Chapter 3: I Was Stood Up To:
My name is Ane. My parents are Tachibana and Akane. I was in trouble at school.
"What's this all about," asks Mom.
"Well… your daughter has a tendency to bully some of the other students," says the Principal.
"Are you calling our daughter a bully," asks Dad.
"Just talk to her, please," asks the Principal.
...
We then stepped out. "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree," says Aunt Karin. She's married to my mom's brother.
My parents were the biggest bullies in high school. My mom always picked on Aunt Karin's friend, Yuri and my Dad would threaten anyone that got on his bad side. They did stop tormenting others, but they refuse to believe what I've been doing. My dad works as a gym teacher at my school and my mom works at the same company Uncle Akamatsu works at. Actually, my Mom works for Yuri's husband. That has to have some problems.
"Calling our daughter a bully," says Dad.
"I know, what do they know," asks Mom.
...
The next day, I was tormenting some of the other students when… "Hey!" It was Elise. She's from America. She has long, flowing platinum blonde hair and shimmering platinum eyes. She is wearing sleek urban fashion – a cropped jacket with a small rainbow pin and high-waisted jeans. "I'm tired of how you treat others!"
"Yeah, so what'cha gonna do about it," I asked.
"You may think you're better than the rest, but you're just a spoiled brat whose parents are in denial about," says Elise, "I don't know what your problem is, but I think it's time we do something about you!"
I then couldn't talk. Elise then walked away. What's this feeling?
...
I couldn't get Elise out of my head. That's when I realized I liked her!
...
It was the next day. No one was afraid of me anymore. I think it's because Elise stood up to me. I then walked over to her. "What," asks Elise, "are you going to beat me…" I then kissed her on the lips, but Elise pushed me off and ran off. That might have been the wrong approach…
...
My dad was giving Elise a hard time for pushing me. "And another thing…"
"Stop," I said, "she was just defending herself! Dad, I really have been awful to the others, and I think it's time you and Mom stopped letting me get away with it!"
"Well… yeah, maybe you're right," says Dad, "sorry, Elise." He then left.
"I'm sorry about… you know," I said, "I… I think I like you and… I didn't know what to do about it!"
"I'm sorry I pushed you," says Elise, "it's just you've been cruel, and I didn't want anything to do with that, but you just saved me. So, maybe we can start over and who knows? Something might happen. You are kind of cute."
I don't know if we're going to be together, but at least we're starting off as friends.
The End
