Author's notes:

Hello! Here is another Nier x Monster Hunter Fanfic.

This is was a Fic that I had in mind for a long time and wanted to incorporate some ideas that I couldn't in my other Fanfic Nier: MSHT (Still ongoing/writing).

This is Fic would generally be more on family fluff and playing with the lore of both franchise. Mainly Monster Hunter lore and incorporating Nier/Drakengard 3 lore in the mix. Basically, a Nier Monster Hunter AU.

But this story would lead to future interconnected stories that this Author would hopefully continue to write in this franchise crossover.

P.S. For the Length of this story, this author is only aiming for 12 chapters and would add more, if there is a need to write. As I'm trying to not make this story to wordy like my first Nier x Monster Hunter fic.

Lastly again, if you don't like the story, no need to read it. And comments plus fav/kudos are appreciated.

Without further ado, here is the first chapter enjoy!

Chapter 1: Zero

When her husband died, Zero thought she would be spending the rest of her life just by herself with the little ones they made together.

Expected to raise their babies—twins to be exact—by her own lonesome. Dreading whether taking care of them will be as difficult or even harder than her pregnancy carrying both of them.

But for the past two years since the death of her husband, she was able to manage living with her small family. Zero got to balance her work and domestic life, somehow overcoming the initial difficulties of child rearing.

Granted, she had close friends—admittedly—helping her in her times of need. Lending an ear if she needed to vent some frustrations common to what new mothers would face. Or offering support during her times of grief, bouts of sorrow that still hits from losing her spouse. With Zero at times, wishes her husband was still with her and raising their kids together like they dreamed together…after that one fun night of debauchery.

Her friends were also vital whenever she needed someone to watch over and babysit her kids in a daycare. Especially when she had to juggle her job too in her daily life.

Since besides being a mother, Zero's other role was also as a hunter. A Monster Hunter in particular.

An occupation, which was essential in the world she and the rest of humanity lived in. Fighting to protect the delicate balance of the ecosystem, between humanity and the monsters existing beside them.

From different wyverns, leviathans, fanged beasts, and dragons, all kinds of unique creatures both dangerously powerful and admittedly amazing to witness being alive and walking about. But are incredible difficult to coexists, as powerful entities in direct competition for survival in their world.

Which is why, being a Monster Hunter's was a dangerous life with high risks and high rewards.

Slaying powerful creatures to defend humanity and nature as a whole, while harvesting a good source of raw materials from the slain, for mankind to use in their livelihood. As monster parts are very valuable and practical, with humanity's ingenuity. From many parts, organs, or even crystallize gems filled with energy, becoming a valuable resource to help create tools, equipment, or create basic necessities for everyday life.

And for Zero, being a hunter was good profession for her. Perfect even.

She possessed skills and the strength to be a good hunter by trade, and is one of the rare individuals of humanity born with the natural talents too.

Getting payed well enought that she can afford all the living essential she needs for her family. While also allowing enough money to raise her little girls comfortably.

Though, it didn't take the difficulty away of being a mother. As higher paying jobs came from high ranking and urgent quests. Which always forced Zero to head away from the village for extended periods of time, barely coming home before the night sets and to tuck her girls to sleep.

Balancing her work and domestic life was always a struggle. Especially when the single hunter mom wanted to dedicate more time for her cute brats.

Twice so, when her really cute brats... can be adorable little troublemakers.

Little hellions, who run around causing a mess despite mommy telling them to not leave their toys around in the house. And they would rather play with their food and not eat them, despite mommy telling them not to make a mess. Before lodging their spoons at the ceiling because they didn't like their veggies.

It doesn't help Zero, knowing her children were one of the rarer babies born inheriting her hunter strength naturally. Leading to the really cute superhuman toddlers causing Zero some sleepless nights, due to their enhance stamina and child energy.

Yet, becoming her little angels when they finally rest their eyes and cuddle with their momma.

