Peter Parker, Ned, and MJ Hacking Gone Wrong
It was an unusually quiet Saturday afternoon, and for Peter Parker, Ned Leeds, and MJ, that was a disaster. The three teenagers sat in their makeshift "lair" a combination of Ned's cluttered bedroom and the living room couch bored out of their minds.
Peter had exhausted his supply of web slinging practice, Ned had scrolled through every meme on the internet twice, and MJ had given up on her book to stare blankly at the ceiling. It wasn't even raining to give them an excuse to stay inside.
"Ugh, I can't take it anymore," Peter groaned, tossing his phone aside. "I'm so bored. Being a superhero is supposed to be exciting, right?"
"You're a superhero, Peter," MJ pointed out with a bored sigh. "You should be doing something way cooler than... sitting here with us."
"Tell me about it," Peter said, throwing his hands up dramatically. "Maybe I could fight some random bad guys or something. I'm getting a little tired of beating up dudes in Spandex. They're not even creative anymore."
Ned, who had been suspiciously quiet, suddenly sat up, an idea lighting up his face like a Christmas tree. "Wait, I got it," he said, grinning. "Peter, remember that time we tried to hack into Tony Stark's system just to mess around? That was fun."
Peter raised an eyebrow. "Ned, you almost shut down the entire Avengers compound."
"Details, details," Ned dismissed with a wave of his hand. "But here's the thing there's something way cooler than Tony Stark's files."
MJ, who had been mindlessly scrolling through her phone, looked up, intrigued. "What's cooler than hacking into the Avengers' files?"
Ned leaned forward. "Alexandra Knight. Have you heard of her?"
Peter blinked. "Uh, the rich, genius, warrior with the freakishly powerful magic abilities who literally terrifies anyone who tries to cross her?"
Ned nodded eagerly. "Yep, that's the one. I've been hearing rumors about her estate and some secretive research she's doing. But, I'm curious... what would happen if we tried to hack into her servers? You know, for fun."
Peter shot him a look. "Are you out of your mind? Do you want to end up as a mysterious puddle on the sidewalk? Have you seen the crazy stuff she's capable of?"
MJ chimed in, looking amused. "I don't know, Peter. A little hacking never hurt anyone... except for the people who get caught."
Ned grinned. "Exactly! What's the worst that could happen? It's just a little harmless fun. Besides, we're teenagers. We're supposed to do stupid stuff like this."
Peter sighed, but there was a hint of mischief in his eyes. "Fine. Let's do it. But if we die, I'm blaming you."
Phase One: The Hack
With no further hesitation, the trio loaded up their laptops and began to tap away at their keys. Peter's hacking skills were decent, but they were still no match for the serious security systems Alexandra had set up around her servers. However, Ned had his own plan.
"I've been doing some research on her," Ned said as he typed furiously. "It turns out that her servers are basically a fortress of firewalls. But, I found a backdoor. It's tricky, but it'll work."
Peter shot him a skeptical glance. "A backdoor? Are we seriously doing this?"
"I'm in," Ned declared. "The backdoor is open. Now we just need to figure out what we're looking for."
MJ raised an eyebrow. "You're sure this is a good idea?"
But before they could make any more decisions, Ned, in his usual fashion, didn't wait for permission. He pressed enter, and a few moments later, their screen was flooded with a series of encrypted files. For a second, there was nothing unusual. Then came the noise.
A loud, screeching sound erupted from their speakers, followed by an endless stream of extremely explicit content gay porn on a loop. The three of them froze in horror as the video blared across their screens.
"What. The. Hell?" Peter yelped, jumping up from his seat as though the computer had just set him on fire.
MJ gagged, quickly pulling her hoodie over her eyes in a futile attempt to block out the screen. "Oh my God, is that WHAT IS THIS?!"
"I—WHAT?!" Ned shouted, pressing every button on his laptop in a panic. "This wasn't supposed to happen! I just wanted to see her research!"
Peter frantically tried to close the file, but every time he thought he was getting close, the video loop would reset, starting the whole absurd nightmare all over again.
"NO!" Peter shrieked, trying to pull his laptop away from his face. "Why? Why does this keep happening to me?"
Ned slapped his hand over his forehead. "I'm so sorry. I didn't think this would this wasn't in the plan!"
MJ, now cringing and visibly uncomfortable, suddenly spoke up. "Wait, wait! What if—what if we can get Doctor Strange to help us? He can erase our memories, right? He's all about the whole 'magic' thing!"
"Wait, you know Doctor Strange?" Peter asked, blinking in disbelief. "You just casually bring up the Sorcerer Supreme? Why would you even think of asking him?"
"Well, he's magical," MJ said, throwing her hands up as if it was the most logical thing in the world. "He could totally fix this. Can you imagine walking around with this traumatic memory forever? My brain will literally break."
Ned nodded enthusiastically. "I mean, seriously, can we just forget this ever happened?"
Peter ran his hand through his hair, his face turning an alarming shade of red. "Please, can we not involve Doctor Strange in this? What if we make him think we're weirdos or something? He's going to show up and be like, 'Why are these kids so obsessed with me?'"
Suddenly, the group's panic was interrupted by the unmistakable sound of someone snickering. Peter looked up in horror to find none other than Tony Stark, who had just entered the room, casually leaning against the doorway with an amused grin plastered on his face.
"Well, well, well," Tony said, wiping away a tear from laughing. "I knew you kids were up to something, but I didn't think you'd go for something like this."
Ned, red-faced and mortified, stammered, "Uh, it's not what it looks like! We didn't—"
"You guys are adorable," Tony interrupted, stepping into the room and flicking a button on the computer to close the loop. "I'm guessing you found Alexandra Knight's server, huh? Don't worry, I've been there before."
Peter gave Tony a glare. "Are you... are you seriously laughing at us right now?"
"Absolutely," Tony said, chuckling. "Honestly, I'm kind of impressed you even managed to get in there. But come on this is why you never hack into someone like her. She's got firewalls that would make Ultron jealous."
"Yeah, we figured that out," MJ said, folding her arms. "But now we have to deal with... this."
Tony, still grinning, shrugged. "Look, just think of it as a life lesson. Don't mess with people who have way more tech than you. But hey, at least you learned something today."
Ned raised his hands in defeat. "Well, if I'm going down, I'm going down with my dignity in shambles."
Tony grinned and patted Ned on the shoulder. "Don't worry, kid. This whole incident will probably get swept under the rug. But if you ever need help erasing memories which I do not recommend," Tony added, shooting Peter a look, "give me a call."
Phase Three: The Aftermath
Later that night, back at the Parker residence, Peter, MJ, and Ned were all sitting around, nursing the bruises to their pride. Peter couldn't stop shaking his head, trying to forget the horrors of the endless video loop.
"I don't even want to think about it anymore," Peter said with a shudder. "Please tell me I'll forget this."
"Don't worry," MJ said. "I've got my own personal method of coping." She pulled out a bottle of wine. "One drink, and I won't remember any of this."
Ned nodded sagely. "You know, I was thinking... next time, maybe we just stick to normal teenage stuff. Like, I dunno... video games? Not hacking into terrifyingly powerful people's servers?"
"Agreed," Peter said. "Agreed."
As they settled in for the night, the distant sound of Tony Stark's laughter echoed in Peter's mind, and he knew one thing for certain: He was never going near Alexandra Knight's servers ever again.
The End.
