(Clementine's Pov)
It's been a whole month and currently I was looking at AJ and Violet as they were looking to the ground and I scold them. They had thought it was a good idea to not tell me they were leaving the cabin for a bit and in the end result, we had to deal with a bunch of Walkers because these idiots found a grenade. I shake my head a bit at this and I look to the side a bit and then back to them as they looked to the ground.
"I have to be honest the fact you two found a grenade is a little impressive but what the fuck?" I asked and they look to me.
"I swear we thought it was a dud." Violet tells me and I glare at her a bit as I crossed my arms.
"You're supposed to be the responsible one out of you two." I remind her and she looked back to the ground and muttered something and I frown a bit.
"Care to repeat that?" I asked and she looked to me and then shook her head and I nod.
"Honestly Mitch would be proud." She tells me and then I see her and AJ give each other a high-five and I place my hand to my face and looked to them.
"Did you hit your head on something Violet?" I asked.
"No not that I know of." She tells me and I groan a bit.
"Well, we have a bunch of Walkers around us so we have to wait for the herd to pass before we can go back outside, since someone was supposed to get supplies for a makeshift wall." I say as I look to her and she smiled a bit and looked to the side. Honestly, she was acting like a kid at this point.
"Come on, you have to admit it was pretty cool, right AJ?" She asked him and he nods then looks to me and shakes his head no quickly and I couldn't help but smile a little.
"Ok it was pretty cool; you should have seen it." AJ admits and I look to the both of them.
"Well, the crater is proof enough of that, but since you both decided to do something stupid like blowing up something, so I have no choice but to ground you two." I tell them.
"Woah hold on, you can't ground me." Violet says and I look to her and raise a brow.
"You act like a child you get treated like a child, you're grounded, sorry but those are the rules." I tell her.
"She is right though, that is one of our rules." AJ tells her and she looked to the both of us.
"Well, I say I'm not grounded." She tells me and I uncrossed my arms and I place them on my hips.
"Care to rethink your statement, or shall I remind you that you are still not well?" I tell her as I poked her side and she hissed a bit.
"OK, ok, sorry, fine I'll take the grounding." She mutters as she held her side a bit and I nod.
"Since you wanted to try and get out of it, you have two weeks instead of the usual one." I tell her and she was about to say something but then shut her mouth as I raised up three fingers. She nods and I nod as well and then got to work on lunch. I see a few Walkers by the window and I take a breath as I closed the blinds and Violet lights up a few candles with AJ's help. I was just making something simple, a stew really with the deer meat Violet had gotten for us, with AJ's help of course. We were planning on using rabbit but sadly none were in the traps this time.
"Am I really grounded?" Violet asked as she came up to my side and I nod as I kept working.
"Yep, I'm not joking, that was dangerous for the both of you, you still have a limp, you can't run as fast as you use to, what if you got hurt? What if the grenade went off to early?" I asked her.
"Ok, ok I get it, it was dangerous for us to do that but come on, we can't be in a constant state of fear, plus it was better than… I don't know falling from a rusted fence?" She says and I looked to her as she shrugged and I shake my head a bit.
"Shut it you goof." I tell her as I smile a little. I hear her chuckle a bit and then I feel her hand on my back.
"You keep calling me a goof." She says and I nod.
"Because you are." I tell her.
"I remember you calling AJ, Goofball… why is that?" She asked and I think and smile.
"Just what I called him since he was a baby… it just stuck." I tell her as I shrugged.
"So, like he didn't have to be dumb like me to be called Goofball?" She asked.
"Well, he was a baby so he was goofy looking to me." I tell her.
"Ah so I look goofy?" She asked and I laughed a bit.
"Sure, let's go with that." I tell her and she laughed and I look to her a bit as she rubbed my back a bit.
"If you think being sweet is going to unground you for the second week you are surely mistaken." I tell her and she mutters a damn and I smile a bit.
"Well, I tried and trying is half the battle." She tells me.