Honestly, there were times Zero would admit that she finds it easier being a hunter than being a mother. Because at least the monsters know when to quit and remember night-time is bed-time. And if they didn't, then Zero would put them to sleep... permanently.

And it only got harder when she had the kids go to daycare. As a lieu of new problems arise when you put hunter kids with enhanced strength with other regular toddlers. Some that Zero has been hearing frequently were cases of broken toys, playing too rough, and beating up a wannabe bully. The latter most causing the most grief, but more for the other parents than to Zero.

But even with the flaws, struggles, fights, and numerous complaints towards her little tykes of being a handful, Zero still loves them all the same. With no regrets whatsoever of having them her current life.

When she first held her kids, felt their tiny warm bodies cradled in her arms, Zero made a promise to herself—and to her late husband—that she would do her best to raise them right the best she could do. Even as worries rose, whether she had what it takes to be a good mom, and not end up like her own deadbeat abusive egg donor.

(On one hand, she hasn't, nor will she ever, consider selling her children once they were of age. So that's already a win in her standards.)

And she remembers the other shared promise she had with her husband. To not squander the opportunity and second chance they have for a better and just life.

Especially after leaving all the tragedies, sins, and tribulations of their past and start anew.

So, regardless of her job, her status as a single mom, or whatever curve balls and fuckery the world will throw at her, Zero decided to keep her promises and live her life to the fullest.

Or die trying, while showing the world how stubborn of a woman she could be. Even if the cynic within her will say otherwise, expecting the worst.

Until one Tuesday... Zero and her daughters' lives would forever be change, after a chance encounter in the daycare.

The weather was fine, and the forest was quiet and peaceful for the day.

Zero was coming home from a successful hunt, with no additional troubles or complications that arose from her travel back to home. Walking along the roads leading to the village, and for those passerby and locals who saw her, would not find the hunter an unusual sight. Even with the small following of felynes pushing the cart of her latest kill.

Nowadays, people didn't bat an eye for Monster Hunters and their hunts.

Behind Zero, the large cart being pulled by the felynes carried the carcass of a large leviathan class monster called a Mizustune. With this specific individual was causing some troubles at one of their villages normal trade routes, as the quest commissioned by the guild mentioned.

The catlike humanoids were struggling a bit from hauling the large foxlike monster and Zero couldn't blame them, as she guessed slaying a large gold crown size specimen. No doubt part of the reason why someone commissioned to hunt it, as larger monsters often lead to big problems, as big as their appetites.

She slowed her steps keeping close to the cart, guarding the felynes and her catch. Knowing it would do no good to lose it after spending the entire day hunting it. And she needed the monster whole as proof to get her pay anyway, plus the extra materials she can keep from it.

At least her armor had an impromptu wash, as Mizustunes are known to weaponizing bubbles, which could ruin a hunter's day from slipping around due to the soap like substance. But for Zero and her skills, it simply became a free wash for her custom-made gear that was layered and transmogrified to resemble a revealing white dress, with slits on the side, paired with elbow length gloves and thigh high white boots, and a small cape on the back. All for the purpose of more mobility to complement her speed and agility in a fight. Lastly, even her eye-patched remained pristine, being one last equipment she wouldn't be worried in cleaning later.

Funny to her, Zero could claim she would be coming home for once without blood staining her gear.

Growing even happier as she nears the entrance to the village of Kamura. The place where her home and family is.

A remote eastern/oriental aesthetic style village, in a region neighboring the more popular Yukumo village. Known as well for their sword smithing and creation of tempered steel. And also, in the words of Zero, 'filled with a bunch of wire-bug zipping junkies and ninja-samurai warriors riding Canynes.'

But it was home nonetheless for the hunter no matter the quirks. And it was also a place she or her late husband had grown fond off and didn't regret in their decision to settle in.

Sure, the people were very homey and tight knit—at times a bit too much for Zero's loner and anti-social tendencies—but she acted less of jerk to the general community of the village than she was to other villages outside Kamura. And while some were aware of her past and dark history, the fact they accepted Zero despite of it, helped in part of her trusting and opening up to the village too.

