I was dealing with a lot of burnout writing all last year and just couldn't get any energy or interest writing for any of my stories that much, which is why it took me so long. Chapter 61: God vs God!
Capsule Corp…
Goku quickly separated away from Beerus before spinning around and kicking at the god's head. But much to the Saiyan's surprise, his speed was dramatically faster than he'd ever seen it, causing him to overcompensate and miss his target, which also caused his body to fly off into the sky.
"WAAAaaaa!" Goku screamed until he struggled to regain his composure as he burst through the clouds.
"C-Come on…" Goku grunted as he managed to stop himself.
"Whew. I didn't think that would happen." Goku sighed as he inspected himself.
"But this power is far greater than I imagined," Goku noted before the hairs on the back of his neck stood up.
Ducking down, Goku just managed to dodge an attack by Beerus, who spun around and whipped Goku's head with his tail. An attack that would have knocked Goku clean out before was nothing more than a minor annoyance, now making the Saiyan smirk.
Because that means he can finally fight with Beerus all out. Wiping his mouth, Goku shot back toward Beerus once again at a violently high speed. But once again, he blew past Beerus, who effortlessly dodged Goku's attack.
However, this time, Goku spun around and threw a large ball of Ki at Beerus's back, knocking the god downward. Smirking, Goku charged down after Beerus at lightning speed, pushing any cloud across the world as he shot down.
But his uncontrollable speed made him an easy target for Beerus as the god easily regained his composure and used Goku's speed against him as he held out his fist allowing Goku to slam into it himself.
"YOW!" Goku cried as he flipped backward, clutching his face.
"You know, considering how you were in our previous fight, I'm surprised you're having such trouble adjusting to your new power," Beerus commented as he stifled a yawn.
"And here I heard you Saiyans were quick learners for combat." Beerus snickered as Goku smiled.
"Yeah, I'll admit I got a little excited about this power boost. But I'm ready now." Goku declared as Beerus scratched his ear.
"Is that so?" Beerus questioned as Goku shot toward him with the same speed as before.
Beerus hummed in annoyance as he watched Goku charge forward the same as before. The god simply yawned as he placed himself in a lounging position, placing one of his feet out for Goku to hit, only for the Saiyan to suddenly disappear before he made collision with the god.
A surprised Beerus questioned what was going on until Goku reappeared above him, crashing into the god's stomach with both of his feet. The attack sent Beerus hurtling toward the ground, crashing into a mountain as it crumbled on top of him.
Goku smirked at the result of his successful attack, only for it to disappear once a large sphere of dark purple ki eviscerated the crumbled remains of the mountain. Below, Beerus smiled wickedly as he threw the sphere into the sky towards Goku.
The Saiyan God moved quickly to avoid the attack, but the sphere suddenly burst, converting itself into several smaller variants that flew toward Goku at a rapid speed. Shocked, Goku flew away as the spheres flew after him, keeping up with his newfound speed.
"Grr…Guess I'm going to have to try speeding up." Goku noted, cracking a small smile as he burst off into the distance at an even greater speed, with the spheres keeping pace behind him.
"You won't be escaping from those!" Beerus cackled as he watched from a distance.
"Think so, huh?" Goku replied as he placed his fingers against his forehead.
As soon as his fingertips pressed against his head, Goku disappeared with the spheres blowing past where he had once been. This time, Beerus was ready as Goku appeared behind him, kicking at the god's head.
His attack didn't connect with Beerus, though, as the god blocked with his tail, wrapping it around Goku's leg before spinning around and tossing Goku into the ground, crashing into the ruins of the mountain he had destroyed.
Then, the spheres Beerus had created earlier shot down and landed on top of Goku who fired off several balls of ki to intercept Beerus's own attack. This succeeded as most exploded harmlessly above him, but many moved around and slammed into Goku, resulting in a large explosion.
Smoke shot into the air as Beerus watched the view from above in anticipation of Goku's next move. And he wasn't disappointed as a red firey aura blew the smoke away, revealing a relatively unfazed Goku who dusted off his tattered clothes.
"Not bad," Beerus smirked as Goku flew up and kicked at Beerus's chin.
The god simply caught Goku's foot, but the Saiyan countered by spinning around and punching Beerus in the gut. This caused the god to double over as Goku spun back around to slam his elbow into Beerus's face.
Beerus smacked Goku's arm away, allowing him to land a devastating blow to Goku's stomach, causing him to spit up some blood. But that wasn't going to take the Saiyan down as created a small ball of Ki and threw it toward Beerus, who disappeared from view.
"Huh?!" Goku gasped before ducking forward, avoiding an attack by Beerus from behind.
Though Beerus's attack had missed that didn't stop the god from continuing with another attack as he joined his hands and slammed them against Goku's head. This caused Goku to flip forward before wrapping his legs around Beerus's neck and throwing him toward the ground.
Beerus easily recovered from the attack as he turned to face Goku, as the Saiyan slammed his fist into Beerus's face, sending him flying back toward the ground. In response, Beerus shot back into the sky, returning Goku's attack by hitting the Saiyan further into the sky.
The two clashed several times in the sky, shaking the planet below as their clashing energy cascaded throughout the area. Their energy was so potent that even those who couldn't sense any kind of energy were able to feel it.
"They went too far. Now we can't even see anything!" Bulma complained, crossing her arms as she and several of the other attendees of the party struggled to watch the fight.
"Are you that interested in the battle?" Piccolo inquired as Bulma turned toward him.
"Of course! That Beerus jerk had the nerve to crash my party and try to kill me! Then he had the nerve to hurt Vegeta! I want to see Goku kick his butt!" Bulma responded as Whis walked forward.
"Well, if you want, I can provide a better view," Whis revealed as he tapped his staff against the ground, creating a large screen in front of everyone that displayed the fight between Goku and Beerus.
"I believe this will allow you to view the fight better." Whis smiled before trying more food on the buffet.
"That's better," Bulma commented as she and everyone else watched the screen.
"Ugh…seeing Goku as this Super Saiyan God is odd. First blonde, now red." Chi-Chi sighed, shaking her head.
"Though I wouldn't mind him looking that young again. It reminds me of when we first got married." Chi-Chi smiled as she reminisced on her and Goku's early years.
"Wow, they're moving so fast!" Scarlet gasped, surprised at the vast speed demonstrated by Goku and Beerus.
