Viridian Forest rustles with life as one of our heroes hones his Pokémon's skills. Naruto trains diligently, working with his Charmander, Rattata, and Pidgey to perfect their moves. While his Pokémon practice, Naruto focuses on his own training—aiming to complete 100 push-ups a day as part of his regimen.
Dressed in shorts, a tank top, and running shoes, Naruto is planning to run laps when a cry of pain echoes through the trees.
"Pikachu!"
Naruto's head snaps up. Without hesitation, he swiftly returns Rattata and Charmander to their Poké Balls and signals Pidgey to investigate.
Moments later, Pidgey returns, urgently flapping its wings. Naruto follows as his feathered partner leads him deeper into the forest. What he sees makes his blood boil.
Several Team Rocket grunts surround a weakened Pikachu, attacking it with multiple Pokémon at once—an unfair and cruel strategy.
Naruto's aura ignites with fury, turning red as he glares at the villains. Without a second thought, he tosses Charmander's and Rattata's Poké Balls.
"Charmander, Rattata—battle stances, now!" he commands.
The Team Rocket grunts laugh cruelly.
"Team Rocket does whatever we want!" one taunts, smirking.
"You scum!" Naruto snarls. "You'll pay for what you're doing to that Pikachu!"
His Pokémon tense, awaiting his orders.
"Charmander, use Flamethrower! Rattata, Quick Attack! Knock their Ekans and Koffing away—NOW!"
Charmander releases a powerful jet of flames, striking Ekans directly. Rattata dashes forward, hitting Koffing with lightning speed. Before the grunts can react, Pikachu gathers enough strength to unleash a devastating Thunder Shock.
"Pika...CHUUU!"
Electricity crackles violently, exploding into the enemies.
"Team Rocket's blasting off again!" the grunts wail as they disappear into the sky.
Pikachu collapses.
Naruto rushes forward, forgetting the danger of touching an Electric-type Pokémon. Fortunately, Pikachu is too weak to shock him, allowing him to scoop her up. Without hesitation, he sprints toward Viridian City's Pokémon Center.
Naruto bursts through the Center's doors. "Nurse Joy! Hurry! Team Rocket was attacking this Pikachu!" he exclaims, breathless.
Nurse Joy gasps. "Oh dear, that's awful!" She swiftly places Pikachu onto a rolling cart and rushes to the back. Naruto watches anxiously as the healing machine hums to life.
While waiting, he spots a videophone and decides to call home.
A man's face appears onscreen. "Ketchum residence!"
"Dad! I'm still in Viridian City, training my Pokémon for the first Gym Leader," Naruto reports.
Red's expression hardens. "You wouldn't be back unless you were healing someone. What happened?"
Naruto explains everything.
Red exhales in relief. "You did the right thing."
Minutes later, Nurse Joy approaches with a warm smile. "Pikachu will be fine. She needs a few days to recover, then she'll be back shocking Pokémon—and humans!" she chuckles.
Naruto grins. "That's great news. Thank you, Nurse Joy!"
Days pass. Naruto balances his own training while frequently checking on Pikachu.
On the last day before leaving, he ventures deep into the forest and catches a Weedle and a Caterpie. Soon, something unusual catches his eye—a brown egg with a white stripe, nestled in the tall grass.
"What kind of Pokémon egg is this?" Naruto wonders. Without hesitation, he picks it up and rushes back to the Pokémon Center.
Bursting through the doors, Naruto hurries to Nurse Joy.
"Nurse Joy! Please check this Pokémon egg! Make sure it's in good health!" he says urgently.
Nurse Joy carefully examines the egg before nodding. "It looks stable, but I'll place it inside a protective incubation device to keep it safe and warm."
She takes the egg to the back room and places it inside a temperature-controlled incubator. After a few minutes, she returns, holding the device.
"Here you go, Naruto. This will keep the egg warm until it hatches," Nurse Joy says, handing it back.
Naruto accepts it eagerly. "Thank you, Nurse Joy! I'll take great care of it."
His next stop is Professor Oak.
"Ah, Naruto! Good to see you. What can I do for you?" Professor Oak greets him via videophone.
Naruto lifts the egg. "Professor, I found this Pokémon egg in Viridian Forest. Do you know what species it might be?"
Professor Oak strokes his chin. "Hmm… Let's check." He flips through a thick research book.
"Ah-ha! This matches a Pokémon egg that belongs to… Tyrogue!"
Naruto's eyes widen. "A Tyrogue?! That's awesome!"
