Episode 493: Pillars of Friendship
"Brandon! I'm glad I found you!" Samuel said.
"Sam? What's wrong?" Brandon asked.
"There's an emergency at the temple!" Maria said.
"Oh no!" Brandon exclaimed.
"What kind of emergency are we talking about?" Sora asked.
"A mysterious band of people has shown up and sealed off the temple!" Samuel said.
"A mysterious band of people?" Sora asked.
"That can't be good," Ash said.
"Why would they do this?" May asked.
"The better question is, who would do this," Leaf said.
"Regardless, let's all board the Battle Pyramid and head there right away," Brandon proposed.
"Sir!" Samuel said.
"Brandon, you let us go with you. We'll have a much better shot if we work together," Sora said.
"He's right. We can't just sit by and do nothing," Riku said.
"Right. Okay, let's board the Battle Pyramid and head down there," Brandon said.
"Right!" The group all said.
With that said, the group stepped inside the Battle Pyramid, it prepares to take flight. As they rode in the Battle Pyramid, Sora couldn't help but worry about who it was.
"Who are they and what are they looking for?" Sora asked.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"Young man, I'm sure you know of the legend of the Snowpoint Tempel, do you?" Brandon asked.
"No, but you might as well fill us in," Sora said.
"Alright then. It happened a long time ago. Once afer the volcano violently erupted, the Snowpoint Forest was rich with natural resources and beauty was transformed into a sea of flowing lava. And then, out of a birght blue light, Regigigas appeared. Along with Regice, Registeel, and Regirock, the four of them halted the volcano's eruption and thus saving Snowpoint City from destruction. Later, Regigigas transformed into a stone of light and fell into a deep sleep, while in order to protect Regigigas, the legend says, Regirock, Regice, and Registeel were transformed into three guardian pillars made from the basic elements of the land. Those elements are rock, ice, and steel."
"And the location is the Snowpoint Temple," Brandon concluded.
"Don't tell me that they're after Regigigas," Sora said.
"That's precisely right," Brandon said.
"Man, I told you not to tell me that," Sora said.
"Whoever they are, they're not going to get hold of it," Riku said.
"Yeah, we'll have to stop those jerks where they stand," Davis said.
"We'll have to know who we're up against first," Naminé said.
"She's right," Xion agreed.
"I'll put a view of the temple entrance up on the main monitor," Samuel said. He displayed the temple's entrance to see Hunter J and her henchmen.
"Pokémon Hunter J!" Sora exclaimed.
"Chu!" Pikachu growled.
"Who's Pokémon Hunter J?" Maria asked.
"She's a Pokémon Hunter. Pokémon Hunters steals Pokémon and sells them on the black market," Kairi explained.
"Isn't she the one who stole your Eevee from you, Riku?" Takato asked.
"That's her. I can never forgive her for that," Riku said.
"It doesn't take a genius to figure out she's after Regigigas," Ethan said.
"Ethan's right. Regigigas is more than a legend," Lyra said.
"You're correct. There is substandard evidence that suggests that Regigigas isn't just a legend. That's why I have come here," Brandon said.
"They'll do whatever it takes to capture Regigigas," Lucas said.
"Not unless we stop them in their tracks!" Ash said.
"Better get some info on Regigigas while I'm at it," Sora said, taking out his Rotom Phone and looked up Regigigas on it.
Regigigas, the Colossal Pokémon
Type: Normal
According to legend, Regigigas pulled landmasses together and bound them with rope.
Over to the temple, J's henchmen spotted the Battle Pyramid flying above them.
"It's the Battle Pyramid!" One of J's henchmen exclaimed.
"Someone report to J immediately!" Another henchman said. J was contacted by one of her henchmen.
"Brandon the Pyramid King? This could be a problem. Make sure you keep him at bay!" J ordered.
Several Metang and Skarmory are flying high to the Battle Pyramid's level.
"Here they come!" Lyra said.
"Something tells me they saw us," Lea said.
