Chapter 52

The High Cost of Loathing

Venture Building

Right now Naruto was bored out of his mind, it's been 2 months since the whole Thanksgiving fiasco, along with getting the building back up and running, thankfully it gave Naruto some downtime to do his studying for college, with Eenie Meanie being his "study-buddy" in helping him to pass the entrance exam, along with a few other stuff that might help him, which allowed him to not only pass, but gain high marks as well.

But after that, Naruto also made sure his room was "Hank-proof," considering how the boy gets plenty of idiotic ideas in his head, so Naruto wanted to make sure no-one but himself (and his girls) can get in his room, which is why he had Brok and Sindri create a special barrier for such an event, with the blacksmith brothers were more than welcome towards doing for him.

But right now, the reason why Naruto was bored, was because he had to take over his dad's bodyguard position until he gets back from dropping off Dean at his dorm, not to mention dropping off Naruto's own stuff in his own one-bedroom dorm, since he paid extra for no roommate to disturb his "studies" or anything.

Naruto then quickly got in touch with Brock, "Hey dad, thanks again for dropping off my stuff, just, you know, leave it in my room and I'll sort it out when I get there." Naruto asked the man.

Brock just smiled on the wrist comm, "Hey think nothing of it, I had to drop off Dean's stuff anyway, not to mention it gave me a chance to see your room, very nice by the way, a room to yourself without anyone getting in the way, good job on that, but also I'm, ya know, proud of ya getting in college and everything." He answered back, making Naruto smile.

Though he then heard Dean yell in the background about being jealous of Naruto having his own dorm, "Okay, with that, I'll see you when you get back, just be sure to warn Dean about-!" (ZZZZZZZZZZZRRRRRTTTTTTT!) "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGHHHHH!" The pair quickly heard someone getting shocked and zapped by something in the background.

"(Sigh!) My boxes that have biometric scanners on them to stop anyone, other than me, from opening them." Naruto then finished stating.

While Brock went to check on Dean, Naruto overhears them speaking, "Hey Dean, you alright!?" He heard his dad ask, "I-I-I-I'm FINE, though I'm no LONGER the master of MY own Bladder!" Hearing this, Naruto's eyes widen, "And make sure he cleans up after himself after he finishes juddering." Naruto states into the watch before hanging up, since he didn't want any "mess" being left behind in his new dorm.

After which, he releases a sigh towards Dean, now don't get him wrong, he's grateful that the boy could be somewhat thoughtful of others, but he shouldn't try to help others without asking them if he could first, otherwise it's an invasion of privacy, Naruto couldn't help but shake him head at the boy, wondering where he'd got such a personality from.

(CRAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSHHHHHH!)

Only to be interrupted by the sound of breaking glass, with the Pirate Captain screaming in fear, only it turned out Rusty had jumped out the window, but was hovering in mid air thanks to a replica of his brother's own hover device, though while Rusty was congratulating himself, cuts had started to appear all over his face, showing that his "performance" wasn't what he had intended, with the Captain soon pointing out a large shard of glass sticking into the man's leg, with Rusty yanking it out and causing him to bleed until he fainted from blood loss.

"GODDAMNIT DOC! I told you that stunt was stupid, excuse me please everyone!" Naruto yelled out, while quickly asking the people at the meeting to move out of the way, where he then grabbed one of his Blades and threw it towards the injured man, with the chain wrapping around Rusty's waist and allowing Naruto to reel the man in.

Later

After Rusty was rushed to hospital due to his injuries, Naruto had just made it to his first lesson, which happened to be Think Tank's class, but unfortunately the man had left on a sabbatical for whatever reason, though the sub tried to reprimanded him, Naruto simply showed his Agent Licence to him, which caused the man to first mumble what he was reading, only to go deathly pale at the "Licence to kill" part, making him look towards Naruto, who had a calm "neutral" look on his face, while Eenie Meanie was sitting on his shoulder with an evil smile on her own, making quite the scary sight for the man, who quickly and fearfully asked Naruto to find a seat.

With that, Naruto did so, after getting his licence back, while sitting next to Dean, where due to the sub's lack of knowledge on the philosophy, the man decided to let the students watch the movie, 300, with Naruto, Dean and Eenie Meanie groaning at the lack of studying, so with that, Eenie Meanie had decided to "sleep" somewhere while the movie was playing, followed by giving Naruto her clothes to put in his pocket, making Naruto wonder to himself, "Yep~ I'm getting FAR too used to this outcome(!)" He couldn't help but think to himself about such a thing.

