(Violet's Pov)
I go over to Clem and I place my hand to her head gently and she wakes up slowly and then she coughs a bit and I place my hand to her side as she has a coughing fit. Ruby then comes over and she gives Clem something and she takes it. I felt so tired and I rubbed the bridge of my nose a bit. I looked over to Ruby as she looked to Clementine a bit and then she looked to me. I then get up and walk out the room as does Ruby and I look over to her.
"Louis filled me in." She tells me and I nod at this.
"Yeah, I assumed he did."
"You think we can take them?" She asked and I think.
"Right now? I don't know, right now I'm just worried about Clementine." I tell her.
"Right… I get it, so Louis said he knocked a woman out?" She asked and I nod.
"Yeah she was with that group, I think they were Whisperers, they were walking with walkers and talking quietly so they have to be the Whisperers we were told about." I tell her and she nods.
"Clementine is still sick so we have to make sure that we just keep her healthy." She says and I nod.
"How are you doing?" I asked her.
"Fine, just wanting to make sure everyone is ok." She says and I nod at this.
"Stressful hu?" I asked and she sighs a bit.
"Yeah, but it's a good thing I know some things." She tells me and I nod a bit. I rubbed the back of my head as I looked to the music door. We go in and Louis is at the piano and I look over to the others for a bit.
"Alright so we can set some traps here and here." Marlon says and I go over to him.
"We have a plan in case that group comes by, I don't think they will come but it would be best to stay on guard." He explained and I nod and looked to the others. They all agreed and I look over to the doors and I feel a hand on my shoulder. I look to see Ruby and she nods to me.
"You know you can stay with her." She tells me quietly.
"I know… I will I just want to help." I then looked over to the others and I rubbed the back of my neck and I look over to the others.
"How about this, you can go back when Omar finishes the soup for Clem, you can help out till then." She suggests and I nod at this. I helped anyway I could and it was time for lunch when I grabbed a bowl for Clem and head to the room. Ruby comes with me of course and We go in the room. I head over to Clem and she was still sleeping so I set the bowl to the side and Ruby checks her head. She has a bit of a fever from what Ruby said and I nod and look over to Clem.
"I'm going to set some cold water for her head." Ruby tells me and I nod at this as she leaves the room. I look over to Clem as she slept some more and I place my hand to her head and pulled back a bit. She rolled over in her sleep and I look out the window a bit. the door opens and I look to see AJ as he comes in and he takes a seat next to the bed and he looked to me.
"Ruby is getting her something cold for her head." I tell him and he nods and looks back to Clem.
"I've never seen her this sick." He tells me and I look back to her.
"Really?" I asked. I don't think you could go so long without getting this sick at least, or I mean in this type of environment at this point.
"Yeah, the worst she had was a cough, not a fever like this." He tells me and I looked to the window and look at the snow a bit. Ruby comes back in afer a while and she has a bucket with her. I grabbed it from her and set it to the side gently so it wouldn't spill. There was snow but in it to keep it cold and She hands me a rag as well. I dip it into the water and place the cold rag to Clementine's head a bit and she shifts a bit in her sleep. Ruby checks on her again and then heads out to the music room and I look back to AJ.
"You get anything to eat?" I asked him.
"No not yet." He says.
"It's fine, you can go get something, don't want you getting sick too." I tell him and he thinks a bit then gets up.
"I'll come back with food for the both of us." He says and I nod. As he leaves, I look to Clem as she coughed a bit in her sleep. I look over to the door and then to my feet. I honestly didn't know what to think. I messed up, I didn't make sure the cabin was good with winter, it's my fault she's sick.
"Hmm you're thinking too much." I hear and I look up to see Clem looking at me and I smile a bit.
"Sorry, I'll tone down the telepathy." I joked and she smiled a bit then she had a coughing fit. I gently take the rag off her head and I wet it again and placed it back to her head. She takes the rag and then places it on her neck and I tilt my head a bit.