"I thought it was Knowing not trying is half the battle." I tell her and she thinks.
"You are right, but I'm using it my own way." She tells me and I smile.
"OK, well can you wash the vegetables while I finish cutting the meat?" I asked her and she nods a bit. I think a bit before she left my side and I kissed her cheek and she looked to me a bit and I get back to work on cutting the meat. I hear her washing the vegetables and as I finished cutting the meat as she brings the vegetables over. I thank her and she nods and we got to work on cooking the food together. I hold the spoon out to her as she took a sip and thinks.
"Could go for a little salt." She says and I nod and I take a sip myself and think.
"Oh, yeah defiantly needs salt." I say in agreement and we added some salt and tasted it again and we both nod at this.
"Wish we had some more seasonings; I think it would be better." I tell her and she nods.
"When my grandpa got deer meat from his neighbor, he put all these seasonings on it the night before and then he'd cook it in a skillet, made his own gravy too it was good." Violet tells me and I hear her stomach growl and we both laughed.
"Well lunch is almost done, go relax." I tell her and she doesn't move. I look to her and she placed her hand back to my back and she looked to me.
"No, I'm fine." She tells me and I nod a bit and we get back to work. When lunch was done, we go to the living room and I hand AJ his bowl and he thanks me and I look to his sketchbook. He was drawing some birds and I take a seat next to Violet on the other side of the coffee table. We eat our food and AJ was drawing and eating.
"So, whatcha drawing?" Violet asked.
"Birds and landscape, I've gotten better see." He says as he showed her his drawings and she nods as she flipped through the pages.
"Wow this is really good." She says as she flipped the pages in the book and I look to the drawings on the pages. He has gotten good, hell he is almost to my level, I couldn't stop him from drawing, he loves it, and he said it reminded him of Tennessee and how he taught him. I look to AJ as Violet hands the booklet back and he nods as they talked for a bit. I feel a hand on top of mine and I do a simple side glance to Violet as she talked to AJ and ate her food a bit.
"You plan on drawing more? honestly you could basically make a map of the whole world one day." She says to him.
"I have drawn some places we have been to, we mark them on maps too, like when we passed in Canada." He tells her and I look to him a bit as he grabbed his other sketchbook and showed her the maps we collected and his drawing of the area we marked on the maps.
"Oh wow, this is amazing." She says as she flipped through the pages with her free hand. I gently grip the one on mine and she grips it back as well. When we finished Lunch Violet got up as AJ took his book back. She grabbed the bowls and went to go clean them. AJ looked to me and I smiled at him.
"Hey remember that museum we went to?" I asked and he nods.
"Yeah, the one with all those art displays? You think one day I can have my art in those buildings?" He asked and I smile and nod. Violet comes back and takes a seat next to me.
"I hope so, but it might take some time." I tell him and he nods.
"I know, we have to get rid of the Walkers, though they are dying out a bit." He says.
"Yeah, but then we have to worry about people just dying." Violet says and we look to her and then looked to each other.
"Yeah, that's true, only method we have is to take them out before they turn." I mutter and then AJ looked to his drawings a bit and then he looked to Violet who was looking at the table a bit.
"Oh, shit I'm sorry." I say and she shakes her head.
"It's fine, really it is." She says and I look to her and she nods a bit and I nod as well. AJ was showing her his current drawing and he even gave her some paper so she could doodle on it as well. He also handed me a piece of paper and I draw a bit as well, this is what we did for a while and I see Violet looking over at my drawing and then she went back over to her own drawing. I shake my head a bit at this and I go back to drawing and AJ leans over the table.
"Hey, when the herd is gone can we go fishing again?" AJ asked.
"You want fish? I'm surprised you aren't sick of it yet." I say and violet chuckled a bit.
"Well, it's fun." He says and I look to Violet a bit.
"We should get some fishing poles we could get bigger fish if we had a boat too." She lists off.
"We can use the canoe, right?" I asked and she thinks.