Which made Kamura perfect and a good environment that was well protected too, for raising kids that even Zero cannot deny.

Which is why she held a small smile as she and her felyne entourage entered the village, as the hunter was excited to reunite with her daughters and pick them up from the daycare.

Hopefully with no trouble or angry parent with a complaint against her kids. Though, knowing her daughters, one of them may have accidentally hurt another child or broken one of their toys… Again.

But they can't help it though from not knowing their own strengths. They are Zero's daughters and are children of a monster hunter. So being physically stronger than the average toddler was to be expected. And it was hard for Zero to tell the girls to be more careful when playing or explain why they have to be gentle when handling another kid's toy, not when they didn't understand the concept of average strength.

Leading only the Ancients to know the entire list of apologies on behalf of her children, that Zero has used towards other parents and crying toddlers before during the early daycare days.

Hell, she count on one hand the ones she hasn't used or made up yet. And she was hoping she wouldn't have to add any more in the list.

But just as she approached the main guild building of the village, she found elder Fugen with a grimace and an apologetic nod directed to her.

Zero sighed and decide to get this over with.

Unaware that this time, things would be different.

.

.

.

Bolting straight from the main hub to the daycare after finishing matters with the Guild, Zero ran as quickly as she could.

Normally she would have taken her time, but after finding Minoto absent from her desk, and even master Hojo giving the same subtle message of trouble from the daycare to her again—which was becoming a regular occurrence—Zero knew she had to head to her babies asap.

She jogged and jumped through the streets of Kamura, passing well established shops and landmarks like an agile ninja, passing through the hunter's market and the steel mill at the center of the village, not caring the quick looks and knowing stares passing villagers gave her.

Zero was already well known in Kamura, both as a hunter and a mother to two of the most adorable hellions born in the village, and they knew what it meant when she was dashing her way to the daycare.

Master Hamon, the local blacksmith of the village, saw her and gave a shake of his head. Pausing in his hammering as Zero zoom past him, and giving a short prayer for the best towards the single mother before resuming his work.

And when Zero was close to the building housing the Kamura Daycare, she could already see Hinoa, a beautiful Wyverian woman in her red and white kimono and also Minoto's sister, waiting for her and not hard to miss the worrying expression etched on her face.

"Zero!" Hinoa waved to Zero as she finally approached her.

"Hinoa…" Zero couldn't helped to catch her breath as she stopped in front of the wyverian. Before giving a resigned look, at whatever bad news the woman was going to give her.

"Okay, give it to me straight. And how bad is it?" Zero asked.

"Did my girls play too rough with the other kids, again? Did someone try to steal Moosie from 2B, and end up getting a bruise? Or did A2 push hard against one of the kids picking on her, and end up flying through the wall? Again?! …Oh please tell me I'm not paying for another child to visit doctor Zenchi?!"

Hinoa only grimaced, which didn't help the panic rising within Zero. And yet what the wyverian girl said next, caught the hunter surprised.

"Actually, Lady Zero…" Hinoa hesitated briefly. "Your kids aren't...exactly, at fault. For once... Well at least half of them…"

Zero blinked. "What?"

Hinoa resumes, with her next word surprising the mother. "Yeah… actually, A2 was the one who got pushed. Pushed down. By another kid."

"A2… got pushed?" That was… not what Zero expected, as she slowly repeated Hinoa's words in disbelief. "By another... kid? Like really another kid... was able to push A2?"

Hinoa made a small nod in response, which further confused the white clad hunter.

"Are you sure?" Zero asked, oddly calm despite the news she received by Hinoa of her child potentially getting hurt.

Who was also perplex from the hunter's behavior and expecting a more explosive response.

"You know A2's my daughter?"

"Yes... I was there when she and her sister came out of... you."

"Yeah, both born with hunter strength?"