"Neck is too hot." She mutters and I nod. I just stay in here with her and she goes in and out of sleep. Ruby would come in and check up on her as well and I would watch as she grabbed the bucket. I go over to Clem slowly and move some hair out of her face. When I did, she moved a bit in her sleep and I get up quietly telling her I would be back in a bit. I exit out the room and I see AJ as he was coming down the hall.
"You heading out?" He asked.
"Uh just out the room for a bit see if I can help Ruby or something." I mutter quietly. I rubbed the back of my neck and he just heads in the room and I go out and see Ruby as she comes over with a new bucket of water. She goes and takes it to the room and then she comes out and I look to the door then back to her.
"How are you feeling?" She asked and I just shrugged a bit. I mean I didn't have much to say in all honesty.
"Well, how about you come to the music room, Marlon has another plan to tell us, and I know you'll tell AJ. She says and I nod a bit as we head to the music room. I looked around a bit and then look over to where Marlon was as he was talking about an escape plan.
"We don't need to leave." Louis argued.
"It's just in a worst-case scenario Louis and you know this." Marlon tells him and I watch as they argue.
"You know what, Louis you have been nothing but a pain in our sides, just shut up." Aasim says as he rubbed his temples a bit.
"I'm a pain? I didn't do shit to any of you guys." He tells them.
"That's exactly the problem, you haven't done shit, all you have done was complain, and complain, and whine and groan, you don't give a damn unless it's for your own benefits, and I'm tired of it." Marlon tells him.
"We were fri-."
"You know Clementine was basically right, you only care for yourself, you never gave a damn about others." He tells him and I look to the two as they just glare at each other. I clear my throat a bit making Marlon look over to Ruby and I.
"How's Clementine doing?" He asked.
"She's still the same poor girl." Ruby says and I nod a bit.
"And because of Violet being stupid." Louis mutters and I wanted to say something to him but I stopped and shook my head at this point.
"You know what-."
"Stop, right now." Ruby says and I just look to the ground a bit.
"Well it's tru-."
"She could have gotten sick at any point in time, are you still jealous that Clementine wanted Violet over you? Because at this point, I can see why no one would want to be with you, grow up." Ruby tells him. He shut his mouth and then shook his head and I look back to the doors a bit.
"Ok, now that that's over with… Marlon, plans?" Ruby asked.
"Right, um so this is what we have so far." He explains and I go look over to the maps and I scratch the back of my head as I tried to think. If the Whisperers were here then who else was here? Clementine had talked about that one group the New Frontier, and I don't think the entire Delta was gone either, there had to be more people somewhere.
"You good there Violet?" I hear and I look up to see Marlon, Ruby Mitch and Aasim looking at me. I nod a bit and looked back to the map a bit and I nod.
"Seems good enough Clementine is better with these plans." I mutter a bit and look to them.
"Well right now she's sick but I understand, she's better when it comes to planning attacks." Marlon admits and I nod a bit.
"Well when she gets better and if they don't attack us, then we should be fine, but if she's still sick we have a way of getting her out." He states and I nod a bit at this.
"Yeah… ok, I do want to suggest that we get Mitch to make some bombs for anyone that tries to get to the gate, but then we'd have to deal with a bunch of Walkers with those Whisperers." I mutter and think a bit.
"Shit right, forgot that they walk with Walkers… Honestly wish that James guy was here to help with that." Aasim says and I nod.
"Well, he was worried more for the Walkers than people." I hear AJ say and we look to him.
"Clem was asking for Violet and Ruby." He tells us and I nod as we start walking to the room with him. When we get in I head over to her and she was still sweating and I grabbed the rag and placed it to her neck and she stops shivering a bit.
"How you feeling?" I asked.
"Like my head is going to explode." She mutters.
"Here try this." Ruby says as she hands her some medication and I think a bit. most of the good stuff has to have gone bad by now, I mean it's not as strong as it would have been but it's something.
"Thanks." Clem mutters and Ruby nods.
