"Ah, yes! Welcome back, dear readers! It is I, Spinosaurus Rex—writer, storyteller, and dinosaur enthusiast!" I chuckle, because really, who doesn't love dinosaurs?
"This chapter is going to be a little different, so buckle up! If you've read the last chapter, then you already know what happened. If not—well, that's what the previous pages are for!" I smirk.
"Now then, without further ado, let's get this story on the road!"
Pewter City – A Trainer's ResolveThe journey continues! Young Naruto Ketchum has finally arrived in Pewter City, just as the sun dips below the horizon. After a long day of travel, he settles into his room at the Pokémon Center, resting up for the battle ahead.
But let's not forget—Naruto is no ordinary trainer. He's also an inventor! Before his journey began, he created a special device—a cutting-edge gadget designed to monitor the health of a Pokémon egg and predict how long it has until hatching. A revolutionary tool that could change how trainers care for their eggs! And now, it's his to use on his own adventure.
Morning arrives. The sky is clear, and Naruto is more than ready for his challenge!
After a quick shower and getting dressed, he grabs his hiking bag and strides confidently to the front desk.
Knock, knock!
Nurse Joy looks up, her signature warm smile greeting him.
"Oh, hello, Naruto Ketchum," she says, radiating kindness.
Naruto bows politely. "Thank you for letting me stay the night, Nurse Joy."
She nods, accepting the key to his room. As Naruto turns toward Pewter Gym, she murmurs, "Good luck." And so, he sets off for his first big Gym battle!
Pewter Gym Battle – Strategy in MotionNaruto steps into Pewter Gym, determination shining in his eyes.
"I've come to challenge the Gym Leader!" His voice echoes through the vast battlefield.
The lights flash on, revealing a lone figure standing across the arena—a man with a striking resemblance to Brock.
"Welcome, challenger! I am Flint, and I accept your challenge!" The older man smirks, excitement gleaming in his eyes.
Naruto grins. "I'll give it my all!"
Flint chuckles. "We'll see about that, boy."
The referee raises his hand. "This will be a two-on-two Gym Battle! Only the challenger may switch Pokémon. The battle continues until one trainer has no remaining Pokémon!"
Naruto nods, ready to begin.
"Charmander, take your battle stance!" He tosses the Poké Ball forward!
With a burst of light, Charmander lands firmly on the battlefield! His tail flame flares up as he lets out a fierce growl, eyes locked on Flint with unwavering determination!
Naruto smirks. "Looks like you're ready, Charmander."
Flint, unfazed, throws his own Poké Ball. "Let's see how you handle my Geodude."
The ball bursts open, revealing the rock-type Pokémon, who slams his fists together, confidence radiating from his stony form!
"Geo!" Geodude grunts, ready for battle.
Charmander narrows his eyes, growling in response.
Naruto pulls out his Pokédex and aims it at Geodude.
Pokédex: "Geodude, the Rock Pokémon. Its body is as hard as rock, and it often rolls down mountain paths to move. It uses its arms to climb difficult terrains."
Naruto grins. "A classic Rock-type… but I've got a plan."
Then, he remembers—Charmander had learned Metal Claw during training! That meant he had a super-effective move against Flint's Rock-type Pokémon!
Still, Naruto wasn't taking any chances. He quickly double-checked Charmander's moveset on his Pokédex.
Charmander's current moves:
Scratch
Ember
Metal Claw
Dragon Breath
Naruto's eyes lit up. "Perfect. Dragon Breath, too? This battle just got interesting."
He turned back to Charmander, fire in his eyes. "Alright, buddy, let's show them what we've got!"
Flint smirked across the battlefield, crossing his arms. "Done strategizing? Let's see if you can put those moves to good use, kid."
The referee raised his hand. "Battle—begin!"
Charmander's tail flickered wildly as he tensed up.
"Charmander, let's start with Ember—hit the ground under Geodude, then follow up with Metal Claw!" Naruto commanded.
Charmander took a deep breath, his tail flame flaring as he unleashed a scorching Ember straight at the ground beneath Geodude! The fire erupted on impact, heating the rocky battlefield and creating a burst of smoke and heat waves.
Geodude hovered above the scorched ground, momentarily thrown off by the sudden flames licking at its underside.
Naruto didn't hesitate. "Now, Charmander—Metal Claw!"
Charmander leapt forward, claws gleaming silver as he slashed through the lingering smoke, aiming for Geodude!
