Chapter 6: The Things I Do
Bugsy's palms held Sabrina's hands. That explains the softness he felt. This wasn't the usual birthday gift he expected. "Sabrina?" Bugsy asked. "You wanna say something?" This question was answered by a slightly more confident Sabrina. "Yes. I want to say something. You make me do things I never expected myself to do. Cook you breakfast? Catching bugs in a net? Cuddling in bed together? Talking on the phone late at night?" She smiles. "It's nice doing these things. And I'm glad I could do them with you." She added, "So I suppose the feeling is mutual, Bugsy."
Bugsy blushes faintly but he smiles. "Can I… touch you a little? I just wanna see something." Sabrina guides one of his hands to her hips. "Is this suitable?" She asked. The young man's hand felt around her carefully. Was Sabrina always this junoesque? He looks up at her. "This is good. In fact, I like this." He said as Sabrina raised their other hands. They began to sway a little in unison. "Okay, confession. I never danced with a girl before. I mean I danced with Whitney before but not like this…" Bugsy admits. He was a noob to this slow dancing stuff. Just wasn't his style. Sabrina smiles. "Allow me to teach you, BG."
It felt like music started to play. A fairly gentle song. Bugsy recognized it. He follows Sabrina's lead, stepping along with her as they sway and spin together. Was this dancing? "This feels… nice." Bugsy said, getting used to it. He grows a warmer smile. "Wanna see something cool?" Whispered Sabrina. Soon, they both left the ground. Were they… flying? No. This was levitation. Bugsy remembers being lifted a bit on their first date, but this time he was a bit higher. Like 6 inches off the ground now. "Whoa… Midair dancing?" Bugsy whispers as he looks down. "Is this too much?" Asks Sabrina. Bugsy shook his head. "No. It's just fine." He said.
As the music reaches a critical point, their eyes meet. Sabrina shifts her hand from her hip to his chest. And then to his chin. And finally his cheek. She hesitated for a moment, as if contemplating her next move. Bugsy's face had traces of red. "'Brina? What's u- Mmmf?!"
His words are interrupted by the sudden advance of Sabrina's head. Their lips met together for a brief moment before she retreated slightly. Was that… did she… "Oooooh… Crikey!" Bugsy said, shuddering a little from the warmth that interaction gave him. "I-I can't believe I just did that!" Sabrina gasped with a face of red. "I can't believe I just SAID that!" Bugsy replied, the color of his face intensifying. "Oh crikey…" He repeats. Sabrina's blush grows stronger as she looks away slightly. They're about 2 feet off the ground now. Maybe even 3. The moonlight shined down on them.
Bugsy pulls Sabrina closer, their bodies touching together. His hands wrap around her waist. A sense of bravery flows through him. And it must've transferred to Sabrina, since she wraps her arms around her neck and turns her eyes right back to him. "...I love you, Tsukushi. Happy birthday." She says, "...I love you too, Natsume. Thank you." He responds. Their lips reunite, resulting in a series of smooches. Good thing nobody was around to see this. Well, nobody except a small grass psychic type Pokemon that used a spare radio from Bugsy's backpack to play the music. Neither Bugsy nor Sabrina noticed it when it giggled and fled into the forest's night.
