(Violet's Pov)
The sounds of the water gently hitting the canoe was a peaceful sound. No harsh winds, no storms coming, nothing bad. It was just one of the rare days where we could all relax and not worry much. I look over to Clementine as she was helping AJ cast out his line and I look back to my fishing pole a bit then to the waters. I feel the little boat tip a bit as Clementine came over to me and I hand her, her fishing pole and she nods in thanks. Guess you can say we had a silent agreement that this moment was just to be quiet. I look to the line a bit and feel the wind as we just sat here.
I feel Clementine move a little closer to me and I look down to her and she seemed content so I didn't say anything. We had caught a few fish and we set them in the cooler that we filled with some water, when I put the last fish in the cooler we rowed back to shore and I helped Clem out and then AJ. I grabbed the cooler and AJ wanted to carry it but he realized the cooler was a bit big and heavy for him. Clem giggles a bit and I smile at her as I carried the cooler and we head back to the cabin. Once inside AJ went and got the knives so we could clean and cut the fish for dinner tonight and I think about what we should make.
AJ decided to go outside for a bit as I cleaned the fish, Clem of course telling him to be careful as she comes over to help me. When we finished, I looked to the guts of the fish and we go and throw it out far from the cabin so Walkers wouldn't come close to us and our home. I look to the trees a bit as the wind blew again and I chuckled a bit as Clem went and picked up one of the many leaves that fell to the ground.
"Having fun?" I asked.
"Hmm, I just think today is a day for rest and relaxation don't you think?" She asked and I nod a bit and we head back to the cabin. We head back inside and get to work on making some fish stew and as that was cooking, I tell Clementine that I was going to go check on the garden real quick. I head out there and check to see the plants thriving and I sigh a bit in relief, at least now we won't have to go to the school to get vegetables once we get the garden flourishing. I think a bit as I look to the house and then head back inside.
"Hey mind if I go and get Marlon?" I asked Clem as she turned to look at me.
"What for?" She asked.
"Well, he was able to get the electricity working back at the school, want to see if he can help us get some here you know." I suggested and she thinks a bit.
"Sure, better than using the fireplace on summer nights." She says and I nod as I go over to her and kissed her head gently. I then go and grabbed my rifle and head on to the school. I passed AJ as he was coming back with some rocks he had found and I pat him on the head and asked if he wanted to come with me. He agrees and runs to the cabin and I wait for him. When he came back we head on over to the school and Willy let's us in and we head over to Marlon.
"Hey what's up you two?" He asked.
"Nothing much was wondering if we could see if we can get some electricity to the cabin." I tell him.
"Sure I can help with that." He says and I nod.
"Hey before you guys head off, mind getting something from the town?" Omar asked and I nod as he hands me a list and I read it over.
"Sure, we can do that." I say and he thanks us and I set the note in my vest pocket. When Marlon comes back we head to the cabin and he looks around a bit and we find the breaker bocks and checks the wires just to make sure they were good. Some of the wires he found were worn and so we had to head into town to get some supplies.
"Hmm, lunch smells good." I comment as I look over to Clementine.
"Hope so, so you guys heading to town?" She asked and I nod.
"Yeah, got to get stuff for the wires and make sure the breaker isn't completely fried, should be an easy fix once we get the water running through here too." Marlon says and I nod.
"Plus, Omar needs some stuff so we will be gone a little longer." I tell her and she nods.
"Well, be careful." She says and I nod as we head on out to go to town. As we were looking for supplies, I went into a store to look for Omar's stuff and scratched my head a bit as I grabbed a backpack and set the stuff in it.
"Find anything good?" AJ asked and I turn to look at him.
"Hmm, not really, moths got to a lot of the clothes here that and Walkers just coming through and damaging whatever from the herd." I tell him as I grabbed some shirts that were at least fine. I think as I find a sewing kit and set that in the bag as well. When we finished up, we were about to head back till we hear something in the distance and I look to Marlon as we take AJ and hide in one of the stores.
"You know this place has nothing good weapon wise." I hear and I slowly lift my head up to see how close the people were. I didn't see anyone so I duck back down before the people could see me if they passed on by. I look down to AJ as he held his pistol and I look to Marlon as he had his knife out. I made sure my rifle was good to go and we quietly head to the back room of the building and we closed the doors.
"I don't think they'll head back here; they seem to be looking more in the gun shops." Marlon says and I nod at this.
