As I have stated I am redoing this story some due to errors and I decided to change a few things. I believe they new version is better, and I hope those reading the old version like this one better. I am still writing and have 12 chapters complete and working on chapter 13. This story will also be longer than the old version. So here is the first chapter. I hope you all like it better.

Over the years Luke had made several trips to Tatooine, not that many knew, Tionne and her husband Kam knew, also Chewie. He had been helping Luke since the days of the rebellon. They were the only ones that knew Luke had built a secret base in area of Ben's old hut.

Luke had started when Chewie and him had been waiting to rescue Han from Jabba the Hutt. They first secured the valley that Ben's hut was located. Chewie had installed a security field halfway down the valley. It was a narrow point in the valley just around a bend. This was done to mostly keep Jawas and Sandpeople away. It would also hopefully detore scavangers from nosing around.

Once that was done they dug out a hanger bay large enough to house several frieghters the size of the Falcon. Once it was dug out they built hanger doors with the help of several construction droids they scavanged and rebuilt.

While they were working on the hanger, they also rebuilt Ben's old hut. It had been run down when they first arrived. It now was up against the side of the valley wall. They did this so they could run a tunnel from the hanger to the hut. It now had 6 bedrooms with two refreshers, one which was in Luke's room. It also had a kithen/ dinnng area and a sitting room.

To power it all they had snuck back to an old rebel base that had been abandoned and took the power generator used to power the base. It took several trip to get it all back but they finally had it done.

By the time they were ready to rescue Han they had everything wired for power and running. To keep everything a secret they went to the Lars old moister farm to stage the rescue from. That's why Han and Leia had no idea of the place.

Over the years Luke had added to the place. With Chewies help they dug out a secret base behind the hanger bay. The entrance was hidden in the strorage room in the back of the hanger.

There were three areas to the base. A living area that had several rooms that could be used for Jedi and thier family and several rooms to handle single Jedi. It also had a large dinning hall.

Another area was for training. It had several class rooms, a library and training rooms. It was also where the medical area was located.

The last area was the command area. It would be limited to only those who had buisness there. It had a command center that Luke had manned by droids. There were also offices and meeting rooms. Luke also had a large data storage area located here. It was so they would hopefully not lose everything like they did when the old Republic fell. Luke had been making trip back to add more data to the data banks. He had several droids that were programed to maintain the data center and organize the data.

Luke woke when R2 let him know it was time to come out of hyperspace. Luke brought his X-wing out of hyperspace and headed for Tatooine. Unlike his other trips, this was not to upload data. That had been the reason he had come over the last 8 years. He had finish building the base 6 years after he and Chewie started.

"R2, once we get home, lets check messages and then while you check and make sure everything is in order. I will make a run to the Anchorhead General Store to pick up supplies. If I am going to be here for a while, I will need more then just some rations. I should only be gone a few hours. I might stop in some of the cantinas to see what is going on."

R2 let out a series of beeps. "You worry too much. I grew out a beard for several months so no one would reconize me. I will be fine."

It took them about half an hour to reach Luke's home here on Tatooine. He took his X-wing in the hanger and landed it in it's spot. Luke was suprised to see the Falcon.

Luke jumped out of his fighter and stretched. R2 gave off a series of beeps and whistles.

"Just a second and I will get you out." Luke told R2 as he saw Chewie come down the Falcon's ramp.

"Chewie, I was not expecting you. What brings you out here?"

"I heard you were taking a sabatical and not telling anyone where you were going. I figured you would come here first."

Luke lifted R2 out of his spot in the fighter as he replied. "Yea, it seemed like a good time to take some time off. Things have been crazy lately and I needed a break."

"I understand, your sister on the other hand does not. When she heard that Cassista had returned to Yavin. She thought you two might have gotten back together. Then you sent her the message you were taking some time off and going on a sabatical. She contacted Yavin and ask Tionne if you and Callista had run off to get married."

"What, why would she think that. Never mind. I was planning this trip before Callista arrived. The trip got delayed for a bit while she was there but my leaving had nothing to do with it." stated a suprised Luke.

"So you being here has nothing to do with Callista. I only ask as a friend and worry about you myself."

"No, while Callista might have wanted to give us another try. I was not intrested. I figured out right away why she might be there. Even if she never said till the end of the month she was there. I let her know while I will always consider her a friend I did not want to try to restart what we once had."

"When she left, there were no hard feelings between the two of us. I think the only reason she came was for closier. She was relieved when I turned her down."

"Plus my friend you are in love with another. Even if you two are to stuborn to admit anything." said a smug Chewie.

Luke just gave his friend a look. "I don't know what you are talking about Chewie."

Chewie let out a deep laugh before replying. "You and Mara are both the two of most stubborn people I have ever known in my life. You might not admit it but the two of you have had feelings for the other for 8 years. If you will take a minute and be honest with yourself and me you would agree."

Truth while Luke has never said it out loud, he knew Chewie was right. "Even if I did, she seems to be happy with Lando right now."

Chewie let out another laugh, but he was not going to be the one to tell Luke what was really going on between Lando and Mara. Luke needs to ask Mara himself.

Luke asked Chewie how long he was going to be around. After Chewie told him he planned on being here just a couple days. He was heading off to see Malla and his son. He had just stopped off her to check on Luke.

"If you are going to be here for a bit do you want to help R2 check everything out or would you rather come with me to Achorhead. I got to get some supplies and thought about checking out one of the cantinas to see if I can hear any gossip of what is going on around here." Chewie indicated he would go with Luke.