"You feel like eating?" Ruby asked.
"A little." Clem mutters and I nod as I go and get some soup for her since her bowl had gone cold. I come back and Ruby had helped her sit up a bit in the bed and I was wondering if I should hand her the bowl. She takes it from me gently and nods a bit.
"Thanks." She says quietly and I nod as she eats some of it.
"Good?" Ruby asked and Clem nods again.
"Hmm, tell Omar thanks." She rasps and I nod and looked to Ruby a bit as she looked to be thinking.
"Should get you a bucket." Ruby suggests and Clem nods. Ruby then leaves the room and I look to Clem as she takes another spoonful of the soup.
"You feel like throwing up?" I asked and she shrugs a bit.
"A little but… better safe-." She stopped and then covered her mouth a bit. I was about to get up but she waves me off before she moves her hand away and I look to her.
"Then sorry." She finished and I nod.
"We're making plans for any attacks that might happen… kinda wish you would give some advice." I tried to joke but it wasn't much of a joke if I was being honest.
"I can-."
"Not until you are better." I tell her and she looked to me.
"Someone came by the school?" She asked and I rubbed the back of my neck.
"Um no… I went to check the cabin and uh… well a bunch of those Whisperers came by, they were walking with a few Walkers and they were whispering, and this one girl had Walker skin… so you know… logical thinking." I chuckled a bit and she nods.
"So, they are coming closer." She mutters and I nod.
"Are you ok?" She asked.
"Oh yeah, they uh… well only the girl saw me but Louis knocked her out, so it might be a slight issue… uh I did hear someone say to them not to mess with us but, I don't know who." I tell her and she nods. She finished the soup and then Ruby comes in and I take the bowl from Clem and Ruby sets the bucket to the side. She checked on Clementine once more and then she took her leave. I explained to Clem on what we were planning on doing, basically like what we did with the raiders but that we would do was get some Walkers I we had to.
"How do you plan on doing that?" She asked and I think.
"Well, you know how we used scarecrows?" I asked her and she nods.
"Marlon suggested we keep Walkers around the walls you know… or how when we saw… that wall." I stopped as I thought back to the wall of dead bodies and I still felt a little sick at the thought of doing that.
"It sounds good but they are Whisperers." She says and then coughed a bit.
"You should get some sleep." I tell her and she shakes her head.
"No, I need to know what's going on… I'm ok. I swear." She says and I look to her a bit and she nods and I look to the ground a bit.
"They won't be deterred from Walkers like the raiders would have been if we kept a whole bunch alive." She explains and I nod as I think some more. I cross my arms a bit as I lean back in the chair and I sighed as I closed my eyes.
"The only thing I can think of is finding that James guy AJ talked about… he helped with the raiders he could help with these guys; he was part of their group." I mutter a bit.
"He might not help." She says and I open one eye and look to her. She looked to me and I raise a brow at her.
"He was more worried about keeping those Walkers safe than helping us save you guys… well I mean at first he was. Knowing him he might still think that way after all the things I said to him." She tells me and I uncrossed my arms and pat my knees a bit as I leaned the chair forward so it was on all fours again.
"There was a guy telling them not to mess with us, could have been him?" I questioned a bit.
"Doubt it, he said he had issues with the old group he was with, I think he likes being alone." She tells me and I think. I take a deep breath and I stand up. I couldn't stay seated anymore and I paced the room a bit as I tried to think of something. They wouldn't be scared of Walkers but it could keep the walking ones away from the school, or at least not attack us yet. If we could find that James guy, he could help us if we explained the situation, that is if he's not part of this group but from what Clementine said, he liked to be alone. The best thing we had going was our guns and shooting anything that looked like a Walker, but I don't know how that would work out. Some of them seemed innocent, I mean that one girl was innocent, she could have hurt me but she didn't. Though now she might after what Louis had done to her.
