Kokabiel Arc Chapter 26: Team Bonding
A few hours pass and it was now 1:55 pm, 5 minutes until the designated time for the groups training session. Jiro and Irina walked towards Kuoh Academy, Irina clinging to Jiro's left arm tightly with a bright smile and a hop in her step. Jiro looked down at her with an amused smile.
"Heh, well you seem to be in high spirits." Jiro said, chuckling.
"Of course I am, I found myself an amazing boyfriend." Irina said, cheerfully to which Jiro said "Heh, good point."
Irina's expression turns slightly more serious as they walked. "...but, are you sure you'll be happy with me? You probably know this, but I can at times be the overly jealous and kinda clingy type. Is that okay?" Irina asked in slight concern, her grip on his arm tightening.
Jiro's expression softens as he looks down at her. "Of course it's okay. It can be kinda cute at times. And in fact it makes me happy, because it tells me that... you won't want to leave me." Jiro said, scratching the back of his head.
Irina expression softens as well as she looks up at him. "Never. I'd die before I ever do that. It was already so hard for us being separated over the past decade and now we're closer than we've ever been before. So let's stay together, for as long as we live." Irina said, giving him a determined, reassuring, and loving smile.
Jiro looks back down at her with a small blush on his face, touched by her words. "Yeah, that sounds amazing. Let's do that." Jiro said, now also sporting a smile as Irina nodded.
"But right now we have training to do, so let's go!" Irina said, cheerfully as she pulled him along slightly.
"Yeah, you're right. But don't go expecting me to go easy on you now just because we're dating now. I expect you too surpass your limits right here, right now." Jiro said with a mischievous smile.
"Don't worry, I don't expect you too go easy on me, nor do I want you too, I'll go far beyond my limits." Irina said with a determined smile.
It was now 2 pm on the dot. Raynare, Asia, and Xenovia had just landed on the Kuoh Academy track field. Raynare in her usual revealing leather clothing, Xenovia in her white cloak and church battle attire underneath, and Asia in her green nun attire. Rias, Akeno, Kiba, and Koneko exited the old school building and walked up to them. They all were wearing track suits, Akeno and Koneko however, were not wearing the jackets, instead wearing white t-shirts.
"Hey, you three seem to be getting along well." Rias said, playfully.
"Yeah, but their constant church talk gives me a headache." Raynare said, rubbing her temples. Asia chuckles sheepishly while Xenovia glares at her.
The student council chuckle at her comment as Kiba and Xenovia lock eyes and give each other a challenging smile.
"Hm, where could Jiro-kun and Irina-chan be?" Akeno asked, looking around.
"Yeah, now that you mention it, they're not here yet." Asia said, also looking around.
"If he has the balls to call us out here and not show up, I'll kick his lizard ass." Koneko said, her eyebrows furrowing slightly.
"Exactly who's ass will you be kicking, shorty." Jiro said, loudly as he and Irina approached making Koneko uncharacteristically jolt and hide behind Rias and Akeno.
They all turn to them and see Irina clinging to his left arm. "My, my, something appears to have changed between you two. I wonder what it is?" Akeno said, teasingly.
Jiro and Irina glance at each other for a second and smile before looking back at them. "Yeah, something has changed. You see me and Jiro-kun, we're a couple now." Irina said, proudly as Jiro scratched the back of his head.
Their eyes all widen in surprise at Irina's declaration before they all have their own reactions.
Asia: "Really? Congratulations too both of you. I pray that you lead a happy life together."
Xenovia: "Yes and be sure to invite me to your wedding."
Kiba: "Same here."
Raynare: "Well, it's about damn time."
Koneko: "Cool, you're kinda cute together."
Akeno: "Fufu, I'm jealous."
Rias didn't say anything, but simply pouted with a small blush on her face. "My, my, what's wrong, Rias? Do you wish you and Issei-kun were like that as well?" Akeno teased, while giggling.
Rias's blush deeped as she jolted. "W-WHAT?!! WHY WOULD I?!!" Rias yelled in embarrassment, although she secretly did wish that.
