John: Sick

Amelia sipped on her morning tea, gazing absently across to her TV that was playing the morning headlines for the day. Sherlock sat rather grumpily beside her on the couch, scowling deeply and glaring darkly at the softly playing TV screen as if it was mocking him for his current change in morning routine. It was almost amusing, really.

"How's John?" she asked once she was sure she wasn't about to giggle into her teacup, keeping her gaze firmly on the TV screen, not that she was overly interested in hearing about the current drama going down in the football world.

"Still ill," Sherlock replied stiffly, his own voice still a little congested.

It had only been a few days since he had practically been bedbound himself with the flu that had been wreaking havoc on Baker Street. Just when it seemed as if John might have escaped it…he'd started coughing. Amelia did feel rather guilty, she had to admit, given that she was the first one to come down with it and had likely given it to the boys, but…these things happen sometimes and especially when you work so closely with your neighbours. At least they hadn't had a case.

"Still locked in his bedroom?" she lifted a brow, again struggling not to laugh.

His expression darkened, "Yes".

She smiled very slightly and took a hasty sip of her tea. Honestly, she didn't blame John for taking getting sick as an excuse to lock himself up inside his room. It did have a rather curious impact on Sherlock, though. Suddenly, Mister Doesn't-Need-Anyone had began hanging out with her. It was rather hilarious, but she had refrained from commenting on it, hard as it was not to, for the sake of not getting into an argument. She supposed they all dealt with being ill in their own ways.

I mean…if John got sick, is he really going to expect someone to look after him? He'd so lock himself in his room and avoid Sherlock, probably because there's a high chance Sherlock will drag him out of the flat on a case, and as for Amelia, much as he loves her, he's just not in the mood to be dealing with her cheeky sense of humour or chatter. Hope you liked it, tell me what thought :)
