Chapter 2
These are the conditions in which our heroine lived.But she was not discouraged. She was treated less harshly than the others. And then she became friends with a girl her own age named Katie Lornes. Katie was from a less noble family than her rich friend, but this did not interfere with their friendship.And Jane didn't have any good friends in her homeland either.

One fine day, when two friends we already knew were walking in the garden, unnoticed by anyone, they had the following conversation:

-"Yes," answered the friend, "but I have no choice."Don't tell anyone, don't tell anyone... And do you remember the stream that's about 500 yards from here? So, you'll bring food there and bury it near the olive bush. Is everything clear?

And soon one girl helped the other to carry out an escape plan, the details of which are unknown to us.