I kept thinking and I would try to say something but close my mouth when I thought it was stupid. I looked to the window a bit and saw it started to snow again and I scratched the back of my head and looked to Clementine as she looked to me. she smiles just a little and I smile back and I go over to the bed and take a seat. Look to her a bit and she pats my leg gently and I look to the floor a bit.
"Don't think to much on it, it's snowing so they might be more hold up somewhere than trying to get us." She tells me and I look to her.
"But this would be the best time to strike, the raiders took their time but they still got us." I tell her and she sighs a bit.
"Ok, yes, I can see that and you are right, they could, but honestly where would they take us? I doubt they have a base close by or some way of transporting us." She says and I nod a bit. They didn't seem like they had those cages like the raiders did, and I doubt they would take the one we took. They'd have to keep us alive since there isn't much of us anymore. I rubbed the back of my neck and groan a bit then place my hands to my face and lay back on the bed and look to the top bunk a bit as I moved my hands away.
"But there could be a way, people find a way." I tell her.
"Yeah, that is true… we cou-." She stopped as she coughed a bit and I look to her and she shook her head a bit and I get up a bit and rubbed her back gently. She stopped coughing and clears her throat a bit and I look to her.
"I'm going to get you some more water." I tell her and she nods and coughed again and I gently pat her back and she stopped again. I go and grabbed her some water and once back I hand it to her and she takes a drink. I look to her as she took a drink and she groaned a bit as she lays down after handing me the bottle and I set it on the table to the side. She looked to me a bit and I smile at her gently.
"Sorry I'm feeling a bit tired." She whispers and I nod.
"It's fine, get some rest." I tell her and I rubbed the back of her head gently and she closed her eye and finally fell asleep. I pulled the blanket up on her and she grabbed it to wrap herself in it more. I go over to the desk a bit and I tried to think of anything we could do but nothing came to mind. Like before I think the only way to stop them would be to shoot them but I just didn't want anyone innocent hurt either. I rubbed my face a bit and I felt tired, but I get up and head out the dorms and then I get to the music room and I stopped by the door. It opens up and I see AJ as he looked to me.
"Are you ok?" He asked and I nod.
"You going to check on Clementine?" I asked.
"No, I was going to get some maps from Marlon's old office." He tells me and I nod as I go with him.
"So… what do you think of the plan?" I asked. I mean he should have an opinion as well; this is his home too.
"I think it's ok, but the Walkers being around the school doesn't seem like a smart idea." He tells me and I nod.
"Mind explaining?" I asked as we get to the office and I see Rosie as she slept on the bed and I go and pet her a bit.
"Well, to many Walkers around can cause problems for us, along with the fact that it won't scare away the Whisperers, I just know they have Walkers and use them to their advantage." He tells me and I nod.
"Yeah, Clem basically said the same thing." I mutter a bit and I looked to the desk a bit. He grabbed the maps and I take a breath.
"But it's not that bad, yes we can make it seem like this place has Walkers and no living people, they might think we were killed off by them." He says and I think.
"But that might not stop them from trying to get in if they are looking for things to take." He lists off other pros and cons to this and I listen to him.
"So, what do you think we should do exactly?" I asked him and he thinks.
"Well, I say we can use the Walkers still, basically make it a cover, they try to come in we shoot them if they become violent, try to see if we could make a deal but I don't think they are willing to do what the Caravan does." He says and I snap my fingers.
"We can get them though… I mean I was saying it's too cold for the Whisperers to come get us now, but then the question is will the Caravan help, I mean they don't stay in one place long." I think out loud and look to him.
"Wouldn't hurt to ask, but if they know about the wars up north coming closer here, we might not be able to get them to join." He says and I nod and pace around a bit.
"Yeah, you are right." I mutter and I look to the side a bit.
"Right now, we just need to get Clem healthy that's what I need to worry about." I look to AJ a bit and he nods.
"Yeah, if she's not good for when they come then we will have a bit of a problem." He says and I nod a bit.
"You find all you need?" I asked and he nods.