"We don't know how many people are here though, can't just be two people if they travel around a lot, they have to have a group." I say and the two boys nod and I think.
"Look best thing we can do is stay put for now, if they don't know we're here we'll be fine." Marlon says and I sighed and nodded. It was the only option we had for now, no point in getting hurt just for the people to find out where we lived.
"Who do you think they are?" AJ asked.
"Well, they might be part of that caravan that we worked with but they don't sound familiar." Marlon suggests.
"They could be new to the group, so they don't know us, would still be dangerous if they're more worried on getting weapons." I tell him and he nods. We then hear some talking as it got close to us and I wanted to groan but Marlon and I head over to the door just in case. We made sure AJ was hidden though so if they found us, then only Marlon and I would be caught and he could escape back to the school or cabin.
"This is bullshit, nothing here, towns been picked of the good stuff." A man says.
"Hey it's better than nothing, we can grab some clothes for the kids at least." A woman says and I raised my brow a bit and look to Marlon as he looked to me.
"You mean those kids at the school? I think they'd be adults by now." The man says.
"Well, they had a kid there he might be nine or ten now, would be nice to give them some stuff, they have a greenhouse." The woman says. At this point they seemed good so I opened the door and I see the man and woman as they look to us.
"Oh shit, hey we didn't know anyone was here." The woman says and I just nod.
"Um… well this is awkward." The man says and I shake my head.
"Are you part of the caravan?" I asked and Marlon comes out too.
"Yeah, we were told that kids at the school trade stuff… are you part of the school?" The man asked and I shake my head.
"No, well I mean I was but I live somewhere else, you guys, ok?" I asked.
"Yeah, we are, uh we were just hoping we could trade for some vegetables." The woman says and I look to Marlon and he nods.
"Sure, so are you guys just passing through?" Marlon asked as we walked out and AJ came up beside me.
"Yeah, the caravan said to pass though this way and I think we got a little lost, we're supposed to meet up with the others in Georgia, just more ground to cover." The woman says and I nod.
"Have you been to Savanna?" AJ asked.
"Actually, yes I have, was filled to the brim with Walkers when I first got there." The woman says and I nod a bit.
"Shit so did our friend well when she was a kid and with her old group." I tell her and she looked to me.
"Oh? That's interesting." She says and I nod.
"Yeah, she's left the school before?" The woman asked and I shake my head.
"Nah, she joined up with us a while ago but she comes and goes." Marlon tells her and the woman looked like she was thinking. She looked like she wanted to ask more questions but she also looked like she didn't want to know the answer.
"Um… I know this is a long shot but uh… she wouldn't happen to have the letter D embroidered on a hat would she?" The woman asked and I look to her.
"And her name would be Clementine?" She asked and I stopped and looked to her as she looked to me.
"You know her?" I asked.
"She's been here? Is she at the school?" The woman asked.
"No, she's not at the school, but how do you know her, she said everyone she knows is dead." I tell her.
"Of course she would think I was dead, look I knew here when she was with Lee, I'm Christa… she might have mentioned me… maybe?" She asked and I think and I nod.
"Yeah, you had a husband, Omid, right?" I asked and she nods.
"She talked about him?" She asked and I nod.
"She talks a lot about the people that were good to her, she said you guys were in a bit of trouble cause of a weasel?" I asked.
"Ah right, yeah these people wanted to know if I had a group and I tried to keep them away from Clem and told them I was on my own." She tells me and I think a bit.
"Wait you know Clementine?" The little boy asked and the woman Christa looked to him.
"Yeah… how do you know her?" She asked.
"Oh, I'm her son." He says and I sputter a bit and look to him then to Christa.
"Son?" She asked and he nods.
"AJ don't… well I mean… don't give her a heart attack." I tell him and he smiled.
"What? It's a harmless prank." He says and I see Christa sigh a bit.
"So like adopted son?" She asked.
"Sure, that would be the best way to put it." I tell her and she nods.
"Well, that's a relief." She says and I nod at this as we finally get to the school. Marlon goes and tells the others that the Caravan group was here for some vegetables and other stuff they were willing to trade. I look over to Christa a bit as she looked around the group.
"Hey Christa, you can come with AJ and I real quick." I say and she looked to me and nods. We then take her over to the cabin and AJ runs inside.
"HEY CLEM!" I called out and she comes out with AJ.