"Grrr…I wish we could have gotten the chance to fight! It's not fair!" Trunks complained, waving his arms as Scarlet looked at him deadpanned.
"What could you do that our dads couldn't?" Scarlet questioned as Trunks crossed his arms.
"Goten and I could have fused. Then we would have totally trounced that annoying cat!" Trunks declared as Goten nodded.
"Yeah, the mighty Gotenks would have made quick work of him!" Goten agreed as the two high-fived.
"I don't see it," Scarlet commented, causing Trunks to shudder.
"Well, at least I can fight him, unlike you, who can't even go Super Saiyan!" Trunks argued, causing Scarlet to go red.
"Just you wait! When I go Super Saiyan, I'll be stronger than you!" Scarlet shouted as she kicked Trunks in the shin.
"Hey!" Trunks spat as he chopped Scarlet's head.
"Ow!" Scarlet cried as she pulled Trunk's ears.
"Both of you knock it off!" Jason demanded from above, where he and Vegeta floated, causing the two children to freeze.
"Sorry, Dad." Scarlet apologized as Trunks scratched his head.
"Sorry, sir." Trunks agreed as he bowed his head.
Jason sighed as he turned his attention back toward the direction of Goku's battle. He and Vegeta were the only ones to forgo watching the screen, instead opting to watch with their own eyes to gauge the battle. Though, it was hard even for them to follow even after being partially healed by Dende, who didn't have enough energy to bring everyone back to one hundred percent.
"You should've let them be. It would be good for them." Vegeta chuckled as Jason crossed his arms.
"I think we both know that's untrue," Jason replied as Vegeta rolled his eyes.
"So, how do you think Goku's doing?" Jason inquired as Vegeta hummed.
"He's definitely holding up better than the rest of us were…but he's still not using this god power to its fullest," Vegeta responded as Jason nodded.
"Agreed. It's almost like he's playing…which isn't surprising for Goku, but considering the circumstances, I wish he didn't do it." Jason replied as Vegeta grunted.
"That's Kakarot for you, but it seems that Beerus is playing into his game," Vegeta commented as he clenched his fists.
"This fight is only just beginning," Vegeta stated as another shockwave rocked past them.
"I just hope he can beat Beerus before he reaches the time limit of the power." Jason sighed as he focused on the battle.
Another shockwave was created by the collision of Goku and Beerus's fists as the two pulled away before clashing fists once more. This time, Goku grabbed Beerus's hand and pulled the god closer to knee Beerus in the gut.
He then grabbed onto Beerus's ears pulling them up and screaming as loud as he could in them to disorientate the god. But it only angered the god as he returned the favor by grabbing Goku's ear and howling into it.
Smacking Beerus's hands away, Goku slammed his head against Beerus's own, knocking Beerus back allowing Goku to spin around and kick Beerus in his back. In retaliation, Beerus wrapped his tail around Goku's leg before creating another sphere of destruction.
Beerus threw the Saiyan into the sky, giving him the opportunity to throw the sphere at Goku, who outstretched his hands to catch it. However, even in his god form, touching the sphere burned Goku's skin as he struggled to push the sphere back.
Shouting out, Goku released more of the power bestowed upon him, pushing the sphere back before launching it at Beerus. The god effortlessly sent the sphere back at Goku, who placed his hands together and began to charge up energy.
"Kamehame…" Goku began before disappearing as the sphere flew by where he was.
"Hmmm…" Beerus hummed as Goku appeared behind him.
"HA!" Goku shouted as he fired off the Kamehameha point blank into Beerus's back sending him hurtling toward the sphere of destruction.
Gritting his teeth, Beerus split his sphere in two, pushing it out of the way before sending it rocketing down toward Goku. This forced Goku to stop his Kamehameha to avoid the spheres as they slammed together, causing a large explosion.
Before the smoke really cleared, Beerus shot through and slammed into Goku, sending the Saiyan rocketing into the ground. Goku crashed through the ground into a large cavern landing into a large pool of water.
As Goku landed, Beerus eviscerated the ceiling, shooting down toward the floating Goku, who dove underwater. Chasing after him, Beerus dove into the water, but before he could do anything, Goku exploded with energy, forcing the water aside at such speed that Beerus was momentarily blinded.
Taking this chance, Goku flew in and planted both of his feet into Beerus's face, sending the god into a nearby pillar of rock. He quickly followed it by raising his hands into the air, creating a Kienzan in each one before throwing the two discs at Beerus.
The God easily avoided the attack, moving out of the way as each passed by, but that only allowed Goku to fly in for another attack. This time, Beerus was ready for it as he caught Goku's arm and threw him into a nearby pillar.
As the pillar collapsed on top of Goku, the Saiyan fired off a large barrage of ki at an unfazed Beerus, who knocked any that got near him. That is until the two Kienzan Goku had thrown earlier came speeding in from behind.
Having this unexpected attack come at him, Beerus moved just out of the way as one of the discs grazed his cheeks, drawing blood. When the discs flew toward Goku, the Saiyan slowed them down to grab hold of them before throwing them right back at Beerus.
With a smirk growing on his face Beerus created his own discs of ki and threw them at the Kienzan Goku had tossed. Both attacks collided, but Beerus's ate through Goku's and continued onward toward the Saiyan.
Crossing his arms, Goku created a small barrier around his body before expanding it out rapidly to block Beerus's attack as they dug through his barrier. Letting out a loud scream, Goku pushed the discs away before rushing toward Beerus.
Throwing a fist at Beerus's face, the god attempted to catch Goku's fist with his hand, only for the attack to push back his hand and hit the god in the face. Taking advantage of the god's shock, Goku planted his fist against Beeru's chin, knocking the god upward.
Goku flew after him and grabbed onto the god's legs pulling him down and throwing him into the water. The Saiyan followed this up with a quick yet strong Kamehameha, blasting the water away as it rained down on Beerus.
"Impressive!" Beerus exclaimed as he pushed back Goku's Kamehameha with a large firey ball of ki.
"I definitely chose correctly for you to become the Super Saiyan God," Beerus smirked as he rose to Goku's level.
"I'm glad too. It's not every day you get to get a new power like this!" Goku replied as he punched his palm.
"Good to hear but you better put your all in because I'm done being easy on you!" Beerus declared as his body was surrounded by energy.