But Flint was just as quick. "Geodude, use Rock Throw!"
Geodude grunted, gathering energy as it lifted a cluster of nearby rocks, hurling them straight at the incoming Charmander!
Naruto's eyes widened—this could get messy!
"Charmander, use Metal Claw to break those rocks, then hit Geodude with Dragon Breath!" Naruto commanded.
Charmander slashed through the incoming boulders, sending shards flying in all directions, then inhaled deeply—before exhaling a fierce Dragon Breath straight at Geodude!
Flint grinned. "Geodude, use Rock Polish, then follow it up with Rollout!"
Geodude glowed briefly, its body becoming sleek and polished, increasing its speed—before suddenly launching into Rollout, spinning forward like a boulder at high velocity!
Naruto gritted his teeth. "Charmander, dodge—quickly—then hit it with Dragon Breath!"
But before Charmander could move, something strange happened.
His body began to glow, engulfed in bright white light!
Naruto's eyes widened. "Wait… is this—?!"
Flint's smirk faltered slightly. He knew exactly what was happening.
The glow intensified, surrounding Charmander in pure light as his form started to shift and change! Charmander was evolving!
Naruto barely contained his excitement. "No way—this is happening right now?!"
Flint crossed his arms, intrigued. "Looks like you've got a surprise mid-battle evolution on your hands, kid. Let's see how you handle it!"
Charmander's shape stretched, his body growing stronger, claws sharper, tail flame burning brighter than ever.
Then, with a final burst of light and energy, Charmander emerged as Charmeleon!
Naruto clenched his fists, grinning. "Alright, buddy—let's show them what you've got!"
The battle had just taken a dramatic turn—would Charmeleon's new strength be enough to take down Flint's Geodude?
Pewter Gym Battle – Strategy in MotionNaruto quickly pulls out his Pokédex, aiming it at Charmeleon. The device scans his newly evolved starter, displaying updated battle data.
Pokédex: "Charmeleon, the Flame Pokémon. Though cruel and aggressive in battle, it shows loyalty to a strong trainer. Its tail burns hotter when excited."
Naruto's eyes lock onto Charmeleon's move set—there it is! A brand-new move has replaced Scratch!
Charmeleon's updated move set:
Ember
Metal Claw
Dragon Breath
Slash (replacing Scratch)
"Awesome—Slash is a stronger, faster move!" Naruto mutters, his excitement rising.
But before he can issue the next command, Naruto suddenly slams his hands against his cheeks, shaking his head wildly. "Stay awake! Focus! This is my first Gym Battle—I need to win!"
Flint chuckles at the sight. "Nervous, huh?"
Naruto grins despite the pressure, then pauses as a thought crosses his mind.
"Flint, how did my brother Ash beat Brock? Please tell me he didn't throw water on Brock's Pokémon?" Naruto asks, half-joking but also slightly horrified by the idea.
Flint smirks, arms crossed. "Oh, trust me, kid—he definitely did something like that. Your brother had some… unconventional strategies."
Naruto groans. "Of course he did…"
No time to dwell on Ash's battle history—Naruto clenches his fist.
"Alright, Charmeleon! Use Double Metal Claw!"
Charmeleon lets out a fierce growl, claws gleaming silver as he lunges forward, ready to strike Geodude twice with blinding speed!
Flint's eyes narrowed as he called out his counter.
"Geodude, counter with Rollout—full power!"
Geodude, still charged up from Rock Polish, spun violently, gaining momentum as it shot forward to meet Charmeleon's attack head-on!
The two Pokémon collided midair—Charmeleon's sharp claws slashing through Geodude's rolling form, while Geodude's high-speed impact sent Charmeleon skidding backward!
Flint smirked. "Not bad, but don't forget—Rollout only gets stronger the more times it hits!"
Naruto gritted his teeth. He knew Rollout could snowball into serious damage if Geodude kept landing hits.
"Charmeleon, brace yourself—then hit it with Dragon Breath!"
Charmeleon dug his claws into the battlefield, stopping his slide, then inhaled deeply. His chest swelled as blue energy crackled in his mouth—before unleashing a fierce Dragon Breath straight at the incoming Geodude!
Flint reacted instantly.
"Geodude, use Defense Curl—then keep rolling!"
Geodude tucked its arms in, reinforcing its body just as Dragon Breath exploded on contact! The attack pushed Geodude back slightly, but it continued spinning forward, its momentum unstoppable!
