Its been a long time Fanfiction, don't know if I'm coming back or not but wanted to try this story out to test the waters.

Seto Kaiba's lashes fluttered open, revealing eyes like shards of icy steel. Above him, an endless black sky that seemed more like the ceiling of a cave loomed above him, the burning air and heat in of itself suffocated him. He sat up swiftly, his hand bracing against a ground that felt unusually hot for a stone cave. The sharp angles of his jaw tensed as he scanned his surroundings, each breath lacking the oxygen that the previous one gave him.

No skyscrapers. No duel arenas. No machines humming beneath his feet. Just an expanse of impossible flames that reached the sizes of trees with floating rocks scattered around as far as the horizon could reach. His brow furrowed, skepticism carving lines into his face. "Atem," he muttered, his voice slicing through the silence like a scalpel. His jaw locked at the memory of the Pharaoh's parting words—a challenge laced in condescension.

Kaiba rose to his feet, the coattails of his pristine white jacket catching the light and glowing faintly, a detail he didn't care to notice. Determination flared in his eyes as he adjusted his duel disk. "So this is the Pharaoh's grand test," he spat, voice low and venomous. "A cheap parlor trick dressed up as a realm. Pathetic." Yet even as the words left his lips he couldn't deny the fact that he himself was able to enter into the realm of the pharaoh, would it be so far-fetched to believe that he could send him into another plain known as the duel monster's spirit realm? It certainly sounded like a fantasy that only a fool like wheeler would believe.

A sudden distant roar rumbled through the blazing expanse, low and guttural, vibrating through the very stones beneath Kaiba's feet. His head snapped toward the sound, his calculating eyes narrowing. At the edge of the flaming horizon, a massive silhouette rose from the fire—a creature unlike anything he'd seen before.

The dragon emerged, its enormous wings slicing through the flames as its scarlet scales glowed with an almost molten sheen. Its elongated body twisted with terrifying power, the fire licking at its form as if it were part of the inferno itself. The creature's eyes burned like twin embers, locking onto Seto with a feral yet somehow intellectual intensity. It wasn't a Red-Eyes—it wasn't like anything in his meticulously curated deck or within the archives of Duel Monsters lore.

Kaiba's expression remained unreadable, but his mind raced. An unregistered dragon? Impossible. His database of Duel Monsters was exhaustive, definitive. And yet, here it stood, radiating raw power, challenging his every assumption.

The dragon's growl deepened, flames spewing from its mouth as it swept low, wings stirring the air into a scorching gale. Kaiba's coattails whipped around him, and he raised his duel disk instinctively, its systems flaring to life in response to his command. "So," he murmured, the edge of a smirk forming at the corner of his lips. "Even this realm holds surprises. Let's see what kind of opponent you'll make."

The creature answered with a deafening roar, its massive frame landing on one of the larger floating rocks that hung above in front of him. The sound alone shook the air like the crash of thunder, scattering embers in all directions as it perched atop the floating rock. Its wings stretched wide, spanning the fiery sky, while the shimmering heat warped its crimson form into something that seemed almost mythical.

Kaiba's lips parted in an involuntary twitch, his usual composure faltering for a heartbeat as the unfamiliar voice resonated deep within his mind. It wasn't audible—there were no words spoken aloud—but the presence was undeniable. The voice was commanding, laced with a regal arrogance that gripped him.

"Intruder," the voice hissed, each syllable dripping with disdain. "You would dare invade a king's domain?"

Kaiba instinctively straightened his posture, his jaw tightening as he fought the reflexive urge to glance around. It wasn't real. It couldn't be real. This wasn't how the world worked. Voices in your head belonged in fiction, not in the calculated precision of reality. And yet, there it was—a whisper he couldn't ignore. He clenched his fist, his thoughts threatening to stray. He had heard voices like this before—during his duel against Ishizu, the moment he thought his Blue-Eyes had spoken to him. And then again, in Egypt, when he had stood face-to-face with the impossible: an ancient time and the woman who bore the spirit of his dragon. But Kaiba forced himself back into the present. He wasn't here to dwell on ghosts of the past.

His piercing gaze hardened as he fixed his stare on the dragon, its ember-like eyes seeming to glimmer with intelligence. For the first time, Kaiba hesitated. Not out of fear, but out of intrigue—a momentary pause to evaluate the gravity of the situation.