"Use Flash Cannon!" J's henchmen ordered. The Skarmory all fired Flash Cannon. "Sludge Bomb now!" The Metang fires Sludge Bomb at the Battle Pyramid. Inside the Battle Pyramid, they were holding on.
"Sir! One of the rotors is no longer functioning!" Samuel reported.
"Everyone, hang on! Emergency landing!" Brandon exclaimed. The Battle Pyramid makes a crash landing in the forest. "Is everyone alright?"
"Yeah," everyone said.
"The temple can't wait," Lucas said.
"Lucas is right. Regigigas is going to he in danger unless we cut off J," Chase said.
"Agreed. We'll use mini crafts to get to the temple while Sam stays behind and repairs the motor!" Brandon said.
"Sir!" Samuel said.
"Ketchum, you guys go with Brandon and deal with J, while the rest of us deals with J's thugs," Tai said.
"You sure, Tai?" Sora asked.
"Sure as we'll ever be!" Takuya said.
"Yeah, go take that evil harpy down!" Yolei said.
With that said, the group emerged from inside the Battle Pyramid, spotted by J's henchmen.
"There they are! Prepare for another attack!" One of the henchmen ordered. The Skarmory and Metang prepared to attack.
"Flame! Flamethrower!" Tai ordered. Flame flew and fired a Flamethrower at the Skarmory, hitting them.
"Dragonite! Dragon Pulse!" Davis ordered. Dragonite unleashed a Dragonite unleashed a Dragon Pulse, hitting the Metang. The DigiDestined attacked the henchmen as they sent out Golbat and Crobat to battle beside the Metang and Skarmory. The mini crafts arrived to the temple's entrance.
"Let's go!" Brandon said.
"Right!" Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Roxas, Xion, Lea, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Chase, Elaine, Lucas, Dawn, Wes, Rui, and Michael said, running inside.
Inside of the temple, J has reached the three pillars. The pillars were of rock, steel, and ice, just as the legend said.. Sitting in front of the three pillars is a light blue orb.
"So, these are the three pillars that guards the legendary Regigigas. Ice. Rock. Steel," J said. "The only thing to do is to destroy those three pillars and awaken Regigigas." She took out a Pokéball and threw it. "Salamence, let's go!" Her Salamence came on out. "We need to capture Regigigas, so use Hyper Beam, now!" Salamence fires Hyper Beam right at the pillars of rock and ice, leaving only the pillar of steel left. "That was excellent! Now the steel pillar!" Salamence prepares to fire Hyper Beam.
"Stop!" Brandon called out. She growed when the bunch has arrived. "Stop this at once!" J saw Riku with them and instantly remembered how Riku cut off her arm.
"YOU!" J exclaimed with so much rage.
"I take it that she still remembers you," Michael said.
"You think?" Riku asked.
"You cut off my arm! Because of you, I have to use this mechanical one! And it was because of you I was thrown in prison!" J hissed.
"Wish I could say I was sorry about about the prison part, but that'll be a big fat lie," Riku said.
"Vee," Eevee growled.
"It was because of you and that spiky-headed nuisance that my reputation as a Pokémon Hunter has been stained, and because of you that so many of my clients and customers were arrested, so I'm going to exact my revenge on the both of you, as soon as I get what I came here for," J said as she turned to her Salamence. "Salamence!" J shouted. Salamance fires Hyper Beam at the last pillar.
"Don't do it!" Brandon yelled. The steel was now destroyed. The orb started to glow vioently.
"Now what?" Riku asked.
"Could have Salamence's attack be waking up Regigigas?" Maria asked. J approached the orb.
"I will not allow you to go through with this!" Brandon shouted.
"All you do is stand and watch," J said. The orb kept on glowing. J was getting impatient. "What? Why won't Regigigas awaken? Quick! Use Flamethrower!"
"Don't do it!" Brandon shouted. Salamence fires Flamethrower right at the orb. The orb was glowing red as a red beam of light shoots straight up. Regigigas has awaken. All of Regigigas's eyes all were glowing red.