"No need to yell Vi-… Christa?" She asked and Christa goes up to her.
"Holy shit… you've… damn you've grown up a lot." Christa says and Clem nods.
"I thought that group… how?" Clem asked and I go over to them.
"Well, they did stab me in the leg, but when the Walkers came they ran off." Christa explained to her.
"Haha, you get stabbed, I got bitten." Clem laughed and Christa looked to her and then Clem lifted up her pant leg a bit to show her fake leg.
"Oh, dear god." Christa says and Clem nods.
"Yeah, but I also got bit by a dog not long after we got separated, check it." Clem says as she moved her sleeve up to show off her scars and Christa looked to Clem's wounds a bit and then she noticed the brand.
"You're part of the New Frontier?" Christa asked.
"Oh no, I mean I was when I was thirteen, but they just stranded me because I gave AJ here some medicine, let me tell you, they were moronic to let a drugged-up doctor take the lead on who get's what, honestly he was taking all the good stuff and they still kept him." Clem tells her and Christa looked worried.
"But it's all fine, me and this other group basically got rid of most of them, but people know not to fuck with me." Clementine tells her.
"Uh so that uh… the kid said he's your son?" Christa asked.
"Oh AJ? Well, I suppose you could say he's like my son, I met up with his parents' old group shortly after we got separated and I got bit by a dog, they thought it was a Walker bite and locked me in a shed." She tells the older woman who looked to her in shock and Clem waved it off.
"No harm was done." She tells her.
"And your eye?" Christa asked and Clem tells her about the man Carver and how she bashed his skull in with a crowbar. Christa looked like she wanted to say something but she doesn't and I look to Clementine.
"And the school group?" She asked as she looked to me.
"Oh, we had our ups and downs but they are good people, just had a lot of issues, especially that one." She says as she pointed to me and I smirk at her.
"Oh yeah? Last I checked you went through more shit than me, you ain't no angle." I tell her and she smiled at me a bit.
"Regardless, they are good people, no need to worry about them, they helped me a lot, even took care of AJ for me when I left." She tells the woman.
"So, you live out here?" Christa asked and Clem nods.
"Yep, just Me, AJ and Violet here, you like it?" She asked her and Christa nods.
"At least you are finally settling down right?" Christa asked her and Clementine nods at this.
"Yeah can't do much with a lost limb, besides I can go and come as I please now, but at least I know I have a place to come back too… honestly when I got here I thought it would be just like every other group, but it's not." She tells the older woman who nods at this and then she looked to me and I look to Clementine.
"So what else has happened?" Christa asked her and Clementine tells her almost everything about her past, up to the point about the raiders boat blowing up.
"Wait so you saw Lily?" Christa asked and Clem nods.
"Yeah, she changed a lot, but she's not around anymore." Clementine tells her and I lean on the porch a bit and Christa looked to me.
"So, one of your friends was traded?" She asked me and I nod.
"Well, a friend and an Ex." I tell her.
"Oh, I'm sorry, losing a boyf-." Before she could finish, I laughed a bit and she raised a brow at me and Clem laughs a bit too.
"No, no it was a girlfriend, not boyfriend." I tell her.
"Oh, sorry I just." She stops and I nod.
"It's cool, she's dead too, Clem says she shot herself after she shot me off the cliff." I say and point to my eye a bit.
"Oh, so that's how your eye… wow just… you and them have been through a lot." Christa says and I nod.
"I mean to be fair we hate people older than us, bunch of adults left us except our nurse, so honestly if you came around the first few years, you might have gotten an arrow to the head." I tell her and she looked to me in shock and then to Clem who shrugs.
"I wouldn't know, I only got her like three years ago." She tells the woman who nods a bit.
"Though now that we're older and Clem here has been a big help, we're okish." I tell Christa who nods.
"So, I'm going to guess Lily was trying to take you all to join in the wars up north hu?" Christa says and we both nod.
"Yeah, that's the whole point of them coming here, though thanks to Clementine they didn't get a chance to take us." I tell her and she nods.
"Seems like you know what you're doing hu Clem?" Christa asked her and she nods.
"I still make mistakes but I know how to fight, and plan out tactics better than when I was thirteen, I use to not think about what happened when I went to save AJ from the Ranch group." Clem says and AJ comes over and I pat his head a bit.
