Transformers One: Siren Chapter 11
The calvary has arrived!
And by the train's trajectory, they're heading straight for the tower.
"Protect Sentinel," said Arachnid, transforming and rushing out to meet this threat with a majority of Sentinel's fleet.
Sentinel's bodyguards form a perimeter around him. Two on either side and others spread out to prevent anyone from breaking inside.
The battle is vicious, Sentinel's fleet and the remaining High Guard members that are free clashing in the air.
Arachnid and those under her command give it their all to stop the train's advance, but it's no use. They're already too close.
And it especially doesn't do anything to help Arachnid when Orion arrives with the miners he's mustered on jetpacks to team up with the High Guard, using the drilling equipment as weapons.
It's while he's fighting Arachnid that Orion gets an idea. They may not have the beacon with the recordings anymore, but that doesn't mean there isn't another source carrying the truth.
Arachnid's memory banks.
The train was bulldozing toward the tower head-on with nothing preventing it from continuing to move forward.
The train crashes into the tower, sending everyone in all directions.
Having seen it coming, D-16 dove on top of Siren in order to shield her from the debris and the worst of the impact when they were thrown back.
The nose of the train hit Sentinel, launching him into the air and into a wall.
As D-16 was assisting Siren to her feet a laser pointer was aimed at his chest by one of Sentinel's soldiers. Before D-16 could get his own weapon out with no binders to hinder him, someone else took matters into their own hands.
Making a timely arrival, Orion took out the soldier and another one that came at him from a gun he'd swiped.
"D. Siren," called Orion.
Immediately, Siren rushes to Orion, wraps her arms around his neck, and buries her head into his shoulder, her body shaking.
Briefly embracing Siren, glad to see she's all in one piece, assuming her quivering is from fear they wouldn't see each other again and not something else, Orion "I'm here, Siren. Everything's going to be okay now."
No, nothing's okay. Nothing ever going to be okay again.
Spotting the newly carved brand on D-16's chest, Orion said "What has he done to you?"
Shaking off Orion's hand, fuming, D-16 said "This is nothing compared to what I'm going to do to Sentinel."
"Soundwave, free the prisoners," ordered Orion.
Soundwave uses his sonic waves to break the restraints holding the imprisoned High Guard members back. They automatically join the fight, eager to dish out some well-deserved payback.
"I know how to stop him. Arachnid is the answer," explained Orion.
Activating his fusion cannon, stubbornly, D-16 said "I'm doing this my way."
"D," said Orion, trying to stop him.
But Orion's call went unheard by D-16 much to his dismay.
It is imperative that the five of them stick together.
The tower has turned into a warzone, the battle fiercely commencing inside and out of the building.
During the skirmish, B-127 was ecstatic to discover he had a battle mask that appeared when a soldier tried to punch him in the faceplates and energon wrist knives. It really got his energon pumping, thoroughly enjoying himself and his new capable abilities.
Siren found out that while she did have the dual cutlass blades there was one other weapon she had in her arsenal. One that she'd been completely unaware of until now.
This happened when a soldier had come charging at her and she didn't have enough time to get her blades up. Siren raised her arms to act as a shield and as this occurred one of her blades retracted to allow something different to emerge. From a point in Siren's wrist, a small barrel emerged. Seconds later following these sonic waves were emitted, not nearly as big as Soundwaves but strong enough to force Siren's adversary to halt his advance and fly backward.
It seems Siren now has weapons at her disposal for both offense and defense.
In the midst of the fight, D-16 notices a key target is absent.
"Where's Sentinel," said D-16.
Unfortunately, Sentinel sneaks up on them before they can see him.
Out of nowhere, a missile lands in the middle of the group launching them all in the air.
"You pathetic little twits," said Sentinel in scornful hostility. "Did you really think that you could knock down everything I've built?"
The five of them take shelter behind some rubble. Elita-1 with Orion and Siren and B-127 with D-16.
"It's over, Sentinel. You can't escape the truth," stated Orion.
Maliciously, Sentinel jeered "What truth? That I plucked the cogs from your newborn chests? Forced you to mine so that I could pay back the Quintessons and live like a king? None of that matters. Because the truth is what I make it."
Sentinel then unleashes a tirade of missiles at them from his turrets.
"Incoming," shouted Orion, eyes wide at the onslaught coming at them in a huge wave.
The five of them end up scattering. Orion, Elita-1, and B-127 in one direction and D-16 and Siren in another.