"Well, anyway, congratulations on your long overdue start to your love story. Although Jiro, if you're ever looking for some action and want to have an affair, just let me know anytime." Raynare said, teasingly, making Irina glare at her.
"Guess, I was right about that death wish yesterday." Jiro said as he grabbed Raynare's head and squeezed it while lifting her up as she yelled "Gyaaaaa!".
"Gyaaa! I was kidding, if I'm gonna sleep with anyone it's gonna be Issei, I swear!" Raynare said, flailing in his grip as Rias glared at her in annoyance.
"Huh? You trying to seduce my gang members now? You're a horny little crow ain't ya." Jiro said, squeezing her head tighter, making her yell louder
"GYAAAAAAAAA"
The others laughed at the antics while Xenovia stepped forward. "Ahem, sorry to interrupt Raynare's execution, but don't we have training to do?" Xenovia said, matter of factly.
"Oh yeah, right. Welp, looks like you get to live for today, Raynare." Jiro said, finally letting her go.
"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN 'FOR TODAY'?" Raynare yelled as she rubbed her head with a tear in her left eye.
Jiro walked a few feet away from the group in a random direction and then stopping. "Alright, you ready to start training?" Jiro asked, looking at them over his shoulder
"Yeah!" They all said in unison.
"Good, now come at me, all of you at once." Jiro said, turning around to face them fully and making a come on gesture with his right hand.
Their eyes widen at his command but don't back down. "Huh, e-even me as well." Asia asked, nervously.
"Oh yeah, I almost forgot you're not a fighter, Asia. You just sit on the bleachers and enjoy the show. You can heal everyone when we're done." Jiro said, gesturing to said bleachers.
Asia breathed a sigh of relief and began jogging while wishing everyone good luck.
Jiro then dug his feet into the dirt, leaving an imprint of his black boots, confusing some of them. "Alright, now all of you can come at me, all at once." Jiro said, looking back up at them with a smug smile while making another come on gesture his right hand.
The group look at him with determined glares as they unfurl all their respective wings and ready their respective weapons and magics. Irina and Raynare summoning two gold and purple light swords in each had while Irina glows a bright light and changed into her black church battle attire, similar Xenovia's, Kiba sprouts two swords with gold v-shaped hilts from the ground and grabbed them, Xenovia throws her white cloak away and draws her Excalibur Destruction, Koneko clinched her fists and took a fighting stance, and Rias and Akeno summoned their destruction and lightning respectively in their hands while flaring their auras.
"Whenever you're ready." Jiro said, cracking his neck.
Raynare is the first to charge in, flying at full speed, and swinging both her lights swords at him in an overhead strike. Jiro simply puts his left up, blocking her duel strike with his bare arm, with ease. Raynare's eyes widened as he blocked her attack.
"Well, well, doesn't this feel familiar?" Jiro said, with a mischievous grin. He then forcefully outstretched his arm, knocking her light swords out of her hands, and punched her in the stomach with his right hand, sending her sprawling backwards and landing on the ground.
The next to attack was Koneko who flew upwards, did a summer-salt and rocketed down towards him with her left leg stretched out aiming to foot dive kick him. Once she was in range Jiro grabbed her foot with his right hand, stopping her foot dive easily. He pulled on Koneko's foot, pulling her downwards, and landed a devastating left hook square in her face. His punch was so hard that not even her "Rook" abilities couldn't absorb the blow, sending her flying upwards through the air and landing on the ground with a loud thud sound. She slowly sits up while clutching her now bleeding nose.
The three swordsman, Irina, Xenovia, and Kiba all fly at full speed towards Jiro their respective swords ready. However Jiro proves to be too fast for them as Irina tries to overhead slash him, but he easily sidesteps to the right, dodging her slash, and making her stumble past him.
Before she could turn around fully Jiro elbows her in the back of the head. Kiba and Xenovia then try to slash at him, but in one quick movement, Jiro defects and redirects Xenovia's sword with his left hand and follows up with a right uppercut to her chin. Before Kiba could even bring his swords down, Jiro left roundhouse kicks him in the side.
