A/N: This is the second part to the last chapter and there will probably be a part 3. I don't own any of the characters.
I Trust You - Part 2
A couple weeks had passed and it was now the end of March. Hank had heard their bid had been accepted, so he and Olivia were happy about that. He agreed to let Olive and Daniel rent his house. He, Nina and the squad were all working to take Chief Reid down. Nina was able to find out which ASA and Judge was working with him. As a team they had talked to people that Larson had represented who had someone in their family murdered. One of them even said they thought the person in jail had been wrongfully convicted and Nina told them she would look into that. They knew they were getting close to having Reid right where they wanted him and it would only be a matter of time before he was off the streets. Hank was heading to New York and everyone knew that. He said if anything with the Reid case came up to keep him informed but he wanted to spend the next week with his family. Nina knew that they would contact her if they needed a warrant or had someone in custody.
Hank headed to New York on Friday. That way he could spend some time with Olivia and Noah before Olive and Daniel came in Saturday afternoon. His flight was scheduled to arrive in the early afternoon. The last he knew was that Olivia was planning to pick him up. When the flight arrived, he got off the plane and went to get his suitcase. After he got it, he went outside. Instead of Olivia, Fin was there.
"Hey, man!"
"Hey. Is everything ok with Olivia?"
"Yeah. She was stuck in a meeting, so she told me to pick you up if she didn't get back in time.
Hank put his bag in Fin's vehicle and got in, so Fin could head to Olivia's apartment.
"How's everything goin' in Chicago?"
Hank told Fin about what had been going on.
"Damn! I hate cops like that. I hope you get the son of a bitch."
"Me too. I've got my squad and the Assistant State's Attorney helpin' with it. I think we're gettin' close though."
"Does Liv know about this?"
"She does. I told her about it the last time she was in Chicago. I told my squad that I want things done the right way and things were goin' to have to stay that way when Olivia transfers there. Nina, the ASA, prefers things to be done the right way anyway."
"I'm not necessarily lookin' forward to Liv leavin' but Curry's ok and she seems to know what she's doin' It's hard to trust her sometimes, since she used to be with IAB. At least it's not me who's bein' left in charge. I've worked with Liv a long time."
"If I could have retired, I would have but not with Burgess bein' the only Detective of the group. I couldn't just up and leave right after she became a Detective. If I still had Dawson, Halstead or Upton, I wouldn't have had a problem with it."
"I heard you're going to Greece for your honeymoon."
"Yep."
"Liv had lunch with Phoebe the other day, so now she wants me to take her somewhere."
"When are you two gettin' married?"
"We're both good with the way things are now. At least for now anyway. We love each other and that's all that matters."
"I feel that way about Olivia but I wanna be married to her."
"If I'm bein' honest, I think she's always kind of wanted a big wedding but hadn't found the right one. Cassidy never wanted marriage and a family and I really couldn't see her settlin' down with Tucker. We all new she felt somethin' for you, which is why we were all pretty surprised she was involved with him especially after everything that he had put her through over the years. I get the distance thing has been hard for you though. I would not have wanted to see her end up with Stabler for any reason. The guy disappeared for 10 years and then comes back when he needs somethin' from her. He gives her some half-assed excuse about why he never contacted her when he left. The only thing he asked about when he came back was how many men had Liv dated since he was gone. He asked me and not her. If she wasn't with you, I think I'd want her with Langan over anyone else but that's just me."
"She said she was over whatever it was she felt for Stabler and knew it would never amount to anything. He and I get along pretty well and I trust Olivia completely. Nina admitted she had feelings for me and then was gone workin' on a federal case for several months. I told Olivia about it and she said she trusts me. She and Nina met the last time she was in Chicago and they seem to get along pretty well. They are both lookin' forward to workin' together."
"I don't know if I'd be happy if I found out someone else had feelings for Phoebe. I trust her but I wouldn't necessarily trust them. You actually trust Stabler?"
"We had a talk about his and Olivia's relationship. I know he cares about her and I'm glad he looks out for her like you do. He said he just wants to be in her life and he knows she may never be able to completely forgive him for leavin' the way he did. He blames himself for a lot of what happened to Olivia since he's been back."
"The accident was caused by Angela Wheatley, so apparently she wanted Liv out of the way too and it's hard to say when Liv was shot."
"Stabler told me he thought it was more him they were after and she just happened to be the one to get hit. He told me that when he called me. He said he was glad he was there when that happened, since he wasn't around for the other stuff she went through. Did Olivia ever tell you what happened to me last year?"
"You were taken by some serial killer or somethin'?"