"You know a few of them have been around in the war with a bunch of Whisperers, I'm not saying they'll come here but I'd be on your guard, they were planning to head west and further south." Christa tells us and I place my hand to my side a bit as I think.
"Well we should have enough time to get things ready, thanks for the heads up." I say to the woman who looked to AJ a bit then to me and then to Clementine.
"Mind if I chat with Clementine alone?" She asked and I look to Clem who nods a bit and I go and take AJ with me to the garden and he looked to the vegitables. He asked how long it would take and I explain to him that each one takes time to grow, but the tomato's should be done in about a week or two. I think a bit and I head into the house from the back and I grabbed an old farming book for him when I hear Clem talking.
"I know you worry but it's fine Christa, Violet has been taking care of me, and I've been taking care of her." I hear and I stay and listen.
"I'm just saying you and AJ could come with us, we're heading east and we heard there are boats, we could leave this continent." Christa tells her.
"As great as it seems I like it here, and I don't want to abandon this group, I already did before and I felt like shit." She tells her and I look to the ground a bit.
"Besides, if Violet can't come there's no point." Clem says and I look to the door a bit.
"Do you like her?" Christa asked.
"Is it bad to say I love her?" Clem asked and I hurry out the back door and head over to AJ and show him the book and we both read it. though he was having a little problem I helped him with reading it.
"C-Cucum…Cucumber." He sounds it out and I nod.
"Yep, say how about I get you some books to start reading more, they're based on grade levels so we can work you up." I tell him and he sighs.
"That would be great actually." He says and I nod. Clementine then calls for us to come back over so AJ and I head back over to the two and Christa looked to us.
"I have an offer for you guys." Christa says and I raise a brow at her.
"Would you guys want to come with us east? To get away from the supposed war?" She asked and I shake my head.
"No I'm good." I tell her.
"I like it here, plus we can beat anyone that tries to take our home." AJ tells her and she looked to Clementine. In all honesty Christa did look a little worried and I look to Clem and AJ and I think a bit.
"How about this, if we get into any trouble if you all come back this way then they can go with you." I tell her and she looked to me a bit and then nods.
"Alright, sounds fair." She says and I nod. I then go and take Christa back to the school where her friend had gotten some supplies and they end up leaving. I watched them a bit and then I look to Marlon as he came with me and we got to work on the house and I was digging up a section of the river with Clementine on the side and AJ helping.
"After this you need a bath mud creature." Clem says and I glare at her playfully and she smiled.
"Wait, is Princess Clem to scared to get dirty?" I asked.
"Will you two stop flirting." AJ says and I bust out laughing as he said he was heading to the house to watch Marlon work. I nod as does Clem and then I look to her and I get back to digging.
"And for your information Violet, I cover myself in rotten Walker guts and blood, I am far from scared of getting dirty." She tells me and I roll my eyes and I stabbed the shovel in the dirt and look to her.
"Well then come and give me a hug since you aren't scared of a little mud." I tell her and she shakes her head and laughs.
"Nope, I don't need to get dirty." She tells me and I get out of the ditch and go up to her as she looked to me.
"Don't you dare." She threatens and I smirk as I come up and hugged her and then picked her up as she laughed. She pulled back a bit and then she hit my chest a bit and I laughed some more.
"Come on I don't have a change of clothes." She says and I shake my head.
"Become a mud monster with me, together we can rule the swamps." I tell her.
"There are no swamps you dingus." She tells me.
"And here I thought I was your Goof." I tell her and she looked down to me and I smile at her.
"Oh, so you want to be my goof hu?" She asked and I nod a bit.
"Well today you are a dingus." She says and we both laughed. I look to her some more and she looked to me and then she cups my face and kisses me. I kissed her back and when we pulled apart, she looked to me and I smirk at her.
"Well, I'll allow myself to be called Dingus for a day." I tell her and she giggled and she placed her hands on my shoulders and I set her down gently and she looked to the side a bit and I let her go as I go back to work. Clementine comes over closer and I look up to her from the ditch and she just looked to me.
"You, ok?" I asked her and she takes a seat and I set the shovel back in the dirt and lean my back into the ditch.
"I… I just want you to know." She stopped and takes a breath and I tilt my head a bit.
"Does this have to be with what Christa offered?" I asked and she shook her head a bit.
"No." She says and she rubbed the back of her head a bit as she looked to me and I wait for her to speak. It was quiet as the wind blew a bit, the sounds the leaves made was calming as well. No walkers, the sounds of the birds freely flying and chirping. I look as a few birds did fly by and I look back to Clementine as she looked to me.