Even with the five of them working together, they can't bring Sentinel down with a direct assault and Orion knows it.
Sentinel's focus seems more trained on D-16 and Siren, so Orion decides not to waste this opening. The three of them need to find Arachnid and take her to the broadcast station so they can access her memories and show everyone what dirty schemes Sentinel has been up to. Arachnid finds them first, proceeding to attack Elita-1.
The fight leads them out of the tower and farther into the city center. Strange enough, luck is on their side as it seems that the direction this is taking them is toward the broadcast center. Orion and B-127 are following in hot pursuit close help subdue Arachnid.
Hopefully, D-16 and Siren can hold Sentinel off long enough for the other three to get the necessary job done.
D-16 is taking the brunt of Sentinel's attacks, clashing with the traitor. Siren keeps her distance, knowing she's not even close to being a match for Sentinel, she lends support where she can by diverting his attention with her sonic amplifier to give D-16 more openings.
But Sentinel has the best advantage over both of them. He's older, stronger, and has far more experience in combat. Because of this, Sentinel soon overwhelms D-16.
Sentinel has D-16 on his back, and a foot on his chest to keep him in place.
In a last-ditch effort to get Sentinel off of D-16, Siren tries to ram him in the side, but the larger bot doesn't even budge. So she instead tugs futility on Sentinel's wings to pry him off D-16.
Roughly shoving Siren onto the floor, mockingly, Sentinel said "Don't be so impatient. You'll get your turn."
"You won't touch her again," shouted D-16.
D-16 raises his fusion cannon only to have Sentinel step on it.
"And who's going to stop me? You," said Sentinel, aiming his own cannon at D-16's chest. "Rise up."
There's nothing else D-16 or Siren can do. Sentinel's beaten them.
Or has he?
All over Iacon the citywide intercom broadcasting system suddenly comes to life.
"Attention, Iacon City. Stand by for a live transmission from Sentinel Prime."
"What the…I didn't authorize this. Arachnid, what's going on? Arachnid," said Sentinel.
Arachnid doesn't respond. She's a little tied up at the moment.
A video feed of Arachnid's memories is shown to transformers in all of Iacon, above and below ground, showcasing Sentinel's betrayal admission and his handing over Cybertron to the Quintessons down to the letter.
"That's why after I killed him, I took Megatronus's cog for myself. What truth? That I plucked the cogs from your newborn chests? Forced you to mine so that I could pay back the Quintessons and live like a king? I'm working my miners as hard as I can, I swear I will get you the rest."
It's over for Sentinel and he knows it as he stares out in horror over the city and people he's ruled over false pretenses for so long. Even from high up in the tower he can hear the yells of hatred and dissent as clear as day.
There's no going back from this for Sentinel. Everyone on Iacon, from cog to cogless bots has borne witness to Sentinel's deceit. They know he's a fake, a fraud, a charlatan.
Those who worshipped Sentinel now openly disavow him.
Sentinel's corrupt reign of control and oppression has been overturned. The people will no longer be misled by his lies and self-centered ambitions.
But it's not over for D-16, not by a long shot.
There's still something he has to do.
Kill Sentinel.
Authors Note:
I know last chapter, I said there would only be two left instead of three, but I'm dedicated to updating this story daily for you guys until the end and I just couldn't go tonight without putting one up. So this time I really do mean it. There are only two left and they are two you seriously need to brace yourselves for. Just a fair warning on that for what I have in store for you guys. What's coming is not what any of you expected.
I hope you all like this one! I certainly did while writing it for your vast enjoyment! ;D
For those of you just starting out with my stuff there are other works on my profile that may catch your interest. I highly recommend you take a look as soon as the opportunity presents itself to you. Who knows, you may be pleasantly surprised by what you discover.
Stay safe everyone. Especially with all of these crazy natural disasters occurring a lot lately due to global warming and climate change everywhere for sure. I swear it's like they're getting worse and worse all the time and it's like officials are simply just ignoring it or pretending it doesn't exist entirely just to go on with their daily lives. Especially those in multi-million dollar companies that rely on certain elements of our planet that we rely on to naturally keep us safe instead of adapting and finding new safer ways to keep in business. There are so many options out there where they can adapt, but they just refuse to see it because all they care about is money. Climate change is altering so much faster than anyone can really keep track of.
So, in light of all this, it is important to live life to the fullest as much as anyone can.
I know I am. ;) See you guys next time.