"So," Kaiba muttered, his voice low and cold, though there was the faintest edge of unease beneath it. "You think calling yourself a king will make me tremble? Let me tell you something. There's only one king I recognize in this realm, and it's me."

The dragon's wings flicked, stirring the flames into a roaring vortex that engulfed its rock pedestal. The voice returned, sharper, its presence pressing against Kaiba's mind like the weight of a hundred eyes. "Arrogance blinds you, mortal. Your machines and your pride cannot shield you from the wrath of those who rule here."

Kaiba clenched his fists, his duel disk humming faintly as if in response to his growing resolve. "Talk all you want, lizard. But you'll find that I don't bow to anyone—dragon or duelist."

The creature's roar split the air, its voice drowning out even the crackle of the flames. The heat intensified, drawing closer with every beat of the dragon's wings, as though it were preparing to strike. Kaiba squared his shoulders, icy determination lighting his features as he activated his duel disk, the crisp, mechanical glow a beacon amidst the chaos.

"Let's settle this the only way it's worth settling," he snarled, sliding his first card onto the duel disk with a precision that spoke of practiced mastery. "In a duel. Or are you too afraid to face me and my cards?"

The flames rippled and pulsed; the red dragon's gaze fixed on Kaiba as if weighing his worth. The duel was about to begin, but Kaiba couldn't shake the feeling that this wasn't just another opponent. This was something beyond anything he'd ever encountered. And for the first time, he felt the faint stirrings of a question he'd never dared to ask—what if the spirit realm was more than an illusion? What if the Pharaoh had been right all along?

But Kaiba buried the thought as quickly as it surfaced, his smirk curling his lips once more. For now, there was only the duel—and Kaiba never lost.

"You will be made to kneel peasant" Came the commanding voice of a ruler within his mind once more as it continued, the hellish flames raising up and morphing into a duel disk that he developed years ago. "I am the king, Red Dragon Archfiend!"

"Duel" they both shouted in unison.

Red Dragon Archfiend's Turn (Turn 1): Life points 4000

The duel began with a fiery surge of momentum. Five cards drew themselves from Red Dragon Archfiends deck before levitating before him, the dragon letting out an earth-shaking roar. "You will learn the true fury of a king!" he bellowed, playing his first move.

"I activate the effect of Crimson Resonator in my hand," declared the dragon. "When I control no monsters, I can special summon this card!" Flames erupted from the field as the tuner monster took its place. Its crackling energy set the tone for the aggression to come.

"But I'm just getting started," the Archfiend hissed. "Next, I summon Red Familiar!" Another wave of fire manifested the level 4 fiend monster onto the battlefield. "With these two monsters, I tune Crimson Resonator with Red Familiar!"

The fire on the battlefield burned brighter as the resonator monster began its synchro ritual. Rings of flames encircled the monsters as the flames grew into a towering vortex. "I synchro summon Red Rising Dragon!" A crimson dragon emerged, its body pulsating with energy and power.

"Red Rising Dragon activates its effect!" the Archfiend continued. "When this card is synchro summoned, I can target one Resonator in my Graveyard and special summon it. Come back, Crimson Resonator!"

The tuner monster returned to the field, ready to continue the synchro climb. "Now I use Crimson Resonator's secondary effect! Because I control only one dark dragon synchro monster, I can summon Two Resonator Monsters from my deck to my field, so long as their names aren't Crimson Resonator!" Two blazing orbs appeared alongside the Crimson Resonator before turning into a level one and level three resonator tuner monsters.

The Archfiend smirked, its fiery voice echoing in Kaiba's mind. "And now, mortal, witness the true majesty of synchro summoning. I tune Crimson Resonator with Red Rising Dragon! The ruler's heartbeats will now file through here! Take witness to its creation-shaking power! Synchro summon! My very being, Red Demon Dragon!"

"Synchro Summon?!" questions Seto in shock at this new form of power before him.

"You bellow at such merger power; such is the way of peasants. Be in awe as I demonstrate true power! Double tuning!" roared the Red dragon archfiend as the two tuner monsters turned into four rings of fire. "The burning soul of the king and devil, give roar that created the earth and hell! synchro summon!Red Nova dragon!"

The battlefield became a storm of fire as the synchro levels surged higher, culminating in the emergence of the Red Nova Dragon, its monstrous frame dominating the field.