"Regigigas," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
"Regigigas fires Hyper Beam all around.
"Stop, Regigigas!" Sora pleaded. It was no use. Regigigas was on a rampage.
"Intense rage is making Regigigas go berserk!" Maria said.
"Berserk is right!" Michael said.
"You should thank me. I'll preserve the rage that dwells deep inside of you forever!" J said. She aims her arm cannon at Regigigas, but the colossal Pokémon turns and aims Hyper Beam right at J and Salamence. She withdraw her cannon. "Salamence! Dragon Pulse!" Salamence fires Draon Pulse, but Hyper Beam was way too powerful, and it resulted in an explosion. Regigias kept on firing and firing.
"If these attacks keep up, the whole temple will collapse!" Brandon exclaimed.
"Retreat now!" J ordered. Salamence flew right out.
"We need to get out, too!" Brandon said.
"You don't need to tell us twice!" Wes said.
"Run!" Elaine said.
Regigigas fires Hyper Beam at a wall, causing rocks to fall above them. Brandon took out his three Pokéballs and threw them.
"Let's go!" Brandon shouted. Regirock, Registeel, and Regice all came out and destroyed the falling rocks. The rest of the group ran out as Brandon stood and watched the destruction taking place. The three Regi Pokémon stood before their Trainer. "Regirock, Regice, and Registeel, I need your protection until we get out!" The three Regi Pokémon all nodded.
Outside, J and her Salamnce had arrived.
"Commander J!" A henchman said.
"Move to point C and stand by! I'm going to check on our target once again!" J said.
"Yes, sir!" The henchmen said.
Out of the temple, the Keyblade wielders all rush out before the entrance has collapsed behind them.
"Where's Regigigas?" Sora asked.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"Probably still inside," Brandon said.
"I don't think Regigigas can get out of there," Chase said.
"Wanna bet?" Lea asked.
A blast came from inside the temple as everyone all braced themseves.
Chase chuckled nervously, "Of course, I could be wrong." Regigigas kept figing Hyper Beam. Brandon turned to the Regi trio.
"Regirock, Regice, and Registeel," Brandon said. The Regi trio went off to await instructions.
"What are you going to do?" Sora asked.
"I'm going to calm down that rage by catching Regigigas," Brandon said. "Unleash Hyper Beam, together!" Regirock, Regice, and Registeel all unleashed Hyper Beam, but Regigigas blocked with its own Hyper Beam. "Get up close and personal with Power-Up Punch!" Regirock, Registeel, and Regice all rushed to unleash Power-Up Punch. Regigigas has taken down all three of them with one swing of its mighty arms.
"It took down all three with one hit!" Kairi said.
"Vee," Angel said.
"Even with the three of them, the combined might of those Pokémon isn't enough to bring it down," Rui said.
"I have no choice! Regirock, Registeel, hold down Regigigas!" Brandon intructed. Regirock and Registeel grabbed each one of Regigigas's arms. "Regice, use Ice Beam!" Regice fires Ice Beam and freezes all three of them.
"You froze Regigigas with Ice Beam along with Regirock and Registeel," Riku said.
A good strategy and it worked," Kris said. J is riding on her Salamence, watching the battle.
"Keep it up. As soon as Regigigas is exhaustee from battling all of you that's when Salamence and I will step right in make our capture," J said.
Regigigas broke out of the ice. Everyone all gasped.
"Regice, Zap Cannon!" Brandon ordered. Regice fires Zap Cannon right at Regigigas and paralyzed.
"It felt that," Riku said.
"Registeel, Iron Head! Regirock, Stone Edge!" Brandon ordered. Registeel and Regirock launched their attacks at Regigigas. Brandon took out a Pokéball and prepared to throw it. "And now, to get in this Pokéball!" Just when Brandon was about to throw it, Ariados came and spewed its web. The Keyblade wielders sensed Ariados's thread coming and dodged just in time. Brandon and Maria weren't so forfunate.
"Nice try, J, but not good enough," Sora said.