Professor Oak nods. "Tyrogue is a Fighting-type Pokémon with immense energy and fighting spirit. When it evolves, it can become Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee, or Hitmontop depending on how it's trained."
Naruto's excitement grows. "That's incredible! I'll train it well."
Professor Oak smiles. "I have no doubt you will. Keep the egg warm, check on its progress, and soon enough, you'll have a strong Fighting-type Pokémon."
Naruto nods, ready for the challenge.
Before leaving Viridian City, Naruto calls home once more. His parents appear onscreen.
"Son, you're still in Viridian City?" Delia asks, surprised.
"Yeah, but I'm leaving soon. I have news." Naruto lifts the Tyrogue egg for them to see.
His parents' eyes widen.
"Mom, why don't you become a trainer again? Your Pokémon wouldn't leave you," Naruto says.
Delia sighs. "I appreciate that, but my priorities changed when you were born."
"But you were strong!" Naruto protests.
Delia smiles gently. "I loved being a trainer, but taking care of you became more important."
Naruto crosses his arms, thinking. "I get it… but if you ever want to return, your Pokémon will always be there for you."
Red chuckles. "Your mother has always chosen her own path—just like you're doing now."
Delia nods. "That's right. But no matter what, I'll always support you."
Naruto smiles. "Alright, Mom. I understand."
Delia's eyes soften. "That's my boy."
Naruto suddenly remembers something. "Oh, right! Mom, you run that restaurant now, right?"
Delia chuckles. "Yes, I do! It's been a wonderful experience."
Naruto's expression brightens. "And Mom, do you remember that device I was working on? The one that scans Pokémon eggs, kind of like a Pokédex?"
"Yes, why, son?" Delia asks curiously.
"Because… can you have someone bring it to me in Pewter City?" Naruto asks.
Delia thinks for a moment. "Very well, son," she agrees.
"Okay, thanks, Mom. I'll call you back when I get to Pewter City," Naruto says.
They hang up, and Naruto gathers his things, making sure his Pokémon are in order. Once everything is packed, he steps out of his room and heads to Nurse Joy. He hands her the room key.
"Thanks for letting me stay here, ma'am," Naruto says, bowing with a smile.
Nurse Joy nods. "Have a good day, Naruto Ketchum," she tells him warmly.
Naruto nods in return and begins walking toward the exit, carrying the egg securely in its incubation device. Just as he reaches the door, he hears a familiar voice.
"Pikachu!"
Naruto turns just in time to see Pikachu—the one he had saved in Viridian Forest—rushing toward him. The excited Electric-type Pokémon leaps forward, knocking Naruto down.
Rubbing his leg, Naruto chuckles. "You want to come with me?" he asks.
Pikachu beams, nodding eagerly.
Naruto reaches into his bag, pulling out a specially designed Poké Ball for Electric-types. He holds it out, and Pikachu taps it willingly, disappearing inside. The Poké Ball dings instantly, confirming the successful capture.
Naruto smiles but immediately lets Pikachu back out, knowing she doesn't like being confined inside the Poké Ball.
Curious, he points his Pokédex at Pikachu, and the device's robotic voice comes to life:
"Pikachu, the Mouse Pokémon. When Pikachu becomes delighted, electricity erupts from its tail. This Pokémon is known for building up electrical energy and releasing it in bursts when threatened or excited."
Naruto grins. "Looks like we'll be traveling together, Pikachu."
"Pika Pika!" Pikachu cheers happily.
With his new companion by his side, Naruto steps out into the world, ready for the next adventure.
The Pokédex screen lights up once more, analyzing Pikachu's battle capabilities. Its robotic voice speaks:
"Pikachu's current known moves:
Thunder Shock – Releases a small but effective burst of electricity.
Quick Attack – A rapid charge that allows Pikachu to strike first.
Tail Whip – Lowers the opponent's defense with a playful flick of its tail.
Electro Ball – Generates an electrical orb; its power depends on the user's speed."
Naruto nods, satisfied. "Not bad, Pikachu. We'll get stronger together."
"Pikaaa!" Pikachu sparks with excitement.

A Challenger in Viridian ForestSeveral hours later, Naruto and his Pokémon reach the halfway point through Viridian Forest. The towering trees cast long shadows as the evening light filters through the dense canopy.
Suddenly, a young Bug Catcher—dressed in samurai-style armor—rushes toward Naruto, wielding a toy sword.
"You there!" the boy shouts. "You must prove yourself in battle! Defend yourself!"
Naruto sidesteps swiftly, dodging the first strike. The Bug Catcher—introducing himself as Samurai—spins around and attempts another rush attack. This time, Naruto ducks low and sweeps his opponent's legs out from under him.