Seto's expression continued to falter slightly as Red Nova Dragons flames burned around it, increasing its attack power from 3500 to 5000 for each tuner monster in its graveyard. Not only that, but his high-tech duel disk scanned the effect of each card and their abilities, giving him the knowledge that not only could it increase its own attack strength but also has the effect that it can't be destroyed by card effects and that it could banish itself to negate attacks and then return during the turns end phase.

"I set one card face-down and end my turn," the Archfiend declared. "But you'll find that my next move will crush you completely."

Seto Kiba's Turn (Turn 2) Life points 4000

Kaiba drew his sixth card, his duel disk illuminating the hellish battlefield. The glow reflected off his sharp, calculating eyes as he stared at the seemingly indomitable Red Nova Dragon. The words of the pharaoh echoing in his mind of the duel spirits that inhabited this realm that they are in, new spirits and cards being born, it had sounded ludicrous at first but this new futuristic summoning intrigued him, making him wonder if there was more out there that could increase the power of his blue-eyes monsters, and destroy the pharaoh once and for all.

"It's my move, and I activate Melody of Awakening Dragon. By discarding one card I can add two cards with 3000 or more attack power and 2500 or less defense." Declared Seto, his eye twitching however at one of the cards his holographic screen showed him before choosing the two cards to add to his hand, appearing as holograms in front of him then using graceful charity to draw three cards before discarding 2.

"Next I reveal one blue eyes white dragon, to summon Blue-eyes Alternative White Dragon!" Seto shouted, as a portal of light opened from beneath the flames, the dragon emerging from within as it circled around Seto before taking its place on the field.

"That card is nothing new, no more than a relic just like its owner. Nor can its abilities harm Red Nova Dragon" spat the Red Dragon Archfiend, its venomous words making the Blue-eyes Alternative White Dragon roar in anger.

"Are you done blabbing, cause I'm not done yet. When this dragon is on the field or graveyard its name becomes Blue-eyes White Dragon, and that allows me to active Polymerization! Creating the ultimate dragon, Blue-eyes ultimate dragon but it gets even better, because I have a dear long-lost card here, and believe me when I say it hasn't lost its shine. From the ashes of perfection rises something even greater—something unstoppable. Witness the shining apex of my power! Blue-eyes Shining Dragon!"

A brilliant light shined from the three headed dragon, becoming an orb of light that shot into the blackened sky transforming it into a clear blue sky. A vortex of light stabbed into the hellish realm of the Red dragon, exploding outward, and from the radiant light emerged Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon, its luminous metallic like scales gleaming like polished crystal. Its wings stretched wide, their metallic shimmer catching every flicker of the hellish flames surrounding the battlefield. The dragon's roar reverberated through the air, its sheer presence commanding awe and fear as she flewaround Seto like a guardian angel.

"That's not possible, that dragon was lost and sealed away" spoke Red Dragon Archfiend, even as the hellish flames surrounding Red Nova Dragon rippled, bending under the sheer radiance of Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon.

"Believe me when I say that won't happen again" Announced Seto in a chillingly calm anger. "Now I activate the spell cardSoul Release to banish up to five cards from your graveyard. The three resonators, red dragon rising, and Red dragon archfiend."

"I activate my trap card, Archfiends Roar. Saving myself from being banished at the cost of 500 life points"

"Yet your tuners are gone," Kaiba said, his voice sharp as a blade. "That dragon's strength is crumbling with them—and now, my dragon will end this, Blue-eyes shining dragon, destroy his red nova dragon!"

Kaiba's Shining Dragon charged, its attack slicing through the air toward Red Nova Dragon. 'You can't escape!' Kaiba roared. But before the attack landed, the Archfiend's voice erupted: "Enough!" Flames surged as Red Nova Dragon turned into immaterial flames, slowly vanishing and leaving only heat and ash behind. "The king's flames do not bow to your light! I activate Red Nova Dragons special ability banishing itself it negates your monster's attack" spoke Red Dragon Archfiend, the monster slowly disappearing within the devil's flames.

"I think not, I activate my dragon's own ability, negating yours and thus continuing my attack" Shouted Seto, Blue-eyes Shining dragon answering his words as blinding radiance erupted from Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon, engulfing the battlefield. The devil's flames surrounding Red Nova Dragon wavered under the overwhelming light, fragments of its fiery aura breaking apart until its form was fully revealed, vulnerable and exposed. With a roar that echoed through the spirit realm, Shining Dragon unleashed a beam of pure brilliance, shattering Red Nova Dragon in a burst of glowing fragments.

