Chapter 1
"So this was supposed to be a family vacation," Tony commiserated to Jill.
"Are you into windsurfing?" Jill asked.
"I can't believe she's having a good time and I'm all alone."
"Who? Angela?"
"Please don't say that name..."
Suddenly there was a loud pop and they saw someone flying through the air. Wait, was the Angela? Tony wondered to himself. "I'll be back. I need to go check on something quick" he called to Jill as he hurried off.
Thank goodness! Jill thought to herself.
Tony took off in the direction where the body went flying. Sure enough, there was Angela lying on the beach. God, she looks so sexy in that bikini.
Angela turned her head and saw Tony standing there, staring at her. Well, at least I finally got his attention."Hi Tony!"
"Hey there Angela! So what are you doing"
"I just did the human canonball. It's so exilarating! Getting the total island experience."
Without me. "Oh. So what's next on your list? Skydiving? Parasailing? What daredevil thing are you going to do next?" he shouted at her, more harshly than he'd intended.
"I had actually planned to come find you and see if you wanted to go for a late afternoon swim with me, but maybe I'll go try bungee jumping instead! I mean, you seem pretty upset right now..."
"No, Angela, I just haven't been exactly having fun today. Jonathan's off playing with his French girl Monique, Samantha is off doing who knows what, Mona is off looking for cabana boys, and you're having "the total island experience". This was supposed to be a family vacation, yet noone is doing anything together."
"Let's go for that swim so that we can talk, Tony."
They found a private cove a few hundred feet from the shore, and swam there to talk privately. No one else was around as there was some kind of talent contest on the other end of the beach.
"Tony, yes, I have been enjoying myself thiis weekend." Great, I swam out for this he thought. "But what I want you to know is that the best times in my life are with you. The whole reason I was able to do the human cannonball is because of your influence on me. Five years ago I couldn't do anything close to that. You've taught me that my work is not my life, but my life is my life."
"Ange, I'm glad that I could help you in that way, but why can't we do some fun things together here?" She loved when he used this nickname for her.
"Of course we can, Tony! So, what would you like to do with me?" she asked seductively.
Madonna mia, I know what I'd love to do with you my love. "Would it be okay if I kissed you?"
Wait, what did he just say? He wants to kiss you, you big dummy!
"I mean, if you don't want to kiss me, I understand" he said dejectedly.
"Yes, Tony, you may kiss me."
"Really?"
"Yes, really." He pulled her close and kissed her then, A slow sweet kiss. I love kissing her. He was first to break contact, though she wasn't sure why. Then he pulled her back in his arms and kissed her again, with more passion this time.
When they finally came up for air, Tony said "I think we both know where this is leading."
"Yeah, so what's your point?"
"Well, call me old-fashioned but I don't think we can do this until we're married."
"Until?"
"I mean unless..."
"Unless?"
"Well, yeah..."
"Tony, you've thought about us getting married?"
"I don't know, it went through my mind once or twice."
"Oh Tony, I've thought about us getting married too!"
"You have?"
"Yes."
"Well, if I were to ask you, what would you say?"
"Try me."
"Angela, I love you with all of my heart, Will you do the honor of becoming my wife?"
"Yes, Tony, yes I will marry you! I've been in love with you for so long, I can't recall a time that I wasn't."
"Oh, I've been in love with you almost from the day we first met. Angela you have made me the happiest man."
"And you have made me the happiest woman, Tony Micelli."
They sealed their engagement with a tender, loving kiss. Then they went off to find Mona and the kids.