"Yeah. He drugged me. I ended up havin' a conversation with Al. I was ready to give up but he told me there was still more to do. It seemed so real. He was one of the few people who knew how I felt about Olivia. Nina was there when I was found but I know Trudy had called Olivia. She got there as soon as she could."
"We told her we could have handled things."
"I get she gets busy because I do too. It's not like it was life threatening or anything."
"Neither was Liv's when she was shot but you got out here in a hurry."
"I wasn't upset with her. I'm surprised she agreed to make the move."
"We are too. We'll miss her but it's not like we won't come see her."
"I think she's lookin' forward to steppin' back a little bit."
"Are you gonna be sharin' your squad?"
"For right now. She may consider wantin' to bring in a couple more people just to work specifically with her. We'll see what happens."
Fin arrived at Olivia's apartment and after Hank thanked him for picking him up, he got out and grabbed his bag. He then got out his key and went upstairs, while Fin headed back to the Precinct. The person at the desk recognized him and waved. Hank headed up to Olivia's apartment and unlocked the door. He took his jacket off and then took his stuff to her bedroom. He then took his boots off and got on the bed. He got a text from Erin asking if they had plans for dinner. He replied back saying that he had just gotten to Olivia's apartment but he hadn't seen her yet and according to Fin, she was stuck in a meeting. He was pretty sure Noah had his dance class after school but he would let her know as soon as he talked to Olivia. Erin replied that was fine. She had something she needed to talk to them about. Hank fell asleep. A couple hours later, Noah came home. He had to change and go to his class. He knew Hank was supposed to be there. He walked by Olivia's bedroom and saw Hank sleeping on the bed, so he went in. He shook him gently to wake him up just so he didn't startle him. Hank woke up.
"Hey, kiddo."
"Hey. I figured I'd wake you up."
"Thanks for that. Is it that time already?"
"Yep. I need to get changed and go to my class."
"You want some company?"
"Sure."
Noah went to change, while Hank put his boots on. Once Noah was ready, they walked to Noah's class. When they got there, Hank texted Olivia to let her know he was with Noah at his class. She texted him back that she would meet them there. He told her that Erin wanted to know if they had plans for dinner. Olivia told him to tell Erin to meet them and told him where and when. After he ended the conversation with Olivia, he texted Erin and told her where and when. Erin texted back and said she would be there. A little while later, Olivia arrived at the Dance School.
"Hey."
"Hey."
She kissed Hank and sat down next to him.
"How was your meeting?"
"Long and boring. It was actually CompStat, so I was stuck there listening to everyone on top of having to do my own thing. Renee was there with me, so she did some of it. At least I got to see Amanda."
"I take it you had to dress for the occasion."
"Oh, yeah. I have that in the SUV. I'm looking forward to having a week off. I wish we could have gone somewhere though."
"We have enough goin' on this year with you and Noah movin' to Chicago, the wedding, honeymoon and us gettin' ready to move."
"You're right."
"I think Olive and Daniel want to see some of the sights here, since they haven't really spent all that much time here. Daniel wants to see the Statue of Liberty."
"Noah and I have never done a tour of it unless he went with school. Olive told me he wants to see where I work too. I figure we can go to the 9/11 Memorial. We also can do the observation decks at the Empire State Building and Freedom Tower if anyone wants to."
" I don't know if the whole family will be able to be there. I know Elliot plans to be there but I thought since I've known his kids for so long, I'd invite them too. We're probably going to have to send the invitations out in the next few weeks, so we will probably have to work on that while you're here, so we can at least have them done. We have to let the venue know a couple weeks ahead of time as to the final count, right?"
"Yeah. I've been thinkin' about invitin' Nina."
"I don't have a problem with you inviting Nina. You can invite whoever you want."
"You're comin' in to go to Ruzek and Burgess' wedding with me, right?"
"I am. May 25th, right?"
"Yeah."
"I will be there. That's Memorial Day weekend."
"Yeah, it is. A couple days before is our closing."
"That means I have to come in on Thursday sometime."
"Is that a problem?"
"No. I just need to find somewhere for him to stay for the weekend. He has a half day that Friday. I don't always want to have to have him stay with Rollins and Carisi every time I go to Chicago."
"Burgess said Noah was invited too. Maybe he could come in with Erin. Although if we're gonna go furniture shopping, he'd probably wanna pick out his own stuff."
"True. If we go shopping after the closing, he wouldn't be there. It's just a half day, so maybe I can pull him out of school that Friday."
Once Noah's class was over, he went over to Hank and Olivia.
"Hey, Mom."
"Hey, Sweetie. We're meeting Erin for dinner."
"I need to take a shower first."
"Ok, then we better go."
