Demonic Crisis Ch 1: End of an Era

All of the Foundation's demon hunters appeared in the colosseum arena, having been teleported there by the power of the Domain. Altered Beast was the last to arrive, being forcibly taken there against his will. Once he appeared, Abel scowled at him and blasted him with a stream of icy cold water. The others could only look on in shock, speechless as he was slammed into the wall behind and stuck there in a shell of ice.

"I told you not to interfere unless the supernatural was involved! You don't listen!" scolded Abel. Vines grew from his fingers and tore Beast out of the ice, then hurled him all the way to the opposite wall, leaving him stuck in an indentation. "What if you lost control and infected someone?" Abel asked as he lifted Beast up with the vines, then launched him into another wall. "Think before you do something so reckless!"

Beast peeled off the wall and landed on the ground in a heap. It seemed that Beast's punishment was over. The others returned to their human forms with Melissa going up to check on Beast. "Are you okay? Speak to me!" said Melissa.

"I'll manage," replied Beast meekly. Melissa gave him a hand to get off the ground.

Once Abel calmed down, he addressed the others. "Sorry you had to see that," he began. "It's a pity that Blood Omen got away, but my agents will keep an eye out for her. Dismissed."

Back at the Pussycats' camp, the forest outside of Mustafar's limits continued to be covered in blue flames with smoke still billowing into the sky. Dozens of firefighters scrambled to hose it down with water and keep the blaze from spreading any further. Paramedics ran into the forest path and returned with a total of fifteen students on stretchers, victims who had inhaled a villain's toxic gas.

One Pussycats member had taken a severe blow to the head and had been left bleeding, while the ward of the second, a prepubescent boy, had been discovered unconscious with numerous broken bones. A third Pussycats member had been abducted during the altercation, as were two of the students from Class 1A. Ten students had suffered relatively minor wounds of some form, while thirteen were lucky enough to escape while completely avoiding any harm.

The League had also suffered losses in the form of three of their members getting captured. Despite this small victory, it was a loss overall for UA to have two students abducted. Word of this incident reached the faculty of UA back in Mustafar and a sombre air filled the room as they met to discuss this situation. "That training camp was meant to prepare young heroes for villain attacks. The irony is shameful," remarked Nezu with his head hung low.

"According to Tiger and Mandalay of the Pussycats, the USJ Werewolf showed up there too. He cut down two of the villains before being whisked away by a warping Quirk," reported All Might.

"First the League and then the Werewolf? I don't know how we could have prepared for that," said Midnight.

"The League has shaken society's faith in its heroes. Letting our students be endangered is bad enough, but letting Bakugo and Tokoyami get abducted is an even greater failing for us as teachers," said Snipe sombrely.

"If they targeted Bakugo, it's no doubt they learned of his violent tendencies from rumours and hearsay about him. As for Tokoyami, he's reputed to have a love of things dark," said Nezu.

"Only a few of us knew where and when that camp was. How could the villains have found out?" asked Present Mic, but no one answered his question. "If no one else will say it, I will! There's a traitor in our midst!" stated Present Mic. "I suppose a kid could've called the villains on a phone, but..."

"Stop it, Mic!" scolded Midnight.

"You know I'm right! We have to find out who the leak is!" retorted Present Mic.

"Yes, but we must be careful. Accusing someone of being a traitor is not something to be done lightly," warned Snipe. "If we descend into finger pointing, we'll only destroy each other. That's exactly what the League wants."

"Despite this talk of traitors, I trust everyone here and don't believe any of us are traitors," assured Nezu, nodding to the assembly. "Now that we've been put into this position, we should implement a plan that I've had in mind for a while now. I propose we move the students into dorms on campus. While they're..."

"A phone call is here! A phone call is here!" announced All Might's smartphone.

"Excuse me!" said All Might apologetically as he covered his phone's speaker.

"We're in a meeting!" scolded Present Mic.

"He's his own ring tone?" asked Midnight, flabbergasted at that fact.

All Might excused himself from the meeting room and answered the call in the empty hall outside. His phone told him that the call came from Tsukauchi. "Yes? What did you need?" asked All Might.

"Toshinori, it's me. Aizawa and Kan have just given us comprehensive statements. We may have a lead as to where the League of Villains is hiding," replied Tsukauchi.

"Really? Where?" asked All Might, waiting with bated breath to find out what Tsukauchi had learned.

