Chapter Twenty-Three: The Truth About Kari

The group stood in stunned silence outside the abandoned building. Alex's heart pounded as the light from the Book of Darkness faded, and a new realization settled over him.

"It's been pointing to you all along," Alex said, turning to Kari.

Kari blinked in confusion. "What are you talking about?"

Alex held up the book. Its pages glowed faintly again, forming an image of Kari holding a Digivice, surrounded by light. The energy was unmistakable.

"You're the eighth child," Alex said firmly.

A Moment of Clarity

Kari stared at Alex, her face a mix of shock and disbelief. "But... I thought I was just helping you and the others. I didn't think—"

Gatomon stepped forward, her eyes wide. "It all makes sense now. I've felt a connection to you ever since we first met, Kari. That's why I was drawn to your world."

"You've had the heart of a DigiDestined all along," Alex said gently. "We just didn't realize it."

Gatomon's eyes sparkled. "With your crest and Digivice, I can Digivolve further when we need to fight Myotismon."

Kari looked at the group, her determination growing. "If I'm the eighth child, then I'm ready to fight. I won't let Myotismon hurt anyone else."

The group returned to the others to share the news. Izzy was already working on a plan to protect Kari while searching for Myotismon's hideout.