They left and headed home. Once they got home, Olivia went to hang her uniform up and Noah went to take a quick shower. After he was done in the shower and dressed, they left the meet Erin. When they arrived, they didn't see Erin yet. Olivia told them how many there were going to be and they told her it would be 10-15 minutes. She went back over to Hank and Noah.
"About 10-15 minutes."
"That's not bad."
A few minutes later, Erin came in.
"Hey."
"Hey."
"They said about 10-15 minutes 5 minutes ago."
Once their table was ready, they were seated. They had their drink order taken, while everyone looked at the menu to see what they wanted. Then the server came back to take their order.
"I need to talk to you two about something."
"Ok."
"I'm getting a little fed up with all the traveling I'm doing and I'm considering going back to being a police officer. I'd like to go back to Chicago, since mostly everyone will be there anyway. I know I screwed up the last time and believe me, I learned my lesson. I know Liv is planning to work out of the 21st, so I would actually like to work with her and not necessarily Intelligence. If you need someone to fill in, I would be willing to help out."
"I don't have a problem with it. If you come back, then the entire family will be there. Olive and Daniel are plannin' to move back and asked if they could live in the house."
"Are you selling the house to her?"
"She's goin' to be rentin' it for right now. I told her she can pay me whatever she's comfortable payin'. She said she might consider buyin' it later but I told her I would still take care of the maintenance on it even if she buys it."
"I was going to ask if I could live there but I guess not."
"We're getting a house big enough for all of us and that included Olive and Daniel until we knew they were coming back and asked to live in Hank's house. If you can contribute something towards utilities and maybe help out with groceries, you can live with us if Hank agrees to that."
"I don't have a problem with that but I want you to talk CPD yourself and see if they will allow you to come back. If they have a problem with it, I can't do anything about it."
"I know and I get it."
"How about you, Noah? Are you ok with Erin living with us?"
"I'm good with that. Are you planning to charge me rent too?"
Olivia couldn't help but laugh and Hank shook his head.
"No, Sweetie, we're not. You may have to help out with shoveling snow and cutting grass though especially with two houses."
"I can deal with that."
"I'm fine with paying to you two every month or something from each check."
"Ok. I would love to have you working with me. Noah, we need to talk to you about something too. The 23rd of May is our closing, so I would have to head to Chicago on Thursday and that Sunday is Adam and Kim's wedding. Kim told Hank that you are welcome to attend. We were thinking about going shopping for furniture right after our closing and I know you would probably like to pick out the furniture for your new room. You have a half day on that Friday, so would you be ok if I pulled you out of school that day to take you with me?"
"I don't have a problem with that."
"Ok. Then I will see if I can make the arrangements to be able to head to the airport once you get out of school. We really need to start going through stuff and packing because as soon as you're out of school, we're leaving for Chicago, so I can prepare for the wedding."
"Oh, yeah, I know."
"Erin, when are you planning to start?"
"Probably when you are but I will still need to give my notice with the FBI."
"I talked to Donna Boden and she said both weeks are fine if we still need her. Both boys can stay with her on days they're off from school and over the summer."
"We may not if Erin will be there the 2 weeks we're gone."
"Maybe Erin and Donna can work somethin' out."
"I'm sure something can be arranged."
"If Erin's around, then I should be able to sleep in my own bed."
"True. Erin, are you around at all this weekend or next week?"
"Yeah. I made sure I was going to be around, so I can spend time with my nephew."
"I want to go dress shopping, since Olive will be here. We just need to pick a time, so I can let Amanda and Melinda know. Amanda is actually in town."
"Just let me know when and I will be there."
"I was starting to become concerned that you weren't going to be at the wedding because of your job."
"When I give someone my word, I stick to it."
"That's what I've heard."
"I told you."
"That's basically the reason I want to go back to being a cop, since I don't like all the traveling."
"Have you told Erin about the other thing?"
"Yeah, she knows."
"I did not know that."
"We're tryin' to get as much dirt as we can and Otero is actually workin' with a drug cartel, so she's helpin' me with that."
"In other words, Chief Reid is how the drugs are allowed into the city."
"Exactly."
They got their food and then they ate. Once they were done, Hank paid for dinner and then everyone headed home. Noah went to empty the dishwasher, while Olivia went to take her gun off. Hank followed her into the bedroom.
"I would love to soak in the tub and relax in your arms."
"Sounds like a plan to me. You start the water in the tub and I'll check on him."
"You're the best."
Olivia kissed Hank and went to start the water for their bath, while Hank went to check on Noah. Noah was in his room watching a movie on his tablet.
"You ok?"
"Yeah. Would it be ok for me to have a TV in my new room?"
"It shouldn't be a problem. We'll see you in the mornin', ok?"
"Yep. Night, Dad."
"Night, kiddo."
