Chapter 5: Kill the Big Story Pt. 4

The next day, Jimmy and Akame paid a visit at Gwen's house to warn them about their friend, that the most powerful man in the universe had been corrupted by a strange, alien force; however, what they would find would be that their findings, their pleas, were all for nought.

Deafening ears, as it were, was a true friend to ignorance.

That was until an unhappy assassin barged into the conversation, scaring both Team Alien Force, Jimmy, and Akame.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN "BEN IS IN TROUBLE"?!" Sheele yelled.

"We found that Ben is on some form of mind control," Akame said.

"Ben Tennyson, the guy who reminds us daily that he saved the Earth on several occasions and the galaxy at least once?" Kevin stated.

"WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM?!" Sheele exclaimed.

"Sheele, relax. It's probably just a conspiracy," Gwen dismissed.

"I believe him! I've seen him talking to a plant creature," Akame countered.

"WHAT. HAPPENED. TO. HIM?" Sheele gritted, getting to Akame's face, to whom was backing slowly away.

"Sheele turning into Ben's personal bodyguard is getting scarier and scarier per day, it's both admirable and scary," Kevin said, leaning back on the bed with a cheeky smile while Gwen gave him a sharp glare.

"Jimmy," Akame said. Jimmy turned, "I will walk Sheele back to the hallway. You try your best to explain the situation to them."

Jimmy nodded and turned to Gwen, digging in his pocket for evidence he took. Akame, worried for her friend, pulled her away from the room, closing the door behind them.

"I want to drag you out of there to save yourself from becoming one of Kevin's punchlines," Akame said, as Sheele narrowed her eyes.

"What happened to my Ben?" Sheele asked, "Is he okay?"

"He's being mind controlled," Akame said flatly, "How and why is the question."

"And what about a plant creature?" Sheele asked.

"It's something alien, but it's not like a Swampfire or a Wildvine," Akame analyzed.

"I don't care, we need to save him, now!" Sheele said, turning back to the door, only for Jimmy to come out frustrated.

"Anything?" Akame asked, noticing Jimmy's discontented face.

"They don't believe me, and…" Jimmy paised, noticing Sheele in the mix, "Uhhh…"

"Sheele! You must be Jimmy!" Sheele introduced.

"Are you…how do you…nevermind, questions for later," Jimmy said.

"What's the plan, Jimmy?" Akame asked, confident in her new friend.

"We go to the person who will listen," Jimmy said.

Had Jimmy known the kind of mistake he made, he would have come back to this exact point in time and backslap the hell out of himself.

He could have gone to any other news source, heck, he could have gone over to Fox News, but since they were just as bad if not worse than the particular host he went to for help to air his grievances, he made a decisive pass.

Yep, you've guessed it.

Will Harangue.

The loud-voiced television newscaster and the anchorman host of the American news station: Harangue Nation.

Will Harangue was a bitter, Hitlerian newscaster famous for slandering the Teen Hero. Either he was not aware or painfully ignorant as to how protective they were to Ben, because taking the two assassins, keyword: assassins to a Slander News Channel was a risk, a deadly risk.

Will Harangue, the bane of all Network Television, wore a two-piece black suit and a red tie. He is a middle-aged man who sported short, brown hair that greyed at the temples, and sported a square chin and illegally high cheekbones. On his show, Harangue Nation, he slammed his desk, leaning forward towards the camera.

"Welcome back to the Will Harangue Nation, our guests today, or should I say guests, plural, Jimmy Jones, the 10 year old Jimmy, the boy who exposed Ben Tennyson for the menace that he is, and two of Ben's sexual assault victims: Alita and Sheith!" Will introduced to the nervous Jimmy, an apathetic Akame, and an offended Sheele.

Sheele, clearly not liking Will, stood up, wanting to bash his head through the table like a simple game of whack-a-mole, Akame, however composed herself, and pulled Sheele back down to her seat.

To say that Akame wasn't pissed could be understatement. She was pissed with a capital P. Her hands shook as her breathing became heavier than an anvil.

It took mountainous amounts of will-power to not slice Ben's slanderer into strips of human bacon.

No grease.

Both of their eyes were locked dead center at Will as he slandered Ben's name, and theirs, coating them as whores and sex objects.

"It's Akame…" Akame corrected.

"Don't talk over me, Alita," Will dismissed as Akame took deep breaths and leaned back.

"Just give me five minutes," Sheele said under her breath.

"Now, Jimmy and his Special Company, has a new equally startling claim, startling claim," he began, "Ben Tennyson is leading an alien invasion to take over the entire Earth, make us slaves, and turn all of us into his vegetable wives!" Will explained to his audience.

"Uh…I didn't say he was leading it…I said he may be involved-" Jimmy spoke before Sheele slammed her hand on the desk.

"Ben Tennyson wasn't trying to invade the Earth, he was trying to save it! That's libel!" Sheele yelled.

