Chapter 1: Carthenon temple

Konohagakure no Sato, Forest of Death

"Demon! Today you will die for all those you killed!"a Leaf Shinobi screamed out as he and seven other Shinobi chased a whisker marked blue eyed blond haired boy through the forest of death.

"C'mon Naruto, you got to somehow escape or hide from them."the now named Naruto Uzumaki said running through the forest and looking at his surroundings.Suddenly he felt a pull to look to his upper right corner of his eyes until he saw a cave.

"I will have to bet everything on this cave because if I continue running like this they will catch, dattebayo."Naruto said and change his route and ran straight to the cave.

"No matter where you run we will catch and kill you demon!"yelled Suzume the only kunoichi of the group as they pursued him into the cave.

After running for a few minutes Naruto soon came up to three different pathways.He followed his gut and ran into the one at the right.

Naruto ran and ran deeper into the cave until he came face to face with huge doors.

"Wow, this doors are huge."Naruto said softly as he looked amazed.

He pushed the doors and was surprised that the doors opened so easily.When he entered he closed the doors immediately.He jumped in surprise when the room lit up in blue lighting as torches along the walls lit up with blue flames.

"Whoa, what is this,"Naruto said as he saw that the room is filled with giant statues."Damn, that statue is huge, dattebayo!"Naruto screamed out as he saw a statue who's sheer size surpassed all the other statues in the room.The statue was sitting on a throne with a crown on its head and two lines running from its eyes.

"It seems no one's been here for a long time, dattebayo."Naruto said seeing grass growing on the walls and on the statues.

"Huh, each statue has a different weapon or instrument in their hands.Wonder why?"Naruto thought out loud as he walked closer to the giant statue that is sitting until he was right in front of it.

'Why am I feeling so uneasy.'Naruto thought as stared at the statue in trepidation.Naruto turned his head to the right and saw a robed statue with wings holding a tablet in its hands.He walked to it and looked at the tablet.

"Huh, it's written in kanji.Let's see here what it says.Carthenon Temple's Commandment,"Naruto said as he reads the commandment."First, Worship the Lord.Second, Praise the Lord.Third, Prove thy faith."

'What's… this.. feeling.The air has changed.It feels like I'm knocking on death's door...'Naruto thought as his heart started racing and he began sweating.He forced himself to read the final lines of the commandment."Those who do not follow these commandments, will never return alive."

As he said those words the doors of the temple opened.Naruto quickly turned his head in fright and saw the eight Shinobi entering the temple.

"Well, well, well.Looks like you have nowhere to run now demon,"the leader of the group said as they walked to Naruto."You found quite a nice place to be your tomb."

"Damn, they found me."Naruto said as he thought of how to escape from this situation.

"Uh, Ryuji this place creeps me out man.Let's just leave."one of the Shinobi said with the rank of Chunin looking at all the giant statues in fright.

"Don't worry Goto.We will leave as soon as we kill the demon."The leader of the group now named Ryuji said.As they got to the centre of the room the doors suddenly slammed closed.

"What the hell!The doors just closed on their own.I can't do this.You guys can kill the demon.I will leave."Goto said as he walked to the doors.

"Fine, leave Scaredy cat.That was just a trick done by the demon to scare us. "Ryuji mocked him as he got closed to the doors.When he touched the doors the statue with the trident suddenly lifted its weapon and sliced the Chunin in half.

"What…what the hell!"Suzume screamed out in horror.

"These…things can move!!!"Ryuji screamed out as he was frightened that Goto was killed that easily.

'Wait, if these statues can move then…'Naruto thought scared as he turned his head to the giant statue sitting on its throne.As he stared at the statue for 10 seconds the giant statue's eyes glowed golden and looked straight at him.

"Does… this mean they all can move."one of Ryuji's Shinobi said frightened as they all looked at the giant statue as it's eyes shined golden.

Naruto instincts told him to immediately duck to ground as the statue fired a beam at the group.It stopped it's beam after a few moments.

