Elize was sleeping comfortably in her room. It had been a long night just worrying for her dormmates but after they came back safe, and sound, she was relieved. She wondered what exactly happened at the Abandoned Dorm but decided to ask about it tomorrow. Elize hopes nothing bad had happened...
But suddenly some loud heavy footsteps snapped her awake hearing some pounding on the door to Jaden's room that Elize's is beside.
"Huh, what's going on?" she asked nervously as she was about to open the door only for Eria to take her hand and stop her. "Eria?"
"Something's wrong, they sound kind of scary." Eria admitted nervously.
So they started listening outside for what's going on.
"Jaden Yuki?" they heard the voice of a woman asked.
"Yeah, who's asking?"
"The head of the Disciplinary Action Squad. You, and your classmate Syrus Truesdale are under suspension."
"For what?"
"Come with us to Chancellor Sheppard, and we will discuss the details." the woman's tone leaves no room for argument.
"Suspension, but why?" Elize whispered.
They hear silence before then hearing footsteps walking off. Elize carefully walked opening the door seeing Jaden, and Syrus loaded onto a truck as it drove off in the direction to Duel Academy's Building.
"Not licious." she heard Chumley spoke beside her looking worried for his two roommates.
Soon enough Jaden and Syrus were in front of Chancellor Sheppard, Nurse Fontaine, Dr. Crowler, and the woman who told them they were being suspended.
"What's going on?" Jaden asked curiously.
"Well boys, we had been told of some disturbing news." Chancellor Sheppard spoke on his desk with a frown at the two. He had been explained what had happened, and was nothing short of disappointed towards them. "Was it true that you both had trespassed at the Abandoned Dorm?"
Syrus flinched but Jaden nodded. "Well yeah, but we didn't have a choice considering that masked creep kidnapped Alexis and put her in a coffin."
"Alexis was what?" Chancellor Sheppard raised an eyebrow hearing that.
Dr. Crowler himself kept a shocked or disgusted expression from crossing his face. If they knew that he had sent Titan to go after Jaden, and at the Abandoned Dorm, then he would get fired or worse. Besides that Shadow Duelist wasn't worth the money he had to spend if he couldn't do one simple job.
"This creep in a mask, he grabbed Alexis and dragged her into the dorm... we heard her scream and I had to beat that guy in a duel to rescue her." Jaden answered. "I'm just glad she's ok."
"Well despite your heroism, you still broke a major Academy Rule." the woman spoke with a glare towards them. "The penalty for trespassing within the Abandoned Dorm is expulsion no exceptions."
"Expulsion? Oh man..." Syrus frowned looking down.
"Come now, must we really act like tyrants?" Dr. Crowler voiced over. Although he does want Jaden out of Duel Academy, he doesn't want to give the impression that it isn't fair to all students, and have it's ruled by tyrants. They have a reputation as a Top Dueling School who gives fair chances to it's students, and resolve conflicts by dueling which he takes seriously. "I say we give them a sporting chance."
"Oh, you have something in mind Crowler?" Chancellor Sheppard inquired turning to him.
"This goes against Duel Academy regulations." the woman pointed out.
"Our regulations is as follows we resolve conflicts by dueling, and give our students fair chances. So I say, we give them a chance to redeem themselves by having them be in a Tag Duel." Dr. Crowler suggested over towards the Chancellor. "They will stay if they win but leave if they lose. This way they can have a chance to stay at the Academy, or if not, at least they were given an opportunity to stay."
"Hmm..." Chancellor Sheppard noted thoughtfully cupping his chin. "You make a good point Crowler, alright then we'll set a tag match, win and we'll forgive this incident. However should you lose the duel you'll be expelled from Duel Academy, I trust these are fair terms for you two?"
"Yeah sure, I'm ready for who we will face. Right Sy?" Excited at the prospect of a high-stakes duel Jaden is eager before turning to Syrus for what he thinks.
Syrus however looked nervous. "Huh, oh... right..."
"He doesn't look very confident in his abilities your highness." Dark Lightning mentioned.
'Well we will just have to help him out with it.' Jaden spoke over knowing that they need to help Syrus get his confidence boosted.