"Yeah… It's not bad to think of all the possibilities we could have to defend the school, Clementine always says it's best to have many plans to bounce off of than to just have one plan… things can change." He tells me and I nod at this and I take a deep breath and sighed.
"Yeah, best to have a lot of plans than just one. We just have to keep the best plan we have for the most part." I mutter a bit.
"I'd say get the Walkers and use them as a bait for them to think we aren't here, if they come in Mitch and Willy can make bombs like we did with the raiders, if the Caravan comes by we can ask if they could join us, but it's best if we ask them if they have better supplies, we have escape routes made already, we just need to find another place to go till we can either come back or to just settle down in." He explained and I smirk and rubbed his head.
"How'd you get so smart?" I joked and he laughed.
"Well it's just something to bounce ideas off of." He says and I nod.
"It's a good plan in all honesty." I tell him and he nods and we go to the music room and AJ tells Marlon what he thought. Marlon seemed to like the idea and so did the others.
"The only thing is, we need a place to go to, I would say we could go in the town for a bit, take some supplies." Marlon states and I nod.
"I can go with Mitch and Aasim to check out any places we could stay, while also getting other supplies for the wall and school." I tell Marlon.
"It's too cold to go out right now… but we have to get this done." Marlon mutters as he thinks.
"Alright, you three and I can head out and check out any places that might seem suitable in case we do need to leave the school for a while." He says and I think a bit.
"When Louis Clem and I were running from Minerva there were some Ranger stations in the woods, I'm not saying we stay there but they would be some place to stay till we do find someplace." I tell him as I mark the area's off on the maps.
"Seems like a good plan, alright, get some rest and we can head out in the morning." Marlon says and I nod and head to Clementine. I go inside the room and Clem was still sleeping so I go over and I lay on the other bed. When morning came, I was tired, I could barely sleep and when I couldn't I would be checking in on Clementine to make sure she was ok. She woke up sometimes too but then would fall right back to sleep. I head to the music room and with Clem as she said she felt like she could walk, she wasn't coughing as bad but I make sure she stays near the fire so she could keep warm and Ruby checked on her. When I finished eating, Marlon, Aasim, Mitch and I got ready to head out. I explained to Clem what we were doing and even though she didn't agree with the idea she couldn't say much on it really.
I went and grabbed my backpack and the others grabbed theirs, we head on over to the doors and checked to see if we had everything. Before we were to head out, I see AJ come over to us and I raised a brow at him as he also had a backpack. He comes over to us and I look to Marlon as he made sure AJ had supplies he needed as well.
"Woah, he's not coming." I say and they all look to me.
"Why not? He's responsible enough, plus I trust him." Marlon states and I rubbed the back of my head.
"Plus, Clementine said I should come." AJ tells me and I look to him.
"She did?" I asked.
"Yeah, said something about keeping an eye out for you guys, I mean I know what I'm doing." The young boy says and I rubbed the back of my neck a bit.
"Alright, but stay close to us unless you need to." I tell him and he nods.
"Understood." He says and I nod and we all head on out. The freshly fallen snow was high up almost to my knees and I look down to AJ a bit and I was about to tell him it would be best if he stayed but the boy went on ahead and I sighed a bit as we headed to the gate. We had to go through the bars which wasn't hard but a bit of a pain but we head on out. Marlon said he would head to the town with Mitch while Aasim, AJ and I would head on out to the Ranger stations. We agreed to meet up at this location or if neither of us came back in time we would head to the school and not go looking for the others incase we were captured. Reluctantly we had to agree to this.
Aasim, AJ and I were heading to the first ranger station and it took a while since we have the snow to deal with but we got there. We head up to the top and I look around at the woods and I look to Aasim as he marked some stuff off in his booklet and I head inside and look around. The only thing we would need to do is block off the window since there was some snow inside the station. Aasim went and looked inside as well and AJ stood next to me and then looked around the room a bit. It was small, but we could all fit in here for a short time if I have to be honest.