"We could, actually I think it would be best since it doesn't disrupt the waters a lot." She says and then she gets back to drawing. I nod and we get back to our work and then she shows me her work and I laughed a little as she shows me her 'Awesome stick figure art' as she calls it. I did look at her flowers though, she was amazing when it came to drawing flowers at least.
"I'm going to go take a nap. My side is killing me." She tells us and I nod as I helped her up and she went to the room and I look to AJ as he looked to me.
"What?" I asked.
"Nothing, so when did you two get back together?" He asked and I shake my head.
"We aren't together AJ." I tell him as I take a seat on the floor again.
"You sure about that?" He asked and I nod.
"Ok." He says and shrugged. I raise a brow at him and he looked to me.
"Well, you two seem like you are on better terms I mean… how do I explain it?" He mutters the last part and I sighed.
"AJ it's… it's a little complex, just know that we aren't together and just enjoy each other's company." I tell him.
"Aren't couples always like that? I mean that one group we were in before people didn't show much when it came to being with someone." He says and I rubbed my head a bit.
"That's just how they are in that particular group, besides Violet and I agreed we weren't going to get back together." I tell him.
"Grown ups are weird." He says and I nod.
"Yeah well… Yeah." I sighed and went back to drawing.
"You still care for her though." He says and I nod.
"Yeah, I do." I tell him.
"I'm not saying you two have to get back together but it just seems like she makes you happy and you make her happy." He tells me and I look to the paper a bit.
"Are you watching us?" I asked him.
"No, just that I've noticed it, and it's not a bad thing to be happy, you have been alone for so long it's good to have someone familiar with you right?" He asked and I nod a little at this.
"Yeah, but things happen, granted yes, we can get back together since technically we don't have to deal with Louis… but it still… like I've said before, relationships are weird people do dumb stuff… Like Kate, she had feelings for Javier but he didn't have feelings for her, she ended up saying something in the worst situation possible, making Javier and David fight, or at least David fought his brother." I explain to him.
"So, Louis wanted you two to fight?" He asked and I think.
"Well, he wanted Violet to break things off with me because he thought that since Minerva at the time was alive then… Then Violet should have broken things off." I tell him.
"But Minerva changed, does he still not get that?" AJ asked.
"I don't think he fully understood, or still doesn't understand… He's just angry at this." I tell him.
"Well, he needs to grow up." He says and I laughed a bit.
"I'm not saying you're wrong or right, but I have to agree." I tell him.
"You should be happy." He tells me and I look to him a bit and he nods and I sighed.
"I am happy with what I have, no need to be greedy." I tell him and he shrugged and I look back to the papers.
"I should take a nap too." I tell him and he nods.
"I'm going to lay down in a bit." He says and I nod and place my hand to his head and then head to the room. I open the door and see Violet laying on the bed with her back facing the door and I closed it gently. I go and I lay in the bed, I was facing the door and I closed my eye a bit before I feel a hand on my side. I feel the hand move more as it was trying to hug me and I feel Violet place her head to my back a bit as she mutters something.
"What was that?" I asked her quietly.
"Hmmm, Walkers are dumb." She mutters and I laughed a bit. I know that's not what she said but I wasn't going to say anything. I feel the ring on her finger and I grabbed her hand gently and mess with the ring on her finger and she grabbed my hand gently.
"Hmm, tired." She mutters.
"How tired?" I asked.
"Tired." She mutters and I roll my eye a bit and closed my eye.
"Then go to sleep." I tell her.
"Hmm, no." She tells me and I sighed. I turned around to see her with her eyes closed and I place my hand to the scars on her face. They weren't that bad anymore and she was ok without her patch being on, or at least she says she is ok without it.
"Your hand is cold." She mutters.
"Well good, cause you're still a furnace." I tell her and she sighs a bit.
"Go to sleep, we are going to have a lot to do after the Walkers leave." I tell her and she groans a bit.
