Hi there. TheBlackKid here. And this is a…different kind of update. One regarding any and all future activities on this site.
To put it bluntly…as of 4/17/2025, I will no longer be posting stories or chapters on FanFiction. This may come as a shock to some people, but I have my reasons.
The truth is…this site has gone completely downhill. Too many issues have made the experience here worse and worse and worse…to the point where I'm just done.
Specifically, two MAJOR issues. The first was the massive blackout back in 2023. I wasn't getting any emails, notifications, PMs, and the ability to see any and all views was nonexistent. And it took nearly 4 MONTHS for the site to fix everything! With no updates on the progress whatsoever! That was when I started questioning writing on this site.
What fully convinced me is the second and current issue going on with the site: the constant messages I get from these "concept artist" bots that just litter my inbox. You turn down one and 3 more appear THAT VERY SAME DAY! To the point where ignoring and blocking don't work anymore!
Now…there's a possibility that there are ACTUAL people who want to make art based on my stories…and I truly appreciate that you admire them that much to consider it…but when you start getting multiple requests in the same day within a 6-month time period, any and all interest begins to go right out the window.
This decision does come with regrets, though. All of the incomplete stories on here will remain incomplete. And I have no intention of coming back and finishing them once completed.
I'll miss this site dearly, too. I've been here since 2018 and I've made some great friends, gained a few fans, and definitely improved my writing skills over the years.
Does this mean I'm quitting writing fanfiction? Absolutely not! I will be fully migrating to AO3 from this point onward. Transferring any completed stories yet to be posted there and continuing the current active ones, too. With AO3 being my main fanfiction site from now on.
With all of that said, thank you all so much for accepting me on this site for all these years. It truly meant a lot that so many of you enjoyed my stories…and looked forward to whatever I came up with next. I keep a positive mind knowing those facts.
And so, for one last time, thank you all so much. See you on AO3!