Samurai lands on his back with an audible grunt, blinking in surprise.
"You're fast," Samurai admits, standing up. "But my true test is a Pokémon battle!"
Naruto smirks. "Alright, if you want a battle, you've got one."
Samurai grabs a Poké Ball and tosses it high into the air.
"Pinsir, go!"
The Poké Ball bursts open, revealing a large, fearsome Pinsir. It lets out an intimidating roar.
"Piiiinsir!"
Naruto pulls out his Pokédex and scans it. The robotic voice activates:
"Pinsir, the Stag Beetle Pokémon. Pinsir's powerful pincers can crush objects as hard as boulders. It prefers to battle in close combat, using its immense grip to trap and squeeze foes."
Naruto grins, his eyes flashing with determination. "Pikachu, you're up!"
Pikachu leaps off Naruto's shoulder, landing in a battle stance.
"Pika pika!" she sparks, ready for action.
Samurai smirks. "Let's see how tough your Pikachu really is!"
Naruto points at Pinsir. "Pikachu, use Quick Attack and get behind Pinsir!"
Pikachu darts forward in a blur, moving too fast for Pinsir to track. She zips past the towering Bug-type and positions herself behind it.
Samurai's eyes widen. "Pinsir, turn around!"
But before Pinsir can react, Naruto calls out the next command. "Now, Pikachu—Thunder Shock!"
Electricity crackles around Pikachu's cheeks before she unleashes a bolt of lightning straight into Pinsir's back.
"Piiiinnn—sir!" Pinsir cries out, its body jolting as the attack surges through it. It staggers forward, visibly weakened.
Samurai clenches his fists. "Not bad! But we're not done yet. Pinsir, use Vice Grip!"
Pinsir charges at Pikachu, its massive pincers snapping in anticipation.
Naruto narrows his eyes. "Pikachu, dodge it—then use Electro Ball!"
Pikachu swiftly avoids Pinsir's pincers, leaping into the air. Sparks dance around her body as she forms a ball of electricity and hurls it at the enemy.
The attack slams into Pinsir, sending shockwaves rippling through its tough exoskeleton.
Samurai grits his teeth. "We can still turn this around! Pinsir, full-power Vice Grip!"
Naruto shakes his head, deciding to end the battle quickly. "Let's finish this! Pikachu, Quick Attack with Electro Ball!"
Pikachu dashes forward, lightning-fast, the glowing Electro Ball trailing behind her. She strikes Pinsir with full force, sending the Bug-type crashing into the ground.
"Piiiinsir…" It groans before collapsing, unable to battle.
Samurai stares in shock before sighing. "You win. Your Pikachu is strong."
Naruto grins, helping Samurai up. "Thanks. You weren't bad yourself."
Samurai nods. "You've proven yourself. You might even stand a chance against Pewter City's Gym Leader."
Naruto smirks. "That's the plan."
Before leaving, Naruto pulls out a Potion and hands it to Samurai. "Here—out of respect for the good battle you gave Pikachu, since she's the newest member of my team."
Samurai takes the Potion, momentarily stunned, before nodding in gratitude. He watches as Naruto continues walking toward Pewter City.
A Few Minutes Later…After battling more wild Pokémon and trainers, Naruto's team has grown even stronger.
Charmander, Rattata, Pidgey, Pikachu, Caterpie, and Weedle have all reached levels between 13 and 15.
As Naruto faces another trainer deep in the forest, Caterpie suddenly begins to glow.
"Caterpie…?"
Naruto steps back, eyes wide. "Wait… Caterpie is evolving!"
A bright light engulfs Caterpie, its small form shifting. When the glow fades, Metapod stands in its place.
Naruto pulls out his Pokédex to scan it:
"Metapod, the Cocoon Pokémon. Its body is extremely tough and can endure harsh attacks. However, while waiting to evolve, it remains mostly motionless."
Naruto grins. "That means Butterfree isn't far off!"
After a few more battles, Metapod begins glowing again. In moments, Butterfree emerges, fluttering its newly formed wings.
"Butterfreeee!"
Naruto quickly scans it:
"Butterfree, the Butterfly Pokémon. Its wings are covered with fine, toxic scales. It flaps them to release a cloud of poisonous dust to stun foes."
Naruto beams. "Awesome! You did great, Butterfree."
Before long, the same glow surrounds Weedle.
"Weedle…"
Naruto watches as Weedle evolves into Kakuna, and after a few more battles, it transforms once more—becoming Beedrill.
"Bzzzt—Beedrill!"