"Stupid Walkers… Wish we could just burn them all you know." She says and I nod as I rubbed her cheek gently. She moves a little closer and I look down to her as her face was in my chest.
"Hmmm, Smart but also dumb… like the grenade." I tell her and she groans.
"Let it go." She mutters and I laughed a bit as I hold her to me and she holds me back.
"Nope, you're still grounded…. Maybe I should take away cuddle privileges." I tell her.
"You wouldn't dare." She mutters and I smile a bit as I tried to move but she pulled me back.
"No." she says and I moved back closer to her. She nuzzles me a bit and I just hold her and look out the window.
"Though it is nice to take a break for a bit." I tell her and she nods.
"See our stupidity was actually a good thing, it's like a day off." She says and I gently hit her back and she laughed. I didn't say anything and neither did she as she finally fell asleep and I look down at her a bit. I slowly close my eye and I finally fall asleep as I held her close to me. When I did wake up I felt Violet pulling me close to her as I tried to move. I look down to her a bit but she was still sleeping because she was snoring a bit. I couldn't help but giggle at this and roll my eye as I looked back out the window. The sun was starting to set for the day and I saw the shadow of the Walkers pass by. Since it was so quiet they didn't come close to the window to try and break it at least. I hear a gently tap at the door and Violet shifts a bit and I sighed a little.
"Yes AJ?" I whispered and he opened the door a crack as he poked his head in. it's not like this is the first time he saw us like this, I was thanking any god that we had our clothes on this time at least.
"Was wondering if you wanted me to heat up the stew for dinner." He asked.
"Sure, might be a bit before Violet actually wakes up." I whisper to him and he nods as he closed the door. I feel Violet nuzzle me a little more and I look down at her as she mutters in her sleep a bit. I hugged her a little more and she stops as she relaxed a bit. I don't know how long we were like this but she finally did wake up and I looked to her as she moved a little closer to me.
"Well how was your nap?" I asked her quietly.
"Don't know… can't remember the dream." She says quietly and I smile a little at her.
"Well not everyone can remember their dreams." I tell her.
"No like… it was just all black, like I had no dream." She whispers and I place my hand on the back of her head. I didn't say anything and neither did she. I rubbed the back of her head gently and she sighed a bit and I could smell the stew.
"Hmm, think you can go for some dinner?" I asked as she sits up a bit in bed and she held her side a bit.
"Your side still hurts?" I asked.
"A little but it's going to take a bit of time… damn bitch got me good." She mutters and I kissed the side of her head and she looked to me.
"Well, you got her back." I tell her and she nods at this.
"Yeah, that is true… anyway I smell dinner." She says and I nod as I get up and out of the bed. we head to the living room and eat our fill of stew and I lay my head on the cushion of the couch and I close my eye as I tried to think. I have no idea what I was to think about, I had a lot on my mind if I was to be honest.
"So, I will say after the Walkers are gone, we can go fishing, maybe head back to the school for a bit to see how everyone is doing, well unless they come to check on us." Violet tells AJ and he nods.
"Then we have to go into town and try and grab some supplies to make a fence at least." AJ states and I nod at this.
"Right… ok we head there and see if we can borrow those cage things the raiders so graciously left us." She mutters a bit and I place my hand on her shoulder.
"We could see if we could get some other stuff to make a wall." She mutters a bit. It took about a day for the Walkers to finally leave and we were currently walking to the school. AJ was ahead of us and I was walking next to Violet. She still had that limp and I sighed a bit.
"Are you ok?" She asked and I look to her a bit.
"Yeah just… you limping." I mutter.
"Hey honestly it's better than losing a leg… oh shit I mean-."
"Oh no I get it, you are right, still hard for me to run with this thing." I tell her as we walked more. We finally get to the school and Ruby checked up on Violet who rolled her eyes and let Ruby check her.
"Any pain?" Ruby asked her.
"A pinch here and there, nothing to bad but if I keep relaxing when it hurts then it's fine." She tells her and Ruby looked to me.