"I don't care what you do, but I'll capture that Regigigas at all costs! But, I have gained some new Pokémon in the meantime to counter yours!" J said, taking out three new Pokéballs and threw them. "Camerupt, Manectric, Froslass! Go!" Her Pokéballs opened to reveal her newest Pokémon. "These three are perfect for my revenge! Camerupt for Wil-O-Wisp and Earthquake. Manectric for paralysis and its Lightning Rod ability, and Frolass for Confuse Ray and to freeze anyone in my way. And that's what this new team is designed to do."
"Well, they'll try hard!" Sora said, taking out his Pokéballs and threw them. "Empoleon, Torterra, Monferno! Go!" His Pokéballs opened to let out his three Pokémon.
"Camerupt! Earthquake!" J ordered.
"Torterra! Earthquake, too!" Sora ordered. Both Pokémon unleashed an Earthquake, but they cancel each other out.
"Manectric! Use Thunder Wave on Empoleon!" J ordered. Manectric unleashed a Thunder Wave toward the Emperor Pokémon.
"Torterra! Get in front of Empoleon!" Sora called out. The Continent Pokémon moved and got in front of Empoleon and took the hit of Thunder Wave and does nothing to him. J growled.
"Froslass! Freeze them all with Ice Beam!" J ordered. Froslass fired an Ice Beam at her opponents.
"Flamethrower, Monferno!" Sora ordered. Monferno fired a Flamethrower at Froslass's Ice Beam and pushed it back. It takes Froslass down with just one hit. "Empoleon! Use Hydro Pump on Camerupt! Torterra! Use Headlong Rush on Manectric!" Empoleon fired a Hydro Pump on Camerupt as Torterra rammed into Manectric with Headlong Rush. All three of J's Pokémon were defeated.
"What? My newest Pokémon lost to this brat?" J growled.
"You thought you had me, didn't you? I'm glad to burst your bubble to tell you this, but I did a lot of training for occasions like this," Sora said.
"It makes no difference," J said, calling back her three Pokémon. "I still have a prize to claim." She was aiming her mechanical arm at Regigigas. She was about to zap Regigigas as it gave off a red glow. J growled as Regirock, Registeel, and Regice were now under its control.
"What are they doing now?!" Sora asked. Regirock, Registeel, and Regice fire Hyper Beam, Flash Cannon, and Zap Cannon at J. She took the hit from their combo attack and set offwith Regigigas.
"It's just like the legend" Maria said. "Regirock, Regice, and Registeel have all become the three pillars that will protect Regigigas."
"Now, go to point C so we can reconfigure our plan," J ordered. Salamence obeyed and flew toward the spot.
Brandon attempted to call them all back, but he couldn't. Regice fires Zap Cannon at Brandon, so he dodged it.
"Brandon!" Ash said. They see the Regis walking along down the path.
"Regirock, Regice, Registeel! Come back!" Brandon called out.
"There's a town over in that direction," Dawn said.
"And if we don't stop them before they reach it, then it'll be a disaster that will make the six o'clock news!" Lea said.
"How? None of our Pokémon put together won't be enough to take them down! And one of them is already strong enough!" May said.
"We'll think of something, won't we?" Chase asked.
"Whatever it is, we better think of something fast," Wes said.
Over to the Regis, they continued on with their rampage as they blast through the forest. Several of the forest Pokémon were running for their lives, not wanting to get caught in the blast.
Back with the group, Lea summoned his chakrams and used them to cut Brandon and Maria free.
"We're free," Brandon said.
"Thank you," Maria said.
"Your thanks won't mean a thing if those four makes it to the town," Lea said.
"I agree. We must make haste," Brandon said. They make it back to the Battle Pyramid's mini crafts. "What's the Battle Pyramid's status?" Brandon asked.
"I'm going to need a little bit more time until it's full repaired!" Samuel reported.
"We'll get in touch with Regigigas in the air, meanwhile, you make contact with Officer Jenny at once and let her know what's going on!" Brandon instructed.