The three swordsman get sent flying in three different directions from Jiro's strikes, but don't back down. Kiba shakes off the pain to his side and lands.
"SWORD BIRTH!!"
Kiba yells as he stands his blades into the ground, making the ground glow red as a barrage of blades sprout from the ground towards Jiro. Jiro, completely unintimidated by the attack, merely smirked and charged forward, tearing through all the blades, shattering them with his own body while being completely unaffected. Kiba looks on in shock as his special attack is rendered ineffective. Jiro charges up to Kiba, stopping inches in front of him, and says "Quite the fine Sacred Gear you got there." and then thrusts his right fist forward in front of Kiba's stomach and without even touching him, the sheer force of his fuax punch alone hit him, making it feel as though he actually connected.
Kiba feels the air get knocked out of him and flies backwards as Jiro jumps back to his original spot on the field. Irina and Xenovia then suddenly appear on either side of Jiro and attempt to slash at him simultaneously. Irina drawing her light swords back and Xenovia's Excalibur Destruction glowing blue as she activates its special ability. Jiro once again proves that he's far faster and in one spin, redirects and deflects their swords with his fist, and follows up by back hand punching Irina in the cheek with his right and uppercutting Xenovia in the chin again with his left simultaneously and completing his spin. The two angels fly backwards in opposite directions and land on their backs clutching their faces.
Rias and Akeno are the last to attack as they fly up, charge up their blasts and launch the most powerful blasts of destruction power and lightning they could muster at Jiro in unison. Jiro simply brings his fists in front of his chest and once the blasts were in range, outstretched his arms and knocking them into the air. The two blasts explode in mid-air as Rias and Akeno look on in shock that their most powerful attacks were deflected so easily. Then Jiro suddenly appears behind them in the air with his hands on the back of their heads. Before they could even react Jiro throws them down to the ground simultaneously. They hit the ground hard and bounce up slightly, making a loud thud sound and kicking up some dust as they hover a few feet of the ground. Jiro then suddenly appears in front them his back to them and elbows them in the face simultaneously, sending them flying back several feet until they land on their backs on the ground, their noses now bleeding as Jiro again jumps back to his original spot on the field.
'Hm, weird. I sensed more than just devil power from Akeno and Koneko. Especially Akeno with her lightning. Come to think of it her scent is similar to... Could she be...?' Jiro thought to himself in his head as he looked between Akeno and Koneko.
The whole group laid on the ground groaning in pain and clutching the places where they were struck.
"C'mon, don't tell me you're done already. We're just warming up." Jiro said, looking around at then.
They all jolt in surprise at his declaration. "W-wait, there's more?! We were only just getting started." Irina said sitting up from the ground.
"Precisely, didn't I tell you? Training with me will be absolute hell." Jiro said with a mischievous smile.
They all stand back up with determined expressions. "Yes, you did say that. But we'll push through it." Rias said to which everyone yelled "YEAH!!" in unison.
Jiro grinned at their determination. "Good, because while I'm putting you all through the ringer, I expect all of you to surpass your limits, right here, right now." Jiro said, authoritatively.
They all nod in determination as they all took fighting stances. They all charged at Jiro again, their attacks ready. The brawl continued for another 3 hours, everyone trying their best to outclass and outmaneuver Jiro. It was now 5 pm and the group finally collapsed from sheer exhaustion.
They were all sprawled across the track field covered in sweat, cuts, and bruises aside from Kiba and Xenovia who held themselves up with their blades stuck in the ground, all the while Jiro stands before them, completely fine.
"Heh, I think that should be enough for today. You all look terrible." Jiro said amused smikas they sat up slowly while groaning.
"Finally, we can breath again." Raynare said, playfully while groaning on the ground.
The others chuckled at her comment as they got back to their feet, Raynare following suit. "Heh, yeah, and just so you know, while you were all attacking me, you haven't even moved me from this spot. Other than me jumping or rushing towards you that is." Jiro said, pointing at the ground that showed the slightly dug up dirt and boot prints under his feet.
"What, are you serious?! After all that, you didn't get pushed back even a little?!" They all said in unison, in complete shock, and their pride slightly bruised.