"Kamino. Aizawa told me that one of the perps at the camp was a man with a patchwork face. Two weeks ago, one of my men spoke to a witness who saw such a man entering an abandoned building. According to the building's owner, there's a hidden bar there, the perfect place for a group of villains to meet," replied Tsukauchi. "We're going to be calling in several pro heroes for this raid, including you. We need you for this one." He paused to allow All Might to make a response, but never got one. "Toshinori? Are you still there?" Tsukauchi asked, probing for an answer.

All Might had been lost in thought momentarily before hearing Tsukauchi ask about him. "Yes. Sorry about that. Tsukauchi, you're such a friend. When I find those villains, I know just what I'll say to them," said All Might, his righteous indignation flaring within him to activate his muscular form. "I am here to make you pay for what you've done!"

"Thank you! Please don't let anyone else know about this. I'm only telling you this because you're my friend," said Tsukauchi.

"Of course. You have my word," said All Might.

Meanwhile, Dr. Garaki worked late at his secret lab somewhere in the Jakku General Hospital in the city of Jakku. The strange golden crystal he had acquired was an enigma in itself. It was made of an unknown material and no one knew where it came from or what purpose it served. His preliminary tests had shown that it could produce energy when a current was run through it. The ensuing output was far greater than what went in, nearly shorting out the capacitor used during the test. Garaki had to quickly cut the current to avoid overloading the capacitor and burning it out.

Another test showed the effects it had on Quirks. Dr. Garaki had hooked up the crystal into the collar of a small test Nomu he had grown out of a cloning vat. With it attached to a battery via wire, the current stimulated the crystal's energy production and a spike in the Quirk energy output of the Nomu test subject. This meant that the crystal could also enhance a person's Quirk if it were to be put on their person in some way, like jewellery. Dr. Garaki jotted these notes into his computer, then took a glance at the crystal in its holder.

He let out a great yawn. "It's getting late. I should turn in for the day," he thought to himself.

He left the computer on overnight to continue computations for another project and retired to rest for the night. The next night, he returned to his hidden lab and checked on his projects. His computer had stopped working on computations for some reason. When he reviewed the logs, he noticed that someone had accessed his files while he was asleep. He had no idea who it was, but his logs indicated that the hacker had combed through his research and copied files onto their computer. His security eventually cut off the hacker, but that this hacker even got access at all was a glaring breach.

Dr. Garaki quickly set to work, strengthening his security to prevent another intrusion like this one. He eventually used a Nomu's teleportation Quirk to travel to a similar lab and safe house somewhere in Kamino Ward. This abandoned warehouse contained numerous vats growing Nomu. Every vat had been hooked up to a computer and equipment which monitored the condition of the subject. This site was a Nomu manufacturing plant.

At the heart of the abandoned warehouse, All For One sat on a metal chair with a breathing mask and IV drip embedded into his veins. Despite his condition, he was like a demonic king seated on his dark throne. "How are you holding up?" asked Dr. Garaki.

"Quite well, thanks to you. My body is healing quite nicely. How goes the project to enhance my Quirks?" asked All For One.

"My preliminary tests have born fruit, but I'll have to postpone installing the crystal," replied Dr. Garaki.

"Why?" asked All For One.

"Someone broke into my computer and copied my files. It took some time to evaluate the breach and beef up my security, which will hold up work," replied Dr. Garaki.

"Do you know who was responsible?" asked All For One.

"Not exactly, but I suspect corporate espionage. Still, we can't rule out law enforcement and our connection to the League of Villains possibly leaking out," replied Dr. Garaki. "I'll continue work at this location instead of the hospital."

"Very well. That just means you can do more work on me," remarked All For One, casting a smile at the thought. "On a brighter note, Shigaraki has succeeded with his plan to capture Katsuki Bakugo and Ragdoll. He even nabbed Fumikage Tokoyami as a nice little bonus."

All For One smiled at the success of his student, as did the doctor. "Good!" remarked Dr. Garaki. "He's finally maturing and finding success."

"Yes. His last message to me was that he would go silent to wait out the heat. In the meantime, he'll work hard to bring the two kids into our fold," said All For One.

"Wonderful!" remarked Dr. Garaki.

Over the next few days, Dr. Garaki had finished moving his main operation to the Kamino warehouse while beefing security to prevent a new breach. With the breach resolved, he eventually had the crystal installed into All For One's breathing mask as a boost to his Quirks. "How is the mask now?" asked Dr. Garaki.