"HEY! It is not! I resent that! Libel is written. On TV, it's Slander. Have you ever learned that in school, young lady!?" Will said.

"You're the one to talk! You trash on my Ben for years and all you do is trash him for money! You don't trust anybody, that's your problem!" Sheele called out.

"I am telling the truth, Shriek! And for your information, I trust my barber. How much is Ben paying you for your services? If he's paying you at all?" Will countered.

"He pays me more than you!" Sheele growled.

"Stacks of fives and ones?" Will asked.

Jimmy cringed as the two got to arguing; Akame took a soda and took a sip.

"Are you gonna help her?" Jimmy asked.

"If I did, I'd get a murder charge," Akame replied, still drinking her soda.

"Look at this ladies and gentlemen, the Ben Tennyson crew and his sex objects have proven to be a threat to all of humanity!" Will said to his audience on live national television.

"You're a threat to humanity, Harangue," Akame spoke up, "You do not know Ben Tennyson like we do. For a few weeks he was dumped into our world, our universe! He saved us, and without him we would have been killed! Honestly, I sometimes wonder why he was sent to our world in the first place. Looks like I got my answer, unfortunately, it came from the mouth of a middle-aged, bitter old man who is no different from the Minister! A man who dedicated himself to trashing a hero! MY HERO! He has defended us, Night Raid, our world, this Planet, and what has he gotten in return? A bunch of ungrateful, sycophantic mush-mouths who couldn't tell their ass from their cheekbones! We appreciate him for all he's done for us, he's earned our trust and our loyalty, and he does not deserve this vitriol from the likes of you," Akame said, before grabbing Jimmy by the shoulder.

"Come on, Jimmy." Akame finished as she was officially done dealing with Harangue.

"Okay…?" Jimmy said, following Akame.

Of course, Sheele, however, blew raspberries at the Host to get the last laugh.

Will narrowed his eyes at the women who stormed out of his show, humiliated.

Back at Gwen's, Kevin laughed his ass off. They hunched forward, clutching the pit of his stomach to capture some air.

"Something really has Jimmy spooked, and the Night Raiders are upset. I've only met Akame and Sheele for only a little while, but even they seem spooked about this," Gwen said, before turning to her boyfriend, "Maybe we should check it out."

"Yeah, but he's gonna lie about Ben some more while his girlfriends are in the building and I want to see…" Kevin began until Gwen crossed her arms and shot him a sharp glare.

"I can DVR," Kevin said, defeated.

At night, the three investigators arrived at a supermarket. The lot was empty and the store was quiet. It was eerie to the two assassins, so much so that Akame's hand was on the hilt of her Murasame and Sheele's to her Extace.

"Stupid show!" Jimmy said, turning to the two women who were looking around.

"What's wrong?" Jimmy asked.

"Forgive us, we…still have not made ourselves acclimated to your world. The silence oftentimes is considered for opportunists to ambush us," Sheele said.

"Oh, you don't have to be scared! It's safe!" Jimmy said with a cheeky smile.

"Jimmy, at night, the cleanest of towns are often the dirtiest," Akame said, walking with Jimmy.

Akame and Sheele entered the massive supermarket; their reaction to it was nothing more than like a child in awe and wonderment.

There was food that could feed a small village. Something that excited the bottomless pit that was Akame.

"Ben is fortunate," Sheele said.

"Jimmy, can we get something from here?" Akame asked.

"Um sure! I'mma be at the peanut area," Jimmy said, unaware of Akame's bottomless stomach.

Sheele slowly entered as the breeze brushed against her like a stream of cold water. The calm music relaxed her as she looked around.

Jimmy picked a bag of peanuts from the main aisle. His mind was at ease until he heard a familiar voice.

"I wish you'd just come to me, Jimmy," said an eerie, familiar voice. Jimmy's eyes bulged and turned to see a beautiful, young, curvaceous woman. She had short blonde hair with two long tufts that framed the sides of her head and golden eyes. She wore a revealing outfit with a black tube top, detachable sleeves with what looked like gold bands, pants, boots and a scarf around her neck. She had a sick, sadistic smile on her face. She had her hands on her hips, licking her lips as she stared at her prey, like a lion to a zebra at a hot savannah.

"My, my," Leone said with a cheeky smile, "Look at what we got here? A new victim!" She popped her knuckles.

A/N: Leone vs Jimmy! Leone vs Akame. Sheele vs Ben! You guys are gonna be spoiled! Whoo wee! Happy New Year, or…so they say. Lol

Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed this chapter as much as I had enjoyed writing it! Please always leave reviews, they are always appreciated!

P.S.: Also! Shouts out to my friend and editor Toy2711 for once again editing this Chapter!

Toy2711: Yep. Also, fun fact, if you've read the part where Sheele and Will Harangue argue about Ben? You know that subtle reference to that scene between Tobey Maguire and JK Simmons in the Daily Bugle from Sam Raimi's 2002 Spider-Man Film if you've got what I mean. You'll understand it eventually!