Hank kissed Noah on top of his head and then he went to join Olivia in the bathroom. She had pulled her hair up and had just gotten in. Hank undressed and joined her in the water. Olivia moved, so he could get behind her and then she leaned back into his chest. He wrapped his arms around her and she laced her fingers through his.
"I can't wait to be able to do this all the time. I love you."
"I love you too."
They relaxed for a while and then they washed each other before they got out of the tub. They dried off and got ready for bed. They went into the bedroom and made love before falling asleep in each other's arms.
The next morning, Hank, Olivia and Noah got up and had breakfast.
"What time are Olive and Daniel getting here?"
"I think their flight gets in by 4:30."
"It'll be nice having everyone in the same city."
"Yeah, it will."
"What are we doing this week?"
"Daniel wants to go to the Statue of Liberty and he wants to see where I work. We'll probably go to the 9/11 Memorial and maybe some museums or something. I want to go looking at dresses too, since everyone will be in the same city."
"That works."
"You ok, Sweetie?"
"Yeah."
They finished breakfast and then everyone got ready for the day. Once Olivia was ready, she was on her laptop looking at dresses at one of the area bridal shops, while Hank and Noah went out for a while to spend some time together. She found a few she liked for herself and a couple styles for her Bridesmaids and Flower Girls' dresses. She printed out the ones she liked and emailed them to Erin, Olive, Amanda and Melinda to see what they thought. Olive replied right away and said she liked either one. They were at the airport waiting to board the flight. Olivia replied back and said they would see them in a few hours. She had also gotten replies from Erin, Amanda and Melinda. They were fine with either one and Amanda told her which one the girls liked. Erin decided to go over to Olivia's. When she arrived, she went in and they knew her, so she went up. She then knocked on the door. Olivia went to answer it.
"Hey, Erin."
"Hey."
"Come on in."
Erin came in and took her jacket off.
"Where are the boys?"
"Hank took Noah out for a while, so they could spend some time together."
"You wanna have lunch with me?"
"Sure."
"Chinese?"
"Perfect."
Olivia grabbed her stuff and got her jacket, while Erin put her jacket on as well. They left and went to the restaurant that was nearby. When they arrived, they went in and got a table. They looked at the menu to see what they wanted and then they had their order taken.
"I'm really worried about this thing with Chief Reid. I'm worried for Hank's safety, not to mention the safety of everyone else involved and that includes Nina."
"They are close to bringing them both down. Nina seems nice."
"She admitted she has feelings for Hank but we seem to get along. I met her when I was out there the last time."
"That's no different than Stabler admitting he has feelings for you and Hank accepting him in your life."
"I told Hank I trust him, which I do. I'm glad he has someone besides his squad looking out for him."
"He would never hurt you. He is the most loyal person I know."
"I know he is. That's what I love about him. Elliot knows I still can't completely forgive him for the 10 years he was gone and he said he doesn't blame me for feeling the way I do."
"When I left Chicago, I needed a new start. I still cared about Jay but we needed to move on from our relationship. I think he's an idiot for what he did to Hailey."
"Do you see her?"
"Actually, I do. She's pretty much doing the same thing I am but in DC. The last time I was there, I saw her. She said she was planning to come in for Kim and Adam's wedding and probably yours."
"Hank said he's planning to invite Antonio too. He sent him a save the date card when we sent those out. Most people I sent one too have all said they are planning to be there. I just hope the weather is nice."
"It will be."
Hank and Noah came in and Hank was on the phone. They saw Olivia and Erin, so they joined them. Noah sat on the same side with Erin and Hank got in with Olivia. He kissed Olivia on the cheek as he was listening to what was going on at the other end of the conversation. He and Noah looked at the menu and then they had their order taken.
"What's going on?"
"Who knows. He hasn't said much since the phone rang. I think it's Burgess or someone from work."
"Break in the Reid case."
"Really?"
"Yeah. They found Reid dead in his office and the ASA that Reid was workin' with was also found dead. They're pretty sure it was Otero. Now Otero is holdin' Nina hostage. Burgess called and is keepin' me up to date on the situation as it happens. Hostage Negotiation is there now and so is the State's Attorney. I don't know if they found out that we were investigatin' them or not."
"Why else would they be holding Nina hostage? She would be the one to prosecute him, right?"
"Yeah. At this point, the State's Attorney would most likely be the one prosecutin' Otero unless they can take him out.
"If she's a victim, I can't see her being the one doing it."
"Yeah, exactly. If they can get a shot, hopefully they can take him down. Most of his people are locked up but I think he wants to guarantee that he won't go to prison. Murderin' an ASA and a cop and holdin' an ASA hostage doesn't look good."
"I'd be more worried about him raping her but that's me. It's what I do."