The battlefield fell silent as the brilliance of Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon's attack faded, leaving only scattered fragments of energy and the distant echo of its triumphant roar. Red Nova Dragon had been obliterated, its once overwhelming presence reduced to nothing but embers floating aimlessly in the air. The oppressive flames that had consumed the spirit realm seemed to weaken, shrinking back in submission to the light of Kaiba's Shining Dragon.

Kaiba adjusted the collar of his coat, his trademark smirk returning as he addressed his opponent. "Just like I said, there's no dragon that can match my own" His voice was sharp, every word cutting like steel.

The Red Dragon Archfiend's voice hissed through the realm, laced with lingering venom and anger. "You may have defeated Red Nova Dragon, but the spirit of a king cannot be extinguished so easily. I am eternal, mortal… and this duel is far from over."

Kaiba's eyes narrowed as his duel disk whirred, signaling the end of his turn. "Your eternal flames mean nothing to me. Take your next move, Archfiend, but know this—no matter what you do, no matter what pitiful monster you summon next, the result will be the same. You will fall, and I will rise as the victor of this duel!"

Red Dragon Archfiend's Turn (Turn 3): Life points 2500

The oppressive heat of the battlefield surged anew as the Archfiend began its turn, drawing its next card with a fiery flourish. The flames that flickered in retreat after Red Nova Dragon's destruction erupted into life once more, licking at the edges of the battlefield as if preparing to consume it.

"You think you've won, mortal," the Archfiend's voice echoed, low and venomous, through the realm. "But your so-called victory is as fleeting as the brilliance of your dragons. My flames burn eternal—and I shall rise again!"

The Archfiend reached into its remaining arsenal, activating its spell card. "I play Monster Reborn, a card that allows me to summon one monster from the Graveyard. Red Rising Dragon may have been banished by your petty tactics, but the flames of my kingly self-remain! Return to the field, Red Dragon Archfiend!"

A surge of molten energy burst forth as Red Dragon Archfiend re-emerged, its crimson form rising through the firestorm. Its claws tore through the air as it let out a guttural roar, reclaiming its place on the battlefield.

The Archfiend's laughter grew deeper, filled with mockery as it regarded Kaiba and his Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon. "You rely so desperately on the Blue-Eyes to save you—on its brute strength, its attack points. You call it perfection, yet your heart betrays it at every turn."

Kaiba's eyes narrowed, but the Archfiend pressed on, its molten tone like a blade cutting through his defenses. "There was a time when you believed in strategy, in balance. But you abandoned it for power, cast away the weaker monsters that could have supported you when your mighty dragons falter. You wanted only perfection. How many cards in your deck have you thrown away, ignored, because they didn't meet your desire for dominance?"

Kaiba's smirk faltered ever so slightly, his gaze unwavering but his silence heavy.

The Archfiend's flames flared higher, emboldened by its verbal assault. "And that, mortal, is why you will lose. Your blind pursuit of strength blinds you to the truth—that there is more to victory than raw power. Even your precious Blue-Eyes knows this… but you do not."

Red Dragon Archfiend stood tall, its fiery aura pulsating with renewed intensity. The battlefield seemed to tremble beneath its power as it waited for Kaiba's response. The duel was far from over, and the spirit of the Archfiend burned brighter than ever, ready to test Kaiba's resolve in both strategy and conviction yet Seto stood motionless. His piercing gaze lingered on his Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon, its brilliance unmatched in the chaos. The Archfiend's words reverberated in his mind, sharp and cutting, burrowing into corners Kaiba rarely allowed himself to explore.

"You cast away weaker monsters," the Archfiend had said, its venomous tone laced with disdain. "You seek only perfection, betraying the very spirit that binds you to your Blue-Eyes."

Kaiba's smirk faded completely, replaced by an unreadable expression. His duel disk flickered softly, the glow mingling with the radiance of his Shining Dragon. He didn't respond. He couldn't. The words clawed at him, forcing him to confront a question he'd long buried: Why had the spirit of the Blue-Eyes chosen him? Why had Shining Dragon, emerged only now? If there were others—cards with abilities designed to strengthen Blue-Eyes further—why hadn't they appeared?