"How many more stations are there?" AJ asked and I went and showed him the map.
"They have them in specific areas heck there is one of those cabins for people who hike, right here." I tell him as I point to the map and he looked to it a bit.
"Should we go there?" He asked and I nod.
"Would be great to check the place out just to make sure it's safe." He says and I think a bit.
"How many Whisperers where there?" AJ asked and I think.
"Four maybe more, not too sure on the numbers, sorry." I tell him and he seems to be thinking and Aasim looked to him.
"You think they might have stayed in the cabin?" Aasim asked him.
"Depends they could be there but, we can check it out." He says and I think a bit.
"Wouldn't hurt to try… maybe we could Ambush them." Aasim says and I look to him a bit.
"I don't think we should but we could plan out some…thing." I stopped as I looked to the window and so did the other two as they also saw the herd of Walkers.
"Jessus fucking Christ." Aasim says.
"I don't think our original plan is going to work." I say quietly as we head to the window and saw the Walkers as they were coming towards us.
"We have to go, now." I say and we hurry out the ranger station. It was easier for us to run since we were walking through the path we made.
"We need to get the others." AJ says and I think as we keep running.
"Aasim, you and AJ head to the school and explain what we saw, I'll head into the town and get Marlon and Mitch." Tell them.
"We will hide out in the music room till you guys get back…. what do we do if ya'll don't?" He asked.
"Just keep everyone safe best thing to do is to just have an escape plan for this heard." I tell him.
"Got it." He says as we kept running. AJ and Aasim head down the path of the school and I head to the path that Marlon and Mitch had taken. When I got to the boarder of the town I had to stop when I saw more Walkers and I look to the town as it was almost taken over. I saw the path lead into the town and I groan a bit and I look back to the path to the school and then back to the town. I decided to head into the town and follow the path into an old run-down building and I hurry inside and take a few breaths as I closed the door behind me and I look around a bit. There was a clatter and I look to see Marlon and Mitch as they looked to me and Mitch lowered his gun once he saw it was me.
"Shit, the fuck are you doing here?" Marlon asked.
"Look I know I shouldn't have but fuck there's Walkers over in the woods by the ranger station, and now I see the town is almost overrun." I tell him.
"Fuck… fucking hell." Marlon says and he looked to me.
"Where is Aasim and AJ?" Mitch asked.
"Back at the school telling the others about the Walkers in the woods… Marlon are you ok?" I asked as he held his arm a bit.
"Yeah, fucking Walker snuck up on us and I landed on it wrong." He says and I checked him over and he hissed a bit.
"Best if Ruby checked it out, doesn't feel broken, does it?" I asked.
"No just bruised I think… fuck if Mitch wasn't here, I think I would have been eaten." He tells me and I nod and look to Mitch a bit. He kept a watch on the door and I nod as I take my bag off and grabbed one of the flannels I had and wrapped it into a makeshift sling.
"Best to keep it from moving a lot just in case." I mutter.
"Thanks, didn't think about that." Marlon says as he put his arm in the sling and I nod as he looked around.
"So, seems like we have a problem." Mitch says and I look over to him a bit and see some Walkers by the door.
"Could kill one and use it the way AJ said, cover ourselves?" Marlon suggests and I think.
"If they are with the Whisperers, we might be in a lot more trouble if we tried." Mitch states and I tried to think.
"Look Aasim and AJ are telling the others to stay at the school so there is no way they're coming here or heading to the ranger stations anytime soon." I mutter as I think.
"That's fine as long as they can get out, the only problem is we might not find them if they do leave the school." Marlon says and I nod and I rubbed the back of my head and think.
"Best thing is to stay here… maybe." Marlon says and I sighed.
"Seems so." I say quietly and I go and take a seat as I tried to think of anything.
"Don't stress it just makes things worse." Marlon says and I nod but I still can't stop thinking. Clem was still sick and there were herds of Walkers on both end.