"Sounds good to me!" Goku exclaimed as he powered up surrounding himself with red flames.
The two shot toward one another and clashed, causing the cavern to crumble around them as they exchanged blows. Beerus kicked at Goku's head as the Saiyan kneed the god in the gut, but both attacks were caught before they could land and no sooner did they throw another attack.
This exchange ended when Beerus whipped a ball of ki into Goku, knocking him backward. Beerus followed this up by creating a large array of ki spheres and sending it at the falling Goku. Gritting his teeth, Goku reorientated himself before shooting off back toward Beerus.
He weaved his way through the spheres as they crashed into the wall and water below, but others followed him and attempted to close in on him. But Goku persisted until he slammed into Beerus, who grabbed onto Goku's head before whipping the Saiyan with his tail.
Goku was sent flying down, but he fired off a Kamehameha to propel himself back up towards Beerus. When the god saw this, he fired off several small beams at Goku, who continued to use his Kamehameha to gain momentum.
Upon seeing the beams heading his way, Goku bent his Kamehameha to change direction and avoid the attack, but it didn't faze Beerus as he easily caught Goku, hitting him in the chest. But before Goku could fall back down, his Kamehameha erupted from the water, shooting up and eclipsing Beerus.
"Weren't focused on what I was doing with my Kamehameha, were you?" Goku snickered as he stopped pouring energy into his attack.
"I'll not do that again," Beerus replied as he shot down toward Goku.
The Saiyan flew off before Beerus could reach him, weaving through the many rock pillars that still stood around them. Giving chase, Beerus closely followed Goku, who fired off beam after beam of ki, missing Beerus while breaking the remaining pillars apart.
Beerus took note of that as he watched the cavern break apart around them, and, as one would expect, the cavern began to collapse on top of Beerus. Looking disappointed, Beerus easily pushed the falling debris away with his sheer power, leaving him unharmed.
That is until Goku came shooting in, planting his fist into Beerus's stomach, causing the god to cough up some spit as he was sent flying into a nearby wall. Snickering at his successful maneuver, Goku flew after Beerus before spinning around to gain momentum as he slammed his foot into Beerus's gut, pushing him further into the wall.
With a thunderous roar, Goku threw punch after punch at Beerus, slamming his fists against the god's body without mercy. When he finished, Goku flew backward, gaining a bit of distance between himself and Beerus before cupping his hands together and firing off a Kamehameha.
"HAAA!" Goku screamed as he increased the intensity of his attack.
However, he was soon taken aback as his Kamehameha was slowly pushed back as a large ball of dark Ki began to grown between the beam and Beerus. With his own roar, Beerus began to push the ball against Goku's attack, forcing Goku to pour more power into it.
The two struggled over supremacy on the other with neither giving an inch. It wasn't until Goku pulled back his arms, returning the energy of his Kamehameha to his palms, did the tides change. Beerus's ball of Ki rocketed forward at Goku, who rushed in with his right arm raised and his hand still covered in the energy of his Kamehameha.
Using that energy, he thrust his fist into the ball, causing it to explode upon impact, allowing Goku to fly forward and slam his left fist into Beerus, using the remaining energy to fire off a blast of Ki, sending Beerus hurtling through the earth.
As the dust settled, Goku snickered, looking at his handiwork only for his smile to disappear when Beerus came rocketing back and tackled Goku into the water below. They skipped over the water like stones before separating and began trading blows.
Beerus threw a punch at Goku's face, only for the Saiyan to dodge the attack and grab onto the god's arm before spinning around Beerus and throwing the back of his hand at his head. But that attack was swiftly stopped by Beerus, who used his tail to block it before wrapping it around Goku's arm.
Spinning around Beerus threw Goku into the water before raising his hand into the air to create another dark ball of Ki before throwing it toward Goku. The Saiyan attempted to fly away as the water vaporized around him.
Upon seeing this, Beerus frowned before getting an idea. With a sinister snicker, he flew out of the cavern before splitting his ball of Ki into several smaller balls, sending them crashing through the cavern causing what little that remained to collapse down.
Then the god proceeded to use his Ki to force the debris to gather around and smother Goku, pushing him deeper into the water as the rock around him pinned him against the ground. Gritting his teeth, Goku pushed through the rock before placing his fingers against his forehead.
Smirking, Beerus turned around, anticipating Goku's teleportation as the Saiyan appeared before the god, kicking at the god's head only for it to be caught by Beerus, who smirked at Goku's efforts. In response, Goku fired off a blast of Ki at Beerus's head, forcing the god to release his leg.
"Alright! I think I'm getting the hang of this power. Let's go all out!" Goku exclaimed as he exploded with power.
Tearing off his torn top, Goku rocketed forward and clashed with Beerus, who returned the strike with force as the two climbed into the sky. They climbed higher and higher until the blue sky turned black, and the stars surrounded them as they entered the upper atmosphere.
Spinning around, Goku kicked at Beerus, who raised his arm to catch Goku's kick only for it never to come as Goku disappeared from view. Beerus ducked back as Goku appeared above him, attempting to kick him back down toward the Earth.
Before Beerus could counter Goku's attack, Goku disappeared once more, appearing behind the god as he threw a punch. As Goku's punch grew closer to Beerus, the god attempted to wrap his tail around Goku's arm, only for Goku to disappear once more.
"RIGHT HERE!" Goku shouted as he slammed his elbow into Beerus's face.
The attack caused Beerus to rear back as Goku kneed Beerus in the gut, causing the god to double over as Goku joined his hands and slammed them into the back of Beerus's head. Opening his hands, Goku fired off a point-blank blast on Beerus.
Beerus was sent spiraling away as Goku followed closely, landing another blow on Beerus, who was sent further out only for the god to rocket back and knock Goku away with a swift blow to the Saiyan's head.
Not leaving an attack unmatched, Goku created a ball of red Ki that he hurled at Beerus, who easily moved out of the way as he charged at Goku. Raising his arms, the Saiyan defended himself from Beerus's next attack before outstretching his arms to push Beerus back, allowing him to kick the god in the head.
However, Beerus responded by thrusting both of his fists into Goku's stomach, causing the Saiyan to cough up some blood before Beerus joined his hands and slammed them into Goku's chin, sending Goku upward.