His fingers hovered over his deck, his grip tightening almost imperceptibly. What else lies in the duel monsters spirit realm? Kaiba thought, his calculating mind racing. What cards exist here that I haven't seen—cards born of duel monsters' spirits, cards destined to support Blue-Eyes? If they exist… why didn't they reveal themselves?

A wave of heat surged forward, pulling him from his thoughts. The Archfiend's laughter sliced through the battlefield, triumphant and mocking. "It seems you have no answer, mortal," it sneered, its voice echoing in Kaiba's mind. "Even now, you question your deck. You rely on your precious Blue-Eyes, yet your heart betrays the very spirit for the fleeting strength of stronger monsters. You call yourself the master of the blue-eyed dragon, it may be your pride and soul, but without your heart it is nothing, unlike the galactic dragon, Galaxy eyes photon dragon and its owner's silent heart"

Kaiba lifted his gaze to meet the Archfiend's. His jaw tightened, but his silence remained unbroken. The flames surrounding Red Dragon Archfiend roared higher, emboldened by Kaiba's lack of response. The Archfiend continued, its voice gaining strength. "If you have no answer, then let my flames speak for you! I summon Chain Resonator to the field!" A fiery portal opened, and the molten tuner monster emerged with a flash of heat, its crackling energy promising devastation.

"And now I activate Chain Resonator's effect! This allows me to special summon another Resonator monster from my deck. I summon Force Resonator!" Another ring of fire erupted, and a glowing crimson monster materialized, its energy feeding the inferno that surrounded the Archfiend.

"But that's not all," the Archfiend continued, its voice rising as the flames flared. "I activate the effect of Synkron Resonator in my hand! If I control a Synchro monster, I can special summon this card to the field!" The fiery monster shot from the Archfiend's hand, adding its molten energy to the ranks of Chain Resonator and Force Resonator.

Kaiba's sharp eyes narrowed as he watched the field fill with monsters, the gears in his mind turning. The Archfiend's strategy was clear, but Kaiba wasn't about to back down.

"And now," the Archfiend roared, its voice reverberating through the battlefield, "I tune Chain Resonator, Force Resonator, Synkron Resonator, and Red Dragon Archfiend! The king of flames ascends to his ultimate form!"

The battlefield became a maelstrom of chaos as flaming rings surrounded the monsters. Their forms dissolved into molten energy, spiraling upward into a massive vortex of fire that split the sky. The oppressive heat became suffocating, forcing Kaiba to shield himself as the energy surged higher and brighter.

"From the ruler's eternal flames, a star is born to burn all creation to ash!" The Archfiend's fiery voice roared with triumph. "I Synchro Summon Red Supernova Dragon!"

From the vortex descended a dragon of titanic proportions, its body ablaze with cosmic flames. Its wings stretched wide, trailing embers that scorched the battlefield. The very air seemed to quake beneath its presence, and its attack points burned into Kaiba's duel disk screen: 4000, with devastating abilities that promised annihilation. It's total attack equaling to5500, for each turner in the graveyard.

Kaiba's expression remained sharp, but his mind raced as his duel disk analyzed the towering monster. Red Supernova Dragon's effects flashed before him: immunity to card effects, banishing all opponent's cards when attacked, and the ability to re-summon itself. Kaiba gritted his teeth, the flames from Red Supernova Dragon licking at the edge of the field.

The Archfiend's laugh cut through the growing tension. "Behold, mortal! Red Supernova Dragon burns brighter than your weak light. Your Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon will crumble beneath its flames!" The titanic dragon roared, shaking the very foundation of the battlefield.

"Red Supernova Dragon, attack Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon!" The cosmic flames surged toward Shining Dragon, a blazing attack that threatened to consume Blue-eyes Shining Dragon.

The battlefield trembled as the cosmic inferno of Red Supernova Dragon's attack engulfed Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon. Flames twisted and coiled through the air, threatening to consume the radiant beast in an instant. But Kaiba's duel disk flared with power, illuminating the scene with a surge of defensive energy.

"Did you truly believe your dragon's flames could erase my dragon?" Seto's voice was sharp, unwavering. His smirk deepened as the ethereal form of Return of the Dragon Lords shimmered around his Shining Dragon, forming an impenetrable barrier of light.

"Yet you still take damage, and for you mortal it will feel real" commented Red Dragon Archfiend, the flames biting around Seto's lower body singeing his clothes.