"Understood!" Samuel acknowledged.
Up ahead, J's hovercraft appeared out of stealth mode as J and her Salamence rode in.
"Master J, we're ready to attack on command," one of the henhmen said.
"Fire at the ground, right beneath them when they appear. Do not damage the merchandise, no matter what," J instructed.
"Sir!" The henchmen all said. The Regis all appear and fire Hyper Beam all around.
"Target, confirmed!" The henhmen on board reported.
"And fire!" J ordered. J's ship fires at the Regis, but they fire Hyper Beam to overpower it. The ship kept on firing at the ground Regis are standing on. Regigigas sinks into the ground. "All right! Liquid adhesive fire!" The ship fires her Liquid adhesive right at the Colossal Pokémon. Regirock, Registeel, and Regice are free from Regigigas's control. "Regigigas is no longer able to move." Regigigas barely moves its hand and fires Hyper Beam at the ship, causing some heavy damage.
"Hyper Beam hit us! Unable to stay airborne!" The henchman reported.
"Get out of Regigigas's firing range!" J ordered. J's ship moves out of the way. "Now prepare to capture Regigigas!"
"Yes, sir!" All of the henchman all said. Regirock, Regice, and Registeel all fire Hyper Beam. J avoids them to capture Regigigas. "Try this!" J fres her cannon at it, but Regirock took the hit, turning it into a gold statue. J growled. They all arrive right on time.
"Regirock, no!" Brandon gasped.
"Get out of my way!" J demanded. J fires again, but it's Registeel that takes the hit. She tries again and struck Regice instead.
"What's up with Regigigas?" Sora asked.
"Regigigas is getting less angry," Maria said.
"It must have something to do with how Regirock, Regice, and Registeel sacrificed themselves to help it!" Kairi guessed.
"Their true intentions were to save Regigigas," Brandon said.
"I'm afraid it's all over!" J said.
"Alright, young man! Take the controls!" Brandon said, standing up.
"What do you mean take the controls?" Sora asked. He got his answer when Brandon jumped off. "Brandon!" J fired at Regigigas and he takes the hit instead, turning him into a gold statue, much to everyone's shock.
"BRANDON!" The group exclaimed in horror.
"You monster!" Kairi snarled.
The Keyblade wielders summoned their Keyblades and they each cast a different spell. Salamence fired a Dragon Pulse, cancelling them out. J saw the Keyblades in their hands.
"So, you have those key-shaped weapons as well! I didn't realize it was a trend!" J said.
"More of a trend than you think, J! We won't let you take Regigigas without a fight!" Sora said.
"You think you can defeat me with those?" J asked.
"I know we can! You might as well ask Count Ernesh when he hired you!" Riku said.
"I don't know what you're talking about," J said.
"Then, I'm the one who's gonna spell it out for you. You were just a pawn to him, nothing else," Riku said.
"I'm no one's pawn!" J argued.
"Yeah, that's what they all say. The real reason he hired you is because of me. He wanted you to take my Eevee from me and to him just so he can have me kill you," Riku said.
"You're lying," J scoffed.
"Am I? Here's another one for you, J. You're nothing to Count Ernesh. Even if you were successful in delivering my Eevee over to him, then me slicing off your arm would've been a little cut compared to the one he would've given you! You signed your life away from the moment you agreed to his contract. Your heart is beyond any hope of salvation because of the greed it gives off like a bad stink," Riku said.
"Shut your mouth!" J snapped, firing at Riku. He delfected it.
"Why? Don't like what I'm saying? Sounds to me you should had this talk a long time ago. Sure, Sora and I might be the reason why your business went under, but you were the reason I almost became someone I didn't know or recognize. On the plus side, you're also the reason I was given a wake-up call I know I'll never forget. And that taught me that I can have failures and successes thrown at me, and I can become a much stronger person because of failure and success. But you wouldn't know any of that if those things slapped you in the face," Riku said.
"Is there a point in your senseless prattling?" J asked.
