AN bleuxe: I struggle to write this. I hoped it paid off. Happy Spring and happy read!

"I think you really lucked up with Kakashi. I mean, just look at him with Uteki," Kurenai commented while watching them dance.

"I know I'm so thankful," Hinata couldn't help but smile at them.

It was the reception, after dinner there was the wedding cake being cut into, which was, of course, that was Mirai and Uteki's favorite part. Being how observed Kakashi was, he could tell his goddaughter was going to be hyped up on sugar. He took her to the dance floor to run that energy up. Mirai, not wanting to be left behind, ran over to her godfather, dragging a less enthused Shikamaru to dance with her.

"We both are lucky to have such great godfather's for our daughters," she said happily, thinking how cute they were.

"Yes, we do, but with you, it is a very different situation?"

"Uh n-no, we are just friends. Really good friends... don't listen to all those rumors that are going around," Hinata sighed, wishing her former teacher didn't believe what others were saying.

"Oh Hinata, I've been seeing you two interact for a long time now, and this is no rumor,"

Kurenai could tell because it has been years of watching those two, and they definitely liked each other. Possibly even loved each other, but she really wished Hinata wasn't shying away from how she truly felt because it was like she was dealing with Hinata's teenage self all over again. And she really hoped Kakashi would just make the first move already.

Kurenai figured it was because both of them had some kind of underlying guilt about Obito, that was preventing them from trying anything. But tonight she was going to make it her mission to get those two finally together. It looked like the first of her plan was about to begin.

Mirai suddenly left the dance floor to go grab Temari, gesturing that she should dance with Shikamaru. Uteki watches this, wanting to mimic her best friend. And ran back to the table out of breath.

"Mommy you should dance with godfather!" Uteki suddenly exclaimed.

"R-Right now? I-I don't think-"

"Oh come Hinata! One little dance won't harm anyone, besides he probably wants to dance with you since he sent Uteki here," Kurenai egged on not letting her get out of this one.

Hinata sighed, but couldn't help to feel giddy as her daughter led her to the dance floor.

Kakashi thought about leaving the dance floor, but then remembered Uteki said that she would be right back and made him promise to stay put. But it was so awkward being surrounded by a bunch of couples dancing with each other and him being alone, just standing there.

"Where did she go?" he muffled underneath his breath and hoped this wasn't one of his goddaughter's little games. He was about to go looking for her hoping she wasn't causing anyone trouble.

That was when he saw Hinata coming towards him.

"You were about to leave! You promised!" Uteki accused and stamped her little foot.

"I'm still here and it looks like you got me a new dance partner?" Kakashi smiled and saw what was happening here.

Uteki smiled back while putting her mommy's hand with her godfather's and ran off to go find Mirai again.

Hinata couldn't help, but think that this was such a perfect moment. The music was slow and this had to be the closest she had ever been with Kakashi. It made it hard to calm her nerves, being this close and she prayed he didn't notice.

"Your very graceful," he said quietly in her ear.

"Thank you, I feel honored you would want to dance with me!" she was full on blushing.

"Hinata please..." Kakashi nimbly gave her a twirl in his arm.

"The honor is all mine to be able to dance such a beautiful woman,"

She felt lightheaded from his compliment because she never knew that he saw her that way. It was always friendly banter between, but it felt different just then. She always thought he was handsome, but never said it outloud. Especially when she did finally see him without his mask for the first time.

Hinata never knew if it was by accident or by design because Uteki was a toddler then and Kakashi was holding her. When her daughter suddenly pulled down his mask and saw his entire face. She remembered apologizing profusely, but he just chuckled and waved it off. As Uteki murmured cutie and giggled

The dance was over and Hinata wished it would never end. They headed back to their seats and immediately Mirai was asking if Uteki can spend a night at their place.

"Ppppplease mommy I promise I'll be good!" Uteki begged.

"Plus I would be cool with it," Kurenai reassured.

"I-I are you sure!" Hinata was surprised that she agreed so quickly.

"Coming on Hinata you know because of Naruto and Sakura's wedding all of Konoha is basically on a holiday for a week,"

Kakashi saw what Kurenai was really up to and he should have known. For years she would try to set them up on sly dates and it would always end with nothing happening between them. Though when they danced it felt different, they couldn't take their eyes off each other. Especially when they touch, it was magnetic and there was some unadulterated tension there.

It seems that even Ten-ten was in on the plan because she had Neji completely distracted from noticing them dancing. Maybe even Temari was in on it from what Kakashi deduced.

"Should I at least get her some clothes for the night?" Hinata offered because she was sure her daughter was done being in the flower girl outfit.

"We got plenty of clothes and you know Mirai and Uteki are practically the same size," Kurenai wasn't taking anymore protest from her.

"Come on girls! It is getting late!"

"Yay!" The girls squealed in unison as her daughter suddenly hugged her goodbyes to both her and Kakashi.

The sun was setting and the wedding festivities were winding down. All that was left was the flower toss as a gang of women stood behind Sakura ready to catch the bouquet.

They both decided it was time to leave the venue saying their goodbyes to everyone still there. Kakashi doing the small talk wondering what she was going to do, now that she was child-free. She wanted to go for a walk away from the prying eyes and wasn't ready to go back home yet.

"I'm just surprised that you didn't want to go and try to catch the bouquet," the silver nin commented.

"If I caught it, it would mean I would be next in line to be married," she said while her mind thought of him as her husband.

"Ah yes marriage is a big commitment," he replied whimsically.

"But I think you would make a beautiful bride..."

Hinata was shocked once again by his compliment, it made her stop walking completely to turn towards him.

"Y-You really think so?"

Kakashi looked back at her and noticed the glow of the sunset on her skin with the blossom petals still in her hair. He couldn't help himself, cupped her face and then dusted the petals off lightly with his fingers.

"Actually, no I know so," he confirmed with a whisper.

Hinata's eyes widened in realization with the lingering feeling of his fingers in her hair.

"How long have you felt this for me?"

"Too long..." he suddenly looked away and felt ashamed that he couldn't control his feelings.

"I felt such this strong feeling and I just kept it to myself because I never want to hurt you or Uteki. You are both too important to me,"

"I was always afraid that our dynamic would get messed up!" it was now her turn to hold his cheek to make him look at her again.

"But I didn't realize our dynamic changed a long time ago. I have to be honest, I'm so happy to have a handsome man like you to call more than just a friend!" the blue kunoichi spoke so heartfelt.

Kakashi immediately pulled down his mask, kissing her passionately. He did not care if anyone on the street saw them. Hinata kissed back with equal passion with her arms wrapped tightly around his neck.
