Chapter Fifty
Stare down
Tyroth hovered in the air, as he glared furiously at Diablo with his red eyes that blazed like hellfire and his mana shone around him, he was so tempted to go over and burn the Raven to cinders and rip him apart for what he had done, but he held back.
Diablo at the same time glared back, and he could see the dragon was ready to kill him where he stood, but he also knew, at least he hoped that was still the case that the dragon could not kill him because Jake and Monalisa had ordered him not too.
Seth was also still posed in a fighting stance as he looked at the dragon and the vampiress in her monster form still holding Lilith hostage.
The falcon had stopped struggling as she had heard Devina and Tyroth speak about Pandora and it had started to piece together for her that the lizard hybrid they had found, who they had named Aurora was actually the lost girl the dragon and the Vampiress were searching for.
"Diablo!" she cried "Is it true that the dragon and this….this….monster say?"
Devina frowned.
"Vampire/Were-wolf hybrid actually!" she corrected still not letting go of the falcon.
Lilith ignored her and continued to question Diablo.
"Well? Is she?" she demanded.
Seth looked at Diablo.
"Is she her?" he asked "What have you been keeping from us?"
Diablo sneered.
"There's quite a lot he hasn't told you!" Tyroth snarled as smoke appeared from his nostrils "About how he betrayed Mutopia! Betrayed his own brother and sister! Put us all at risk with his antics!"
Diablo glared.
"I had my reasons Dragon!" he spat "You choose your path! I choose mine!"
"As you kept saying!" Tyroth shouted "And you still haven't answered the question regarding Pandora! Where is she? Why did you take her away?"
"I didn't take her away!" Diablo spat.
Lilith blinked as she looked at Diablo and Seth also looked appalled.
"So it's true?" the Oryx asked "Aurora is Pandora? The one they're searching for?"
"I don't know!" Diablo shouted "I believed she looked familiar to my sister, yet I didn't think she was!"
"You knew!" Tyroth snapped "Don't lie to me Raven! I know you know who she was and took her away!"
Diablo clenched his taloned hands.
"If she really is yours? Why did you just leave her?" the raven challenged.
Tyroth's eyes narrowed and his blood boiled.
"Why you…." he stepped towards Diablo but the Raven jumped back.
"Why was she washed up on that rock? What the fuck happened to have her end up there huh?" he asked.
"You tell us Raven!" Devina spat.
Diablo glowered.
"I don't know myself how she ended up there!" Diablo snapped "All I know is Lilith found her and brought her to us!"
Lilith nodded.
"That is true yes!" she said "I brought her to Diablo and we nursed her, and she woke up with no memory!"
Tyroth's eyes widened as he listened and he looked at Diablo.
"You mean! She's got amnesia?" he asked.
Diablo nodded, as did Seth, yet the Oryx still glared at the Raven.
"Yes!" Diablo said "She woke with no clue of who she was, and I along with my Disciples decided to let her stay with us! Like she'd be safe wondering about on her own with no clue who she is?"
"Yet you didn't even think to return her to us?" Devina challenged looking at Diablo as well as hissing in Lilith's ear.
"Look!" Lilith defended "If I had known she was one of you! I would have returned her to you!"
Diablo nodded.
"So would I." he said crossing his arms.
"Would you?" Tyroth barked making everyone jump slightly "Would you have brought her back? Or would you have kept her? Maybe even brainwashed her? Made her think because of what she did before she was found by you that we didn't want her back? That she had betrayed Mutopia? Just like you did?"
Diablo glowered but Tyroth kept talking, his mana glowing brighter and his eyes burning.
"Would you have lied to her? Kept certain truths from her? Like you've done to the Disciples? Have you even told the full truth of what really happened when you recruited Regan? That it was your fault she is what she is?"
Diablo glared and Seth and Lilith looked at Tyroth with question, even though they knew how Regan had come to be, they weren't sure if what Diablo had told them was true.
Seth looked at Diablo.
"You said Rex rescued her from a burning car, after a truck collided with it!" he said.
Diablo nodded.
"Yes" he said "After I was knocked out of the sky!" he snapped at Tyroth.
"That was because you had a friend of mine hostage!" Tyroth shouted "You were flying off with Hugh and he stabbed your your leg with his taser so you'd let go! Then you fell on the bonnet of that truck thus he crashed and ended up hitting that car that cost Regan her humanity and her mother's life!"
"And that fucking hurt!" Diablo shouted back at the dragon "I would have dropped him somewhere safe if he hadn't done that! Then maybe things would have been different!"