Flint grinned. "You better have a way to stop this, Naruto!"
Naruto clenched his fists—he had to think fast!
Charmeleon hesitated for a brief second, sweatdropping at the unexpected command. Combining two moves? That wasn't exactly standard battle strategy—but Naruto wasn't a standard trainer either!
Flint raised an eyebrow before letting out a hearty chuckle. "Ash must get his way of thinking from you. I'm guessing you're the older brother?"
Naruto smirked, keeping his focus sharp. "You got that right. And I'll show you exactly what this kind of thinking can do!"
Charmeleon, still slightly wary, gritted his teeth and charged forward, metal-coated claws glowing fiercely while his mouth gathered Dragon Breath's crackling energy. The two forces merged as he slashed and exhaled the draconic attack simultaneously, sending waves of sheer force toward Geodude's rolling form!
Flint's eyes widened slightly—Naruto was pulling off something unexpected!
"Geodude, push through—double Rollout!" Flint commanded, the Rock-type spinning even faster, bracing against the wild combination attack!
The battlefield erupted with energy as Dragon Breath mixed with Metal Claw, clashing directly against Geodude's relentless Rollout!
The next few seconds would determine everything—which Pokémon would come out on top?!
Charmeleon rolled swiftly out of the way, narrowly avoiding Geodude's spinning attack. The battlefield seemed to stretch into slow motion as Naruto's voice rang out:
"Charmeleon—full-powered DOUBLE Metal Claw!"
With a fiery gleam in his eyes, Charmeleon's claws shone like silver blades, charged with all his strength. He lunged forward, slashing twice in rapid succession, each strike carrying the weight of his evolution and his trainer's determination!
Flint's expression shifted, realization hitting him like a truck.
"No—Geodude, dodge!" he shouted.
But it was too late.
The first slash tore through the rolling momentum Geodude had built, sending cracks across its sturdy form. Then came the second slash, hitting directly on target, sending the Rock Pokémon flying backward before crashing hard onto the battlefield!
The gym was silent for just a moment—then a loud thud echoed. Geodude lay unmoving, dust settling around it.
The referee raised his hand. "Geodude is unable to battle! Charmeleon wins!"
Naruto's heart raced, adrenaline surging through his veins. His first Gym battle victory had begun—but Flint was far from done!
Flint smirked despite the defeat. "You've got guts, kid. But I still have one Pokémon left—let's see how you handle this!" He reached for his next Poké Ball.
Who would Flint send out next? Naruto was ready.
The battle was far from over—Flint wasn't backing down just yet.
"Onix!" Flint called, throwing his Poké Ball forward.
A massive serpent-like Pokémon emerged, towering over the battlefield with a fearsome roar, its rocky body gleaming under the gym's lights.
Naruto quickly pointed his Pokédex at the opponent, and the robotic voice chimed in:
Pokédex: "Onix, the Rock Snake Pokémon. It burrows underground at high speeds. Its body becomes smoother and harder the more it tunnels."
Naruto's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Man, I need to get one of these Onix! They look awesome." Then, his grin sharpened. "But even if you're amazing, Onix, I've got no choice but to beat you! If I lose, I'll have to go back and train more. So—let's get this battle on the road!"
Naruto raised his hand. "Charmeleon—full-powered Dragon Breath!"
Charmeleon inhaled deeply, its chest glowing as electric-blue energy built up inside. Then, with ferocious force, it unleashed a massive wave of Dragon Breath, crackling with power as it raced toward Onix!
Flint smirked, eyes locked on the incoming attack. "Onix, brace yourself and counter with Rock Tomb!"
Onix roared, slamming its tail against the ground—large chunks of rock rose up like shields, creating a wall to absorb the incoming Dragon Breath!
The battlefield shook as Naruto's attack collided with Flint's defensive maneuver—who would come out on top?!
The battlefield was a whirlwind of intensity as Naruto snapped into strategy mode.
"Charmeleon, keep dodging! Don't let Rock Tomb hit you, buddy!" he called out, eyes locked onto his starter. "If you're not fast enough, use Double Metal Claw to break through the rocks!"
Charmeleon darted across the field, weaving between the falling chunks of earth, claws gleaming in case of incoming danger. The Pokémon slashed at debris that came too close, breaking apart heavy stone before it could do any damage.
Naruto, in the heat of the moment, suddenly realized—he couldn't remember if Charmeleon was a boy or a girl!