Quickly stopping his momentum, Goku fired back toward Beerus, slamming his head into Beerus's own. Grabbing onto Beerus's face, Goku pulled it into his knee, only for the god to place his hand between himself and Goku's knee, pushing off it to propel himself up.
Flying over Goku, the god threw out his arm, creating a small shockwave that sent Goku away. Snickering, Beerus raised both of his hands and fired off several small beams of Ki at Goku, causing the Saiyan to recoil in pain.
While Goku was recoiling from the pain, Beerus raised a finger into the air, creating a large firey ball of Ki. Once the ball was big enough to his liking, Beerus flung it down at Goku, who watched as the ball crept closer toward him.
Gathering energy, Goku held out his palms creating a small ball as he waited for Beerus's attack to grow closer to him. Closing his eyes, Goku focused on the energy he gathered around his palms, as well as the energy of an attack he had thrown earlier.
Just as Beerus's attack was about to hit Goku, the ball of Ki he had thrown at the god earlier returned, slamming into Beerus's attack and knocking it off course. The moment it was sent off, Goku released his own attack, firing off a large blast of Ki that eclipsed Beerus.
With a guttural yell, Goku poured as much energy into his attack as he could, attempting to finish this battle once and for all. But his attention was taken away when he noticed Beerus's ball of Ki was flying back toward him, forcing the Saiyan to stop his attack abruptly to avoid it.
That only resulted in giving Beerus the chance to retaliate against Goku as the god shot down and slammed into Goku who had barely enough time to react. Goku was sent flying off as Beerus sent his ball of Kit after Goku.
Crossing his arms, Goku took the brunt of the attack as it hit him, doing his best to avoid being pushed back down toward the surface of the earth. Gritting his teeth, Goku pushed back against the ball with all his might before digging his fingers into the ball and splitting it apart, leaving Goku panting for breath.
"Well, well, how impressive," Beerus commented as he slowly descended toward Goku.
"But is that all you have to offer?" Beerus inquired as Goku smirked.
"No way. I'm just getting started!" Goku declared, making Beerus smile as the Saiyan punched at the god.
But as Beerus dodged the attack, Goku felt his body grow a little heavier as the glow of the Super Saiyan God flickered. Shocked, Goku recoiled as he looked at himself, surprised as he flickered in and out of the Super Saiyan God state.
"Ugh…what…?!" Goku gasped as he looked at his body before remembering what Shenron had told him.
"The ritual states that if five Super Saiyans of pure heart give their energy to a sixth Saiyan, that Saiyan will transcend into a Super Saiyan God for a short time."
"…only to fail due to the power leaving him upon a time limit running out."
"No…I'm reaching the time limit!" Goku cried as Beerus raised a brow.
"Oh? It seems like you're reaching your limit with that power. Shame, and here I was about to get serious." Beerus commented as he scratched his ear.
"If that's all you've got to offer, I suppose I should just end this fight and destroy this planet already," Beerus muttered as Goku clenched his fists.
"Don't…DON'T COUNT ME OUT YET!" Goku shouted as he exploded with energy.
Even if the power wasn't going to last much longer, Goku was going to hold onto it for as long as possible if it meant stopping Beerus from destroying the Earth. Rocketing toward Beerus, Goku threw a punch once more as Beerus matched it, causing a large shockwave that resounded far beyond the solar system.
Opening his palm, Goku grabbed onto Beerus's fist to pull the god in, allowing Goku to plant his foot into Beerus's chest. The god quickly retaliated by grabbing onto Goku's leg before spinning around and throwing the Saiyan away.
Before Goku could go too far, though, Beerus appeared in his tracks and raised his hand, flicking the Saiyan in the opposite direction. Undeterred, Goku readjusted his body, preparing himself for Beerus's next attack.
That came quickly as Beerus appeared behind Goku and whipped at the Saiyan's head with his tail. Goku reacted quickly, grabbing onto Beerus's tail before it could strike him, and before Beerus could react, Goku bit his tail.
"AAAHHHH!" Beerus screamed as he clutched his tail in pain.
"What the hell is wrong…" Beerus began, only for his question to be silenced by Goku as he slammed his fist against Beerus's face.
Having no time to waste, Goku continued to attack Beerus, needing to make the most of the time he had left in his god form. But Beerus was not one to allow himself to be put on the back foot Beerus countered Goku's attack, stopping Goku from pressing forward.
Gritting his teeth, Goku pulled his arms back and thrust them back toward Beerus, releasing a strong kiai, pushing Beerus back, allowing Goku to fire off several beams of Ki at Beerus, who deflected them all.
Upon realizing this, Goku used Instant Transmission to appear behind Beerus, but the god was easily able to block the attack, forcing Goku to improvise as he slammed his head against Beerus's own before slamming his fists against both sides of the god's head.
The Saiyan then proceeded to grab both of Beerus's ears and hurled the god toward the Earth below. Shooting down like a meteor, Goku held out both of his fists as he crashed into Beerus's stomach as they collided with the ground below.
Slowly picking himself up, Goku dusted himself off as he did his best not to fall over as the dust settled around the crater his attack created. Taking a few short breaths, Goku smirked as he wiped his mouth.
"How was that?" Goku questioned before the smirk fell from his face as Beerus picked himself up.
"Not bad. But it seems the fun is over." Beerus muttered as he pushed the dust away with a flick of his finger, revealing Goku once again in his base form, having lost the remaining power of the Super Saiyan God state.
"That was entertaining for a while, but since that's all you've got, I'll be finishing you off…" Beerus stated as he extended his arm and ripped several chunks of rock from the Earth with his power before encasing Goku inside them, slowly crushing the Saiyan.
"Then I'll destroy this planet…though I might enjoy some more food first." Beerus added, whispering that last part.
"N-No…." Goku muttered as he pushed against the rock surrounding him, which caused Beerus to raise a brow.
"I…" Goku hissed as he began to emit a golden glow.
"I…I…!" Goku growled as he cracked the rock around him.
"I WILL NOT LET YOU DESTROY MY WORLD!"
Goku's declaration resulted in his transformation into a Super Saiyan, destroying the rock Beerus had surrounded him. Upon seeing this transformation, Beerus smiled as Goku lept toward the god, who snickered at the sight.
"This form? Really? Even in that long-haired form, you didn't…" Beerus began before being abruptly silenced when Goku's fist connected with his face sending him flying backward.
