Ya fell right into my trap! Or, my trap fell right onto you!" Janja, Cheezi, and Chungu laughed as they walked off. "Cmon, boys! All the zebra ya can eat. And more." On the way down, Janja, Cheezi, and Chungu sang a reprise of their song. "Outta the way! (Outta the way!) Outta the way! (Outta the way!)"

"Now we can feast on bird and beast!" The three all sang together. "Now they're outta the way! Now they're outta the way!"

Back down in the hole, Bunga urged Kion to blast the rocks away. "What're you waitin for, Kion? Use the roar! Blast that wall!"

"Not while the zebras are on the other side!" Kion exclaimed, shaking his head to figure out what to do. "The rocks could fly out and hurt the herd, or even kill them. I won't risk that."

"Oh, right." Bunga said in realization. He then gestured to the wall behind them. "Then blast THIS wall! We were willing to take the detour anyway!" He came to a realization then too. "Oh, wait."

Fuli finished Bunga's thought for him. "Then, it'll be too late."

Beshte saw a rock that looked like one he could move. "I think I can move this rock. Maybe it'll make an opening big enough for us to squeeze through."

"Worth a shot. Go for it, Beshte!" Kion instructed, glad they were supposedly getting somewhere.

Beshte started moving the rock, his mark glowing as he used all his might. "Twende Kiboko!"

However, some of the rocks began falling from the top of the rockslide and towards Beshte. "Beshte; watch out!" Beshte got out of the way in time, and Kion checked to make sure he wasn't hurt. "Beshte. You okay?"

"I'm okay." Beshte said assuredly. "Sorry that didn't work."

"We'll get there, Beshte." Kion assured Beshte, trying to contain himself as he looked around. "We just need a plan that WILL work."

"Guys! Guys!" Ono called from above, descending to his friends, who were all glad to see him. "I don't know how I can help yet, but I still want to do good by you guys. And the Pridelands. So I'm here to help!"

"You flew all the way here?" Beshte asked, impressed with Ono's dedication. "You must be feeling better."

"Nope. Still just the one eye." Ono said worriedly.

"You still did it, Ono. You flew here!" Kion responded, already being quite proud of Ono. "And that gives me an idea." He walked up to Ono to share this idea. "Ono, I'm gonna use the roar to blast those rocks."

Ono instantly realized what Kion wanted him to do. And he was as eager as ever to do it. "And with the zebra herd on the other side, you want me to get them to move! I won't waste a second, Kion!"

And a second, Ono did not waste. He flew over to the zebra herd, which was led by Thurston. "If you would, please follow me away from the canyon." He started leading them off, but they didn't follow. "This way! Don't push!" Ono quickly realized they were ignoring him. He flew down to Thurston, since he'd met him before. "Zebra with the weird head tuft! Get your herd moving!" Ono landed in front of him as he started to get frustrated. "Perhaps I failed to emphasize the significance of following me!"

"We're eating here; can't you see that?" Thurston informed Ono before getting back to his food.

As if Ono needed to be informed of that. "Can't eat if you're dead!" Thurston raised an eye to Ono, who explained the situation. "Also, I CAN see that you're eating. But what YOU can't see is that the hyenas are coming!"

"Hyenas?" That caught Thurston's attention. "You guys chased those ruffians out of the Pridelands yesterday."

"That's what WE thought!" Ono started to explain. "Except when we were chasing them I got dirt in my eye; please don't comment on the eyepatch. It made it hard to fly! I still tried, but I accidentally dive bombed my friends and-" That gave Ono an idea. "They all had to run." Ono observed the herd before getting ready. "You guys like running around like idiots, right?"

"When we're in danger, yes." Thurston admitted before giving a poshy laugh. "It's more of our traditional safety measure. We'd never do it for no reason."

That's what Ono thought. He gave a grin before flying up. "Be right back." Ono flew up high into the sky l and instantly started dive bombing at the zebras. "Move it!" This time, he managed to avoid the risk of actually hitting anyone.

They almost instantly started running with Thurston calling out to his herd. "Panic and run! Panic and run!"

Janja, Cheezi, and Chungu were still singing Outta The Way on the way down. "Outta the way. Outta the way-hay."

Janja was stunned by what he saw the zebra herd running, and Cheezi and Chungu were confused. "Hey. Where's lunch going?"

Janja already had a fierce response to Chungu's question. "Our stomachs." He growled before commanding Cheezi and Chungu. "Cmon, boys. After em!"

Ono was still flying above the zebras to make sure they escaped in time. He laughed at how successful he was. "I knew I could get you to move!"

Bunga was incredibly happy as he peeked through a hole. "Wow. Ohoho."

"See anything, Little B?" Beshte asked from behind.

Bunga nodded his head yes, much to Fuli's delight. "Really? Did Ono get the zebras to move?"

"Oh, I dunno. All I see are rocks." Bunga responded, leading to Fuli moaning and rolling her eyes.

Kion was confident that Ono could pull this off. "If I know Ono, he won't stop until he sees this through."

"Kion! Kion!" Ono called, flying back into the cavern to give the news. He was quite tired from the extra effort he was putting in. "The zebras, are on the move! You're all clear to roar!"

"Thanks, Ono!" Kion replied, allowing the others to get behind him as he got ready to roar. "Stay back, everyone. It's time to use my trump card." Like all the times before, Kion used the bare minimum with his roar.

Janja, Cheezi, and Chungu stopped right in front of the rock wall that was now vibrating. That stumped them, and when they looked back, Chungu's reaction said it all. "Uh-Oh." The three hyenas got blasted alongside the rocks, which created a big cloud of dust. The zebras took notice as the dust stopped right before reaching them. Janja, Cheezi, and Chungu fell to the ground. Upon getting up, a pebble hit Janja on the head.

The Guard made their way to the hyenas with Kion smugly calling to Janja. "Eat that, Janja! Guess your plan doesn't rock as hard as you thought!"

Terrible pun aside, Janja did have one last plan for the day. "I got plenty of plans, Kion! Uh, new plan, fellas. Run!" The hyenas ran off, but before they left, Janja called to the Guard. "You haven't seen the last of me!"

After the trio of hyenas left, Kion complimented Ono's performance. "Good job, Ono. We couldn't have done it without you."

Ono's heart melted with that confirmation. Thankfully, he managed to contain himself enough to avoid crying tears of joy. His smile said everything. "Thanks, Kion."

Days later, Ono made a full recovery. Rafiki had also finished the painting, much to his joy. "Yes yes yes! Now it is right!" The painting was the heads of Kion, Bunga, Fuli, Beshte, and, last but not least, Ono. "The leader of the Lion Guard, and his friends."

Kion was the first to give his praises. "It's perfect, Rafiki." He also encouraged Ono to use his restored eyesight. "What do YOU think, Ono?"

"I think..." Ono began, and then he turned to Raifki. "It's the best painting I've ever seen."

"That means a great deal to me, coming from the Keenest of Sight." Rafiki responded proudly. His words made Ono beam with joy. When he tapped the painting, it formed all five figures into a group. Kion was in between Bunga and Fuli, Beshte was above those three, and Ono was above them all. This amazed all five members of the Guard by a wide margin. "This Lion Guard is best together."
