Tarryn's POV
"Ms. Tarryn, you really are a lifesaver," Grell told me as we made our way to the dining room.
I managed to stop the tea cart disaster that was meant to start off the episode.
"You can call me Tarryn, no need for formality Grell"
Now I won't lie; I did say that in a flirtatious manner. Grell blushed, and I opened the door to the dining room, and he pushed the cart inside. Ciel, Sebastian, and I needed to run errands after breakfast so I was dressed in the sapphire blue dress. I decided it was one of my favorites, Lizzy had good taste.
And speaking of Lizzy she was expected later with her fiance.
Sebastian looked annoyed for some reason when I entered the dining room, and I wondered what pissed him off this time. Then I figured it out.
What the hell? Is he jealous of Grell?
Maybe my dragon replied. You still deny any attraction to the demon
I rolled my eyes at that, and sometime later, I was in the carriage with Ciel while Sebastian drove. I finally was at Threshing and Ciel smirked when I finally told him about the dragon who chose Violet.
"I bloody knew it" Ciel stated. "What's his name again?"
"Tairneanach or Tairn for short," I explained, and I continued telling the rest of Threshing. Ciel's eyes went wide when I told him that Andarna bonded too.
"Two dragons? I thought only one bonded with their human riders"
"Now your eager to hear more aren't you?" I teased.
"After that revelation yes, but we're at our first stop"
Sebastian opened the carriage door, and as per usual, Ciel got out first, with me following. Sebastian wore an amused smirk as he held his hand out and I glared at him while I let him help me out of the carriage.
The first stop was to retrieve the new cane Ciel had ordered, and afterward, the next errand was a weapon shop. Now I was curious why we were here. The transaction was simple and I was confused when Sebastian placed the box into my grasp.
"A gift from the young master" he explained.
I shot Ciel a look and he looked amused. A few more errands later we were on our way back to the manor.
"Open it up, Tarryn," Ciel suggested.
I did as he asked and opened the box to reveal a beautiful black crossbow that resembled the one used in Van Helsing. On some parts of the crossbow were bronze stones I recognized as topaz. The crossbow also came with its own ammunition.
"Since your are my second in command having that will aid you when necessary, the black and topaz represent your dragon form"
"Thank you" was all I could muster.
"By the way is there anything going on between you and Sebastian? Don't think I didn't notice his annoyance at breakfast"
Here we go I thought.
I respected Ciel too much to lie to him.
"To be honest, I don't know," I answered honestly. "You do know the moment since my arrival we've both butted heads"
"I think he's doing that to get a rise out of you, and sometimes it works"
Great now the Earl was smirking again. A blush came across my face much to my displeasure.
"Dragons are monogamous are they not? Perhaps Sebastian could be your mate"
"Highly doubtful my lord"
My face was even redder now. Ciel chuckled just as we pulled up to the manor. I regained my composure so Sebastian wouldn't see my flustered face. I held the box containing my crossbow tight, and when Sebastian tried to take the box, I growled at him. The three of us entered the manor after the demon put the carriage away and Ciel suddenly had a WTF look on his face.
I held back a laugh just as Sebastian had the same look on his face because the entire parlor was decorated with girly stuff.
Looks like Lizzy is here, I thought, just as Mey-Rin, Finny, and Bard all ambushed Sebastian in hysterics.
"What is going on here? And why on earth are you all dressed like lunatics?" Sebastian demanded.
"My apologies Lord Phantomhive"
A teenage boy who looked to be thirteen gave Ciel an apologetic look. It was obvious he was a noble and my bet this was Lizzy's fiance. His attire was simple, and his brown hair was long enough that it was tied back in a ponytail. His eyes were the color of amethysts and it was no wonder Lizzy broke off her engagement to Ciel.
"You must be Tristan Grantham" Ciel replied.
Tristan nodded before giving Ciel an apologetic glance.
"Lizzy was in the mood for some decorating and I'll make sure to have all of this taken down as soon as possible"
Lizzy then chose that moment to appear and she hugged Ciel in excitement. Sebastian excused himself for a moment and returned with a dizzy-looking Grell. Lizzy pouted before giving me a friendly hug.
"I see you met Tristan already" Lizzy said before going to her fiancé's side and clutched his arm. "Besides being the heir to his estate, he's interested in studying medicine for animals"
"That's pretty impressive" I complimented Tristan. "You must like animals a lot, my lord"
"Yes my lady I do love animals, and I hate seeing them suffer"
I like this one my dragon chimed. Lizzy chose well and it's obvious he loved her.
Lizzy approached Sebastian and I immediately put my hand to my mouth just as she put the pink bonnet on top of his head. I began to laugh behind my hand while Mey-Rin, Bard, and Finny were snickering. Tristan sweat dropped while Ciel wore an amused grin.
Sebastian first flashed a glare at the comedy relief trio before doing the same with me. In return, I shot him the bird, which made Tristan blush.
"Tristan and I won't be here too long, I've come to actually ask Tarryn for something and to practice some dancing with Tristan if that's okay"
"It's fine, Lizzy," Ciel reassured his cousin before approaching Tristan. The two of them shook hands and Ciel welcomed Tristan into the family.
Afterward, Lizzy and I were in my room going over what she wanted from me.
"So you want for me to make you an engagement ring?"
It had been some time since I put my jeweler skills to use. Lizzy blushed and nodded.
"Yes, I told Tristan you were a jeweler and after going over what I wanted, these sketches were made"
The ring design was cute. Lizzy wanted a gold band with a single blue sapphire in the center surrounded by pink diamonds. She explained that Tristan would fund the cost of making the ring.
"This will take some time, but I'm happy to do this for you; Tristan is a good-looking lad." I then winked at her.
"When I first saw him at a ball he swept me off my feet, or well I fell for him right away"
She then changed the topic.
"That dress really looks good on you" she complimented. "I always thought redheads looked good in blue; by the way, Tarryn, do you have feelings for anyone in particular?"
"No, but Madame Red asked me if I was interested in marrying Grell"
That made her laugh.
"Well if I can be honest Tarryn, Sebastian I think would be the perfect match for you"
At the mention of that, I went red.
"Aww! I was right you do have feelings for him!"
In Ciel's Study
"It's not funny, Ciel," I scolded the young Earl. I had just finished telling him what Lizzy said about Sebastian.
"It is actually" Ciel replied with a grin.
Thank god Sebastian wasn't in the room or else I would be mortified having this conversation with Ciel to begin with.
"Did your brother ever tease you like this?"
At the mention of Theo that mellowed me a little. And a little smile came to my lips.
"Yes he would, when I first started reading Fourth Wing he wouldn't shut up about my crush on Liam, he's a character I'll mention later"
"Then you understand I am doing the same thing Theo would do, my teasing means no harm Tarryn"
I then changed the topic.
"We do have another thing in common"
Ciel arched an eyebrow.
"We both like sweet things"
That made him chuckle in response.
Hope you guys like Tristan. No worries he's not going anywhere.
