Chapter oneThis story popped into my head a while ago and I'm not sure how many chapters will complete

Watching the earthly doorways was a pass time of mine, just then he came through chest bare, skin tanned, knives tucked into his belt, his shendyt (loincloth) slung low over his hips, he was muscular with dark hair more black than brown, and he was well beautiful, I wanted nothing more than to touch his chest, which I noticed had a fair bit of hair over the centre of his chest, I side-eyed him my heart should have been pounding as he turned and caught my eye gave me a raised eyebrow and a smile and headed off to the archway to the field of reeds realm.

I came to the hallway of realms daily. It was a great way to pass the time. I would talk to the staff on the afterlife desk, moral souls that had just arrived and watch deities as they pass through to go for coffee at the several coffee shops in the social realms.

I had just finished talking with Astra as we were going to the social realms that evening when I saw him approach I knew he was there the hair on the back of my neck stood up but seeing as this was my family routine knew it was his time to come through the early archway, just as he did every day.

Iy he said and bowed his head as he came to a stop in front of me

I stood and extended my hand. Hi, I'm Fae. He grasped my hand and shook not tight, just enough pressure to be gentle.

Iy or Hi, Fae I am Maahes an ancient Egyptian deity,

Hi Maahes, it's a pleasure to meet you, I couldn't help it. My eyes wandered up and down his chest, his tanned, toned chest. The centre of his chest held dark curls I wanted to tangle my fingers in.

I see you here every day. Are you awaiting a loved one, a husband, mother, father, or sibling?

Oh no, no, I just came here to watch the world go by,

His eyes brows creased and lips twisted to the side this must be his thinking face

He pointed to the seat I had been sitting in. Once I was sitting down again, he took the seat over and turned to face me with his whole body.

Sorry, I don't understand watching the world go by. There are no worlds here. He took my statement literally.

Oh, I'm sorry, it's a mortal statement. It just means watching people and passing the time.

I see now, thank you.

His reaction to a presence in the field of Reed's archway caused his body language to change ever so slightly. Will you be here tomorrow around sunset?

I will be.

Then I will see you tomorrow just before sunset

See you tomorrow. I stood and watched his powerful legs; I couldn't help it. He stopped only for a split second as he got to the archway and smiled before disappearing thought.

Well, aren't we miss Egyptian deities popular? I smiled. I knew it was Astra coming up behind me, her eyebrows raised so high they were in her hairline.

I wouldn't say that

Oh, sweetheart, you have no idea. Let's go to mortal cocktails, and I'll tell you why I think your deity is popular she linked my arm, and off we went

Mortal Cocktail wasn't massively busy, but it was busy for a deity, worker school night. Astro ordered, and I grabbed a table near the window overlooking what you would think was a busy New York street with plenty of souls and deities walking around heading for their favourite hangouts.

Here is your long Island ice tea, with extra vodka, my dear girl Astra smiled as she placed my drink down and took her seat opposite to me, well now let's talk about your deity boy toy and why I think your deity is popular she smirked over her heavenly highway cocktail, you end up with a beautiful little kitten from the one and only Fraja, who I might add doesn't give her cats away easily, and then you capture the eye of none other than the God of war and protected and my personal friend, Mi or Maahes, believe me, girl when I say this, he doesn't talk to people easily.

Oh, you know him?

Of course, girl, he's a good friend. He's been here as long as I have, and I'll say this not because I like you and you're my friend, but because you're special, my dear girl.

I opened my eyes, I quickly realised I was home, and for the countless times I've been out with Astra, I have no idea how I made it home, and there as usual was my cat Charm sitting on his perch the side of my bed looking down on me, his eyes told me he wasn't my friend at the moment.

I threw myself out of my bed, still in last night's clothes. And headed for the shower, thankfully hangovers don't last long in the afterlife; no working liver, you see.

After spending the day lounging around and giving Mr charm cuddles for watching over me, it was time to get ready. I felt compelled to wear my nice jeans and a top and do my hair better than I normally do it.

Charm sat at the bathroom door watching me; what is up with you today, Mr. Charm? I scooped him up for an extra snuggle. I had a quick coffee and headed for the Hallway of realms, Mr Charm was on my heel; he normally followed me, then went off to see Fraja.

As soon as my heels hit the hallway, Astra was at my side. Hay girl, how's the head?

Not too bad, but how did I get home? I took you home after your 11th Long Island, then I asked Mr charm here. She scooped down and tickled his chin to watch out for you, and if you needed me he was to come and get me.

Thanks, Astra. It means a lot to know you're my drunken-arse bodyguard, and you too, Mr charm, who I scooped up and snuggled. My face into his soft fur before he wiggled away and headed off for the Norse Realm.