The strength of the attack surprised Beerus, but it only caused him to grin from ear to ear as he composed himself and flew back towards Goku. Both fighters flew into the sky, reigniting their clash as Goku, even without the power of Super Saiyan God, managed to keep up with Beerus.

Back at the Brief's compound, everyone was shocked at the current state of the battle, especially Jason and Vegeta, who looked shocked at Goku's ability to still keep up with the god even without the power of Super Saiyan God.
"Is this bad or good?" Jason wondered as he watched Goku fight.
"It doesn't seem that Kakarot is out of the count, so that's yet to be seen," Vegeta noted as below, Piccolo watched the battle nervous.
"Even so, he's just a Super Saiyan now. We don't know how much longer he can last." Piccolo pointed out as Gohan stepped forward.
"Dad's not out of the count yet, and I know that he won't go down easily." Gohan reminded as Vegeta turned toward Jason.
"If things go bad, are you able to use Instant Transmission?" Vegeta inquired as Jason slowly nodded.
"I should be. But let's hope it doesn't come to that." Jason responded as he gripped his arm.
"Come on, Goku…fight!" Jason insisted as the battle between Goku and Beerus reignited.
The two continued to rise into the sky, clashing each and every chance they got. But as they did, Goku noticed how much faster Beerus had gotten. No, it was more accurate to say that he had gotten slower due to losing the power of Super Saiyan God. Though he seemed to still be able to keep up with Beerus for the moment, perhaps there was still a chance.
After all, he still felt a spark of power within him. So Goku decided to use everything at his disposal against Beerus. Using Instant Transmission to increase the speed of his attacks, Goku circled around Beerus, taking every opportunity to land an attack. Yet that wasn't enough, as half of his attacks were being blocked by Beerus, and that was only increasing with time.
"These tricks are getting old!" Beerus shouted as he fired off several balls of Ki all around himself, leaving Goku no place to go.
Closing his eyes, Goku surrounded his body with energy, remembering the shield technique he had learned to infiltrate Buu years prior. When the first ball approached Goku, the Saiyan thrust out his hand, deflecting the first ball before moving on to the second and the third.
Using this strategy, Goku flew toward Beerus, eventually getting close enough to attack the god, who ended his flurry of blasts to block Goku's punch. But having expected this, Goku grabbed onto Beerus's arm using it to spin himself over Beerus and slam his knee onto the God's head.
Beerus's head was knocked down as Goku released his grip on Beerus's arm and blasted Beerus in the face with Ki. The god retaliated by whipping his tail into Goku, causing the Saiyan to cough up blood before slamming his fist into Goku's stomach.
The attack threatened to send Goku flying away, but the Saiyan simply stopped his momentum using all his strength before slamming back into Beerus, and before the god could make a counter, Goku placed his hands before his face.
"SOLAR FLARE!" Goku shouted as he blinded Beerus with a flash of light.
Capitalizing on that move, Goku followed up by throwing Beerus back upward before flying up and kicking Beerus in the chest. After that, he flipped over the god and kicked Beerus back down toward the ground.
However, Beerus spun himself around before clapping his hands together, creating a large shockwave that sent Goku flying into the stratosphere. With a savage grin, Beerus rocketed toward Goku, only for the Saiayn to disappear from sight before reappearing right behind Beerus and throwing a punch.
But Beerus stopped the attack by wrapping his tail around Goku's arm, only for the Saiyan to grab hold and pull Beerus in to land a strike on Beerus. Even after Beerus released his grip on Goku's arm, the Saiyan kept hold of the god's tail, using it to land more strikes on Beerus.
Getting sick of being treated like a yoyo, Beerus created a small ball of Ki in his hand, and the next time Goku pulled him in, Beerus flung it into the Saiyan's face, forcing him to release his grip on Beerus's tail.
Spinning around, Beerus kicked at Goku, who caught the god's foot in his hands before twisting it around, forcing Beerus to move his body around to compensate as Goku kneed Beerus's leg before throwing down his elbow in an attempt to break it.
That didn't go well as Beerus fired a beam at Goku's forehead, pushing the Saiyan back freeing his leg. Beerus followed this up by firing several beams at Goku, keeping his distance from the Saiyan so as not to be grabbed once more.
This forced Goku to dodge until he managed to find a good place to use Instant Transmission to get behind Beerus, noting that it was becoming harder to lock on to Beerus's energy once again, just like before.
Just as Goku appeared behind Beerus, the god threw an array of Ki behind his back to block Goku from attacking. Then, after Goku paused, the array shot out and struck him all across his body, causing him to howl in pain as his body began to lose his Super Saiyan glow.
"N-No…I'm not…done…" Goku muttered, attempting to throw a punch as his hair returned to normal.
But despite the Saiyan's declaration, Goku soon collapsed and fell down toward the Earth once more as Beerus looked down at the falling Saiyan with a disappointed expression on his face unhappy with this outcome.
"It was good for a while. But this was as far as you go." Beerus stated as he watched Goku fall.
"Time to finish the job." Beerus sighed as he raised a finger and created a large ball of firey Ki before throwing it at the falling Saiyan.
As the ball crept closer to Goku, the Saiyan could feel the remnants of his power leave his body as the heat of Beerus's attack began to singe his skin. However, even with his own power depleted, Goku could still feel another power. The power of Super Saiyan God.
Opening his eyes, Goku could see the Earth below him, his home where friends and family resided. If he did nothing, it would be destroyed here and now. He couldn't let that happen, and he wouldn't.
"GrrrrrAAAAAAAAHHHHH!" Goku yelled as Beerus's attack made contact with his body.
When it hit, Goku ignited the power inside him if for only a moment, turning his hair red once more as Beerus's attack broke apart from the sudden release of Goku's power, much to Beerus's surprise as Goku appeared as a Super Saiyan God once more before returning to normal and falling again.
"Hmm…" Beerus hummed as he appeared below Goku, catching him.
"How very interesting," Beerus smirked as he slowly descended from the sky.
Capsule Corp...
"Damn! Kakarot lost!" Vegeta cursed as he and Jason attempted to fly toward Beerus to engage him, only to fall back down
"And we're still not back to full power," Jason noted as the two descended toward the ground.
"What's going to happen now?" Scarlet asked as she ran up to her father and hugged his leg.