"Trust me, she wasn't allowed to do a lot of work while I was around, even though she tried, don't think I forgot about that boulder." I say and Violet looked away.
"It was a rock not much of a boulder." She mutters.
"The damn thing was bigger than you and you tried to push it down the cliff for fun." I tell her.
"Would have made a huge splash in the water, it would have been epic had you not interrupted me." She says and Ruby laughed at this.
"Seems like you were having fun." She says.
"Oh no, not fun these two picked up a grenade and cause the Walkers to come." I tell her and she laughed at this.
"You found a grenade? Well gave us a bit of a break." She says and Violet smiles.
"See it was a good thing, the best thing." She says and I place my hand to my face.
"I swear to god." I mutter.
"Anyway, you seem well enough, just don't over work yourself is all." Ruby tells her. I go and help AJ with the cage and I see violet talk to Ruby who nods and then she leaves and Violet comes over to AJ and I. we got to work and then took the cage into town and grabbed all the supplies we needed. I looked around the area a bit as we were putting the fencing in the cage and then I look to AJ and Violet.
"Everything good Clem?" AJ asked and I see them both looking at me.
"Yeah, just a little quiet if you ask me." I tell them and helped them a bit.
"Yeah, you are right, it is a little quiet." Violet says as she looked around.
"Let's just get this stuff back to the cabin." I say and they nod as we head on back to the cabin. When we set all the stuff to the side of the house, we took the cart back and Ruby handed Violet something and we headed on back home. Again, AJ was in front of us and I look to Violet a bit.
"So, what did Ruby give you?" I asked her as we walked.
"Oh just a few joints, and some seeds for the garden we have, think we could also plant an apple tree." She says as she showed me the seeds and I smile a bit and shake my head.
"Sure, just an apple tree?" I asked.
"Hey got to get you, your favorite." She says and I smile a little. I looked ahead of us and to AJ as he ran up to the cabin. Violet and him got to work on the fence and I helped as well. It wasn't much but it was better than nothing, I was helping Violet with the razor wire and AJ went to grab more wood post to put in the ground. It was hard work but at least we would have something to keep us at least a little safer. I looked over to Violet as she wiped some of the sweat from her face and she sighs as she looked to the rest of the posts and the cement.
"Think we should let these sit for a bit before we add more post AJ." Violet tells him and he nods but we did put the posts where they would go at least. AJ heads inside and Violet was looking to the posts a bit and I kissed her cheek and she looked to me and I smile a little at her.
"Been a bit lovey dovey lately hu?" She asked and I shrugged.
"Not really." I tell her.
"Oh, and last night was not-."
"Hush, we don't need to bring that up." I tell her as I covered her mouth and she chuckled.
"What? You cuddle a lot." She tells me as I moved my hand away.
"Says the one who didn't want cuddle privileges taken away." I tell her as I place my hands on my hips and she smirked at me.
"You have to admit, you enjoy the cuddling." She says and I looked away from her and she kissed my cheek. She then heads inside and I look to her as the door closed and I sighed a bit. I look to the sky a bit and it was a clear day at least. I go and take a seat on the porch and I look to the sky some more, shame there were no clouds out. I hear the door open and I look to see Violet as she takes a seat next to me groaning a bit.
"Getting old there hu?" I asked and she looked to me.
"Yeah, well I'm just three years older than you… or maybe two I can't remember." She mutters and I laughed a bit. She looked to the sky a bit and I look to it as well.
"Want some water?" She asked as she hands me a bottle and I look to it and then grabbed it gently. I look back to the sky a bit and take a drink from the bottle then set it to the side of me.
"Something has to be bothering you." She says and I shake my head.
"No, I just forget how quiet it can get after a herd of Walkers… Animals still in hiding and such… doesn't matter how long I've lived out here, it still gives me the wrong feeling." I tell her and I look to her as she nods.
"Yeah, it's still scary." She says and take a breath and looked to the posts a bit.