"That too. He does that, I'd kill him myself. I hate when men disrespect women."
"Sarge, are you there?"
"Yeah, Kim. I'm here."
"They got Otero. He's dead."
"Good. Is Chapman ok?"
"She's ok. Just a little shaken up."
"Ok. I gotta go. Thanks for keepin' me posted on the situation."
"You're welcome."
Hank ended the call.
"Otero's dead. Chapman is ok but a little shaken up."
"I'm sure you'll check on Nina later just to make sure she's really ok. I understand what she's going through, since I've been help hostage numerous times."
"Yeah, I probably will and I know you have."
"This happened at her house?"
"Yeah."
They got their soup and egg rolls and then they waited for their meals.
"That did you two do?"
"Guy stuff."
"We went for a walk in Central Park and just hung out. We picked up some groceries for dinner too."
"Ok. When are you and the guys going shopping for what you're all wearing for the wedding?"
"There's a store in Chicago that has a location here as well, so I could go with Fin and the boys sometime this week and then go with Ruzek and Atwater at home. We can't go until you decide on a color."
"Probably royal blue and a light blue like baby blue or sky blue. I think I want Erin in royal blue and Olive, Amanda and Mel in light blue."
"I'm thinkin' gray suits with a white shirt and tie for me and white shirts and blue ties for the guys then. I take it you would like Noah to match Erin."
"That's the plan. Once I choose the colors, then I can get swatches of the colors for you to get the ties to match."
"That works for me. The ties I can get all at once but Ruzek and Atwater need to get the sizes of the shirts and suits they would need."
"That works. And you, young man, need to wear real shoes and not your sneakers."
"Yes, Ma'am."
"I'm planning on getting something simple for myself and the bridesmaids' and flower girls' dresses I found were pretty simple."
"I do hope you're plannin' on gettin' somethin' that shows off those sexy curves of yours."
"I will take that into consideration."
"Have you gotten someone to take pictures?"
"I asked Carisi if he would do it and he said he would."
"Are they plannin' to bring Nicky?"
"As of now, I don't think so. They've been talking about leaving him with Dominick and Serafina."
"What do I have to do as the Best Man?"
"If you were older, you could plan a Bachelor Party."
"Erin, don't tell him that."
"Well, it's true."
"I don't want a Bachelor Party anyway."
"What happens at a Bachelor Party?"
"Never mind."
"Mom, I'm 13."
"Yeah, I know. Let me tell you this, I've had to deal with victims who were sexually assaulted at a Bachelor Party because someone got too drunk and started acting inappropriately. I don't approve of women being degraded like that."
"You get to make one of the toasts at the dinner."
"Like what?"
"We can work on it together."
"Ok."
Their food arrived and then they ate. After they were done, they got their leftovers and headed back to Olivia's after Erin paid for everyone. Noah picked a movie for them to watch, while Hank checked in with Nina to make sure she really was ok. She told him she was ok but still a little shaken up. She was going to stay at a hotel for a few days. He told her if she needed anything to call him or Olivia. She said she would. Hank hung up after they were done talking.
"She's ok but a little shaken up like Burgess said. She's gonna stay at a hotel for a few days. I told her if she needs anything to call either of us."
"That works."
They all watched the movie together and then after the movie, Erin left to pick up Olive and Daniel at the airport. She took them to their hotel to get checked in and then they headed over to Olivia's. When they got there, they went up and knocked on the door. Hank and Olivia were fixing dinner, so Noah went to answer it.
"Hey, Olive and Daniel."
"Hey, Noah."
"Hi Noah."
Olive and Daniel hugged Noah and then they came in.
"Hi Papa. Hi Grandma."
"Hey, kiddo."
"Hi Sweetie."
Daniel went to hug them both and then Olive hugged them too.
"How was your flight?"
"Long."
"Papa, I can't wait to move to Chicago, so we can see each other all the time."
"I'm lookin' forward to that too."
"Auntie said she's moving there too."
"She is. She'll be livin' with us."
"Cool."
"I haven't decided when yet but we'll be going dress shopping while you're here. Once I choose my colors and hopefully get swatches of the colors, Hank will take the guys minus Atwater and Ruzek shopping."
"Sounds like a plan to me. Did anyone like one dress over the other?"
"Not really. All 4 of you were fine with either style. I'm leaning towards royal blue and a light blue like baby blue or sky blue. I want Erin in royal blue. Do you want Daniel to match you or the guys?"
"Probably the guys."
"Are you going with tuxedos?"
"Suits. I decided on a gray suit with a white shirt and tie for me and gray suits with white shirts and the blue ties for the guys. Noah will match Erin."
"That works."