"Yeah, but I doubt you'd get it, because all you care about is making a profit. Stealing someone else's Pokémon all for a shiny coin isn't exactly a good career choice. You would have a better shot at being a rodeo clown," Riku said. J was getting angrier at Riku's words. "At least it's better being a clown rather than being a puppet; especially when you're too stupid to realize that you're being used by Count Ernesh, the same Count Ernesh who sees you as a nothing."
"I AM NOT NOTHING!" J roared. "SALAMENCE! HYPER BEAM!" Salamence fired a Hyper Beam right at them. Just when they were about to cast a powerful reflect spell, Regigigas fired a Hyper Beam, cancelling out Salamence's Hyper Beam and sends them back. J growled.
"Master J!" One of the henchmen called out. "The client has withdrawn their request. They said you are no longer useful to them."
"What?! No longer useful? Spineless fools!" J angrily exclaimed.
"Sounds like you lost yourself another customer," Riku said.
"Don't push it," J said. She made contact with the aircraft. "Retreat!" She took one last look at the group. "This is your final warning! Stay out of my way or else!"
Salamence flew off with J and heads for the aircraft. Everyone dismissed their Keyblades as the DigiDestined rushed back and they saw them as gold statues.
"What happened to them?" Jeri asked.
"Hunter J happened to them. She was trying to zap Regigigas and they turned to statues. They sacrificed themselves to protect it," Sora said.
"This is horrible," Kari said.
"What a witch," Takato said.
"Char," Guil said.
"Isn't there a way to help them?" Dawn asked.
"Without the dials, they're stuck like this," Riku said. Regigigas approached them. Maria went up to Regigigas as it approached.
"Regigigas, forgive us please! I'm so sorry we weren't able to protect your slumber! But please, they all did their best to save you, so save them! They honestly couldn't have tried any harder to help you! I swear it!" Maria said. Regigigas looked right at Maria. "Please help, Regigigas." The Colossal Pokémon agreed to help and assured her it will help them. "Thank you, Regigigas! Quick, everyone, please stand back!" Not needing to be told a second time, the group moved out of the way as Regigigas unleashed a blue energy from its body.
"What's it doing?" Ryo asked.
"I think it's Hidden Power," Ethan said.
"Yeah, but it isn't being used as an attack," Matt said.
And Matt was right, because Brandon and the Regis were fully restored to their original state.
"Brandon!" Everyone said.
"It's a miracle!" Xion said.
"Where's Regigigas?!" Brandon asked.
"It's safe," Kairi said. Regigigas nodded. Brandon approached the Colossal Pokémon and smiled.
"And I couldn't be happier to see it being fine!" Brandon said.
"Thanks to you, Brandon, and the kind assistance of all of your Pokémon, Regigigas has returned to its gentle and normal self," Maria said.
"Regigigas, I'm asking one thing, that you'll trust your future to me!" Brandon said. Regigigas nodded as it reverts back into a blue orb like before. Brandon catches it. Regigigas is returned to the temple.
"What will you do now, Brandon?" Naminé asked.
"I'm going to rebuild this temple, so Regigigas's slumber will never be disturbed again. And just like the legend states, I will have Regirock, Regice, and Registeel become the three guardian pillars that will protect Regigigas forever," Brandon said.
"I guess it's all for the best," Roxas said.
"Indeed. Maria, will you work together with me to protect Regigigas's slumber?" Brandon asked.
"I would be honored to," Maria said.
"And it looks like Regigigas will be in for a very long sleep," Davis said.
"And you can bet your goggles they'll make sure it stays that way, Davis," Riku said.
Thanks to a magnificent effort by Brandon, his Pokémon and Sora, Kairi, and their friends the legendary Regigigas is safe to slumber once more...forever. And the journey continues.
And now, before we end it right here for now, I thought I should share that the fight against Team Galactic is going to come pretty soon, so the rescue of Azelf, Mesprit, and Uxie will be accomplished, but not without some interferences. And that'll come up as we press on.