"I…" She stops again and I move away from the ditch and I go and take a seat next to her. She looked to her hands a bit and I see her messing with the ring on her finger and I gripped the necklaces I wore and I look to her.
"I love you." She tells me and I look to her. She didn't look at me as she kept messing with the ring and then she finally looked to me. I guess she was hoping I would say something but honestly what could I say? The fact that she admits she loves me, it was a bit of a shock but I was happy. I smile at her and she looked to the ring around my neck grabs it gently. I let go of the necklace and she takes it off of me and I watch her as she looked to it. She takes the ring off the chain I put it on and I just watched her as she messed with the ring more, and then she laughs a little.
"Hope your wife isn't jealous." She says and I think a bit and then laughed as I remembered my imaginary wife, Walker Becky.
"Oh, I think Becky is ok with it." I tell her and she laughs as well.
"I mean she would have to be." She says and I smile at her. I nod a bit and she looked to me a bit and then she looked back to the ring and she takes my hand and puts the ring on my finger and I look to her as she moved her hands away and places her hands to the ground as she leaned back a bit and looked to the sky. I look up as well and see the clouds and I lay back a bit on the ground and place my hands behind my head as a pillow. We stayed like this for a bit and I would look to her as she looked relaxed.
I take a breath as I get up and I get back to work. I wasn't able to get the ditch completely done, but I got a good portion done before I get out the ditch and Clementine helped me out. We head back to the cabin and Marlon comes out and leaves back to the school saying he'd be back once the ditch was done and I nod and thank him. We head inside and we eat dinner and AJ asked if he could go to the school tonight and we agreed and take him to the school. We explained that AJ wanted to come to the school for a bit and Ruby agreed to watch him and Willy goes over to the boy asking if he wanted to help make a fire cracker and I was going to say something but Clem stops me.
"It's fine, let him have fun." She tells me and I nod. I tell him to be careful and to listen to Willy and he agreed. Clem and I head on back to the cabin and for the night. We decided to just relax in the living room and Clementine was reading a book and I look over her shoulder from the couch and I read a few words of the book. Clementine then turns to look at me and I smiled a little at her and she kissed my cheek gently and I look to her. She looked to me and gently placed her hand to my cheek and I close my eyes as I lean into her palm. I open my eyes again and Clem moves her hand from my cheek and pats the spot next to her on the couch so I hop over it and take a seat next to her. She made my lay my head on her lap and I do and I close my eyes as she runs her fingers through my hair gently as she continued to read her book.
"I love you too." I tell her and I open my eyes to look at her. She looks down at me and smiles gently at me.
"I know." She says and I nod.
"Just wanted you to know." I tell her and she keeps running her hand through my hair. It was relaxing and I just felt like falling asleep. I guess I did because I open my eyes after I feel some shifting and I look to see I was facing Clementine's stomach and I moved a bit but Clementine placed her hand to the back of my head and started to rub it again and I feel her shift to the side a bit and then I feel her other hand on my back.
"Your side ok?" I hear and I nod a bit.
"Hmm." I mutter still a bit tired.
"Want to head to the bed?" She asked and I think a bit but I say nothing. She doesn't say anything but she kept rubbing my head and I close my eyes again about to fall asleep.
"Hmm, I don't know." I tell her and she giggles a bit and move closer to her.
"Come on let's head to bed, you're tired." She says and I slowly moved away and we head to the bedroom and I lay in the bed and I hear Clementine laugh a bit and she gets in the bed with me. I moved so my arm was laying on her stomach and she moved a bit and placed her hand back to my head. I feel her rub my head again and I moved closer to her and she giggled as I nuzzled her neck a bit.
"I have to be honest." She says quietly and I listen to her as she kept rubbing my head.
"I… I felt scared that… if I never told you then I'd regret not telling you I love you." She says and I moved a bit to look at her.
"And I do love you, I really do love you and… I'm still scared though." She tells me and I nod a bit at this. I know this was scary for her, I don't blame her at all for having these emotions at all. I place my hand on her face gently and she looked down a bit and then she pulls me to her and she hugged me gently. I then feel her hug me a little tighter and I moved a bit so I could hug her. When I moved, I was able to pull her to my chest and then I feel tears hit my shirt and she tightens her grip on my shirt.