"Shit… fuck they might not be able to escape if we don't tell them about the heard this was." I mutter.
"Fuck… ok, I'm going to need help grabbing a few Walkers, I don't care, you and I have our guns if any of them are Whisperers we take them out." Mitch says and honestly, I had to agree with him on this.
"Alright… Marlon you have your knife?" I asked and he nods and hands it to me and I go over to the door with Mitch.
"I'll grab you stab." Mitch says and I nod as he opened the door and he was able to grab a Walker and I stabbed it in the head and opened it up so Marlon could cover himself up and I look back to the door just as Mitch grabbed another Walker and I stabbed it and opened it up. I let Mitch cover himself and when he finished, he helped me cover myself and we were all by the door. We exit out the door and made sure to stay as far away from any Walkers just to be on the safe side even if we were covered, we didn't know how long it would last in the cold like it does during the warmer times. Mitch stayed in front and I was in the back since Marlon couldn't do much at this moment.
When we finally get to the edge of the town, we turned to see so many Walkers and I actually felt a little ill at the thought of being caught up between two sets of herds and we were in the middle. Just because people wanted to start a damn war, for fuck sake it's not needed, none of it's needed. Minerva was ruined by all this, we were going to be forced into this, we want none of this, none of this at all. We tried so hard to stay away from this. And now we're going to be in the middle of this bullshit?
"Almost to the school." Mitch says and I nod as we get into the wooded areas near the school and we finally get to the gate. We let Marlon go through first and then Mitch and I went through. We hurry inside and head to the music room and I shake a bit. didn't realize how fucking cold I was at this point.
"Jesus fuck what happened?" Ruby asked as she saw us and I was shivering a bit just as Clementine came up and placed her hands to my face. her hand were warm and I couldn't help but lean my cheek more into her hand.
"Not our b-blood." Mitch stuttered and I look to him and Marlon as they shivered as well.
"Jesus, you can't use Walker blood in this weather." Clem says.
"H-Had no c-ch-choice." I stutter and Omar hands us something warm to drink. I just held the cup and I closed my eyes a bit as Clem moved her hands from my face and then I feel a warm cloth to my cheek and I look to her.
"Y-you good?" I asked and she nods.
"Not coughing as much, I feel a little better." She tells me and I nod.
"What happened?" Aasim asked.
"W-walkers in the t-town too." Mitch says as Willy helped clean his face since he too was just holding the warm broth.
"Shit… we're basically surrounded." Louis says and I take a seat and closed my eyes.
"You guys better not get sick from this." Cem mutters and I chuckled a bit and looked to her.
"We got s-surrounded." I tell her and she sighed as she cleaned my face a bit and I take a drink. Ruby helped clean Marlons face and then checked his arm asking what happened to make sure he didn't break it. good thing was, he didn't.
"You guys need to change your clothes; the blood is frozen on you guys and we don't want this place smelling of… that." Ruby says and I nod in agreement.
"Where is AJ?" I asked as I looked for him.
"Right here." He says as he comes over and I sighed in relief.
"What should we do?" Omar asked and we all just sat in silence. We were surrounded, we were cold, it's freezing all around us and had no place to go. We don't have enough ammunition to take out these herds and the Whisperers. We couldn't take them head on either even if they had one herd we wouldn't have been able to.
"Violet?" I hear Clem ask quietly and I look up to her as she looked to me and I look to the floor.
"We… there's no way we can fight them." I say quietly.
"There is no place for us to go either… we're screwed." I mutter and I look to her.
"… The ranger towers are in the west and the town is to the east… we can't go north but… what about south?" Omar says and we look to him.
'I'll explain after you three get changed I still need to think a bit." He says and I nod and Clem and I head to my old room and I started to change out the dirty clothes and I throw them to the ground and I felt a little better.
"Fucking hell." Clem mutters and I look to her a bit and then quickly grabbed one of my flannels and out it on.
"He's… not suggesting we head south, is he?" I asked.