"Oh man… I totally forgot," he muttered to himself, sweat dropping at the thought.
But then, shaking it off, he smirked. "Eh, whatever. Doesn't matter—I just don't wanna upset my partner!"
Flint chuckled from across the battlefield. "You really trust Charmeleon, huh? That bond is what'll make or break this fight, kid!"
Naruto grinned, fists clenched. He wasn't just battling—he was proving himself, both to Charmeleon and to himself as a trainer!
The battlefield fell silent for a brief moment—then, it exploded with energy!
Charmeleon inhaled deeply, flames crackling at the edge of his mouth as Dragon Breath surged forward, the powerful blast colliding directly with Onix!
Onix shuddered, its body stiffening—paralysis had taken effect!
Naruto's eyes gleamed with determination. "Alright, now—x4 Metal Claw at full power!"
Charmeleon rushed forward, claws shimmering like silver blades, striking four times in rapid succession! Each impact sent shockwaves through Onix's rocky frame.
Flint's eyes widened in realization. "NOOO—Onix, do—"
But it was too late.
Onix let out a deep groan, its massive form slumping to the ground, unable to continue. The dust settled, the battlefield still.
The referee raised his hand. "Onix is unable to battle! Charmeleon wins! The challenger—Naruto Ketchum—has won the Pewter City Gym Battle!"
Victory!
Naruto's excitement soared—his first Gym victory, and Charmeleon had pulled off something incredible!
But just as he turned to congratulate his partner, he absentmindedly called out, "Great job, girl!"
Charmeleon blinked.
Then, without warning, he swung his tail and lightly smacked Naruto's leg.
Naruto blinked in confusion before realization hit. "…Wait, you're a boy?!"
Charmeleon just stared at him, unimpressed.
Flint laughed from across the battlefield. "Kid, you better start remembering your own Pokémon's details!"
Naruto groaned. "I swear it's not personal—I was just caught up in the moment!"
Charmeleon simply flicked his tail again, smirking slightly.
Flint stepped forward, holding out a small silver badge—its surface gleaming under the stadium lights.
"You earned this, Naruto. Proof that you conquered Pewter City's Gym."
Naruto's grin widened as he took the Boulder Badge, raising his fist triumphantly—just like his mother, Delia, would.
Scene shift: Mount Moon
Deep within the cavern, Ash, Misty, and Brock made their way through the dimly lit tunnels, their footsteps echoing against the stone walls.
Ash, ever eager, examined his latest catch—a Bug-type Pokémon he had captured back in Viridian Forest.
"Man, this little guy is gonna be awesome!" Ash said with excitement, holding up the Poké Ball.
Misty, however, wasn't nearly as thrilled. She crossed her arms, her expression sour. "Ugh, a Bug-type? Ash, you know how I feel about those!"
Brock chuckled, amused by Misty's predictable reaction.
Misty sighed, shaking her head. "Whatever, I'll get over it… besides, I shouldn't be complaining. My boyfriend, Naruto, has a Caterpie and a Weedle."
Little did she know—Naruto's Bug-types had already evolved!
Brock glanced at Ash thoughtfully. "Speaking of Naruto… what's your older brother like, anyway?"
Ash grinned. "Oh man, Naruto? He's different from me, that's for sure. He's got that whole 'inventor' thing going on, and he battles in this weird but cool way. But trust me—he's really strong."
Brock nodded, intrigued by Naruto's unique approach.
Misty raised an eyebrow. "Ash, don't call Naruto weird—he's amazing!"
Ash sweatdropped. "Alright, alright, he's amazing. Geez."
The group continued deeper into Mount Moon, unaware of the challenges ahead—or the surprises Naruto had in store for Misty when she learned about his evolved Pokémon!
Ash's excitement surged as he spotted something unusual on the ground. His grin widened, and without hesitation, he dashed forward.
Misty and Brock, sensing his enthusiasm, quickly followed, their curiosity piqued. Pikachu, ever watchful, hopped beside Ash, its ears twitching as it stared down at whatever had caught his attention.
"What is it?" Misty asked, stepping closer.
Brock adjusted his vest, scanning the scene carefully. "Looks like you found something interesting, Ash."
Ash's eyes gleamed as he crouched down, reaching for the mysterious objects. "This could be something really cool!"
Ash grabbed the mysterious objects and quickly tucked them into his backpack, his expression a mix of excitement and slight guilt.