"I-I….everything's going to be okay, sweetheart," Jason assured, not wanting his daughter to grow scared.
"Arrow, do you have enough energy to use Instant Transmission?" Vegeta inquired as Jason nodded.
"Enough for one trip," Jason admitted as Vegeta turned towards Trunks.
"Trunks, get over here now with your mother!" Vegeta ordered before turning back toward Jason.
"If things go bad, you get them out of here." Vegeta insisted as Jason nodded.
"I'll do my best to get everyone to safety. But what about you?" Jason questioned as Vegeta looked up at the descending Beerus.
"I'll hold his attention," Vegeta stated as he clenched his fists.
"I'll join you as well." Gohan offered as he joined the two.
"Just make sure you get Videl out of here." Gohan requested as Jason nodded once more.
"Well, that was entertaining, but it didn't really meet my expectations of a Super Saiyan God," Beerus muttered as he dropped an unconscious Goku to the ground.
"Oh, is it time to go already? I suppose I'll just take some food to go." Whis whimpered as he teleported a large pile of food away.
"Wait, please, you can't just destroy Earth!" Bulma shouted as Trunks attempted to pull her back.
"Can't you just give us another chance!" Chi-Chi begged as Beerus scoffed.
"That's not how my job works. Before creation must come destruction, and destruction can't be selective." Beerus responded as he raised his palm out and created a ball of Ki.
"In response, Vegeta and Piccolo stepped between Beerus and the others while Jason held Scarlet close before grabbing onto Bulma and Chi-Chi, who held onto Trunks and Goten while Videl placed her hand on his back.
"Everyone get over here as fast as you can!" Jason insisted as Beerus's attack grew in size until suddenly it disappeared.
"Uh…." Scarlet hummed as she looked around.
"Where'd the attack go?" Scarlet wondered as Whis walked up to Beerus and poked him.
"Oh dear. It seems he fell asleep." Whis commented as everyone looked at the now sleeping god in shock.
"He fell…asleep?" Jason gasped as Whis sighed.
"Oh well, he won't be waking up for a while. Apologies for interrupting the party. I'll be taking Lord Beerus home now!" Whis exclaimed as he tapped his staff on the ground causing both himself and Beerus to disappear in a beam of light.
"What just happened?" Gohan questioned as Piccolo looked around.
"It seems like we got lucky," Piccolo commented as everyone began to relax.
"Thank the Kais." Jason sighed as he collapsed on the ground and pulled Scarlet into a hug.
"Do not tell your mother we almost died." Jason requested as his daughter nodded.
"Okay." Scarlet agreed as she hugged her father back.
"Ugh, this has got to be one of the worst birthdays ever," Bulma muttered, rubbing her head.
"Sorry about that, Bulma." Jason apologized as he scratched his cheek.
"It's not your fault, Jason, so don't sweat it," Bulma replied before walking off.
"I do need a drink, though," Bulma muttered as she turned to one of her employees.
"Please bring out the band. I think the party needs something to lift the mood." Bulma insisted as her employee nodded.
"Huh…? What happened?!" Goku gasped as Dende finished giving him as much healing as he could.
"You lost, and Beerus fell asleep," Piccolo stated, shocking Goku as Vegeta kicked his fellow Saiyan.
"Maybe if you didn't mess around at first, we wouldn't have to have been saved by blind luck!" Vegeta shouted as Goku chuckled.
"Sorry, but I had to get used to the power first. Honestly, it was unreal. It didn't feel like my energy increased when I became a Super Saiyan God but instead transformed into something else!" Goku explained as Jason approached.
"Sounds amazing. I kinda wish I got to feel what it was like with that power." Jason commented as he inspected Goku.
"What I'm wondering is how you managed to keep up with Beerus even after losing the power," Jason noted as Vegeta nodded.
"Agreed explain Kakarot!" Vegeta insisted as Goku shrugged.
"I don't get it either. But I felt a lot stronger in Super Saiyan than I was before we performed the ritual. Maybe just having the ritual performed on me made me stronger." Goku theorized as Piccolo crossed his arms.
"That or the very power of Super Saiyan God made you stronger," Piccolo suggested as Goku tapped his chin.
"Yeah, that might be it." Goku agreed as Jason looked up at the sky.
"One thing's for certain. We need to get a whole lot stronger if we want to stop Beerus if he ever comes back." Jason pointed out as the others nodded.
Far Away…
Whis hummed as he held onto Beerus while they traveled back to their planet, thinking deeply about exactly what he wanted to eat first from his haul from Earth and what he should save for Beerus when they got back.
"My lord. How much longer will you pretend to sleep?" Whis inquired as Beerus opened his eyes.
"Hmph. That obvious?" Beerus questioned as Whis chuckled.
"To me at least. Though I have to say I'm surprised, my lord. I never expected you to show mercy to a world like that." Whis commented as Beerus scratched his ear.
"Did something pique your interest on Earth?" Whis asked as Beerus smirked.
"That Saiyan…Goku. He was able to keep up with me pretty well with that Super Saiyan God form. Then, at the end, when the power had already left his body he managed to use it again." Beerus explained as Whis raised a brow.
"He certainly did," Whis noted, remembering the end of the fight.
"If he can do that, it makes me wonder just how strong he'll become. Plus, Earth's food is quite delicious." Beerus added as Whis nodded.
"Agreed," Whis replied as the two continued onward to their home.
Hours Later…
Capsule Corp…
"Whew! I feel a lot better now!" Goku exclaimed as he patted his full stomach.
"Tell me about it! All that stress and fighting today made me hungry." Jason agreed as he munched down on a burger.
After Beerus had left Earth and the reassurance that he wouldn't return by the Supreme Kai, the party began to liven up after everyone calmed down from the destruction god's sudden appearance.
"Still, though, you seem to be eating far more than normal Vegeta," Jason commented as Vegeta stuffed his face.
"I'm going to need all the energy I need since I'm going to go right to training after this," Vegeta stated as he grabbed a drumstick.
"I will not be left behind," Vegeta muttered as he bit off a large piece of the drumstick.
"You could at least wait a day, Vegeta. There's no rush." Jason suggested, earning a scoff from the Saiyan Prince.
"That attitude will hold you back, especially once I surpass you." Vegeta snickered as Jason rolled his eyes.