"Ahhhhhhhhh!!!"Suzume screamed out in horror seeing the remains of her comrades.

"Damn…that…thing killed Takeru and Issei."Ryuji said scared out his wits as he saw the burned arm of Takeru.He, Suzume and three of their group lay on the ground.

"I can't die here.I just got accepted into the Anbu.I am one of the fastest Shinobi in Konoha.I can get out of here."the Shinobi named Jin said as he sent Chakra to his feet.

"Wait, don't…"Ryuji yelled out but was too late as the Shinobi could only get a few metres before the giant statue fired its beam and he was incinerated leaving only his feet.

"Nooooo!!"Suzume yelled out in horror as the other Shinobi bowed down their heads.

"Why isn't it attacking us?"a member of Ryuji's group named Giyu asked as his body is shaking in untold fright as he looked at the giant statue.

"I don't know."Ryuji answered him.

'Yes, why isn't it attacking us.Is it because we aren't standing, wait…'Naruto thought as he thinks back to the Commandment.'First, worship the Lord.If that thing is supposed to be a god then to worship it I have to.'

Naruto got on his knees and bowed down to the statue.The Shinobi who chased Naruto saw what he did and came to conclusion that they must also bow down to survive.The giant statue just stared at them until it made a giant creepy smile.

'Damn that's creepy, dattebayo/that expression/it's gonna kill us all/will we survive/why did I come with them, I wouldn't be bowing here to some god statue.'were the thoughts of all the people present.They bowed for a few minutes and nothing happened.

'Is it fine to stand up now.It only attacks when we go up to a certain height, right.'Naruto thought in trepidation as he stood up slowly until he reached full height.

"The statue isn't attacking him."Ryuji said as he and his group all stood up slowly.As they stood up tall Ryuji went up to Naruto and asked."Hey, boy how did you know we must bow down."

Naruto looked at the shinobi wary.'Can I trust them.No I have to if we hope to survive.'He eventually answered."That's because of what the commendment said.It said first, worship the Lord and to worship a god people bow to them."

"So is it finally over?"Suzume asked only for the giant statue to stand up from its seat.

"Damn, what now."one of the shinobi named Yumichika said as the statue started walking towards them.All of Shinobi and Naruto started to run away from the giant statue.

"This is safe right?"Yumichika asked only for Ryuji to scream out."Yumichika watch out!"

Yumichika had ran near a statue and was cut in half for his mistake.

"Yumichika…damn."Ryuji yelled out as he then looked at Naruto."Boy, what must we do next!"

Naruto looked at the man and thought of the second rule."The second one is to praise the Lord!"he yelled out.

"How do you praise something like that!!"Suzume yelled out as thing was more demonic than the Kyuubi.

"If it's a god then we must pray to it.My family is followers of Lord Hachiman and I was taught from a young age how to pray to a god."One of Ryuji's group named Kuon said.

Kuon stepped forward and started praying to statue as the statue neared him.

"My lord from your strength we strive to do our best each day.Please bless us with your heavenly strength…"He prayed before."Watch out, Kuon!!"his best friend Riku screamed out only for the statue to squash him under its gigantic feet.

'He was an idiot.This statue isn't like all the benevolent gods we believe in,'Naruto thought while running but keeping a distance from the statues along the wall.'So how do go about praising this thing.Let's see a statue holding a hammer, shield, bow, instruments.Wait, instruments.Do the ones with instruments attack.Well I have to test my luck then dattebayo.'

"Run to the statue's holding instruments."Naruto yelled out as he ran to statue that is playing a violin.

"This better work, boy,"Ryuji said as he and the others ran to statues holding instruments.When all them reached the statues with instruments they all started playing music."What do you know the boy was right."

The giant statue stopped attacking and went back to its seat.Once it sat down it raised its hand making a altar appear from the ground.

"What…must we do know?"Suzume asked as her body shook from this nightmare.

"The third rule is to Prove, thy faith."Naruto said as hands trembled from the terror of the god statue.

