Jenny Hawkens

Chapter 1

And now, dear readers, I will tell you a story about a certain Jenny Hawkens. She was not just a young lady, she was considered a princess. And she lived in India. She really wanted to go to a boarding school. Her parents (rulers of India) sent her to a boarding school on an island. But Jane did not want to go to this school. After all, this school was a horror story for all girls of that time. But the strict parents, of course, did not listen to Jenny.

That's how Jane Hawkins ended up at the Intenant School. Upon arrival, the director himself came out to meet her. He was a short, stocky, middle-aged man with a black beard, hair and sideburns of the same color. His face was expressionless: his eyes were blue, his nose was flat; his mouth was hidden by sideburns. He also had an assistant and several bodyguards, guards and loaders with him. While the latter were unloading the ship, Jenny took a good look at the assistant. He was a tall, moderately well-fed man about thirty-five years old with blond hair and a short mustache. His eyes were like the director's, but they expressed a mixture of cunning and malicious mockery. The mouth was twisted into an ironic grin.

-Director William W., - the man with sideburns introduced himself, - and this is my colleague, Urbulhaps Kamengem. And now let me tell you about our custom. Let's go.

And William W. told about this custom something like this:

-We have a custom to implant a special plate into the shoulder of every boarding school student in case that student dies (you will be able to recognize her by this "thing")...well, aren't you afraid? - with these words he took the knife.

- No, - the girl answered, - I'm not afraid. But I'm not ready yet...