"I should've listened to my brother, Mom, and Dad about reading," he admitted, glancing at Misty and Brock. "I actually told them I would, but then I changed my mind."
Misty raised an eyebrow, crossing her arms. "You mean you promised to read and then just didn't?"
Ash rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. "I mean… yeah, kinda."
Brock chuckled. "Well, maybe whatever you just picked up will change your mind. Who knows? It might turn out to be really important."
Pikachu tilted its head, sniffing curiously at Ash's backpack as if trying to uncover the mystery itself.
Meanwhile, back with Naruto—he was now leaving the Pokémon Center after getting Charmeleon checked out and healed. After all, Naruto wanted Charmeleon to be in top shape after evolving—and thankfully, he was.
Feeling relieved, Naruto made his way to the Poké General Store. As he stepped inside, his eyes scanned the stocked shelves, spotting a bike kit and a few other useful supplies. Without hesitation, he bought everything he needed.
Next, he headed to the Poké Mart to stock up on Poké Balls, potions, and other essential items. He even grabbed some food—both for his Pokémon and himself.
"Pikachu," a familiar voice called out.
Naruto glanced at his Pikachu and smiled. "Yeah, girl. I'm sorry—I'll have you battle next time, okay?" he assured her.
After securing all his supplies, Naruto adjusted his backpack and nodded. "Let's go, Pikachu."
With a small leap, Pikachu hopped onto Naruto's shoulder, settling in comfortably as he set off toward Mount Moon.
Naruto paused on the path leading to Mount Moon, setting his sights on a task he'd been meaning to tackle. With a determined nod, he slipped off his backpack, unzipped it, and pulled out the bike kit he had picked up earlier.
"This should be a piece of cake," he muttered, retrieving his tools from the depths of his big bag.
Pikachu hopped down from his shoulder, tilting her head curiously as she watched Naruto work. He laid out the parts, double-checking each component before starting the assembly. His hands moved with precision—years of tinkering had made him no stranger to putting things together.
The sun cast a warm glow over the route, the gentle breeze carrying the distant chirps of wild Pokémon as Naruto tightened bolts, adjusted gears, and secured the final touches.
Before long, the bike stood ready—a sleek, sturdy ride built for adventure.
Naruto wiped his forehead with the back of his hand, admiring his handiwork. "Not bad, huh, Pikachu?"
Pikachu's ears twitched before she gave an approving "Pika!"
With everything set, Naruto secured his bag, hopped onto the bike, and with Pikachu leaping back onto his shoulder, he pedaled forward—Mount Moon waiting ahead.
Naruto and Pikachu paused in awe at the sight before them—a herd of Nidoran, both male and female, grazing peacefully in the field.
Grinning, Naruto pulled out his Pokédex and aimed it at the Pokémon.
Pokédex: "Nidoran , the Poison Pin Pokémon. Its large ears are always scanning its surroundings. It's more aggressive than its female counterpart. Nidoran , the Poison Pin Pokémon. Although small, its venomous barbs make it a dangerous opponent when threatened."
Naruto nodded in approval before reaching for a Poké Ball. "Alright, Butterfree, you're up!"
With a flash, Butterfree emerged, its wings fluttering gracefully in the sunlight.
"I sent Beedrill to Professor Oak since I didn't need two Bug-types, but that just means you're gonna be the star of this battle," Naruto said with a smirk.
Butterfree chirped in response, ready for action.
Naruto raised his hand. "Butterfree, use Sleep Powder on them!"
Butterfree soared above the herd, shimmering spores drifting from its wings as it unleashed Sleep Powder upon the unsuspecting Nidoran.
Naruto watched as the Poké Balls rocked back and forth, the tension hanging in the air. Then—ding!
"All right!" he grinned, pumping his fist in victory.
He had successfully caught two male and two female Nidoran, setting aside one pair for his brother, Ash. With his own party now full, the remaining two were automatically transferred to Professor Oak.
Meanwhile, back at Professor Oak's lab…
The older researcher sat at his desk, adjusting his glasses as he reviewed some notes. Suddenly, his computer beeped, the monitor flashing with an alert.
"Hm?" Oak murmured, turning his attention to the screen. "Looks like Naruto sent over some new Pokémon."
He clicked through the data, nodding in approval as he viewed the transferred Nidoran.
"Well now, these will make fine additions. I wonder if Ash knows yet…"
What would happen when Ash received his new Pokémon? And what surprises awaited Naruto next? The journey continues!