"Hey, hey, it's ok." I tell her as she cried. I think a bit as I tried to calm her down.
"I feel… I just… I don't want to lose you." She tells me and I frowned a bit at this.
"You won't lose me." I tell her.
"Liar." She mutters and I take a breath.
"I'm not lying, you aren't going to lose me." I tell her.
"You got hurt." She says quietly and I nod a bit.
"Well yeah, but that's always going to happen." I tell her.
"Not getting stabbed… or shot at." She says and I frown a bit.
"Clem." I say quietly and she shakes her head a bit.
"I just don't want to lose you." She tells me and I place my chin on top of her head as I tried to think of anything and I mean anything to calm her down.
"What can I do to prove you won't lose me?" I asked her quietly. She doesn't say anything and I stay quiet for her. I feel her grip my shirt more and I rubbed her back gently and then I kissed the top of her head.
"I don't know." She says quietly and I think. I can't think of anything and I started to feel bad that I couldn't help her with this dilemma. It's hard to honestly make a promise for something like this, how can you tell someone that they won't lose you in this world. I feel her grip loosen a bit and I moved a bit to look down at her as she just looked to my shirt.
"It's hard to make a promise that you won't lose me, just the same as it would be if I want you to make this promise, the best I can tell you is that you won't lose me too soon." I tell her and she doesn't look at me. I felt bad that I couldn't give her a direct answer that could make all this go away for her. I kissed her head gently and I gently grabbed her hand with the ring and she still doesn't look at me.
"I know you're scared; I'm scared too, it's going to be scary for a long time… anyone would be." I tell her and she nods a bit.
"What did you and Christa talk about?" I asked her.
"We talked about Omid… and how we've been since we got separated." She tells me and I think back and remember that she told me how Omid had died. How she blamed herself from his death, how Christa had changed after Omid had died, How Christa lost her baby due to stress and other problems.
"Do you think I might end up like him?" I asked her quietly. She says nothing but she gripped my hand a bit and I look down at her as she still didn't look to me.
"Clem look at me please." I basically begged her and she still doesn't look to me but I could see the tears in her eyes and I felt bad.
"Clem." I say quietly and finally she looked up to me and I look down at her.
"It's going to be ok… don't worry about it ok? you'll stress yourself with this." I tell her and she looked back down.
"I can't help it." She says quietly and I nod.
"I know, but it's going to be fine, don't worry about it, we can just live everyday like it's the last, ok?" I tell her and she laughed a little.
"So, live a reckless life of fun and destruction?" She asked and I chuckled.
"More like we just tell each other we love each other, we don't go to bed angry, and we just try and keep each other happy." I tell her and she nods at this and she moved close to me and I closed my eyes as I tried to go to sleep. I didn't fully go to sleep and I listen to Clementine as she had finally fallen asleep. I rubbed her back gently as she slept and I open my eyes a bit as I think to what we talked about. She was scared, I felt bad that I couldn't help her completely with the internal turmoil she was going through. There was no way I could fully convince her that she wouldn't lose me. she was right, I did get hurt but I was still here. I slowly move to look down at her as she slept and I place my chin back on her head.
She had all these fears because she was scared based on what had happened to her. I feel her grip my hand in her sleep and I gently grip her hand back basically telling her I was still here, that I wasn't gone, that I wouldn't let her go. I look to the window a bit and I see the dark clouds in the sky covering the stars. I don't know how long it was but I fell asleep and before I knew it, I woke up to some movement. It must have not been a long sleep because when I wake up it was still dark out and Clementine was moving out the bed and I watch her a bit. Did she not know I was awake? She leaves the room and I slowly get up and I look to the door just as she comes back and she looked to me as I look to her.
"Sorry did I wake you?" She whispers as she gets back into the bed and cuddles up to me.
"Hm it's fine, are you ok?" I asked her and she nods.
"Yeah just… had to make sure the door was secured." She tells me and I look to her.
"Just… precaution." She tells me and I nod.
"Had a bad dream?" I asked and she nods.
"Want to talk about it?" I asked and she shakes her head. I didn't push her but I told her she could tell me when she was ready. She doesn't say anything but she grabbed my hand gently and I watch her as she messed with the ring on my finger.
"I love you." She tells me again and I smile a bit.
"Love you too." I tell her and she nods and she finally falls asleep again and I closed my eyes as I was finally able to go to sleep for the night.