Olivia brought the salad out and then they all sat down at the table. Hank went to get the rest of it. After they finished dinner, they had dessert and then the boys cleaned up. Olivia texted Amanda and Melinda to find out what day worked best for them to go looking at dresses. They both said Sunday worked for them. She checked with Erin and Olive and they were fine with that as well. Olivia suggested they meet somewhere for breakfast and everyone agreed. They watched another movie as a family and then Erin, Olive and Daniel left. Noah went to his room, while Hank and Olivia went into her bedroom and made love.
The next morning, everyone got up and got ready. Erin went to pick Olive and Daniel up, so they could take Daniel over to Olivia's to spend time with Hank and Noah. The 3 of them left after Olivia kissed Hank and Noah and then they went to meet Melinda, Amanda and the girls for breakfast. Everyone got there around the same time.
"Morning, ladies."
"Hey, Olivia."
"Hey, Liv."
"Hi Auntie Liv."
Jesse and Billie gave Olivia a hug.
"Olive, this is Melinda Warner, who is the Chief Medical Examiner, Amanda Rollins, who heads our Intelligence Unit and her daughters Jesse and Billie. This is Olive, Hank's daughter-in-law."
"It's nice to meet you, Olive. I've heard a lot about you from Olivia."
"I've heard a lot about you as well."
They went inside and got a table. They looked at the menu and had their order taken.
"What are your boys up to today, Amanda?"
"They were still asleep when we left. Sonny likes to sleep in on Sundays."
"I take it he went to church last night."
"Yeah. We sometimes go but I try not to if I can help it. What are yours up to?"
"Hank was making French toast, scrambled eggs, bacon and hash browns for breakfast when I left. Everyone had to get up, since Olive and Erin brought Daniel over."
"How old is your son?"
"He'll be 10 in a couple months."
"Jesse will be 10 and Billie's 6."
"Who's Hank's Best Man?"
"He asked Noah. Noah asked yesterday what a Best Man does. His big sister told him if he was older, he could plan a Bachelor Party. I can't tell you how many of those we've had to investigate over the years because someone got too drunk."
"Yeah, I know. Remember that wedding last year that you got called to and I helped out with?"
"How could I forget? Some days I'm afraid to send Noah to school. I can't be there to protect him all the time."
"I know. I love how Sonny goes into Dad mode when he catches some guy lookin' at Jesse the wrong way."
"He still has some cop in him though."
"Yeah, he does. I love how he is so protective of us. He's more of a dad to them than their biological dads are."
"Do they ever see them?"
"No. Declan met Jesse once but he went back to workin' undercover, so he's gone a lot. If he can, he'll call and he usually sends her somethin' for her birthday. He's glad that Sonny is around for her though. I haven't heard from Al since Billie was born."
"That's the same guy who pistol whipped Carisi when we were working on arresting Johnny D."
"Yeah, I know, right?"
"Did you ever tell Noah about his real parents?"
"I did. He Googled me and both Johnny D and William Lewis came up. Sheila had told him a little bit about Ellie but I told him everything. He's glad we're his parents."
"How much about Hank does he know?"
"Hank tries to be as honest as he can with him about things. Noah understands more than we think. He told Hank he understood why he did what he did to the guy that killed Justin. He said Daniel didn't deserve to grow up without his dad. I feel Noah missed out on a lot by not having a dad but he loves Hank so much. I don't know that I could have let just anyone in my son's life."
"And people wonder why I haven't started dating again. I don't know that I could do the online thing and I also have to worry about how this person will treat my son. I would love to meet a single dad of one of Daniel's classmates or something like that."
"Maybe something will happen when you go back to Chicago."
"Yeah, maybe."
"I understand why Hank did what he did too but what would have happened if he had gotten caught?"
"I tried telling him to think about Daniel but he did it anyway."
"He was hesitant to tell me what had happened because he thought I would think less of him for it and thought I would be disappointed in him. We've all done things we aren't proud of and that was one of his things along with what happened between him and Matt Casey."
"Which again involved Justin."
"Erin will be the only one not in Chicago?"
"Actually, she informed us that she wants to go back to being a cop because she's getting tired of all the traveling she's doing."
"I don't like bein' way from Sonny and the kids as much as I am but I like bein' the head of my own unit. Would you go back to Intelligence?"
"I wanna work with Liv. Hank didn't have a problem with it but he won't fix any more of my messes. I get that. I messed up the last time."
"I get that. I've gotten more chances than I deserved throughout the years. I really thought I was done bein' a cop after I was shot that last time but I just wasn't happy teachin'. I missed SVU but I think a part of me didn't want to go back because of Sonny. I didn't want it to seem like there was a conflict of interest in our cases."