"Mindless training under high gravity isn't going to cut it anymore, I think. Besides, it doesn't feel like it doesn't do anything for me anymore." Jason commented as he looked at his hands.
"You did mention before that you had a hard time using Ki and that you felt like there was a wall in your way," Goku noted as he remembered his conversation with Jason earlier.
"You can't use your Ki properly?" Vegeta laughed, only to be silenced when Jason hit him in the gut.
"I can use it fine. It's just getting a little harder." Jason replied as Goku tapped his chin.
"How about you visit Yardrat!" Goku suggested gaining both Jason and Vegeta's attention.
"Yardrat?" Jason questioned as Vegeta crossed his arms.
"Isn't that where you learned Instant Transmission?" Vegeta asked, raising a brow as Goku nodded.
"Yep, that's the one! When I was recovering there, they also taught me how to increase my energy output with something called uh…what was it…" Goku began as he pondered about the name.
"Oh, it was Spirit Control!" Goku exclaimed upon remembering the name.
"It helped me immensely, especially when they taught me Instant Transmission afterward," Goku explained as Jason nodded.
"That sounds pretty interesting. I think I'll give that a try!" Jason smirked as he looked at Scarlet, who was playing with Trunks and Goten.
"First, I need to think of a punishment for Scarlet when I get home," Jason murmured, causing Goku to choke.
"What are you punishing her for?" Goku questioned, surprised.
"For coming here," Jason stated as he chewed on his food, annoyed.
"Just thinking about how mad Neo will be is exhausting." Jason sighed as Vegeta huffed.
"It'd be more productive to train her than to punish her for something so minor," Vegeta muttered as Jason raised an eyebrow.
"Huh. You know Vegeta, that's not a half-bad idea. I just need to convince Neo." Jason smirked, surprising the prince.
"Well, it's about time you listened to my advice," Vegeta replied as Jason rolled his eyes.
"Now I don't want to do it." Jason teased, causing Vegeta to growl.
"You little…" Vegeta hissed as Jason dug into his pocket.
"Oh, I almost forgot to put my wedding ring back on," Jason noted as he pulled out his ring and placed it on his hand.
"Wedding ring? What's that?" Goku questioned as he looked at the ring on Jason's hand.
"My wedding ring…you know, the ring Neo and I wear to show that we're married. Don't you and Chi-Chi have them?" Jason inquired as Goku tilted his head.
"Not that I know of. Are they important?" Goku asked, causing Vegeta to gasp as he looked at Goku shocked.
"Are you serious Kakarot!? Do you know what Bulma what do to me if I ever misplaced mine?!" Vegeta shouted as Goku inspected Vegeta.
"You have one too…where?" Goku questioned as Vegeta pulled off his glove, showing off his ring.
"Huh…who knew," Goku murmured as he rubbed his chin.
"Hey, Chi-Chi!" Goku called, gaining his wife's attention.
"Do we have wedding rings?" Goku asked as Chi-Chi tilted her head.
"Wedding rings? What are those?" Chi-Chi questioned, looking confused as Gohan chimed in.
"It's the rings that symbolize marriage, Mom. You know, like the ones I exchanged with Videl when we got married. Or the ones Jason and Neo exchanged at theirs." Gohan reminded as Chi-Chi gasped.
"Oh, that's what those were! I just thought it was a small exchange of jewelry." Chi-Chi commented as Goku nodded.
"You and Dad really didn't do that during your wedding?" Gohan asked with a sweatdrop.
"Well, we didn't really have a wedding…come to think of it, I just promised to marry her when we were kids, then during the twenty-third world martial arts tournament, I agreed again," Goku noted as Chi-Chi nodded.
"And we've been living happily since!" Chi-Chi exclaimed as everyone around them deadpanned.
"Are they even legally married?" Jason wondered as Vegeta hummed.
"I honestly don't know anymore," Vegeta murmured as he held his head in his hands.
"That being said…Gohan! What are your plans for training." Vegeta questioned as Gohan laughed nervously.
"Well uh…I haven't really thought about it." Gohan admitted as he scratched the back of his head.
"Well, it's in your best interest to start training seriously unless you want someone like Beerus to appear again, and you'll be helpless." Vegeta insisted as Gohan held out his hands.
"Actually, I'm pretty busy still. I can only train so much…" Gohan replied, only for Piccolo to grab his shoulder.
"I'll make sure he gets into shape," Piccolo smirked as Gohan sighed.
"Please let your training work with my schedule." Gohan requested as Piccolo chuckled.
"There's no schedule for training." Piccolo joked, causing Gohan to deadpan.
"You can also train Piccolo. I'm seeing a lot of interesting things in our book of legends that could help you, too!" Dende revealed, surprising Piccolo.
"Really? Well, I'll have to check that out later." Piccolo replied as Dende continued to read through the book.
"I should figure out something, too, since regular training isn't doing much. Especially with this Super Saiyan God power giving me that boost." Goku noted as Jason stood up.
"Well, I should head back home. I've got some work in the morning, and if I stay away for too long, then both Scarlet and I will be sleeping outside for a while." Jason sighed before whistling to Scarlet.
"Scarlet! It's time to go!" Jason insisted as Scarlet pouted.
"Do we have to go now?" Scarlet inquired as she stood between Goten and Trunks.
"Yes, you have school in about…a few hours if I'm getting the time right. So, if you want any sleep tonight, I suggest we get going." Jason pointed out as Scarlet nodded and ran over to her father.
"I'll see you guys around…hopefully when the world isn't at stake," Jason said as Goku nodded.
"Yeah, here's hoping!" Goku laughed as Bulma spoke up.
"Thanks for coming, Jason and tell Neo I love the gift!" Bulma waved as Jason gave a thumbs-up.
"You bet!" Jason replied before using Instant Transmission to teleport both himself and Scarlet back to Remnant.
Meanwhile, Dende continued to flip through the pages of the Namekian Book of Legends, unable to take his eyes off its contents. That is until he came upon a page that took him by surprise.
"What are…Black Star Dragon Balls?" Dende wondered as he stared at a set of Dragon Balls with black stars within them.
Remnant…
Shin Family Home…
Jason and Scarlet appeared within the living room of their home as faint moonlight illuminated the space through the windows. That is until the lights flickered on, revealing a very disappointed Neo sitting on the couch.
"Oh, Mom! You're still up at this hour…" Scarlet murmured nervously as Neo simply pointed toward her room.