Meanwhile, back with Ash, Misty, and Brock…Ash, Misty—Naruto's girlfriend—and Brock had arrived in Cerulean City.
Before anything else, Ash headed to the Pokémon Center to rest and heal his team after battling several trainers and wild Pokémon along the way. Brock had caught a Zubat, and coincidentally, Ash had caught one as well.
While Ash approached Nurse Joy to get his Pokémon checked out, Misty decided to visit her home. She was eager to tell her sisters that she had a boyfriend now.
As Ash waited for his Pokémon to be healed, he and Brock took advantage of the Pokémon Center's videophones. Brock called home to check on his numerous siblings and parents, while Ash dialed up his own house.
The screen flickered, revealing the smiling faces of his mom, Delia, and his dad, Red.
Ash's Call with His Parents"Hey, Mom! Hey, Dad!" Ash grinned, waving excitedly.
Delia beamed. "Ash! Sweetheart, it's so good to see you! Are you eating enough? Getting enough rest?"
Ash chuckled. "Yeah, Mom, I'm fine!"
Red smirked, arms crossed. "You keeping up in battle? Naruto set the bar pretty high."
Ash huffed. "Of course! I just caught a Zubat, battled a bunch of trainers, and—oh! I made it to Cerulean City!"
Delia clapped her hands. "That's wonderful! And Misty's hometown too—have you met her sisters yet?"
Ash shook his head. "Nah, Misty ran off to tell them she has a boyfriend now."
Red chuckled. "That sounds about right."
Ash grinned. "It's been a pretty exciting trip so far! Oh! I also found some weird items while passing through Mount Moon—I was gonna ask Professor Oak about them."
Delia tilted her head curiously. "Items? What kind of items?"
Ash shrugged. "I don't know. They looked kinda like old rocks or something. I figured Professor Oak would know what they really are."
Red nodded. "That's smart. He's the best person to ask about anything like that."
Delia smiled warmly. "Well, take care of yourself, Ash. And please call more often!"
Ash rubbed the back of his head. "I will, I promise!"
With their goodbyes said, Ash ended the call—his excitement growing for the next conversation.
Ash's Call with Professor OakNext, Ash dialed up Professor Oak, still curious about the mystery items he found in Mount Moon. The screen flickered, and soon, the professor appeared.
"Ah, Ash! Good timing—I was just about to call you," Oak greeted.
Ash tilted his head. "Wait, really? Why?"
Oak chuckled. "Because Naruto sent over some Pokémon for you."
Ash blinked. "Naruto sent me Pokémon? I didn't even know!"
Oak adjusted his glasses. "Indeed. He caught two Nidoran—male and female—and sent a pair to you while keeping one for himself. Seems he's making sure you have solid choices for your team."
Ash's eyes widened. "Wow, my brother always thinks ahead."
Oak chuckled. "Naruto sees potential where others might overlook it. These Nidoran could become powerful allies for you."
Ash nodded eagerly. "Then I'll train them well! I can't wait to meet them."
Just as Ash was about to end the call, he remembered the items he found. "Oh, wait! Professor, I found two weird items back in Mount Moon—I don't know what they are, but I figured you might."
Professor Oak stroked his chin. "Interesting. Do you have them with you?"
Ash nodded, reaching into his backpack and pulling them out. He held them up to the screen so Oak could get a better look.
The professor adjusted his glasses, studying them closely. "Ah, now this is fascinating. These appear to be fossils!"
Ash's eyes widened. "Fossils? Like, ancient Pokémon fossils?"
Oak nodded. "Precisely! You may have stumbled upon something quite rare. If you want, you can send them to me for examination, or if you're heading toward Cinnabar Island, the scientists there could possibly revive them into living Pokémon."
Ash's excitement grew. "No way! That's so cool! I'm definitely keeping these."
Oak chuckled. "A wise choice. Fossils can hold incredible secrets—who knows what ancient Pokémon you may uncover?"
With newfound curiosity, Ash securely packed the fossils away, now eager for the possibilities they held.
The adventure was only getting more exciting!
Back in the depths of Mount Moon, Naruto's adventure continued.
Having just caught a couple of Zubat and Sandshrew—one male and one female of each—he grinned in satisfaction. He wanted to build a balanced team by collecting both genders of every Pokémon he caught. Though he had his trusty Pikachu, he was hoping to catch a male Pikachu in the future—but that could wait for now.