"I just got to put my stuff up first and get cleaned up. I need to check messages also. I'm sure my sister has sent a few and I am waiting to hear from Karrde. He is getting me a ship that is not known by the Republic. One of the things I plan on doing is visiting old Jedi concaves to see if there was anything left. Tionne managed to find some information on different places during her research over the years. I just have not had time to go take a look."

"It has been a while sense we have just sat around and had a drink. Though Han might be mad we didn't include him."

"I really need to let Han know about this place. I just don't want to have him in a spot to have to keep it from Leia and I am not ready for her to know about it yet."

"Go get cleaned up cub and I will check your messages to see who all has been trying to get in touch with you."

"Thanks Chewie. If there is one from Karrde, ask him if he can meet me in Mos Eisley at the cantina I met you and Han at."

"I will."

Mara jade was not a happy person, she had been on this mission too long now. It wouldn't be to bad if she didn't have to deal with Lando and his flirting. She was on Coruscant at the monent getting supplies and waiting on Karrde. He had an idea on where to look next.

She was brought out her thoughts when her comm started beeping. Hoping it was Karrde she answered. It was not.

"Leia, what can I do for you?"

"Hello Mara, I was calling to see if you had heard from Luke lately?"

Mara got a little worried. "What trouble has Skywalker got himself into now?"

"None that I know of, but he sent me a message that he was taking some time off. I thought him and Callista were off on a vacation or something."

"What, when did the body snatcher show back up?" asked an agitated Mara.

"I thought you would have known, she showed back up and was on Yavin for a month. She left again. Luke left a coupe weeks later. I called Tionne after I got his message and all she would only say Callista left a couple weeks ago. She would not tell me where Luke was going just that he was not joining up with Callista."

"No, I had know idea. I haven't spoke to your brother in a while. I have been doing a mission for Karrde for a while now, so I haven't done any supply runs to Yavin."

"Well she showed up about six weeks ago or so. Not real sure. I had commed Yavin to talk with Luke and the tech monitoring the comms said that Luke was out with Callista. When I finally talked with Luke he would not say much."

"He has not commed me in a while. Come to think about it I haven't heard from Skywalker in months."

"If you do hear anything ask him to comm me or see if you can find out where he is and let me know." Asked Leia.

"I will pass on your message but I dought I will hear from him." Mara replied. She didn't want to tell Leia but Mara thought Luke might be avoiding her.

While Luke had not contacted Mara for several months, She had commed Yavin about supplies and told that Luke was no avaliable. She spoke with Tionne. Mara had asked to have Luke comm her but he never did.

Leia got called to another matter and the two ended to call. A few minutes later Karrde called.

"Karrde, it's about time you contacted me. Are you almost here?" Asked and aggravated Mara.

"Sorry Mara. I am going to be running a little late. I have to make a stop first; the I will be heading that way. It will probably be another week."

"What. Karrde, if I have to put up with Lando much longer I may kill him." Mara was mad now.

Trying to calm his second. "Sorry, this can't wait. A client has been waiting a couple months for his shipment. It just got ready and I need to take it to him."

"Can't someone else do it?"

"Unfortunatly not for this client. It is a deal he set up with me and asked that I keep it quiet. I can't even tell you about it."

"OK, I might not like it but I understand. Can you tell me who?" asked Mara.

"No, I can't even tell you that at the moment. When I meet him I will see about letting you in on things but not sure he will want you knowing. I do have a few buisness matters I need you to take care of for me while you are waiting. It should help keep you busy enough to avoid Lando while you wait for me."

"Send me the info and I will take care of things.

"Thanks Mara and sorry again."

"You owe me Karrde. Also have you talked with Skywalker?"

Mara saw a slight hesitation in his reply "Not lately. Last I talked with him was a couple months ago. We mostly talked about supplies. Why do you asked?"

"His sister commed me to ask if I have heard from him."

"Well you could always try Yavin. Tionne probably knows where he is. Listen I got to go. I'll send you the data and see you in about a week."

Mara ended the call. She didn't think Karrde was be honest with her about Luke but couldn't do anything about it for the moment.

Mara got up and started taking care of a few things she needed to do while she waited on the message on what Karrde needed done.

Luke and Chewie got all the supplies Luke would need for his home on Tatooine then headed to the cantina. When they both walked in everyone stopped and stared a minute before turning back to what they were doing.

Luke noticed a couple imperials and headed to the other side of the cantina to sit down.

"I don't think they have ever seen a Wookie before."

Chewie just shrugged. "You might want to do the ordering then."

Luke went to the bar and ordered their drinks and sat down at their corner table. Both Chewie and Luke kept thier backs to the wall.

"Karrde did leave you a message. Said he had the ship. I told him to meet you in Mos Eisley in a few days. Your sister left you a few but I didn't read them. The only other message was from Tionne."

"Thanks, a few days works for me. I got a few things to do around the place then I will head that way. If you head back this way, let me know. Maybe I should let Han know how to get in touch with me. I just don't want to put him in a spot where he might have to lie to Leia."

Han will understand. He knows you well enough to know you need a place that Leia or the New Republic can't find you."

"So how is Malla doing?"

The two spent a few hours talking and listening. Luke spotted a few people he knew from the old days. He also heard there was a new gang in the area that was causing trouble. If things got to bad he would need to do something about it. He figured that might be why the imperials were there also around.

Achorhead never seem to have Imperials around before. Tatooine was still under Imperial and Achorhead was known to be near where Luke grew up so they may be looking to see if he showed up.

So that is the first chapter. As you can see, I changed things from the beginning of the story, I realized in the first story I had some contradictions on Luke visiting Tatooine, so I am trying to fix those as well.