"Very well then, this weekend we will hold the duel. I will try finding some opponents."
"Don't worry yourself Chancellor, I already got some opponents for them in mind."
"This is highly against our actions! We need to expel them here and now!" the woman argued over not believing they should be given a fair chance after a violation of a very sensitive rule.
"Are you a teacher?" Dr. Crowler questioned her with a raised eyebrow.
"No... but..." the woman flinched.
"Your duty is managing the safety of the students, and protect the Academy by dealing out troublemakers. The teachers duty is guiding them on the right path, and deciding the fitting penalty when they done something wrong. We don't tell you how to run your job, so in turn don't tell us how to run ours." Dr. Crowler makes it perfectly clear the woman doesn't have any right to decide what punishment these two will take telling her to leave it to Chancellor Sheppard, and himself.
She flinched. "I understand sir."
"Well, with that settled we'll make the preparations for your expulsion matches and inform you of when the duel is to take place." Chancellor Sheppard mentioned calmly.
"Right Chancellor." Jaden nodded as he takes Syrus' wrist gently to take him away.
Dr. Crowler smirked a bit at that knowing their expulsion was all but guaranteed.
"Okay then Sy. We need to get ready for the duel, and I think I know one way how." Jaden spoke to Syrus out in the hallway as they talked to each other.
"Huh, what do you mean?" Syrus blinked hearing that.
"Well, we duel each other."
Syrus widened his eyes. "Huh, we have a..."
"Um... excuse me, Jaden? Syrus?
Hearing this they looked over to see who was talking to them. It was Elize and she looked worried. "Is everything ok?"
"Oh Elize." Jaden spoke seeing her. "Well, the whole thing at the Abandoned Dorm was let out to Chancellor Sheppard. Now me, and Sy are gonna be involved in a duel that will expel us if we lose."
"Expel? That's horrible." Elize gasped shocked from this.
"Wait a second, I thought they only said suspension before." Hiita frowned.
"Can we do anything?" Dharc asked if they can help out.
"Well this is me, and Sy's problem, so don't worry. We are about to start dueling to be ready for it." Jaden explained to them.
"Oh, well ok... I'll be rooting for you to get to stay." Elize admitted.
"Actually maybe you can help us practice?" Jaden suggested.
"Huh, oh I don't know... I'm not that good a duelist." Elize admitted nervously.
"Don't say that Elize, this can be a chance to help out and you can become great friends." Wynn reassured her with a soft smile.
"She's right, and every little bit can help them get ready for the duel right?" Lyna added nodding that this would be a good experience for them.
"You want to help his majesty?" Dark Shield inquired.
"You guys don't have to, if you don't want to though." Jaden said to Elize, and her Duel Spirits if their not up for it. No need to force them into it if they aren't in the mood for it.
"Well, if I can do anything to help a little I'd like to." Elize whispered shyly.
"Alright! Let's all head to an area for us to start training!" Jaden grinned taking their wrists to start taking them to a private area.
"Ack! Jaden!" Syrus gasped as they were being dragged off.
After a few minutes they all are at an area near the ocean at their dorm where Jaden, Syrus, and Elize are at where they will be training at.
"Okay so Sy, you want to start first at this?" Jaden asked Syrus if he, and Syrus will duel each other first to start training.
"Oh... well I can try." Syrus nodded nervously.
"Okay now... which of my Decks you want me to use?" Jaden then asked the question, Elemental HERO or Evil HERO? Both of them are strong especially Jaden's Terra Firma while his Evil HEROs have the power of Super Polymerization.
"Um... I'm not sure... your Elemental HERO deck?" Syrus asked.
"Okay. You guys fine with this?" Jaden turns to his Evil HEROs if their cool with it. Their willing to fight for their king but will be benched if he needed, or wanted them to be. They are capable of patience.
"It's fine." Burst Mistress answered.
So Jaden takes out his Elemental HERO Deck placing it in his Duel Disk grinning while Syrus nervously readies his own while Elize watches in between them to see them practice. "Okay Sy, get your game on!" Syrus nodded nervously as Elize sat to watch the duel.