"Yes, Lady Zero. They are one of the rare few babies who directly inherited their hunter's parent strength."

"So, how could you tell me A2 got pushed by another kid with her strength?" Zero asked once more with disbelief.

As her A2. The one toddlers her age have come to call the white-haired puncher, and their parents labeling her as the gorilla child. The source to multiple parent complaints, grievances, and apologies sent to adults— of hopefully not traumatized, kids.

And she was pushed…by another kid. And actually pushed down to the ground, as she would assume from Hinoa's words.

To say Zero was appalled would be an understatement, as she really couldn't believe what she just heard. Unless the kid was another hunter's child or probably much older and got the daycare rooms mixed. With the latter still unlikely, as even 7 year olds were afraid of A2, and stayed clear of the rooms she and her sister were in.

"I'm sorry Lady Zero, I wasn't there when it happened. And only have the other kid's accounts to know of the incident." Hinoa could only shrugged, admitting of not knowing how it happened, but she adds another piece of information that really threw Zero off.

"And A2... also, cried..."

"SHE CRIED?!"

And now Zero was worrying if she was falling to a delusion. As A2 has never cried, unless it was for food or from a really sad story. And never in front of strangers or other kids her age.

While her thoughts were in disarray, a surge of maternal instinct took over Zero.

"Where are they Hinoa?" she said sternly.

While the Wyverian woman was happy to obliged and take Zero to her children.

"Right this way, Lady Zero."

"MOMMY!" A long white haired child cried out.

Which Zero heard as she entered the daycare room assigned for her kids. She easily found the source of the voice, spotting her daughter come running towards her with arms outstretched and a slightly teary eyed face.

"A2, baby!" Zero crouched down to pick up and pull her into an embrace. She felt A2 nuzzle against her neck, no doubt seeking comfort, while she began peppering kisses on her babies tiny head.

"Mommy is here now baby. It's okay..."

"M-Momma-a..."

Hinoa entered the room right after Zero, no doubt to help mediate between A2 and kid who pushed her. The former explained to the latter more or less the general gist of the situation she got, from the accounts of the other daycare kids.

Basically, they saw another kid playing with toys that had one of them belonging to 2B. A2, seeing another playing with her sister's toy, thought the other kid was stealing it and a fight proceeded that led to A2 being pushed down.

Unfortunately, Hinoa couldn't give the complete explanation of the whole incident, because she was busy around that time the kids started fighting and wasn't there to witness what really happened.

But Hinoa did reveal to Zero that her other child 2B, gave her own account of what happened, after the wyverian arrived in the room and found a crying A2.

Now both Zero and Hinoa could only hope that the latter's kids, and the alleged pushing perpetrator would be honest in their accounts.

"Mama, someone pushed me!" Little A2 whined, as she pulled and flashed her mom her baby blue eyes and pouted with puff up cheeks. "He pushed hard, and I fell…"

He. Zero took note as she caressed A2's head and rubbing her back.

"Oh, A2. I heard…. Are you okay. Were you hurt?" She spoke, with a touch of motherly affection, while A2 shook her head and continues to hug her mommy.

"I've also heard that you picked a fight again. Is this true?" Zero asked, tone neutral, while observing A2 stilled in her arms and didn't give an immediate response.

Which meant it was true that A2 was the instigator, but that also means the possibility of the other kid stealing one of their toys could be true. Since knowing her own kids, they wouldn't respond aggressively without a good reason.

Still, Zero did have some conflicting feelings in her chest. Since, well…

On one hand…

There was a raging inferno of mama bear energy inside Zero, ready to defend her child regardless if they were in the right or wrong. Promising to give this He—A boy no doubt—A piece of her mind and due punishment for hurting her child.

But on the other hand…

She felt that there was a karmic sense of justice—in a weird way—from the universe. For all the times A2 was the aggressor and pushed a lot of kids to the ground. Because either they deserve it, or A2 didn't really like them and got violent in response.