As he ventured deeper into the cave, the dim light shimmered off the rocky walls. Something caught his eye—a collection of scattered items on the ground. Bending down, he examined them closely and grinned.
"Whoa… Moon Stones!" he muttered, picking up a few. These would be incredibly useful for evolving certain Pokémon. Alongside them, he found other valuable supplies that would come in handy on his journey.
Pikachu's ears twitched as wild Pokémon stirred nearby. Naruto adjusted his bag and stood up, ready for battle.
"Alright, let's do this," he said with determination.
Wild Pokémon lunged from the shadows, and Naruto sprang into action, battling and catching more creatures native to Mount Moon—along with a few rare Pokémon from other regions that had found their way into the cave.
With his team growing stronger and new discoveries in hand, Naruto's journey through Mount Moon was shaping up to be an unforgettable adventure. What awaited him deeper in the cavern?
Naruto stood firm as he faced the wild Pokémon before him, gripping his Pokédex and pointing it toward his opponent. The device whirred to life, scanning the creature and displaying its details on the screen.
Pokédex: "Geodude, the Rock Pokémon. It climbs mountain trails using only its arms. Because it's often mistaken for a rock, people step on it, angering it into battle."
Naruto's eyes gleamed with excitement. "Geodude, huh? Alright, this'll be a great battle!"
He glanced at Nidoran, nodding in approval. "Alright, buddy—let's see what you've got! Get into a battle stance!"
Nidoran immediately lowered himself, ears twitching as he locked onto his opponent.
Before starting, Naruto decided to check his new Pokémon's moves. He pulled out Dexter, scrolling through Nidoran's known techniques.
Pokédex: "Nidoran 's current moves: Poison Sting, Peck, Focus Energy, and Double Kick."
Naruto smirked. "Nice, those work perfectly!"
The battle was about to begin!
Nidoran's eyes gleamed as it concentrated, activating Focus Energy to heighten its chances for a critical hit. Its small body tensed with determination.
"Now—Double Kick!" Naruto commanded.
Nidoran dashed forward, its legs moving swiftly as it delivered two powerful kicks directly onto Geodude. The impact sent cracks through the rocky Pokémon's defenses, making it stagger backward.
Geodude groaned—it wasn't fast enough to dodge, and the damage left it weak.
Naruto pumped his fist in triumph. "Yes! Geodude is mine!"
Still perched on his shoulder, Pikachu flinched at his sudden jump, startled by the abrupt movement. Before Naruto could even react, smack! Pikachu slapped him lightly on the side of the head, shooting him a mildly annoyed look.
Naruto blinked, rubbing the spot where Pikachu had hit him. "Ow—okay, I get it. I scared you."
He exhaled, pulling himself together, shaking off the excitement. He usually wasn't one to jump around like that. He sighed. "Man… Mom's habits are rubbing off on me. I bet she's jumping up and down right now." He spoke dryly, picturing Delia's usual over-the-top enthusiasm.
Pikachu tilted her head at him before simply shrugging her small shoulders. Then, with a soft huff, she adjusted herself, laying comfortably on Naruto's shoulder again, clearly deciding the moment had passed.
With Geodude now officially part of his team and Pikachu back to resting mode, Naruto was ready to keep moving forward in Mount Moon—what other surprises awaited him deeper in the cavern?
Naruto took a deep breath as he stepped out of Mount Moon, finally reaching open air after the long trek through the cavern. He glanced up—the sky was a deep shade of navy, night having fully settled in.
He sighed in relief. His folding bike had made the journey easier, but battling wild Pokémon and trainers had pushed his team to new heights. Pidgey and Rattata had both learned new moves, as had Pikachu and Nidoran. His team was growing stronger with every battle.
Deciding to set up camp, Naruto found a good clearing and released his Pokémon. "Alright, everyone—time for a breather," he said with a grin. His Pokémon stretched and settled in, relaxing after the long adventure through Mount Moon.
With morning's arrival, Naruto had a plan—he'd fish for Water-type Pokémon, ready to add another strong ally to his team. The night was quiet, the soft rustling of leaves in the breeze calming as Naruto and his Pokémon rested, preparing for whatever awaited them next.
To be continued…
Next time:
Naruto awakens in the morning, refreshed and ready for a new challenge. With his fishing pole in hand, he heads to the nearby stream, determined to catch a Water-type Pokémon and expand his team.