"Okay Sy, call it in the air." Jaden takes out a coin flipping it within the air.
"Oh um... Tails." Syrus called.
Jaden catches it checking before nodding to Syrus. "Heads, and I'll go second."

Syrus shuddered but nodded as he looked at his hand. "Um... ok I'll set one card and play a monster in Defense Position. That's all."

"Okay Sy, my turn!" Jaden drew checking over. Seeing what he has he grins. "Okay, I'll summon this guy! Elemental HERO Prisma!" Raising was a crystal like warrior like Doom Prison but this one is different than it.

"Oh I know. Why not Elemental HERO Mariner!" Jaden grins showing the card while Prisma transformed into Avian.

Forming was a blue-green skin warrior with anchors on his wrists with chains while also muscular having plates of armor on his shoulders alongside long spiky hair, and a mask on his form.

Syrus widen his eyes before Jaden pointed over. "So go get him! Anchor Away!" Mariner let out a battle cry launching an anchor at Syrus.
"I... I activate my trap card." Syrus mentioned only for his Duel Disk to register an ERROR as he was hit and cried out.

"Huh, what happened?" Syrus frowned.
"What's going on Sy?" Jaden asked wondering what happened.
"My trap didn't trigger." Syrus admitted.
Elize walked over. "Can I see?"
"Oh... sure." Syrus nodded showing her the card.

Syrus's eyes widened before he frowned. "So I messed up again..."
"Hey, there's such a thing as growing pains Sy, we all make those kinds of mistakes sometimes." Jaden assures him with a smile. "Your turn now either way."

Syrus drew his card and froze looking at it as he shuddered.
Flashback...
A younger Syrus was dueling a bully who had Gearfried the Iron Knight on his field along with a set card while he had Steamroid and Gyroid both on his field in Attack Position. Now Syrus wants to duel him so that he can stop his torment, and will do it.
Syrus ? Turn:
"My turn." Syrus called drawing as his eyes lit up seeing the card he had drawn. 'Power Bond, that's perfect.' It was the card his big brother had given him, and it's a powerful card that gives him the edge he needs. "Alright, I'll activate the spell card-"
"Stop." a voice stopped him as someone walked passed him to the bully offering him a card. It was a younger Zane Truesdale. "This duel never happened, take this, and go."
"Wicked card. You've got yourself a deal." the bully accepted the card with a smirk taking it before leaving ending the match without a winner.
"Huh, Zane why did you do that, I was about to win the duel." Syrus pointed out.
"You weren't aware of what Power Bond was able to do, I would never give you the card had I known you were about to misplay it." Zane didn't turn around while he said this to Syrus.
"Misplay it? But I had Steamroid and Gyroid in play... so I could have summoned Steam Gyroid and won the duel... I've seen you play the card all the time." Syrus mentioned.
"Yes indeed but this was the card your opponent had on the field face-down." Zane shows a trap card to Syrus which was Spellbinding Circle. A powerful trap card where any monster the target is can't attack.
"Spellbinding Circle? But that means..." Syrus whispered.
"Yes so even if you had used Power Bond, and double your monsters points it would do nothing if your monster can't attack. Then at the end phase, the damage from Power Bond would defeat you." Zane spoke before then turning to his brother disapprovingly. "You weren't thinking Syrus, some strategies require more ways to use them effectively. You may know how to use the card, but there is more to dueling then simply that."
"What do you mean, what should I have done?" Syrus asked only for Zane to turn and walk off. "Zane?"
End Flashback...
Syrus shuddered again looking at the card. "I... I play Polymerization. I use it to fuse Ambulanceroid and Rescueroid together to Fusion Summon Ambulance Rescueroid in Attack Position!"
A large red truck rose up ready onto the field.

"Okay my turn Sy!" Jaden drew checking his hand. 'Hey, Yubel, did you notice something? It looked like he was gonna use a card but something else.' He wasn't sure if he had seen it really so he thought of asking Yubel if she noticed too.
"I saw, something is going on and we need to figure out what so he doesn't hold you back." Yubel agreed.
Jaden checked before nodding. "Okay then, I will begin this turn by activating E - Emergency Call!" A spell of an E appeared on the field.