After Class

Naruto and Dean were then released from the "studying" with Dean complaining about the lesson to his roommate about the whole thing, but the guy tried to be optimistic about watching the 300 movie once more.

Where it just so happened that the group had managed to bump into Sirena, who greeted the three, though she brushed off Dean's roommate, with the man grumbling as he left the three alone, where at first she invited to two for coffee, only for a tiny voice to yell out from Naruto's crotch, "HELL YEAH! That sounds awesome, campus-coffee!" Which made Naruto embarrassed at Eenie Meanie yelling such a thing like that for nearly everyone to hear.

Where Sirena became confused about the voice, asking in her own way, "WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT!?" Since it had pretty much scared the shit out of her.

Only for both Dean and Naruto to sigh at the sametime, since both had become somewhat used to Eenie Meanie's antics, with Naruto simply stating, "THAT would be the annoying, naked pixie down my pants, wanting to get attention AND trying to embarrass me." With Dean vouching for him, though his cheeks were slightly red from Naruto admitting such a thing.

Which Naruto quickly took the clothes from his pocket and discreetly shoved them down the front of his pants, "Get those back on and come out of there right now, or else I'll put you in a jaw with holes in it and make sure that you're "cut off" from our "fun" for a week." Naruto stated towards his miniature roommate.

Who has so happened, quickly got dressed and zipped out of Naruto's pants, making Sirena embarrassed and bright red at the thought of what the girl was doing down there, of all places, but decided not to think about it and quickly move on, wanting to ask the pair if they still wanted to get coffee after such an "episode" from Naruto and Eenie Meanie, who was now sitting on Naruto's shoulder with a slight pout at Naruto for being mean.

With that Dean politely declined, explaining that he needed to cancel all the super science stuff that his dad had put him on, "Oh, that actually reminded me, Dean, you're dad caused himself a little accident with his demonstration today and had to be rushed to hospital, I only just remembered about it due to the hospital stating that they needed to get him patched up and everything, so I couldn't stay with him, I was gonna tell you before the "lesson" started, but then the movie started playing and... Well you get the idea." Naruto quickly stated for the boy, along with the reason why he had forgotten to mention it.

At first Dean was worried, but Naruto calmed him down since Rusty was fine and just needed to stay in hospital for a while, but the pair went to visit the man before anything else, with both telling Sirena that they'll see her later.

Though as it turned out, with it being their first day of classes, they couldn't really visit Rusty in the hospital, though Brock did call him to tell him off for not paying attention, with Naruto admitting that he did a "rookie mistake" when it comes to watching Rusty, while stating to his dad that it's been a while since he did the whole solo-bodyguarding, so it was pretty obvious that Naruto was a little rusty, but at least with the man on "bedrest" after jumping out the window and everything, everyone should get SOME rest as well.

While Brock wanted to deny that, his mind suddenly remembered a big game he was planning to watch, along with giving Rusty enough morphine to knock him out after the man deny giving Hank any money for whatever he had planned for his "new room" and everything, so he gave Naruto his dues and left it alone.

Night

Right now Naruto was waiting in the Botany Class, cos while his major study is focused more on the English Language, since his "retirement plan" was to be an author later, his side major was a study of plants, since he figured he could use some plants in his books or something, so really his study major was a mix and match of different classes, just so he's well rounded in those fields for his books.

Where Dean then entered the classroom, greeted Naruto and set his study equipment up for himself, seeing as while Naruto is a part of the whole "super science" world, Naruto knew how to separate from that part of his life and live a normal life in someway.

Though Sirena made her appearance, greeting the two, while questioning them about why they joined the class, with Naruto explaining his "retirement plan" for later, when he's ready to settle down, which the girl found interesting and supporting him with his plan, along with Dean explaining how he wanted to be as far away from his dad's version of science, with Sirena agreeing considering who her dad was along with her gills.

But just as the teacher was about to start the lesson, the Monarch and Gary crashed through the window, interrupting the lesson, though the pair ended up greeting both Naruto and Dean, causing Dean to Groan at such poor timing, while Naruto has a deadpan look on his face, "So much for having a normal class.