"You sure you're ok?" She asked and I sighed a bit.
"Are you ok?" I asked her and she looked to me.
"I asked first." She tells me and I sighed.
"Do you think… Ok I mean… what we are doing… is it ok?" I asked her and she raised her brow a bit.
"You mean bedroom talk or clean talk?" She asked.
"Hmmm, both I suppose." I tell her and she thinks.
"I mean as long as we're both ok with it then it's fine, consenting adults you know." She says as she shrugged and I look to her as she looked to the post a bit.
"Yeah but with our history." I tell her and she chuckles a bit.
"Like I said, if we're both ok with it then it's fine, people did it all the time when the world wasn't run by Dead Heads, though a lot of it was because of cheating." Se mutters and I shake my head.
"Well… I guess." I say quietly.
"Do you want to stop this?" She asked and I think. No I didn't want to stop but… Maybe I wanted a little more.
"What… it's stupid." I mutter.
"Talking things out may seem stupid when you think about it too much." She says and I look to my lap a bit and I clench my hands into fists. I think I have a right to be happy, I should be able to be with someone I like, I shouldn't have to be afraid. I look to her a bit then back to my hands.
"What if I want to get back with you?" I asked her and she stays quiet as the wind blew a bit. she looked to be thinking and then she sighs.
"I don't know-."
"I told you it was stupid." I say as I get up but she stopped me.
"Let me explain." She says and I take a seat and look to her.
"There are pros and cons to this situation, the pros are, we get to date, we get to have some fun, maybe get a dog and have like… thirty kids." She says and I laughed at that. She smiled and I look to her as I wipe my eye a bit.
"Thirty kids really?" I asked.
"Thirty-one?" She asked and I shoved her.
"You idiot." I mutter and she smiled.
"Ok, ok maybe one kid?" She asked and I point to the house.
"AJ." I tell her and she smiles and nods.
"Ok, what are the cons?" I asked.
"Hmmm, people will get jealous that I'm dating the coolest woman on earth, we could second guess a lot of things, and maybe one of us might try to do whatever to keep each other safe to the point it causes us both pain." She says and I look to her.
"Uh, more like one of us might try to pull some heroic shit that could make us make mistakes." She says and I think.
"But if I have to be honest, we are smarter than that." She tells me and I look to her and raise my brow a bit.
"Ok one of us is smart enough to not do that." She joked and I smiled a bit and shake my head.
"But… I don't know I guess I'm still scared when it comes to this stuff… I mean don't get me wrong I do like being with you, I really do… I guess that fight with you and Louis just made me keep thinking that it's stupid to try and keep going with our relationship." I tell her.
"Ah, I get it, that does tend to make people think a lot when that particular question arises." She says and I think and look to the ring on my finger. I frown a bit and then place my hand to my face and tried to think of something.
"But, if you keep living in the past actions of others, and basically with what happened you never get to enjoy the better things even in a world as fucked up as this." Se tells me and I look to her and she smiled a bit.
"It's up to you on what you want to do." She tells me and I think a bit.
"Could I have some time? I know I was the one to ask but." I stopped and looked to the side and she placed her hand on my shoulder.
"You take all the time you need… Hell even if I were to get bitten by a Walker tomorrow and you want to date me, I'll agree to it." She tells me and I frown a bit at that logic.
"That would be idiotic at best." I tell her.
"But romantic at worst." She says and laughed a bit.
"Please don't go trying to get bitten." I tell her.
"Oh no, I don't plan on dying soon, want to live old enough to freak out about grey hairs and see wrinkles on my face, maybe bitch about it." She says and I smile a bit and then giggle.
"You want all that?" I asked and she nods.
"Yeah, wouldn't you?" She asked.
"Yeah I suppose that would be a life well lived, get to be the many few that die from old age in this world." I say and she nods at this. We were quiet for a bit and I looked to Violet as she looked to the sky again. I place my hand on top of hers and she holds my hand a bit.
