Maldives

Kol frowned, as he looked at his three siblings and Bonnie's friend. He emphasized to himself as to not kill the annoying vampire whom his brother loved so Klaus could feel the pain of what it meant to lose someone, and to never get them back. His hand which was holding his little witch tightened and the joy and happiness he felt over the months with his darling was completely utterly ruined by their appearance. However, that claim was wrong as Bonnie squeezed his hand back and Kol immediately softened as he looked at the deep sadness that was in Bonnie's eyes. It wasn't much as before, but it was there, painful but tame and it resonated with his own.

They were both disappointed in those they had put faith in and in those they had loved and that fact was forever unchangeable. Until both he and Bonnie found themselves, they could only move forward and then maybe in the near future they could make a healed decision about how to go about the next and final lesson. Confront the monster that had been forever been chasing them. But until then, they were still on the second step.

Kol opened the door, "come in" he said reluctantly as he held the door out to them and lead them to the dining area. The cook brightened at more guests and Kol rolled his eyes, "you can cook anything except sea food, it'll be on my tab" he said and the cook nodded vigorously went to the kitchen to get started.

Kol opened the chair for Bonnie and sat beside her whilst his hand still held her own. The atmosphere was tense, Elijah and Rebekah seemed curious, whilst Klaus and Caroline were both stunned, he didn't know why, they were still sleeping with each other, even though Caroline was apparently in love with the whatever his name was hybrid. Whom was also Bonnie's friend.

"The place is nice" Caroline muttered softly as she stared at Bonnie who looked calmly at her. There was no judgement nor anger in Caroline's tone nor eyes-as if she had any right to- but there was remorse, and all of a sudden, Caroline looked much more better in Kol's eyes.

"Yeah, but the chandelier could use a lot of work" Rebekah muttered dryly and the cook who had been eavesdropping paled, whilst Bonnie's lips quirked at its edges. Kol kissed her knuckles and his little witch smiled. As she always did and Kol couldn't help but note again how beautiful she was...if only they hadn't been disturbed, the things he would have done to her. Bonnie immediately looked away and cleared her throat, whilst Kol laughed at her reaction, and turned his attention back to his siblings who were quite stunned.

The smile on his face cooled, "so what brings you here to the Maldives, sightseeing? The sun, the beach..."

"..the sharks" Bonnie finished off and Kol laughed whilst Bonnie rolled her eyes and Kol couldn't help but kiss her knuckles again.

"And the sharks" Kol repeated with an amused smile as he looked at Klaus who's eyes were watching over him, quietly, it was unlike Nik but Kol didn't quite care. "Yes! sight seeing would be nice, right Rebekah?" Caroline stated and Rebekah noddded and Kol looked over again, and sighed helplessly, it seemed he couldn't kill Caroline, otherwise his darling would lose one of the few friends who were actually worth her time. It was so unfortunate, but considering how Caroline seemed to be concerned about Bonnie and was willing to be uncomfortable for her, Kol would let her go. For Bonnie.

"Your welcome to, but that is under the conditions you stay in another resort, this one is strictly for me and my wife" Kol said smoothly and he enjoyed the stunned expressions on all their faces, whilst Bonnie nudged him and rolled her eyes. "He's kidding, we're not married" his little witch said but she didn't deny that they needed to find a new resort.

Kol couldn't help but kiss her again as his eyes met hers and Kol realized belatedly that he had made a horrible mistake, because now he was utterly enamoured by Miss Bonnie Bennett and tonight he would make her body understand.

..

From that day, the days continued blissfully even with the knowledge that his siblings and Caroline were at the resort next door.

But, Kol wasn't perturbed nor did he think about them as much as he thought he would. But instead, his mind was full of Bonnie. Bonnie. Bonnie. Who had passed out, whilst begging and crying, unaware of why Kol had gained so much strength, not knowing that it was partially because Kol had realized that the little minx had been aware of the change in them, whilst he had remained blind. It didn't help that he had told her he didn't care about who she touched or who she loved? What sheer stupidity, he must have been hexed! Because what had he been saying?

His idiocy was beyond belief and Kol couldn't help but find it quite embarrassing how he'd done nothing but be obvious, to probably anyone but himself. And realizing that, Kol had thoroughly loved his little witch until she could barely breath to try and make up for it. And he had, considering how she was still snoring and had no clear signs of waking up.

Kol was undeniable proud, however, as he sat down he couldn't help but think of all the things that had happened as well. He had told Bonnie he didn't know how to love and that had been true, he knew nothing of love nor how a real relationship was supposed to be. He had also told the little witch that he wouldn't try because of their complications which meant the mystic Falls gang and that was also true. Moreover, he had told her he wouldn't even try because she didn't quite love herself, and that had also been true.

He was enamoured with Bonnie Bennett. Her smile, her eyes, her face, her everything. He was utterly enchanted by her and he would love to spend the rest of his immortal life with her, without question, if he was being honest with himself. Moreover, he may not know how to love but he would try and luckily for him, she was understanding and wouldn't judge him and would help him and teach her to love him. They could learn together and Kol was quite fine with that. Furthermore, he knew about courtship, so he wasn't entirely hopeless.

Plus, there was always...a way to ask Elijah and Rebekah. Which brought him to his third point, he didn't know love but he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her, but he couldn't learn nor treat her as she deserved and try with her, when they were both still unhealed. He couldn't do that to her, to them. They both deserved to love each other without.. complications and bounds that would hold them back. And Bonnie had yet to heal from her parents, her friends, and so much more, and neither had he. He had yet to heal fully from his family.

He had thought cutting them off would do the trick and he was right, it had, he had made a promise to not involve himself anymore and that was fine and cutting them off at the first stage had been mandatory and quite clearly... beneficial to him and his mental state.

But, unfortunately he had yet to come to the third stage, his second stage was already determined, Kol wanted to travel, he wanted to explore the vast ever changing world without boundaries. And he would do just that. But to do that, to live on, he needed to confront his family, because as much as he was angry, mad, betrayed and even though Bonnie's presence had helped, he still needed to confront the monster himself.

Otherwise he couldn't love Bonnie truly, much less her love him. He was willing to wait for her, and as much as he acknowledged his feelings and her own, he knew this was not the right time and Kol didn't want to ruin it more than anything, he wanted Bonnie to be his always and forever. And he guessed, Bonnie had stayed quiet for the same reason and he couldn't help but feel a level of bitterness which was also sweet, he didn't want to separate with his darling, but it seemed he had to, so he could have her back for eternity.

He sighed and opened the door to find his little witch still sleeping and he smiled as he caressed her face and imprinted her face into his mind and then Kol Mikealson laughed.

Only her body.

As if. He'd been doomed from the very beginning.

Author's Note

Wattpad has been very glitchy and most of my drafts were gone. Then they came back and then the chapters were gone. And hence because of this, I'm publishing unedited and unfinished chapters. I am truly truly sorry for this inconvenience. Please excuse my grammer and plot holes and just this entire mess. I can assure you though that next chapters will be at least proper and edited and longer. This goes for the other websites I'm posting on, I am truly sorry.