"I'm the queen of conflicts of interest. I dated David Haden and Bayard Ellis found out about it, so it didn't last much longer after that. Then I got back together with Brian Cassidy but when he was accused of rape, Amaro and Munch found out about it. However, that lasted longer than I expected. We parted ways after what I went through with William Lewis because I wanted marriage and a family but he didn't. I met Hank and I started feeling something for him but I wasn't sure it would work out because of the distance. I ended up in a relationship with Ed Tucker of all people and talk about conflicts of intertest. Ok, so maybe I cared about Ed more than I ever thought I would and I was heartbroken when he did what he did but at the same time I was fighting my true feelings for Hank. I'm glad I ended up with Hank. When he approached the higher ups at CPD about having an SVU out of his District, he told them right off the bat that we were in a relationship and planning to get married before I started my job there. They didn't seem to have any issues with it. They know about Burgess and Ruzek too."
"I learned my lesson and won't date co-workers any more. I'd like to settle down with someone but if it doesn't happen, I'm ok with that too."
"At least you don't have to deal with Halstead anymore."
"True. Did you ever meet Kelly Severide when you were out there?"
"I did. I went out there with Liv for a case before I left SVU and we all went to Molly's afterward and everyone from the fire station was there. He's the sexy firefighter, right?"
"Yeah. I dated him before Jay. I'm happy he and Kidd are happy."
"Hank said they're trying to adopt a baby."
"Good for them."
"Why did you and Severide break up?"
"His best friend was killed and he became a little too clingy after her death. She was a paramedic at 51."
"Antonio Dawson's sister was her partner."
"Ok. Is Voight invitin' Antonio to the wedding?"
"He sent him a save the date card and he said he already told him he planned to be there. We need to work on that while he's here, since they're going to have to go out pretty soon."
"Is Hank planning to invite Meredith?"
"I think so but he doesn't expect her to come. They finally sat down and talked things out. He understands why she's so pissed at him and he blames himself for what happened to Al. He didn't want Al to take the blame for that. He said Al told him he needed to be here for us and said his marriage to Meredith really suffered after Lexi's death."
"What happened to Al is more my fault than it is Hank's. When it first happened, I told Hank that I owed him for everything he had done for me over the years and I'd probably be dead right now if it wasn't for him. He's the one that shaped me into the person I am now. Bunny never cared about me except when she wanted something. She kept saying Hank was going to get me killed but she's the one that dragged me down the wrong path after Nadia died. Once I left Chicago, I cut her out of my life completely. She would call me looking for money but I always ignored her calls."
"She tried calling Hank, I think but he blocked her number. If she came into the District looking for him, Trudy knew not to contact him and if she wasn't there, she always made sure who was there knew not to contact him. I guess she came in once and Trudy told her if she came there again, they would take her into custody."
"I think Hank did tell me that. I was not surprised when she died of an overdose."
"That's kind how I felt when Simon died. He would only seem to contact me when he wanted something and he told me he was clean for 5 years. I get he didn't do it to himself but still. Speaking of being clean and sober, Amanda, how's Kim?"
"I haven't gone to see her and honestly, I don't want to. Whenever Mama comes up, she'll take Mason to see her but she told me Kim has a long way to go before she would even trust her with him."
"It's good to know that your mother finally sees your side of it."
"After what happened to Daddy and Kim finally admittin' she had a problem, Mama said I was right about Kim all along and she was the one that enabled Kim's behavior. Mama is doin' a great job with Mason though."
"She hasn't been up here lately has she?"
"No but she's talkin' about possibly comin' up sometime this summer, so she can see her grandbabies and Mason wants to see Kim. I told her we were goin' to a wedding out of town in mid June. She said it might be more around the 4th of July."
"Are you bringing Nicky to the wedding?"
"No. With me and the girls in the wedding and Sonny takin' pictures, who's gonna watch him? He's stayin' with Dominick and Serafina. I would love to play tourist in Chicago though."
"I never saw myself ever leaving New York but I'm glad I'm moving to Chicago. If you play tourist when you're there, I highly recommend doing the lake and river architectural tour on the Seadog. It is amazing. I may have Hank do a list of things to do and see in Chicago to put in the invitations, so people who have never been there can do stuff if they want."
"I would love that. I've never been to Chicago."
"Ok. I know there are quite a few people from here who have never been there. Elliot hasn't, Trevor hasn't, Phoebe hasn't, Barba hasn't and Don hasn't.