"You know I'd wait for you… might sound fucking cheesy as hell but I waited a long time to meet you, I can wait longer." She says and I think a bit and I nod.
"That was cheesy." I tell her and she chuckled.
"But it's true." She tells me and I think as I looked to the woods.
"But I have to admit it was a little romantic." I tell her and she chuckled a bit.
"You think?" She asked and I nod at this.
"Yep… you goof." I say as I shoved her and she looked down to me and I smile.
"Just give yourself time to think about it, I already have my answer for you." She says as she taps her head. She then gets up and gets back to work on the fence and I get up to help her. AJ comes out and sets the posts in the ground after Violet dug the holes and we got half way done before we decided to stop for some lunch. We decided to sit outside and eat, it was a nice day out and I didn't want it to end. No Walkers around to cause problems, no having to worry about other people finding us deep in the woods. It was one of those perfect moments where you forget the world actually ended, that no one is hurt, we're safe and we're happy. When we finished lunch, we got back to work and we finally finished the fence with some daylight to spare.
Violet and AJ were working on the garden and had decided that we would all go fishing tomorrow, that way we could get some more bait for the fish. It was a good thing we had gone into town since we got the fishing supplies when we got the fence and posts. I look over to them as Violet was telling Ajit might be a little harder for us and growing crops since it wasn't like the greenhouse back at the school. she also told him that we could build one when he suggests we should. We did make sure we made the fencing big enough to fit a whole greenhouse but we were going to make a makeshift one before we could build an actual sturdy one.
"Will it be as big as the one at the school?" AJ asked as I go over to them to help.
"Nah, can't make it too big, have to keep some room for the apple tree we're going to plant." She tells him and he nods at this.
"Apples are good, we even had some oranges when we got to Florida." He tells her.
"Well have you ever had a peach?" She asked and he thinks.
"The fuzzy fruit we had while in Georgia." I tell him and he nods.
"Yeah, I didn't like the skin though, too fuzzy." He says sticking his tongue out and I smile.
"That's why I suggested you peel it first." I tell him and Violet smiles at him and pats his back.
"You'd probably love nectarines; it looks like a peach but not fuzzy." She tells him and he nods. She then tells him all the other fruits he should try but sadly a lot of it didn't grow in this area so we couldn't get any seeds even if we wanted to try and grow them here. I watch as AJ planted the seeds and Violet would place the dirt over it, and then AJ would water the seeds a bit. I worked on tilling a bit and I look back to them and I smiled at this. When we finished, the stars had finally started to come out so we head inside and I work on dinner. AJ went back to his drawing and Violet was helping me. We had a nice dinner if I was going to be honest. We then headed to bed and I look to Violet as she looked down to me. She had her hand on my waist and I place my head under her chin as we just relaxed and tried to fall asleep.
I could hear her snoring a bit as I thought back to everything that has happened. I thought I would lose her when she came back losing a lot of blood. I think to how scared I was, and how scared I still get when she tries to over work herself just to keep AJ and I safe here. I do love her, I love being around her, if I have to be honest, she is the best thing to ever happen to me, not saying AJ isn't but this is different. She made me feel safe, she made me feel like I could do anything. I love how stupid she could be sometimes; I love how she could have fun around me. I love how AJ and her got along, he looks up to her as much as he looks up to me. she was kind to him, listens to him and helps him when he needs it. No one ever took that time with him, and it warmed my heart up a bit.
I slowly move my head up a bit and feel Violet's grip on me tighten as she mutters some incoherent words and I smiled a bit. I gripped the front of her shirt a bit and I see the necklace. She could have just thrown the ring away when I left but she didn't. She kept it even though I hurt her. Why would she still like me, was her answer going to be no? I men we agreed to not date but she did say she would wait for me. I gripped her shirt more and I feel Violet move her head a bit so that my head was closer to her. I close my eye as I tried to get some sleep for our fishing trip tomorrow.