"Would be the best plan… AJ and I know our way down there, especially if we head in the direction of Georgia or Tenne-." She stops and I look to her a bit.
"It's fine." I tell her and she nods a bit.
"Are you feeling, ok? you don't feel sick?" She asked as she placed her hand to my face and I nod a bit.
"No just… didn't know blood could freeze if I have to be honest." I tell her and she nods.
"Yeah, tends to do that." She says and I nod. I grabbed a pair of long johns and jeans and changed out of the dirty clothes and set them with the dirty jacket. I looked in the closet to see if I had that wool jean jacket and I sighed as I remember I had just worn it and I rubbed my head.
"Are you stressing out?" Clem asked.
"Maybe?" I asked and looked to her a bit and she placed her hand back to my cheek and I look to her.
"Are you scared?" She asked and I nodded.
"For fuck sake Clementine, we dealt with Raider, this should be easy but… fuck there were so many damn Walkers, and it's still the early parts of Winter so we'll probably fucking freeze out there and you just got over your flu a bit." I ranted and I take a seat on the bed and placed my hands to my face.
"Hey, hey, it's going to be ok, just a bit of a bump." She says and I take a deep breath. I was scared, I was terrified, I shouldn't be but the fact that there were Walkers and people coming after us again.
"Hey, take deep breaths, Violet." Clem says and I tried and they were shaky and I feel Clem rub my back. it didn't seem to work and I feel the tears fall before I could stop them.
"VI." Clem says and then she pulled me to her gently and I could hear her heart beating.
"I… I just… we." I tried to say something but I couldn't think of anything to say. She kept rubbing my back as I tried to calm down and she placed her hand to my head a bit.
"We won't get hurt, we can find a place, if not we can fight as much as we can, they won't take us or die trying." She says and I chuckled a bit at this.
"Rather be dead then deal with all this." I mutter.
"You don't really mean that." She whispers and we lay fully on the bed. My head to her chest as I still tried to focus on her heart beating.
"Not… not really." I mutter as I calm down a bit. She rubbed the back of my head a bit and I tried to stay awake.
"Are you ok?" I hear and I shrugged a bit.
"I don't know… I don't know what to do." I whisper.
"I'll be right back, get some rest and I'll fill you in on what's going on." She says but I stopped her. She laid back a bit and I moved my hand to her waist a bit and I just held her.
"Comfortable?" She asked and I nod a bit. We don't say anything at all and I just keep her close to me. I still couldn't keep the thoughts at bay, I still couldn't stop thinking of what we could do, or what could happen. I tried to keep myself calm and it was working with Clementine here.
"Are you ok? I know you still don't feel well." I asked her.
"Yeah, I'm fine… A little cough here and there but not as bad as before, honestly Omar basically can make a cure for the flu, his broth and stew work wonders." She says and I nod.
"Yeah, his cooking always makes people feel better while sick." I mutter quietly. I must have fallen asleep because I feel around for Clementine but there was nothing and I slowly open my eyes and looked to see her gone. I slowly get up and rubbed my head a bit then head to the music room as I hear the others.
"We would have to leave early in the morning then." I hear as I opened the door and the others look to me.
"Have a nice nap?" Ruby asked and I nod a bit.
"So that's what we have planned." Clementine says as she stands up. I go over to the flames and went to keep warm and I look to the others.
"We're planning on heading out early tonight." Louis says and I nod. There was nothing I could say or do, no point in changing their plans, no point in anything anymore. I rubbed my face a bit and just stayed quiet. It was the only plan we have at this point.
"We will pack our things tonight." Marlon says and I moved my hands from my face and I nod a bit.
"Yeah… uh need to pack the duffle bags with food." I say to them.
"On that." Mitch says and I nod a bit at this and just kept silent. As everyone got ready, I just stayed by the fire and I looked to the flames a bit. Clementine takes a seat near me and explained everything that we were going to do and I just nod at all this. What was there for me to say? I failed.