"If we must prove our faith then…"Ryuji said as took out his katana and held it at Naruto's neck."Go.To prove our faith must mean we must sacrifice someone.Walk to the altar, demon."he threatened Naruto.

'Damn, so this is the thanks I get for helping them.They will never change.'Naruto thought bitterly as he walked to the altar.When he reached the altar a small flame lit up in the inner ring of the circle that is surrounding the altar with marks running through circle from the altar.

"Is the ritual starting?"Giyu asked in frightened voice.

"I think we all must be at the altar to start the ritual."Naruto said as he looked at them indifferently as nothing happened after a few minutes.

"Damn it.Let's go."Ryuji said as he and the remaining survivors slowly walked to the altar.When they reached the altar three more flames appeared and sparks lit up from the altar and ran down the marks in the circle and lit up blue flames from the along the circle surrounding the altar.Suddenly the giant doors went wide open.

"It opened.Does it mean we can leave?"Suzume asked hopefully.Only to see the statues lit up with white lines going through their bodies and they all started to move towards the group.

"What the hell!!!They all are approaching us now."Ryuji said as his katana shook in his hands.

Naruto's eyes went to different statues and saw they stopped moving when he lays his eyes on them.

"Everyone keep your eyes on the statues.They will stop moving if you look at them!"Naruto screamed out.

Suzume started hyperventilating when looking at a statue.She closed her eyes remembering the horror caused by the statues."I…can't do it!"She screamed out and ran to the doors.One of the flames disappeared as she ran from the altar.She managed to run safely out but the doors closed partially.The statue started walking towards them again.

'How did she managed to get out safely and why did the doors opened.The doors closed a bit when she went out so this must be another test.Wait...'Naruto thought as he looked at the blue flames and then the doors.

"She got out..."Ryuji said in relief."So the doors will close partially if someone leaves that means we can escape alive."

"No don't!!If more of us leave there won't be enough eyes on the statues.The blue flames must act as timers since they disappear at regular intervals!"Naruto screamed out."The last test must be to resist the temptation of freedom to prove our faith we can..."was all he could say before Ryuji attacked him with his katana and cut off both his legs.

"You think you can trick us.Be honored to save us, e Riku."Ryuji said as he and his friend ran out the room and the doors shut closed and the two flames extinguished.

'Damn it all to hell!!I always get left for death.Ever since I was born I was attacked by mobs and left for death.The Sandaime always says to forgive them that they just don't understand.What is there to understand!! I am just a kid.I believed I could trust them so we can get out of this situation.Hahaha, shows how truly naive I am.'Naruto thought as he laid against the altar while laughing bitterly as tears came out of his eyes as the statues walked slowly to him.

'It's survival of the fittest in this world.How could I have forgotten.Nobody cares about the weak.They get used by strong.'Naruto thought as the statue with the hammer lifted its weapon and attacked him.Naruto managed to avoid the strike by using his arms strength to pull himself away.

'I can't die like this.I will become strong and make each of them regret…'was all Naruto could think before the statue with the axe slash his right arm off.

"Ahhhhhh."Naruto screamed out in pain.The statues would continue attacking him until he ended up laying against the altar.

'Be honored, demon.What makes me a demon.Because I was born the night the Kyuubi attacked.Leave it to a genuine piece of trash to use me to survive then leave me die.I will kill them all.'Naruto thought angrily as tried to get up only for statue with the trident to stab him through his left shoulder and lifting his weapon up with Naruto on it.The statue shook its weapon and let Naruto fall on the altar.

'Damn it all to hell.'Naruto thought as he laid on the altar.'I am so close to graduation at the academy.If only I had another chance.I would...'Naruto thought as his life flashed before his eyes.What Naruto didn't see was the last blue fire extinguish just before the sword could strike him.

I haven't really seen fanfiction where Naruto only has the system from Solo Leveling alone and not mixed with the Gamer system.

This is me trying to only use Solo Leveling elements.

You can make suggestions, I will consider them.