Olivia texted Hank and asked him if he could do a list of things to do and see in Chicago for the people who have never been there. He said he would. They got their food and after they ate, Olivia paid the bill and then they went to the Bridal Store. They looked around and tried on both styles that Olivia liked. They had to order the Bridesmaids' dresses in colors they wanted but the lengths and sizes of what they tried on fit perfectly and Olivia was able to get swatches of the colors, so the guys could match their ties to the dresses. Olivia paid for everything and then they left with her dress and the Flower Girl dresses. They all headed over to Olivia's. When they got there, the boys were watching a movie that was about over and Hank was working on the list Olivia wanted him to do and address labels for his people. She went over and kissed him.
"Hey, Noah, I'm meetin' Sonny and Nicky at the Central Park Zoo. Do you want come with us. Your mom said it was ok. Daniel, you can come too."
"Sure."
"Ok. Mom, it's ok if I go?"
"Yes, it's fine. I told Amanda it was fine."
The movie ended and then the boys got their jackets. Noah hugged Olivia and Daniel gave Olive a hug and kiss.
"Sweetie, do you want some money?"
"Ok."
"Olive, don't worry about. We invited them, so we'll pay for everything."
"Thank you, Amanda. That is so nice of you."
Amanda left with the 4 kids and they headed to the Zoo to meet Sonny and Nicky.
"How's it going here?"
"Fine. I'm workin' on your list and address labels for my people."
"Good. I see you found the label program."
"Yep. Did you get anything?"
"I did but you can't see it. They had to order the Bridesmaids' dresses in the colors I wanted but I got the swatches of the colors, so you can get matching ties. Amanda has Jesse and Billie's dresses."
"Ok, good."
"We do still need to get shoes though."
"Maybe we could do dressier sandals or something. I really hate wearing panty hose."
"I'm not big on panty hose either to be honest.
"I love that idea. Maybe white shoes for all of you. I'm also thinking that when we go for manicures and pedicures before the wedding, you should get yours done in the lighter blue and the other Bridesmaids in the darker blue."
"That works for me."
"Me too."
"Same with me."
"I'm sure Amanda will be fine with it too. The girls can do whichever color they want."
"What are you planning to do?"
"I'm still thinking about it. Right now I want to focus on doing the invitations and all that. I need to do my labels too I guess."
Hank moved, so Olivia could work on her addresses.
"Have you heard from Alex Cabot or Casey Novak lately?"
"No. The last time I talked to Alex, we were not on good terms."
"You did tell me about that case."
"I have no idea where Casey even is."
"Are you inviting a lot of people?"
"Maybe 100 or so. I'm planning to invite Elliot's kids but I don't know if they will all be able to come or not."
"Are you allowing kids?"
"Yes. Hank told Kim and Adam that Makayla was invited and the Bodens that Terrance was invited. Fin said he and Phoebe may have Jaden that weekend and I said they could bring him to the wedding as well. I can understand Amanda's logic for not bringing Nicky if she and the girls are in the wedding and Carisi is taking pictures. I'm inviting Nick Amaro and if he wants to bring his wife and both of his kids, I'm fine with that even if his kids are older. I wouldn't say no if anyone else had kids and wanted to bring them."
"Antonio said he was plannin' to be there when I last talked to him. He wasn't sure if he was bringin' Gabby or one of his kids. I said if he wanted to bring all of them, that was fine. His kids are older too."
Olivia continued working on her labels and after a while, Melinda left. They had lunch and worked on the invitations. By the time they were done, Amanda had brought the boys back and headed home. Everyone went out for dinner.
The next day, they went to the Statue of Liberty and then they went to visit SVU. Each day they did something else and Hank went shopping for suits, shirts and ties for the wedding with Noah, Fin and Daniel. Erin had said goodbye to everyone on Saturday night, since she was headed out of town again and was leaving Sunday morning. By early Sunday afternoon, Olivia and Noah took Hank, Daniel and Olive to the airport. They arrived at the airport and everyone got out. Hank got the bags out, while Olivia and Noah said goodbye to Olive and Daniel. Hank shut the back of Olivia's SUV and then went to hug Noah.
"Behave yourself, kiddo and don't give your mom a hard time."
"I will. Love you."
"Love you too."
Hank then went to hug Olivia.
"Behave yourself, Benson."
"Only if you will. I love you."
"I love you too and I'll think about it."
"I miss you already. Call me when you get home?"
"I always do."
"You too, Olive."
"I will."
Hank kissed Olivia and then he, Olive and Daniel went inside, while Olivia and Noah headed home. Once they got checked in, they went through security and then they grabbed something to eat. Before they headed to their respective gates, they said their goodbyes.
"Have a safe flight."
"You too."
"I love you, Papa."
"I love you too, kiddo."
Hank hugged both of them and they went to their gates for their gates. Saying goodbye to Olivia and Noah was always hard but he was glad that they would be together all the time in just a couple months. A few hours later, both flights took off.