"Is that why you dug your feet in the ground slightly before we started? To mark where you were standing?" Rias asked, eyes wide to which Jiro said "Precisely". They all looked at him in shock, awe, and slight jealousy.
"Heh, heh, anyway, I think I got a pretty good handle on your skill sets, draw backs, and room to improve." Jiro said as everyone got back to their feet fully and turned to him.
"Hey Asia, you can start healing everyone now." Jiro said, turning to Asia who was sitting on one of the bleachers, watching the fighting the whole time.
"Oh, yes, of course." Asia said, jolting at being called out, momentarily still surprised at everyone's strength. She ran over to them and started healing everyone one by one as Jiro turned his attention back to everyone.
"Alright, I would go over your set backs in your fighting styles, but since we don't know when Kokabiel and his cronies will make their move, there's no time to go over and have you improve on that yet. I do plan in the future after this mess is dealt with though, but for now I'll go over your individual ways of fighting character wise." Jiro said, looking around as they looked at him in anticipation.
"First, Irina, you're holding back to much and showing too much compassion to your opponent. I know that's just how you are as a whole and I get that you're probably afraid of hurting me since this was a sparing match, but in the heat of real combat, if you don't give your all and attack without mercy, you're gonna get hurt, or worse." Jiro said, turning and pointing at Irina.
Irina listened intently and nodded understanding he was right. "Yes, you're right. I hold back to much. But I'll work on that." Irina said, slightly sheepishly.
"Heh, good. Next, Rias and Akeno. You two rely on heavy hitting blasts and attacks, hoping to deal as much damage as possible and show how powerful your magic is. However doing so would not only drain your magic reserves, but could also cause some major collateral damage if you're blasts don't hit your opponents. Even now, when you threw those simultaneous blasts at me at the start, if I hadn't deflected them and knocked them into the air, you could've ended up destroying the school's gym again. What you should do his throw smaller and faster blasts in order to wear your opponents down and then use more power as a finishing move." Jiro said, pointing at the two girls.
"Yes, we understand. We'll try to show a little more restraint in out attacks and not try to show off." Rias said, nodding.
"Yeah, and we'll work on choosing our trajectory better as to not destroy anything by accident." Akeno said, also nodding.
"Good, Next, Kiba and Xenovia. You two are too much about 'honor' and displaying your blade's special abilities to often, Kiba with his Sword Birth and Xenovia with your Excalibur's destructive power. This makes your attacks to predictable and easy to counter with how much you telegraph it and along with that it can come a cost to your speed, which is just as important to a swordsman as honor is. What you should do is focus and look for an opening, then use those abilities, catching your opponent off guard and finish the job." Jiro said, pointing to the two knights who nodded.
"Yes, it would be wise to focus on our fight and not put so much emphasis on our pride as knights." Xenovia said, nodding
"And catch our opponents off guard with our special abilities? I'm sure my Sword Birth would be best equipped for that. We'll try our best." Kiba said, looking at his sword and then nodding.
"Good, next, Koneko. You rush in too much, hoping to show off your defensive "Rook" abilities and strength and put up very little guard. And while wanting to prove yourself is a good thing to have for improvement, getting to carried away could cost you and could end up getting hit in the wrong place. What you should do is put your guard up firmly and prevent any hits to any sensitive or vital areas, giving your "Rook" abilities even better utilization." Jiro said, pointing to the "Rook".
"Hmph, makes sense, the last thing I want is to get kicked in the crotch or something, so I'll give it my best." Koneko said in her usual deadpan expression, but a hint of determination in her voice.
"Heh, heh, good. Now then, last, but not least Raynare. To be blunt, you're way too overconfident. I'm guessing you're probably used to wining most fights you get into, however getting too cocky could be your undoing. Think back to when we first met on that bridge. I instantly knew you were a fallen angel the second I saw you because you didn't think I would sense your unholy aura and power and when we fought you not only started getting careless and desperate from being overpowered by me, but also at the start, tried to mock and scare me before actually attacking and was so sure of yourself you threw a minuscule light spear, thinking that would be enough. And now thought miniscule attacks would work." Jiro said, pointing at Raynare.