The latter was a side of A2 no doubt inherited from her mother, which Zero was trying to curb or nurture out of her child. Wanting both of her children to be better than her in managing their temperamental attitudes.

But now her daughter was in the received end from being pushed by another kid. And how the tables of turned, and wondered if some lesson would be learn from this. Something on the line, of thinking twice before pushing other kids or how it feels being pushed.

Eh… Either way Zero didn't know really. Except for her own thoughts on the Toddler who pushed A2.

As the little one may have skipped to puberty to have the balls to do so. And actually pretty impressive to be brave enough to pick a fight with A2, willingly.

Zero wanted to meet this kid first, before deciding an appropriate response and try to get to the bottom of this. As right now, the mother of two would prefer to settle this issue peacefully—and quickly before the other parent arrives and things get complicated.

And she suspects there is a bigger picture to why A2 and another kid got into a shoving fight, with both parties guilty in some manner. As A2 might have reacted violently to a misunderstanding, and the kid who pushed her probably responded to defend himself. Zero would at least give the other toddler the benefit of doubt.

It's a good thing she had Hinoa to help her. And another of her brood who was involve and apparently important to the case. She may hopefully shed some light to the situation and help resolve it easily.

"A2… where is your sister, 2B?" Zero asked nicely, while pointedly locking eyes to her eldest child and older of the twins she given birth to.

"I heard from Miss Hinoa that you got into an argument with 2B too. And involved with this pushing… issue."

"Indeed Lady Zero. And if I must say, 2B actually sided with the other kid in this situation. Even defending him." Hinoa adds, just as Zero was wondering where is 2B.

Since whenever she arrives at the daycare, the twins normally come rushing to her arms together. Yet from Hinoa's words, A2 responded with a cute scowl and an angry huff.

Which caused Zero to raise a brow, before watching A2 point a finger to the direction were 2B is.

"She's there…" A2 spoke as if she was spotting a traitor who betrayed her. And when Zero and Hinoa turned their gaze to where she was pointing to, they found a girl in similar appearance to A2, but sporting shorter hair and wearing a headband.

Who was also standing in front of one of the small tables in the room, where all the kids would eat during their snack time. And two chairs were also oddly placed right on each side of 2B, while she stretch her hands as if blocking something from their view.

Or rather someone under the table, who both Zero and Hinoa could see, was shuffling in place hiding and obscuring their figure enough to see them clearly.

2B sported a defiant look when she locked eyes with A2 before expression turned into worry as she saw her mom and Hinoa looking at her.

Both Zero and Hinoa called to her.

"2B, its mommy. Why are you over there?"

"Yes 2B, is something wrong?"

For a moment 2B looked hesitant to reply, glancing briefly behind her, no doubt to the person she was hiding from their view. Before addressing Zero and Hinoa.

"It's not his fault!" 2B answers heatedly, already protesting. Which inadvertently caused A2 to start to argue.

"Yes it is!" Her sister yelled back with equal vigor.

"No it's not!" 2B shouted, firing back with a glare..

The twins proceeded to raise their voice, as their argument escalated much to Zero's dismay.

"HE PUSHED ME!"

"A2 PUSHED FIRST!"

"HE WAS STEALING MOOSIE!"

"HE WAS NOT! HE WAS NOT! HE WAS NOT!"

A2 was pounding her tiny fist on Zero as she continue to bicker with 2B. The latter also stomping her feet in frustration.

The huntress knew she had to put a stop to it. They weren't going anywhere if her daughters continue to argue.

And as their mother, she was the adult responsible to keep the conversation on track and—

"KIDS! KNOCK IT OFF!"

—And be loudest one in the room, speaking sternly with her 'mom' voice as it echoed.

Even Hinoa shook from the volume of Zero's tone, before casting slightly disapproving look towards the hunter.

Said hunter did feel a bit shameful for her action, but Zero had to get through to her kids since they could be pretty stubborn. Another trait they got from their mama.