"I can still feel the current in my right cheek," replied All For One.

"Okay, hold on," said Dr. Garaki. He shut off the power, then opened the mask and wrapped a wire inside with more insulation. He also put a twist tie on the wire to hold it further away from All For One's face. He sealed the mask and restored the current. "How is it now?"

"Much better," replied All For One. "What was the problem?"

"The wire kept bending towards your face. It started to touch the metal of the mask, which is why you felt the current. I've put in more shielding and tied it into place for good measure, so it shouldn't give you any more problems," replied Dr. Garaki.

"I feel much stronger, like I was in my prime. I'll need this power to face All Might. He's on the prowl for me. I know we'll meet again soon," said All For One.

Unknown to the duo, an invisible Wild Hunt had observed their every move and had heard every word from the other side of the room. They looked closely at the jewel which had been slotted into All For One's mask. They immediately recognized it as a Shard of Divinity. These villains were using that piece of God as a power source, much like that student from UA was before. At least the girl only intended it to power her science project. These people were using it for Quirk enhancement to commit greater crimes. The Wild Hunt informed their master about what they had seen via telepathy, but continued to monitor the warehouse.

))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

As Dr. Garaki finalized his work on the crystal, several heroes and police officers had gathered near the abandoned bar Tsukauchi had mentioned to All Might earlier. SWAT officers with assault weapons, armour, and helmets filed down the street and quickly had the abandoned building surrounded. Several pro heroes lurked in their ranks, eagerly waiting for the action to start.

Inside the building, one of the SWAT officers went to the door of the hidden bar and knocked. "Hello, I have a pizza here," announced the officer.

Inside, the League of Villains had Katsuki Bakugo and Fumikage Tokoyami cornered at the entrance door. Everyone looked at the door, puzzled at how unexpected this event was. Suddenly, debris came flying from a side wall as All Might burst through! "SMASH!" he cried.

Two of the villains had been knocked to the ground in the wake of All Might's abrupt entry. The rest were left stunned. "KUROGIRI! BRING THEM HERE!" cried Shigaraki.

Suddenly, Kamui Woods swung into the hole on a branch and had the entire League tied up with newly grown branches. Dabi, the patchwork man and owner of a fire generating Quirk, prepared to use his power to incinerate his way out of the binds. A third hero, the small and elderly Gran Torino, zipped in and rammed Dabi in the head, rendering him dazed. "Don't try anything foolish! You'd best cooperate," warned Torino.

"You can't run any more, League of Villains, because we are here!" stated All Might.

A new hero, one dressed like a ninja, entered the room through the crack in the door. This new hero was Edgeshot, a man with long grey hair which had three bends like folded paper. He had the Quirk "Foldabody," which enabled him to reshape and fold his body as though it was paper. One trick he could do was to become as flat as paper and slip through a crack in a door like he had done to breach the room.

Edgeshot folded himself into a thread and pierced Kurogiri's body, knocking him unconscious through sudden blood deprivation. The League of Villains was stunned at how fast that had happened, as they did not even see Edgeshot move. "One tends to neglect defence when you're on the offence. We didn't come alone," said the ninja. He opened the door and revealed dozens of SWAT officers outside with their weapons trained into the bar. "You're surrounded by the police and powerful heroes. Give up."

Looking around, Himiko saw she was in trouble and had to get away quickly, or her cover might be blown. She promptly changed into mist and slipped through her bindings. She bolted into the drain of the nearby sink. "NO! STOP HER!" cried All Might, but it was too late. Himiko was already well into the drain and fleeing through it into the pipes and ultimately towards safety. "SHIT!" he cursed.

"Worry about her later. So Shigaraki, where's your boss?" asked Gran Torino. Suddenly, several splotches of a black, oily liquid appeared in the room and over the League members. As the League members were sucked in, Nomu started to emerge from other splotches. "Dammit Edgeshot! STOP KUROGIRI!" cried Gran Torino.

"It's not him! He's still out!" replied Edgeshot, looking over the still unconscious Kurogiri behind the bar.

The oily splotches continued to do their work. All Might quickly punched out one of the emerging Nomu, but more continued to invade. "Endeavour! Help!" cried Kamui Woods to the hero behind him. When he looked back, he saw more Nomu appearing outside, within the ranks of the SWAT officers and pro heroes surrounding the building. The guns of the police started popping as they fired at the Nomu. "No!" wailed Kamui Woods in despair as the situation deteriorated further.