Raynare looked at him, eyes wide for a second and then frowned. She knew he was very much right. She had in fact grown cocky and full of herself after the many fights she had won, easily.
"So, I'd advise you to never underestimate your opponents, because you never know what they could capable of. Hell if I was any other kind of fighter you could've been killed on that day of our fake date. All in all you don't let your guard down or let yourself get overwhelmed when under pressure going forward." Jiro said, finishing.
Raynare nodded as she took in his words. "Yeah, I get what you mean. I'll be sure to keep that in mind." Raynare said, crossing her arms under her chest.
Asia finished healing everyone as they let out a sigh, feeling relieved of their pain, but still slightly exhausted.
"Ok now, like I said we're done for today. As for going forward, sparing with me is what you'll be doing everyday until Kokabiel comes out of hiding. When me, Irina, Rias, Akeno, Kiba, and Koneko finish whatever stuff we need to do and leave school we'll meet here and spar for 2 hours, work on another training activity I have in store for 1 hour, and then you rest for the evening. Got that?" Jiro said, looking between them.
They all nodded, understanding what they'll be required to do for the time being and in anticipation for what the other activity will be. "Seems like a reasonable schedule." Rias said while nodding.
"Yeah, we continue our priorities and then get right to training, sounds good." Irina said, approvingly.
"And that gives us time to rest and prepare." Xenovia said, turning to Raynare.
"Oh, thank Satan. Getting covered in dirt and bruises all day, ain't good for a girls complexion." Raynare said, dusting off her shoulder.
"Yeah, neither is wearing nothing but leather straps, but here you are." Jiro said, deadpan while the others chuckled and Raynare glared at him.
"Anyway, you're all dismissed, do whatever you want till tomorrow." Jiro said, waving his hand up and down.
After hearing his words Irina steps up with a proposal. "Hey, here's and idea: why don't we all go shopping together for the rest of the evening. Since we're gonna be a team now, it'll be a good way for us to bond as friends." Irina said with cheerful smile.
"Yeah, that sounds great." Rias, Akeno, and Asia said in unison, Rias and Akeno perking up at the mention of shopping and Asia perking up at the mention of bonding together.
"Sounds good to me. I was in the need for more polish for my swords." Kiba said, smiling while dispersing his swords.
"You are such a Prince Charming, but yeah I'm down for shopping. I need me some sweets." Koneko said while Kiba chuckled at her comment.
"Hell yeah, I could use some cute new outfits." Raynare said, looking up in thought.
"Heh, heh, What? Looking to get more straps?" Jiro said, chuckling in amusement.
"It's for my Yuma form, smart ass" Raynare said, glaring at him.
"Shopping, you say? Honestly, I've never been to such a thing." Xenovia said, making Rias, Akeno, and Raynare yell "WHAAAT?!!" in unison.
"Hey, I always offered to take you, but you always refused, Xenovia-chan." Irina said, pouting.
"Of course, being a knight of the church, training and improvement must be top priority." Xenovia said striking another dramatic pose with her right hand on her hip and her left gripping her sword handle.
"That defeats the whole purpose of a day off." Irina said as she sweat dropped and her shoulders slumped.
The group chuckle at the exchange. "Well, you're gonna have your first shopping trip today, girl. I can't wait to dress you up in so many cute things." Akeno said, playfully
"Yeah, that sounds fun." Irina and Raynare said in unison as they smile mischievously.
Jiro then jolts and looks into a random direction. Rias and Asia turn to him, noticing his expression.
Rias: "Is something wrong, Jiro!"
Asia: "Jiro-san...?"
The others turn to him with curious expressions. "No, it's nothing bad, but it's something that calls for my attention. You guys can go on ahead, I'll catch up." Jiro said, prepares to leave.
"Wait, Jiro-kun if it's important enough for you to have to investigate, shouldn't we all go with you? We're a team aren't we?" Irina said as the others nod in agreement.