Fortunately 2B and A2, not even flinching from their mother's raised voice, immediately stopped yelling at each other. Quieting down but still glaring at one another before turning away with a huff and crossed arms. Waiting for their mother on how to proceed.

"Okay..." Zero sighed in relief, managing to get her kids to ceasefire and if her arms were free she would have pinched the bridge of her nose.

Deciding to get closer to 2B, Zero stood and walked slowly as she approach her second child. While 2B tensed in response and began to look worried, no doubt to the person she was hiding as she gave not so subtle glances. And as the distance between them got smaller, 2B's expression began to shows signs of panic and fear, her feet shuffling nervously.

Zero sensed a bit of movement under the table, guessing the kid that was hiding retreated away and distancing himself. To the point even if Zero tried to take a peek pass 2B, she would need bend down and look under the table directly.

No matter. The kid can stay hidden for the time being, until Zero calls for him to come out later. Regardless of any protest from 2B.

Placing A2 down, but keeping her eldest child to the side of her hip, Zero began to gingerly reach out to 2B one hand out stretched.

She saw 2B flinched slightly in response and closed her eyes, causing Zero's heart to stir before her hand finally reach the top of her head. Gently patting and stroking 2B's hair, giving some motherly assurance.

2B's eyes open and blink in surprise, as her mother continues to rub her head.

"2B, baby... I need you to tell me what happened." Zero asked gently as she brings her other hand to cup the younger twins cheek.

"I'm not angry" Not yet exactly and depends on what I hear. Zero thought, as she explains. "But can you tell mommy why did someone push A2? Or why are you fighting with your sister as well?"

2B still trembled despite her mother's comforting touch, but she spoke with worry still in her voice.

"Mama, it's not his fault! He didn't do wrong!"

A2 was about to retort, but Zero quickly placed her free hand on the older twin's head and began petting and stroking her hair. Zero also briefly gave A2 a look to behave and let mommy handle it.

A2 huffs, pouting before she decides to sit back but still clung to Zero's side.

While said mother turns her attention back to 2B and asks. "Can you explain? And can you tell mommy who it is you're hiding?"

The younger twin purses her lips, before nodding her head. "He's my friend, mama..."

Both Zero and Hinoa were surprised at the admission, the two sharing a perplexed glance with each other, while also mentally agreeing that this new information explains a lot for their current predicament.

"You made a friend, 2B?" Curious, Zero became more invested. Since she knew how the other kids in the daycare were scared of A2 and 2B, making befriending them near impossible.

But 2B became more enthusiastic with her response. "Yes, mama! I made a friend!"

"He saw me playing by myself and asked if he can play with me! He wasn't scared of me and he talks a lot to me too! And he knows many things like, like—playing house! And we played house with Moosie, and with other toys he borrowed!"

Zero was taken back at how fast 2B was talking or how talkative she became, yet felt her chest warm at how happy her little girl sounded. Even A2 at her side stopped pouting, and was listening in as she was also curious, since she's never seen her sister act like this before.

"We played tag and he didn't get mad when we fell down together!"

"Really?"

"Yes, and he said I was really fast! And he liked my bow! He liked my black bow mama!"

"Oh, of course he'd liked it. Mommy told you it was cute on you didn't she?"

2B giggled at Zero's latter response, before her enthusiasm slowly died down as she began to hesitate once more.

"But, b-but... Ni—my friend wanted to read story books. And I said I'll get them for him since he didn't know yet where Miss Hinoa keeps them at the drawers. So I told him, he could play with Moosie while I get the books—"

Zero cuts in, with a raise eyebrow. "You allowed someone to play Moosie?"

"Yes, I did..." 2B answers with a nod, then briefly glances at A2, who pouts again but appears to look a bit guilty. "But I didn't tell anyone..."

"Oh..." Zero could tell where 2B's story was going.

"...Then, when I got back A2 was fighting with my friend and saying that he was stealing Moosie. But he was not Mama! And A2 wasn't listening then she took Moosie from him and pushed him down!"