One oily splotch appeared over each of Bakugo and Tokoyami and sucked them in. All Might quickly reached for them, but they were ultimately taken away by the oil. "NO!" cried All Might in anguish.

The SWAT officers kept firing on the Nomu while the fiery hero Endeavour hurled a blast of flame at another. "These guys came from the other hideout!" Tsukauchi thought to himself. He reached for his radio. "Jeanist, do you copy? What's going on over there?" he asked into the device.

Inside, Gran Torino zipped over and kicked a Nomu unconscious. Nearby, All Might punched out another Nomu. "These reinforcements… They came so quickly and without warning. It could only be him, All For One!" said All Might. "So he's finally made his move."

))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Meanwhile at the Foundation Domain, the Spade Mercs had received reports on Dr. Garaki's activities from the Wild Hunt. "Dr. Garaki has already installed the Shard of Divinity into All For One. He has also moved much of his operations into that Nomu warehouse. That makes two targets we have to deal with, the Nomu warehouse at Kamino, and Dr. Garaki's lab at Jakku General Hospital. There are civilians in both locations so we'll have to be careful," Abel reported to the other Spade Mercs and the Foundation members.

"We're taking this mission ourselves. The rest of you will be on standby in case Blood Omen shows up. If she does, hunt her down," said Yuzu.

"Okay, good luck guys!" said Melissa.

"Yeah, take care of that evil doctor," said Manami.

The Spade Mercs teleported into an underground maintenance vault beneath a manhole on the streets of Jakku City. A group of demons were tunnelling their way through the concrete and earth, creating a hidden passageway into the underground lab. These demons, the Myrmecoleon, had the front half of a lion, but the back end of an ant. After a few minutes of digging, they found a concrete wall which formed the passage into Dr. Garaki's lab.

Midori melted the concrete into slag, which rapidly cooled once she reabsorbed the heat back into her being. The Spade Mercs stepped into the lab, which triggered the alarm bell. Dr. Garaki prepared to bolt into a room with Nomu growing in vats, only to get caught in the neck by a vine which extended from Abel's index finger. "ARGGH!" gasped Dr. Garaki as he was being strangled by the vine.

"You have committed a grave sin by infusing the power of God into that villain. There is only one punishment for that. Death!" declared Abel. He promptly tore open a Reality Fracture upon Dr. Garaki. The villainous doctor had been torn to shreds, then disintegrated.

The Spade Mercs searched Dr. Garaki's lab, but much of the items previously there had been moved elsewhere. Garaki worked surprisingly swiftly for an old man. The moment he realized that his computer had been compromised, he began efforts to relocate his lab. Although some of the equipment remained, the majority had been moved, likely to the warehouse at Kamino Ward. The Spade Mercs confiscated whatever remained into dimensional storage. The lab now stood empty as nothing more than a cavernous concrete room.

The Spade Mercs retreated back through the tunnel to the maintenance vault, where they teleported back to the Foundation Domain with the Myrmecoleon. In flickers of blue light, they reappeared at the front of the ziggurat. "Jakku is clear, but we still have the Kamino warehouse. You guys take care of that for me. In the meantime, I'll deal with All For One," said Abel.

"Okay, good luck!" said Yuzu.

By the time the Spade Mercs appeared at the League's Nomu warehouse, they found a barely standing building with its facade blown out. Nearby, All Might and All For One continued to exchange blows with each other. Their battle had resulted in every building in a three-block radius being reduced to a pile of rubble. Both men were covered in cuts and bruises from their titanic brawl. However, All Might seemed to have gotten the worst of the exchanges as he appeared shrivelled, having exhausted his power during the battle.

Also outside were the League of Villains save Himiko Toga. The remaining members of the League stared down their two hostages, now free and able to defend themselves from their attack. "Leave the people outside to me. Secure all of Dr. Garaki's items," Abel told his companions.

"Right!" said Yuzu.

"You heard him. Let's do it!" said Midori. The three Spade Mercs moved deeper inside to secure critical equipment and documents before they too became collateral damage of the titanic battle.

In the ruins outside, Bakugo and Tokoyami suddenly vanished, teleported away in flickers of blue light. The League had been left dumbfounded and could only stare blankly at the empty space left in the wake of their sudden disappearance. Even looking around, they could not find where the two kids had gone. Further away, the Immortal Stranger Abel appeared near the warring titans in another flicker of blue light.

