New Orleans, Mystic Falls
Kol laughed as he looked at the nameless witch who's skin was a little too light and her eyes a little too green. He tried his best to find some sort of resemblance of the witch to the little witch he had left behind but he found none and my wasn't that frustrating. His hands clenched on the glass and he glowered at himself. He had never found a problem with finding bed partners, his charm and looks were quite enough to conquer even the hardest woman and yet after a few months of bonding with the bronze skinned witch, he couldn't even touch any other woman without being disgusted at himself.
And Kol had tried. He had tried a witch, a vampire, a wolf, a siphoner or siphon or whatever it was called, what matters was Kol Mikealson had tried and yet he just couldn't touch, much less kiss any other woman without feeling a disgusting stomach wrenching and nauseating feeling to just hurl.
Was this the consequences of a bond? Yes it seemed so, and could the bond ever broken? No, unfortunately it could not. And Kol would have thought it couldn't get worse than that, it did, his bonded was currently being touched by someone as of now.
The possessiveness he felt was undeniable and Kol was trying and failing quite stupidly to ignore it. But still, why was she able to kiss someone and he wasn't? Make no mistake, Kol cared none for Bonnie Bennett, she was simply too challenging, too good and she simply could match his vigour in bed, how could he not be interested in her?
And yet here he was, stewing because of an already broken promise and a girl that belonged to him being touched by someone else? How should he be okay with this? She didn't belong to him but still, why could she be okay and why couldn't he touch a woman without feeling completely disgusted? What law was this and how was this fair to him? Shouldn't they at least suffer together?
Feeling annoyed, Kol stood up from his sit and glared at nothing then he slowly and discretely started to leave New Orleans making sure that stupid Marcel wouldn't spot him, he disliked that annoying twat more than anyone, more than Elena Gilbert which was saying quite a lot. Kol went in the direction of Mystic Falls and refused to make his presence known and went straight to the Bennett house where his witch was still being-
Oh-
She had stopped. Had she sensed him? Kol didn't guess, he knocked on her window quite gently, not because he cared but because he was diminishing his presence as much as possible. This was because as much as he had broken half of his promise about involving himself in any Mystic Falls rubbish, the other half still remained and still applied to his family. Moreover, since Knowing Marcel was alive, the old bitter feelings he felt towards his family resurfaced and he wasn't willing to act on them...not anymore that is.
He sighed and the windows were opened. Bonnie's red faced appeared and prompted more internal rage than Kol had ever thought it would. Moreover, she was dressed in a provocative dress that made it clear that she had planned for whatever she had been doing. And for a single moment, Kol was tempted to check, to wonder who was it that had been close his bonded, but he didn't.
He looked at her and she looked back at him and Kol could that she'd been expecting some sort of reaction from him. Even so, Kol didn't rage, no matter how furious he was on the inside, he only gave her one command in a deceptively calm voice.
"Let me in"
She opened her mouth to protest but then the fire died down as fast as it came and Kol knew that this wasn't what she was expecting. She had been expecting him to be angry, to be possessive because it seemed she knew about the bond already and she had done her research too.
"Come in" and Kol got in and sat on her bed as he looked at the alluring picture of Bonnie Bennett, he had desperately wanted her before he got here and he still did. He was desperately livid that she had let someone touch her to get him to come but he stayed calm. Uncharacteristic. Odd. And by the way Bonnie stared at him, she thought the same thing too.
However, Kol wouldn't address it, no matter how much the beast in him wanted to, Kol did what he did best, hide, he hid well because he knew by looking at Bonnie Bennett who was smart but had yet to learn to hide herself from the bond. Furthermore, she was still too young and she needed to make a few mistakes along the way. And quite frankly he knew that more than anyone, which meant he knew that whatever he said would be utterly meaningless.
He didn't care for her, he only looked at her as more of his property because of the bond, so anything said out of uncontrolled rage would cause unnecessary drama. And he was done with that, as much as he had broken the promise when he slept with her, Kol still decided to try and keep the promise once again to himself that he would have no involvement, of course with the exception of Bonnie.
She sat beside him and he could hear her uncertainty, fear, pain but Kol only hummed. He was a certified "playboy" and he had no qualms about it but Bonnie was his bonded. She was naive and young and as much as he didn't have a heart for her, he was willing to put some level of respect on her especially because she was a Bennett Witch and Kol had wanted to be a witch once upon a time, when things would have been different.
Moreover, Bonnie was always going through her own tribulations, both family and friends and once again, Kol could respect how she held her head, because until months ago, he hadn't been able to hold his head for centuries.
Respect, that was all he could give her, and even without it all, she was still his bonded and Kol unfortunately cared about that, so she was going to receive his respect either way which meant he would be honest with her.
He looked up at her and mused, wondering what fantastical image she had? Did she expect him to kiss her senseless or be angry, or be a pompous asshole? She was at that age even though she dealt with somethings quite maturely than he ever could. But whatever illusions she had must be broken, out of both respect for her as his bonded and out of his promise to himself.
"I don't know what you thought I would do, darling" Kol stated simply, "but it is not what you thought, I will not sweep you off your feet, nor am I willing to try and give this a chance, not because you aren't worthy but because you know entanglements between us are futile and I do not know how to love anyone moreso one who does not love herself"
Bonnie's eyes were wide but Kol continued, knowing full that this had not been what she expected and with how both her friends love life went, Kol wasn't surprised. He turned to her and gave a simple, emotionless smile, "I'm going to make one thing clear, I am your bonded, which is something I respect and I will take responsibility in terms of protecting and keeping you safe, however I am not your lover. However, I also can't touch anyone else, so in exchange for your beloved Elena, your family and your friends, you'll be my bed partner once in a while and I'll be yours"
Bonnie's eyes widened at Kol's implication and he smiled, "make no assumptions, I won't force you and I will rarely be here, I have travelling to do. Furthermore, you'll come to my bed quite easily and since we are attracted to each other it's easily beneficial to both of us. Furthermore, you can also sleep with whoever you please, you're free too. You can even fall in love, I don't quite care, you're free to do whatever you wish darling, however, when I need you, I'll need you and I expect you to be there. I won't interfere with your daily life and I expect this arrangement to be kept between us"
"Do we have a deal young Miss Bennett?" He asked quite smoothly knowing full well he had shattered every notion she'd ever had about him.
He looked at the girl who had barely got a word in and Kol found himself quite pleased, and even though he hadn't been willing to give her such a choice, Kol had, because she was his bonded and he respected that but he wanted her and he wanted her without complications and bounds. She was free to do all she wanted but he would always have rights to her body.
Bonnie's heart squeezed endlessly as she looked at him and Kol knew that for a brief moment, the girl had wished for something that her friends had but unfortunately for her, Kol just could never provide and he would never lie and say he could. He was heartless for things he had no regard to and he only had regard to her body and her vigour.
Besides, she was not fooled by his charm and she'd only be using him to try and forgot or try and deflect and he wasn't interested on such a muddy path when they could start so cleanly.
Her hand clasped on his and Kol kissed it gently as Bonnie gave a smile. It was a pained smile but it was also a little ... grateful and Kol didn't know how to feel about, no one had ever been appreciative to him.
"Deal"