"I take an Elemental HERO to my hand." Searching his Deck, Jaden takes the card before then saying, "And next is Fusion Recovery!" Jaden shows another spell that has a Synchro Fusionist emerging from the graveyard with a Polymerization.

"Crystalline HERO taking the mantle of the Ocean HERO! Join with the Earth HERO, and together combine into the HERO that symbolizes the planet! Fusion Summon! Save the day, Elemental HERO Terra Firma!"
Readying was Terra Firma on Jaden's field with a grin.

Syrus shuddered seeing the powerful Fusion Monster that overpowered Ambulance Rescueroid.
"Okay Terra Firma attack that Ambulance Rescueroid!" Jaden called as Terra Firma charged both swords moving in towards Syrus' Fusion Monster.
Syrus cried out as Prisma destroyed Jetroid

"And with him gone, your wide open! Woodsman attack him directly!" Woodsman charges over towards Syrus.
Syrus braced himself as he was knocked off his feet.

"Okay that's my turn Sy." Jaden spoke excited but has a frown. He can tell that Syrus seems to be holding stuff back. He had trained with Yubel, and his Evil HEROs so he can tell when someone is holding back.

Jaden drew before looking over. "Prisma attack him directly!" Prisma charges in towards Syrus. Syrus cried out getting hit as he was defeated.

Syrus sits up which Jaden spoke over. "Hey Sy, why were you acting like that? What'd you have?" Jaden takes the cards in his hand to see what Syrus has in his hand.
"Huh, Jaden wait!" Syrus gasped as his hand was UFORoid and Power Bond.
"Power Bond?" Jaden had heard of this card himself, a powerful Fusion Spell that can be used for devastating attacks but has a powerful drawback if used. "Why didn't you use this? If you had doubled Ambulance Rescueroid's Attack Points you would have beaten me."
"And he has Supercharge face-down which allows him to draw 2 cards when your monster attacks while he has a roid on the field." Dharc added over just as confused why Syrus held those cards back.
"It... it's not important." Syrus looked away. "I can't use them anyway."
"What do you mean, you can't?" Jaden looked confused hearing that.
Syrus looked away before running off.
"Sy!" Jaden called reaching a hand while he stares off.
He knew Syrus was insecure about himself but he didn't think this much. He doesn't feel like he's good enough to use Power Bond, and didn't use it to give himself a win against Jaden, and thinks that he be bad for Jaden based on the kind of facial expressions that he had during their meeting with Chancellor Sheppard. Something must be bothering him that made him like this, well he will find out what that was, and help him be confident.
"Lex hi." Jaden spoke seeing her wondering why they didn't notice before. "Maybe you know why Sy's acting like this?"
"I think so, he probably doesn't think he's good enough to help you in your match. I can't really blame him though, especially when he's probably comparing himself to his older brother." Alexis answered.
"Older brother?" Jaden asked hearing that didn't know that Syrus has a brother.
"You don't know, Syrus's older brother Zane... he's the best duelist on the island." Alexis revealed.
"Whoa the best duelist?" Jaden had heard of the Top Duelist on Campus being the best on the island but he didn't think that be Syrus' older brother. Then he frowned probably getting an idea on why Syrus is acting like this now. "Poor guy must have a lot of anxiety for living under his brother's shadow or something."
"Yeah, that's putting it lightly. I can't say I blame Syrus for feeling like he'd hold you back." Alexis admitted.
"Poor Syrus." Eria frowned sadly. "Can we do anything?"
Jaden already has an idea turning over towards Yubel. Within the entire time dueling, they want to face the best, and assist all people they can against a strong threat within the near future. And that includes facing the strongest duelist on campus to help Syrus build his confidence.
Yubel only nodded with a smirk. "Let's see what this best duelist can do."
"I'm with you on it." Both Elize, and Alexis can guess what Jaden is up too from this, and from hearing Yubel confirming this, they are certain of it.
Ulrich362: Well... the strongest duelist on the island... I wonder how strong he is.