"I know we're a team, but this ain't a real threat that requires all of us. Besides you all should rest and enjoy your shopping trip, I'll meet you there. All I have to do is sense you, which is pretty easy." Jiro said, reassuringly.
They all nodded reluctantly. "You heard the boss man, leave it to him." Koneko said, pulling out a lollipop.
"Alright, but remember, if you need help let us know. Like Lady Gabriel said: no one can do everything by oneself." Asia said, smiling as everyone again nods in agreement.
Jiro smiles at their words. "Heh, thanks, but I haven't forgotten. Anyway, see you in a bit." Jiro said, then suddenly disappeared as though he teleported.
"Woah, how the hell does he move so fast?!" Raynare said as she looked at where Jiro was just standing, the others thinking the same thing.
"I don't know, but it always looks cool when he does." Irina said, also looking where he was just standing with a dreamy look.
Some of the other girls then turn to her with mischievous looks, making her nervous as they start walk off the schools grounds and towards the shopping district.
Raynare: "Alright, now spill it, Irina. How did you two make it official?"
Rias: "That's right, we want all the details. Who confessed to who?"
Akeno: "Fufu, and don't leave a single detail out, we want to know everything. Got it, girl."
Xenovia: "And after that, you will tell us when the wedding will take place."
Irina blushed at their commands. "H-hey wait, this is bit sudden, and Xenovia-Chan, it's way too early to think about that!" Irina said while waving her hands in the air.
They chuckled at her response and slowed down. "Very well, we'll take it easy, but you're going to fill us in as we walk." Rias said, chuckling
"F-fine..." Irina said while fidgeting with her fingers. They all chuckled and at her cute expression and continued their walk to the Kuoh Shopping District while she spoke.
Meanwhile halfway across town
Ravel walked along the side walk of Kuoh Town. After getting permission from Rias to spend time there, both the previous day and this day, she went to see most of the towns well known structures. However there was one thing she hadn't done was explore the shopping district and go find a certain someone which she would constantly put off out of embarrassment.
"Hrm, I want to try and go and find him so bad, but it's way too embarrassing. What if he weirded out by me and shoos me away? No, no, calm down, Ravel, with the kind of things you've heard him do, there's no way he would do something so cruel." Ravel said out loud to herself as her cheeks burned in embarrassment.
"Ugh, I won't get anywhere like this. I'm a high-class devil, just going to meet someone should be child's play for someone like me... Even if they idolize him... Right?" Ravel said as she continued walk.
By this time the sun was beginning to set, although the streets were very quit. Ravel continued her walk, her mind clouded with thoughts, until she senses a familiar unholy presence approaching her. From what she could tell there was multiple beings approaching her at a fast rate. She turned to the direction where they were coming from and readied herself.
A few seconds later a group of six fallen angels flew up above her. "Fallen angels?! What are those doing here?!" Ravel said stepping back slightly and summoning flames in her hands.
"Well, well, what do we have here? We were sent to scout out this town and keep an eye on the devil brats here, but she ain't one of our targets." one of the fallen angels said, looking down at her.
"She may not be a target, but I think I recognize her. I think her name was... Ravel Phenex." another fallen angel said, thoughtfully.
"I thought those flames looked familiar. So she's from the Phenex Clan is she? This could be good." a third fallen angel said as he summoned a light spear, the others doing the same.
Ravel's eyes widened as she saw them summon their weapons.
"It's your lucky day, little Phenex. Since you're not one of the devils we have to keep an eye on, you're on the 'OK to kill' list." The lead fallen angel said as he prepared to throw his light spear.
"If you think I could be that easy to kill, you're a fool, you fallen angel filth." Ravel said as the flames in her hands intensified.
"Then let's see." The fallen angel said as he threw the light spear with great strength. Ravel unfurled her Phoenix devil wings and took flight, dodging the light spear. She flew up to their level and threw a large blast of Phoenix flames from her hands at them.
The fallen angels scattered, avoiding her blast and charged towards her, light weapons ready. Ravel threw smaller blasts at them as they dodged while flying towards her. Once in range they started swinging their weapons at her ferociously.