Where both the villain and his #2, asked Naruto why he was in college, since they can understand Dean due to his lineage, where Naruto simply stated his plan for when he's ready to settle down, which both could agree that it sounds interesting.

Only for the pair to start ransacking the classroom, upsetting Dean even more, "Naruto!? Why aren't you stopping them!?" The boy couldn't help but ask, since it was pretty weird that he wasn't.

Naruto just sighed, "Unfortunately their whole thing is a part of the Guild Rules thing Dean, meaning unless they get either you or some innocent bystander involved, my hands are tied, since I don't want the idiots on either side complaining about me attacking Guild Members while they were arching someone else, trust me kid, it's the whole "red tape" thing that's the problem, which is nothing but troublesome." Naruto explained, since he didn't want to be a target for either the Guild or the OSI.

After hearing that, Dean couldn't help but agree with Naruto's reluctance to fight the Monarch and Gary, only for the pair to punch and kick the professor, only for them to scream in pain due to hitting what sounded like metal, where the Monarch then ordered Gary to use Sirena as a hostage, which angered the professor greatly that he transformed to his metal fiery form.

Though it seemed to be a waste, since Naruto is holding his hand out, "And there's your "innocent bystander" Dean." With him stating, where his axe flew through the broken window and landed him his hand with a flourish, shocking the professor, but also scaring both the Monarch and Gary into begging for their lives, while apologising for trying to use an "innocent bystander" like that.

Only for Dean to start yelling at the pair, since he was getting sick and tired of the whole Villain Arching thing, so he wrote a check for $1,000,000,00 for the villain to leave them alone, which the Monarch agreed to and left after such a thing.

Afterwards, the Professor then questioned Naruto about his axe, with Naruto explaining it's background, along with his own background, surprising both the Professor and Sirena that Naruto was actually a decendent of a god, but Naruto brushed it off, wanting to focus more on his studies, which the professor agreed to, though decided to change it to another day in order to get the classroom cleaned up.

Where Sirena thanked the pair for worrying about her, giving them a quick peck on the cheek in gratitude, though Naruto rushes after her, since he just thought of something that the girl might be interested in, while missing Dean's erection, causing the boy himself to quickly notice and quickly cover it up.

Outside The Classroom

"H-Hey! Sirena, wait up!" Naruto calls out, catching the girl's attention, with her asking what was wrong, Naruto soon answered while the pair continued to walk, "Ya know, after thinking about your name, and how closely resembles the name, Siren, why not have a go and see if singing might be your calling, since due to your gills you could have some skills in singing."

Hearing this made Sirena think about such a thing, "That might work, since I'm pretty much using what my dad gave me, only for a completely different way of not being a part of his whole "mobster" thing that he's got for himself, thanks Naruto, I'll look into that, though I may need some type of water brace thing around my neck so my gills don't dry out while I sing." She answered, while trying to think about what Naruto was saying.

Naruto just shrugs, "Hey, leave your gills part to me, I know a couple of guys who'd more than likely jump at the chance to help someone with your abilities, just give me a couple of days to get in touch with them and I'll let you know what they say." Naruto offers, figuring that Sirena was a good person, no matter who her father was.

With that the pair parted, with Naruto entering his dorm, being thankful that Brok and Sindri made his room "axe-proof" or in his axe case, the room allows his axe to fly out of it without damaging it, and if it does get damaged it can simply repair itself.

After putting his axe away, along with greeting Eenie Meanie, since she didn't want to spend a few hours in class, so decided to spend the time in Naruto's dorm, Naruto got in touch with Brok and Sindri, since the brothers gave Naruto a magical stone that allows him to talk to the pair when he wanted something from them, where Naruto had explained to them about Sirena's problem with her gills and everything, causing the brothers to start planning their "next project" for Naruto and the lass, with Naruto quickly saying his goodbyes and hanging up, since he didn't want to be in the middle of their talks.

Now all it'll be is a waiting game for him and Sirena, while making Naruto wonder what will happen now that he was a college student.

I figured Naruto would help Sirena with her gills problem, seeing as she needs to drench them in water otherwise they'll dry out, along with Naruto getting the idea of Sirena possibly becoming a singer due to her namesake.

Also I'm not gonna say if Sirena will end up with Naruto or not, since I don't want to spoil anything for you readers. lol