"Right, going to bed!" Scarlet cried as she ran into her room leaving her parents alone as Neo glared daggers at Jason.
"Okay, in fairness. I didn't bring her on purpose. Nor was she ever in danger." Jason stated as his wife's expression remained cold.
"She stowed away and deserves a punishment for it, I agree. I would have brought her back sooner, but uh…I couldn't leave until the situation was dealt with…which it was! Everyone's safe!" Jason continued as he slowly approached the still-silent Neo.
"Bulma says thanks for her gift, too, by the way! She really liked it!" Jason added, hoping to see some reaction from Neo.
"I'm…I'm in the monkey house, aren't I?" Jason inquired as Neo crossed her arms.
"The expression is dog house." Neo corrected, breaking her silence.
"Yeah, but…I'm a monkey." Jason pointed out as he held his tail.
"But the answer is…" Jason began before Neo swiftly got up and grabbed his tail from him.
"Yes. You are very much in the monkey house." Neo answered as Jason sweatdropped.
"Figures." Jason sighed as Neo twirled his tail on her finger.
"As punishment, you are not going to work tomorrow," Neo stated as Jason tilted his head.
"But how is that…" Jason asked before being interrupted by Neo grabbing his tail with both hands and stretching it out.
"Okay…right…for that…" Jason murmured as Neo's treatment of his tail sent shivers up his spine.
"Can we at least use protection this time? What if we make another baby?" Jason requested as Neo cracked a sinister smile.
"That's a risk." Neo began as she caressed her finger against Jason's chest.
"I am very…"
"Willing to take," Neo stated as Jason bit his lip.
"Okay, okay, but please let go of my tail!" Jason insisted as Neo acquiesced, releasing Jason's tail as he fell to his knees.
"Is that all you wanted to say, or is there more?" Jason asked Neo as she sat on his back.
"I also wanted to talk about Scarlet. More specifically, what her punishment will be. First off, I do not want any training for her in the foreseeable future." Neo began as Jason sweatdropped.
"Then she'll be confined at home for about the next…six months, only allowed to go out for school, and finally…" Neo continued as she tapped on Jason's head.
"Cut her food portions by a third." Neo finished as Jason sighed, already knowing what complaints he'd be hearing from his daughter.
"Well, I can't argue with that…too much," Jason replied as he swiftly stood up, causing Neo to fall off his back only for him to catch her in his arms.
"I'm fine with that punishment for her since she's definitely earned that," Jason agreed as he sat down on the couch, placing Neo on his lap.
"I just have one suggestion," Jason smirked as Neo raised a brow.
"Am I going to like it?" Neo questioned, narrowing her eyes.
"Probably not," Jason admitted as Neo crossed her arms.
"I want to start training her… immediately," Jason revealed, causing his wife's expression to harden.
"I know, I know you don't want that, and if anything, she might enjoy it. But I'm not going to make it easy on her." Jason added, raising his arms.
"I want to drill it into her about the dangers of fighting and just how hard it'll be to grow stronger. That way, she won't try a stunt like that again." Jason explained as Neo pouted.
"How could you be sure it will work?" Neo asked as Jason laughed nervously.
"Well, it could backfire, but my idea for training is…" Jason began before whispering into Neo's ear, causing her to go wide-eyed before smiling.
"Okay, I like that," Neo smirked as she hooked her arm around Jason.
"Now onto your punishme…" Neo snickered before realizing that Jason had fallen asleep. Neo chuckled before placing her head on Jason's chest feeling his soft breaths as she slowly drifted off to sleep herself.
The Battle with Beerus is over, and though Goku had lost, he had more than satisfied Beerus as the God of Destruction feels intrigued at the Saiyan's further growth. But the knowledge of Beerus's existence strikes a chord with the Saiyans, who look to start their training anew with Jason aiming for the planet Yardrat!
But will that training bear fruit? And what other threats are slowly forming?

Holy hell, it took way over a year, but I finally finished the chapter! Again, I'm so sorry for how long it took like I said, I've been dealing with burnout for the past year, so it was hard just thinking about how I'd write the chapter. Guess I know how TFS was feeling now, lol.
Here's hoping I can get the next chapter out faster (Hopefully in this year XD), but I'm not going to promise anything so I don't accidentally break any promises. Still, though, I'm glad with how the chapter came out, especially the fight between Beerus and Goku.
I did my best to make it different from both the show and movie versions while still including bits that were in both. While I do wish I could have made it a little longer, I couldn't without making the fight repetitive and boring.
Then there was the small tidbits I laid out for what's to come in the next arc, which will not be Ressurection F but will serve as a bridge between Battle of Gods and that story. Obviously, it will involve Jason visiting Yardrat and training with them, much like Vegeta when he visited in the manga.
I'll also include some training moments with others, mainly Gohan and Piccolo, as Vegeta and Goku are going to be exploring God Ki like in canon. Simultaneously, while writing the training, we'll also see some adventures Scarlet is going to be getting into (Some of which I've laid the groundwork for in previous chapters) which is going to be fun to write.
As I've said before present, Scarlet's story will be one more focused on Remnant and those characters compared to Jason's, which will be focused on the events of Dragon Ball Super. Can't wait to explore that! Finally, there's the reveal of the Black Star Dragon Balls! I won't say much about them for now, but they will play a role soon.
However, I should mention that they do work a little differently than they did in GT, as for how, I won't say, as it'll be explained when they appear. That's all I've got for now, so on to the reviews:
Mattaro – Sorry for taking so long on this chapter too lol. Burnout is a very difficult mistress. Hopefully, I can get the next chapter out a little faster. For the legends of the Super Saiyan God, I didn't really do anything with it as I just used my knowledge and the wiki to make sure I wrote it right.
So it should be the same as in canon. Yeah, I just can't think of a good reason to add Broly or a reason Jason would need to fight him by that point in the story, but I agree with you about the Ikari state, as it is basically similar to SSJ4 which is why I gave Jason it so early in the story (Though I wish I didn't give it to him so soon lol).
While that is an interesting idea, I don't think it would really work as for Jason, SSJ4 is just Super Saiyan combined with the Wrath/Ikari state. That being said, his future training will go into his fighting style as well as giving him the power to rival gods in his own way that doesn't involve God Ki. So here's looking forward to that.