Ravel flew around them trying her best to dodge their light weapons the best she could, but during their relentless assault she received a graze on her left arm. With her regenerative abilities the wound had begun to close itself. However it healed at a much slower rate then usual. Her wound burned and sizzled as she winced in pain.
The fallen angels chuckled at her pained expression and paused their assault. "What's wrong? I thought it wouldn't be easy to kill you? You look like you're gonna cry." The lead fallen angel said, mockingly.
"Tch, shut your mouth! I'm not even close to done!" Ravel yelled as she summoned more flames in her hands, ready to continue. One of the fallen angels flew above her with great speed and took a slash at her with his light sword.
Ravel reacting quickly moved to her left in mid-air in an attempt to evade the attack. However she wasn't quick enough and sustained a slash to her right shoulder. Ravel welped in pain as some blood gushed out of the wound.
The same fallen angel, while grinning mischievously, followed up by kicking her in the side, knocking her down to the ground hard. Ravel tried to stood back up shakily as she clutched her shoulder while it tried to heal itself. Ravel looked as though she was on the brink of tears as the fallen angels looked down at her while laughing.
"Aha, ha, ha, look at you. And here I thought the Phenex Clan was one of the strongest devil households out there, Aha ha ha." The lead fallen angel said while laughing heartily, the others doing the same.
Ravel, with tears in her eyes, glared up at them as memories began rushing through her mind.
"Aha, ha, ha, you call those flames, Ravel?! Their so weak! How embarrassing, Aha ha ha!" Riser laughed with his right hand covering one of his eyes.
"To think she's apart of the esteemed House of Phenex. Shes so weak compared to her brothers. What an embarrassment. I almost feel bad for them." One of the meeting guests said to her colleagues while glancing at Ravel.
"How could you possibly be so pathetic, Ravel?! You're a disgrace to the Phenex Clan! I can't believe our mother and father created something so abysmal!" Ruval said, looking down at Ravel with a condescending and disgusted look.
"No!! I'm not weak! I'm not pathetic! I'm not an embarrassment!" Ravel yelled to herself while shaking her head with her eyes closed as tears rolled down her face.
"Heh, heh, Jeez man. Now look what you did. You made the poor little birdie cry." one of the fallen angels said to the lead fallen while chuckling.
"No! I won't give up! I will win!" Ravel yelled as a large blast of flames shot out from her entire body towards the fallen angels. Seeing the blast coming the fallen attempted to block with their light weapons. The flames engulfed them all, however they had only received very minor burns that they easily ignored.
They all smirked and all flared their unholy purple auras simultaneously. The force of their auras blew Ravel's flames back and, her being a devil, the unholy light of their auras burned Ravel's skin in places as she yelled and fell backwards.
Her burns slowly healed as the fallen angels descended, landed, and stood over her. Ravel looked up with fear in her eyes as she tried to crawl backwards in a futile attempt to escape.
"Heh, you think we don't know how those Phoenix flames of yours work? You can regenerate from any wound, however that regeneration consumes your energy and magic reserves, so you can't heal forever. And on top of that, you may have the power of the immortal bird, but you're still a devil. The light of an angel, fallen or otherwise, can falter that very regeneration, so you stood no chance against us." The lead fallen angel said, looking down at her with a condescending smile.
Ravel looked at him eyes wide at his near perfect discription of her family's signature abilities. The lead fallen walked up and lifted his light sword over her. Ravel shivered in fear, seeing what his intention was.
'N-no! I can't... It can't end like this!' Ravel thought to herself as tears fell from her eyes.
"Now then, looks like there's only one thing left to do: Skewer this bird." The lead fallen said as he brought down his light sword while Ravel closed her eyes, bracing herself as she said 'I really am weak and pathetic.' in her head.
Before he could impale her a red streak zipped by as the light sword stabbed the ground. The fallen angels eyes widened as they saw Ravel had disappeared. They all looked around in confusion, trying to locate her.
"Jeez, how many crows does it take to kill one little devil girl? Talk about sad." Jiro said, looking down at the fallen angels with a mock disappointed look.