Both All Might and All For One turned to look at him. "You!" All Might blurted accusingly upon seeing him appear.

The Stranger turned his gaze to All Might. "Yes, me. You won't die today, All Might, because I am here," assured the Stranger, imitating All Might's own catch phrase.

All For One attempted to scan the Stranger with his newly acquired "Search" Quirk, stolen from Ragdoll of the Wild, Wild Pussycats. The Search Quirk gave him garbled static, which provided no useful information. Through some unknown method, the Stranger was jamming the Quirk's functioning. Not only was he doing that, the Stranger radiated sheer power from his very being, power that All For One could feel acutely. It was the unbridled wrath of a god, all focused on the great villain.

"Leave Shigaraki! Clear the battlefield now!" commanded All For One. He quickly sent all members of the League into splotches of oily black, sparing them from getting caught up in the coming battle.

"It is not them I want, but you," stated the Stranger. "The power of God is not meant for you to have. You have become a grave threat, one I must now eliminate."

The Stranger pointed at All For One. A Reality Fracture opened over All For One, shredding the Symbol of Evil in a haze of bloody crimson. The separated pieces of his body collapsed into the black rift and disintegrated. In but a moment, the Symbol of Evil was no more. Nothing remained of him, not even a speck of dust, to indicate that he had ever existed. With his demise came the destruction of the Shard of Divinity implanted in his neck brace.

"You thought yourself a demon lord, yet sought the power of God. The irony... In the end, it was All For Nothing," remarked the Stranger in mockery of the Symbol of Evil's name.

"One hit!" remarked All Might, jaw agape in awe at this display of sheer power. "That was one hit!"

Abel vanished in a flicker of blue light and appeared near his friends at the warehouse. "I'm done on my end. What about you?" asked Abel.

"We're done here too. We've picked up everything the doctor had," replied Midori.

"It's gonna take time to look over all this stuff," remarked Atsuro, before the Spade Mercs vanished in flickers of blue light.

))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

With the villains routed, the authorities combed the rubble for survivors. They quickly found the unconscious bodies of various heroes among the rubble, which included Gang Orca and Mt. Lady. Gran Torino, who had helped All Might against All For One, was still upright and mobile, but had suffered several scrapes during the exchange of blows. Best Jeanist was in a more dire condition having suffered a punctured lung. He had been loaded into an ambulance for transport to intensive care.

All Might had survived the battle and was the only other pro hero who could leave under his own power. Still, his wounds were great, so he had been driven to a hospital for medical attention. The next day, he sat on his hospital bed to meet his friends Tsukauchi and a bandaged Gran Torino. "Tsukauchi! Please tell me what happened to young Bakugo and Tokoyami?" asked All Might.

"We don't know who, but someone teleported them away from the scene and left them in a police station. They were given medical examinations, but didn't appear to be hurt in anyway," replied Tsukauchi.

"Phew!" said All Might, letting out a great sigh of relief. "That's one less thing to worry about."

"Yeah, but now they know. They know you're losing your power. The invincible hero can now be beaten," lamented Tsukauchi.

"Every crook and villain will only grow bolder, thinking they can stir up trouble without you to stop them," said Gran Torino. "If there's one silver lining, we've learned that Tomura Shigaraki is Nana Shimura's grandson."

"All we have to go on is All For One's word, and he's dead now. You two really didn't have any contact with the Shimura family?" asked Tsukauchi.

"No," replied Gran Torino ruefully, hanging his head low while shaking it.

"Why not?" asked Tsukauchi, puzzled to hear that from Torino himself, one of Nana Shimura's closest friends.

"It was after Nana's husband got killed. She put her child into foster care, to protect him from the hero world. She didn't want any of us near him, even if something terrible were to happen to her," said Gran Torino.

"In the end, her plan backfired. I'm so sorry," said Tsukauchi, dismayed to see how Shigaraki had been turned to villainy by All For One.

"My master gave up her heart so her family could know a life of peace. I have to track down Shigaraki and…" said All Might.

"...And what? You'll hug and kiss him? Don't you see the villain he has become?" asked Gran Torino rhetorically. "No matter his lineage, he's still a criminal."

"Now that All For One is dead, the truth went with him to the grave. One problem goes away and another takes its place. According to my sources, the man who killed him is known as the 'Immortal Stranger.' All Might, you saw him at I-Island too, didn't you?" asked Tsukauchi.

"Yeah. I accused him of causing the chaos at Northwest City, but his companion denied any responsibility. His other companion sent me into the ocean before I could do anything else," replied All Might.