Naruto checks his Pokédex again:
"Beedrill, the Poison Bee Pokémon. It has three poisonous stingers—one on its tail and two on its forelegs. Its aggressive nature makes it a dangerous Pokémon to provoke."
Naruto clenches his fist with excitement. "Two evolutions in one day! Our team is looking strong!"
With confidence in his Pokémon and determination in his heart, Naruto steps forward, eager to reach Pewter City for his first Gym challenge.
Arrival in Pewter CityNaruto grinned at his mother. "I'll wait until tomorrow to face the Gym Leader… but I wonder if Ash is here." He voiced his thoughts aloud.
Just then, Nurse Joy overheard the conversation and approached.
"You're a Ketchum, right?" she asked, glancing between Naruto and Delia.
Naruto nodded. "Has my little brother Ash already left, or was he here?" he asked calmly.
Nurse Joy paused, thinking for a moment before replying. "Yes, Ash was here. He left for Mt. Moon after defeating Brock in battle. Misty and Brock are traveling with him."
With that, she excused herself and returned to her duties.
Naruto hummed in thought. "So Ash is already moving ahead… That just means I need to catch up!" He smirked, excited for the challenge.
Delia chuckled. "You've always been competitive," she teased.
Naruto shrugged playfully. "It just runs in the family!"
Then, Delia reached into her bag, pulling out a Pokémon Egg Scanner—the device Naruto had been working on.
"I decided to bring this to you myself," she said, handing it to him. "I know how important this is for your journey, and I wanted to make sure you got it as soon as possible."
Naruto's eyes lit up with excitement as he took the device. "Thanks, Mom! With this, I can scan the Tyrogue egg and check its progress."
He powered on the scanner and gently placed the incubation device containing the egg onto its scanning pad. The small screen lit up, processing the data before displaying the results.
"Tyrogue Egg detected. Egg health: Stable. Estimated time until hatching: Unknown. Keep the egg warm and monitor for movement."
Naruto nodded in satisfaction. "Looks like it's healthy. I'll take great care of it!"
Delia smiled. "I know you will. You've already shown how responsible you are."
Naruto grinned. "I plan on becoming stronger and taking on Pewter City's Gym Leader next!"
His mother's expression softened with pride. "Then you better rest up. You've got a big battle ahead."
Naruto hesitated for a moment before asking, "Mom… are you staying for a couple of hours?"
Delia's smile faltered slightly, and she sadly shook her head. "No, sweetheart. I wish I could, but I have to get back."
Naruto exhaled, trying not to let his disappointment show. "Alright, Mom. I understand."
She gently placed a hand on his shoulder. "I know you're going to do great, Naruto."
Naruto smiled. "Thanks, Mom."
With the Pokémon Egg Scanner now in his hands and his mother's support fueling his determination, Naruto prepares for his first Gym battle in Pewter City!
Naruto walks up to Nurse Joy of Pewter City, glancing around before smiling nervously. "Wow, there sure are a lot of Nurse Joys… and you look just like the one in Viridian City!" He laughs.
Nurse Joy giggles. "Yes, many Nurse Joys run Pokémon Centers across different towns. We take pride in caring for Pokémon!"
Naruto nods. "Can I get a room, please? And can you heal my Pokémon? Also, could you check Butterfree and Beedrill since they just evolved?" he asks calmly.
Nurse Joy smiles warmly. "Of course! I'll take good care of them."
Naruto hands over his Poké Balls, watching as Nurse Joy places them in the healing machine. While she works, Delia steps forward, wrapping her arms around Naruto in a motherly hug.
"Well, son, I have to go home now," she says softly.
Naruto holds onto the hug for a moment before pulling back. "Alright, Mom. Thanks again for bringing the Egg Scanner to me."
Delia smiles warmly. "Of course. I know you'll do great."
Nurse Joy returns, handing Naruto his healed Pokémon and a room key. "Here you go, Naruto. Your room is ready—it's room number 7."
Naruto nods. "Thanks, Nurse Joy!"
Delia gives him one last encouraging smile before turning toward the exit. "Take care, Naruto!"
As she walks away, Naruto watches her go, a grateful expression on his face. Then, he turns back to Nurse Joy, ready to prepare for the battle ahead.
Naruto then waits for his pokemon after a few minutes Nurse Joy gives Naruto all his pokemon back and he lets them all out," Charmander, Rattata, Pidgey, beedrill, Butter free, Pikachu." he smiled down at his pokemon,"in the morning is a big day for us smirks.
He then returned them to their pokemon balls and walked to his room and goes to sleep since he already eaten.