Ah... there it is. Zero thought. She could imagine why A2 did what she did. Always so protective for her sister and it wasn't the first time A2 lashes out because one kid tried to steal Moosie from 2B. Although, this time it was a misunderstanding and it's no surprise why 2B was vehement in defending her friend.

"I was scared Mama..." 2B admits, as her eyes begin water. "I-I thought... m-my new friend was going to r-run away... and he looked lie he was going to cry..."

Oh 2B... Zero started to gentle stroke 2B's hair again. Understanding of her daughter's feelings, scared that she'll lose her friend.

"B-But he stood up and pushed down A2! And I got really scared when sister started crying instead!"

Oh shit! Almost forgot about that. Zero thought as she pursed her lips.

And the mother was startled when 2B began to cry, the little one rubbing her eyes as she continues.

"And I-I know... *sniff sniff... Mama gets really angry when... *sniff... we get hurt...*sniff...a-and you get really s-scary that other kids get scared of mama...*sniff... And they don't want to be friends anymore!"

"W-WHAT!?" Zero exclaimed. "I-I don't scare kids—"

"MAMA! Please don't scare Nine...z... *sniff" 2B pleaded, as she toddled to Zero's lap with teary eyes."...Pleaseee! I like new friend! I want to p-play more with h-him!"

"Oh... 2B, honey. I don't... I'm not—" Zero paused, looking first at Hinoa and silently asking if she does scare kids. The wyverian woman gave a shrug and a look that said she does at time. Even A2 was nodding her head when Zero glanced at her other child, agreeing with Hinoa.

Zero sighs, and maybe can't argue that she intimidates toddlers of 2B's age group. But after hearing more about the pushing incident from her two kids, the mother was confident that she can resolve this issue peaceful.

It was a misunderstanding anyway and nothing that an honest apology can help start to fix this mess.

Zero only needed to reassure 2B and meet her new friend first. Fortunately, 2B's new friend decided to show himself on his own volition and did something that would touch Zero's heart.

"2B!" A boy cried out, as he crawled out of the table.

Upon hearing him, 2B turned away from Zero and her expression immediately turned to worry.

"No! Nines! Hide! You must hide!" She cried out. But the boy, named Nines apparently, wasn't deterred and immediately stood up to toddled directly to 2B. Who met him halfway, before Nines pulled her into a hug, surprising everyone in the room.

"N-Nines" 2B questioned, before Nines pulls away and looks at her. While either ignoring the others in the room or unaware, only focus at his friend.

"2B don't cry... I'm sorry..." Nines said, with his tiny hands trying to wipe 2B's tears. "I don't want 2B to cry..."

While the latter shakes her head. "No...I'm not crying. You're crying Nines..." Pointing out that even he was teary eyed.

"I'll say sorry... I''ll sorry to your mommy" Nines said not denying his tears, while 2B tries to wipe his own tears as well. "I don't want to 2B sad anymore...it's my fault."

"No! Not your fault!" 2B argues. "You could play with Moosie. I just didn't tell anyone!"

"But I pushed your sister..." Nines counters.

The two toddlers were now debating with each other, and Zero found it cute.

She was also happy to know 2B met a kid her age who wanted to be her friend and appears to care a lot for her. Touched too, seeing her daughter return the same care and willing to defend him on his behalf, against her apparent wrath. Luckily for the two toddlers, Zero wasn't angry nor was she going to reprimand them too sternly.

"Now you two—" Yet before Zero could do anything, a commotion was heard pass the doors of the daycare room.

"My Lady! Please slow down!"

"Haul ass Minoto, my boy's in trouble! Mama's coming!"

BLAM!

The door of the room nearly burst out of its hinges from the force opening it.

Instincts took over as she felt a dangerous intent from the sudden intrusion, Zero quickly brought all the kids, 2B, A2, and 9S behind her protectively, and standing up to face the individual who barged in on them.