"Today, he showed up at Kamino. What did he want with you?" asked Gran Torino.

"It wasn't me he wanted, but All For One. He wanted to kill him, apparently. After he did that, he just teleported away," replied All Might.

"He was involved with the rampaging monsters at I-Island, then came here to kill All For One? I don't get it," remarked Gran Torino, unable to wrap his head around the Stranger's apparently contradictory actions.

All Might cast his gaze downward. "I have no idea either," admitted All Might.

"He's a dangerous wild card. We'd best be wary of him," warned Tsukauchi.

))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Eventually, classes restarted for the UA students after summer ended and the autumn approached Japan. At lunch, the students spoke about a new initiative being discussed by the faculty. "They're going to make us stay in dorms?" asked Ibara, in disbelief as she read the notice.

"Yep, it says that right here," replied Itsuka, pointing the clause out to her.

"They're also making us seek permission to come and go, even outside of classes? This is ridiculous! It's like we're prisoners!" remarked Tetsu, scowling at what the UA faculty wanted to do. "Why are we being punished for what the villains are doing?"

Itsuka sighed. "The school is under a lot of pressure to clean up its act and stop letting us get endangered," replied Itsuka. "I can understand that, seeing how you took a bullet for me at camp. I don't like it either, but UA is the best hero school in Japan. Nowhere else compares."

"Hey guys! Did you hear? They want to make all of us stay in dorms!" said Izuku as he sat next to the 1B students to talk and eat lunch with them.

"Yeah, we know. Mr. Kan told us about that during homeroom. They still haven't ironed out all of the details yet. That will be discussed during the parent-faculty meeting later on," replied Itsuka.

"Yeah, and it's ridiculous! I don't mean staying at a dorm. I mean how we have to ask for permission to come and go, even outside of classes. Why are we being treated like prisoners?" asked Tetsu.

Izuku sighed. "I take martial arts classes after school. It's going to be a hassle when before, I could come and go whenever I want," said Izuku.

"We have school IDs. Not just anyone can walk through those gates. If they tried, the gates would lock 'em out," said Tetsu.

"For me, it's a moot point. I'll have to move soon," said Ibara.

"You're moving? Where to and why?" asked Itsuka.

"Nagasaki. It's my church. They're telling us that the angels have relayed God's will to all believers across the world. He wants us to give up our Quirks so that humanity can survive in the future," replied Ibara.

"Survive? Is there a new enemy coming? Why can't the pros fight him?" asked Tetsu, puzzled to hear this from Ibara.

"No pro can fight this kind of threat. It's the Quirk Singularity. Quirks are getting too powerful and complex with each generation. Once no one can manage their power, that will be the end," replied Ibara. "It's Quirks themselves that are the problem. You can't just throw a Quirk in jail and that's it."

"To give up your Quirk... You've wanted to be a hero like the rest of us. Can you really do that?" asked Itsuka.

"What about villains with strong Quirks? How can anyone face them if we give up our powers, but the villains keep theirs?" asked Izuku.

"The Lord provides. He is giving us a new power to replace our Quirks," replied Ibara.

This caused Izuku to stroke his chin. "A new power? What kind?" asked Izuku.

"It's called the 'Luminance.' It's a holy power which is used through martial arts. Anyone with a Quirk who's struck by its power is burned from within. By training it, I'll burn out my own Quirk, basically giving it up in exchange for this new holy power," replied Ibara.

"A power that messes up people who have Quirks? That's quite some power!" remarked Tetsu.

"I'm not really giving up on being a hero, I'm just going on a different path towards it. That's all," said Ibara.

"What kind of things can you do with the Luminance?" asked Izuku.

"Here," said Ibara.

She produced a set of pamphlets for Luminance schools in Nagasaki. They included the Golden Sun, Stellar Glow, and Halo dojos. All of them were set up to train students and even adults in the art. They also provided an education equivalent to a hero course like the one at UA High and other hero schools. The Golden Sun Dojo's pamphlet showed a picture of a master cupping his hands together to shoot a golden beam from them. The beam looked quite thick and powerful.

Izuku read the pamphlets and raised his eyebrows at what he saw. "That's amazing! I almost want to go to one of these schools myself!" remarked Izuku.

"You'd have to give up your Regeneration Quirk for that. You'd also have to move to Nagasaki since all the schools are there," replied Ibara.

Izuku felt deflated. "I'm fine here," said Izuku.

The others looked at the pamphlets for the Stellar Glow and Halo dojos. Stellar Glow's pamphlet showed a still shot of a master seated cross-legged as though in meditation with a golden aura around his body. His students had attempted to attack him, but his aura repelled them. Halo's pamphlet showed a master holding a cup encased in an aura of Luminance. He was holding the cup upside down, but despite doing so, the aura held the water inside the cup instead of letting it spill out. Feats like these were only a small sample of what was possible.

"That's amazing!" remarked Tetsu as he looked at the pictures.

"When do you move?" asked Itsuka.

"In about a week. We're already getting ready for it. I'm really gonna miss you guys!" said Ibara. She hugged every member of her circle of friends from Itsuka to Izuku. "We've got smart phones so let's keep in touch. I'm sure you'll want to see my progress."

"Don't worry. You may be at Nagasaki, but we'll still be friends," said Tetsu.

After school, Izuku and Kashiko reported what they had heard at school to Abel at the colosseum. The Immortal Stranger stroked his chin as he pondered the implications for the demon hunters. "I see. It's been tough to get good information from western Japan due to the angels stepping up security there. As for this dorm system, it will make it difficult for you two to come train with us. Is there no way to get it overturned?" asked Abel.

"They're still in discussion, so there's time to change their minds," said Izuku.

"If they go through with this, I'll tell you now, you'll have to change schools," said Abel.

Kashiko's eyes widened. "Change schools? Isn't that a little drastic?" asked Kashiko.

"I know, but if the faculty is watching the students more closely, you risk your cover getting blown. Besides, if I were to think like a parent, I'd still see it as risky to entrust my kid to UA, even if they implemented such a system," replied Abel.

"I see what you mean. Still, the faculty is talking with the parents about it. There's still a chance it can be overturned if enough parents object to it," said Izuku.

Eventually, the day of the parent-faculty meeting arrived. As expected, the main topic of discussion was the dorm system proposed by Nezu, the principal of the school. UA would construct enough dorms on campus with Cementoss' Quirk to house the entire student body. Each dorm building would contain one class of UA students with full amenities for them such as beds and washrooms. The dorms themselves would line the front wall of the grounds, in full view of UA's main lecture building. Students would be under constant watch by the faculty.

"It sounds like you're making our students into prisoners in your school. Why should they take the fall for what the villains did?" asked one random parent.

"Yeah! Why are they being punished?" asked another visibly upset parent.

"We're not trying to make our students feel like they're responsible for the League's attacks. We only wish to better protect them. We've decided that this is the best way," said Nezu.

"Isn't it unwise to put all our kids in one place?" asked Inko. "If all our children are together, as they would be living in dorms, won't that make them MORE vulnerable to attack, not less? We know the villains can breach your security, what with the USJ, the camp, and the incident with the bulls. If they did that then, they can certainly do it again."

"Yeah! Good point!" remarked a father.

"Yeah! The dorms shouldn't be mandatory! Give us the choice!" demanded another mother.

"Is there no way to put the dorms deeper into the campus? Their current proposed site is quite close to the wall. What if a super powerful villain decided to bust his way through the wall? He'd be at the dorms right from the start and our children would be in danger," said another father.

"Why not have online courses for subjects which don't require hands-on work?" asked Inko. "That way, we can minimize our students presence in UA until this whole thing blows over."

The parent-faculty meeting continued on with constant bickering and no progress being made. Nevertheless, the efforts of parents like Inko had stalled the establishment of the dorm system. It forced UA to schedule another meeting later to make compromises with parents like Inko who opposed the dorm system. When Inko reported what happened at the meeting, Abel became lost in thought. "So we're at an impasse," he remarked.

"Yeah. The anti-faction isn't budging. The faculty has decided to rethink their policy to address the criticism," reported Inko.

"Hmm..." mumbled Abel as he pondered solutions.

"Isn't the chief problem the League of Villains still being at large? I know you got their boss, but his goons are still out there. They never got arrested for the USJ or the summer camp attacks. Isn't there something you can do?" Inko pleaded.

Abel shook his head. "The Foundation should not be interfering in matters that don't involve the supernatural," Abel replied, citing the Foundation's policy.

"I get that you want to stay in your lane, but there has to be something you can do that won't get you into a fight with those villains!" pleaded Inko.

Abel stroked his chin. "Hmm... You know, there may be something we can do," said Abel.