Hinoa followed suit, worried... Before her face fell upon realizing who arrived, just as Minoto appeared behind the lady standing in front of Zero.

"Okay! Where's my kid! Where's 9S!" The unknown woman said, eyes darting around the room, briefly spotting Hinoa and then finally focusing at Zero beside her.

"Holy shit!" The unknown woman gasp, as recognition flooded her expression.

While Zero also widen her eyes, as she also recognized the person before.

How could she not? When the lady in front of her was wearing skimpy clothing, had a beautiful face with a fierce expression, and a body that would rival her own in attractiveness.

With disbelief in her voice, Zero called out.

"Kaine?"

Kaine visibly relaxed and responded with the same tone of awe and surprise.

"Zero… Is that you?"

The room fell into tense silence, as the other occupants looked on worry, believing the two dangerous women were sizing each other up, until…

""AAAAAHHHHHHH""

Like two excited teenagers, both Zero and Kaine dashed into each others arms into a full blown hugged, practically glomping the other's body into what would be every healthy adolescent's dream of seeing two attractive specimens pressing their assets together.

"OH MY GOG! I DIDN'T EXPECT TO SEE YOUR BIG SLUTTY ASS HERE!"

"RIGHT BACK AT YOU, BITCH! WHY THE HELL IS YOUR LOOSE CUNT IN KAMURA?!"

Meanwhile Hinoa and Minoto gave a disapproval frown towards the two women, both wyverian ladies scolding the two.

"LADIES PLEASE LANGUAGE!"

"YES, YOUR CHILDREN ARE HERE!"

Miraculously, 2B, A2, and 9S's ears were all somehow covered by the twin wyverians, unable to hear their mothers excited reunion with each other.

But 9S still cried out in joy from seeing his mom. "MOMMY!"

Both Zero and Kaine paused from their excitement as they turned to look at their children. Both mothers having a realization.

Zero gasped first. "Holy crap, he's your son! You have a kid!" And a realization hit her as well. "Why didn't I see it…. He looks like a cute baby Nier with shorter hair!"

"Thank you!" Kaine preened at the compliment.

Zero then asked some mirth in her voice. "Oh you sly fucker, did you finally get Nier to be your baby daddy? Is he your son's baby daddy?"

Kaine, who earlier sported a proud expression, blushed and spoke sheepishly. "Not exactly… it's a long story—But GOG! Are those your kids too!?"

She pointed to 2B and A2, who titled their heads in confusion at the strange underwear lady.

"They're really fucking cute too!"

"Yes they are! My pride and joy, both of them!"

"And twins?! It must have been a painful shitting them out!"

"OH you have no fucking idea! And I thought carrying them was hard!"

The two ladies continued to bond. While Hinoa and Minoto were starting to feel exasperated for today's events.

While 2B, 9S, and A2 continued to look on with a mild sense of curiosity, from finding out their mothers knew each other.

Author's notes:

And that's the chapter!

I hope some of you guys enjoyed the first entry of this new series :)

Future chapters will contain more 'playing with lore' adding references from canon of both franchise, with some personal head-canons, and integrating them into this Nier: Monster Hunter AU. Especially to the backstory of our main characters and you guys can try to guess future characters that would appear too!

Favs, Kudos, Comments and reactions are appreciated, but no flaming!

And once again, thanks for reading and see you in the next chapter!

Story Summary:

Zero was a warrior with a jaded past, trying to move forward and enjoy the new life she made with her brand new family. But she would admit it was hard, as some memories of past regrets still find their way to the surface.

Nier and Kaine were respective widowers to previous marriages, now together as both romantic and hunting partners. Both trying to find a new dynamic in raising their kids, while balancing their job as the guild's current top hunters.

When these two families unexpectedly find themselves intertwined by fate or coincidence, their life together would change in ways for the better and much preferred than before.

And all it took was for 2B and 9S to meet cute at Kamura's Daycare.