"Don't you dare!" Tyroth snapped as he stepped closer to Diablo "Don't even go there!"
Seth and Lilith (Still held by Devina) continued to listen in shock and disbelief as the Raven and Dragon argued and they wondered what would happen next as well as fight with their emotions on what they had heard and what to do or say given what they had found out, that Aurora was very well Pandora, the one that the Dragon had been searching for.
Meanwhile with Aurora, Regan and the Geckolings, Aurora had run over to Regan to inspect her burns when Loki had ignited his body making her let go of him when she had attacked him.
At the same time, Loki nursed his neck as it healed and Freya looked on tearfully as he own wound Aurora had sustained on her.
"What has Diablo done to you?" Freya wept as she looked at Aurora who stood protectively over Regan.
Loki snarled.
"What spell did that Raven put on you?" he asked "What witchcraft?"
Regan snarled as she looked up from the ground, her neck and front body burnt as well as half her face.
"You little shit!" she spat "What magic lies in you?" she reached into a pouch on her belt and pulled out a small bottle with an eyedropper in it and she used it to squirt some liquid onto her tongue and as she did that, her burns began to heal.
Freya and Loki watched in shock as she did that.
"No way!" Loki exclaimed.
"The water!" Freya followed up "The same the Raven stole all those years ago and it lasted this long?"
"Seems it!" Loki agreed.
Aurora meanwhile helped the Vampire bat up, and her wounds healed quickly yet her clothes were ruined.
"You okay?" the hybrid asked to which Regan nodded.
Aurora clawed her hands to fight yet Regan shook her head.
"These creatures are somewhat more powerful that we can handle, we best run!" she said.
Aurora looked back at her appalled but she didn't get a chance to argue before Regan opened her wings and scooped the hybrid in her arms before taking off into the sky!
Freya and Loki were shocked but they both moved quickly.
"You're not getting away that quick!"Loki shouted as he opened his wings and Freya did the same.
"Come on sis!" he pulled her up and they both took off into the sky.
Regan held Aurora close as they flew ahead above the trees.
"What the hell?" Aurora asked as she held onto Regan around her shoulders.
"Sorry!" Regan said "But after what we saw we best find the others!"
"Why the hell were they saying I knew them?" Aurora asked looking at Regan.
"Damned if I know!" Regan said "Have you seen them before?"
Aurora shook her head, yet there was a slight pang in her stomach as she thought about what Freya said to her.
"How could I know them?" she asked herself "Why are they so desperate to tell me I'm someone I'm not?"
At the same time Regan took out her walkie talkie and turned it on.
"Guys! Come in!" she shouted.
"Regan?" Chastity's voice was heard "Are you and Aurora alright?"
"We're okay, yet we're being chased!"
"What?" Chastity cried "In the air?"
"A couple of flying lizards!" Regan shouted.
"Keep flying Regan! Ravage will come and assist you!"
"Thanks!" Regan replied and kept flying trying to avoid Freya and Loki who chased them.
"We gotta shoot her out the sky!" Freya shouted to Loki.
"But if we do that, we risk Pandora getting hurt!" Loki called back to his sister "We need to get close enough to grab Pandora then take down Regan!"
Freya nodded.
"Okay." she said "Lets try and get closer!"
The geckolings moved their wings harder in the air as they tried to get close to Regan who dived and swooped trying to make it hard for them to catch her.
Meanwhile Chastity and the other Disciples were still debating about what the whole situation was about Aurora actually being Pandora.
"Guys? You don't think that Aurora might be someone else? Someone who had been lost from another group?"
"And that whoever has Lilith knows her?" Lamia asked.
"And she also knows Diablo!" Ravage said.
"I recognize her voice too!" Chastity said "She's that weird Monster creature!"
"And a friend of the Dragon!" Samson said.
"And you think that the lizard girl we've been looking after, who doesn't remember who she is, is one of them?" Rex exclaimed.
"It's possible!" Chastity said "Yet why if she really is one of them, did Diablo know?"
The other Disciples looked thoughtful yet before they could say anything, Chastity's walkie talkie went off.
"Come in! Guys! Come in!"
"Regan?" the dove asked "Are you and Aurora alright?"
"We're okay!" Regan's voice was heard "Yet we're being chased!"
The Disciples's eyes widened in shock and Chastity gaped.
"What? In the Air?" she asked.
"A couple of flying lizards!" Regan reported.
Chastity frowned and opened her wings yet a buzzing sound was heard behind her and she turned to see Ravage was flapping his wings ready to take off.
The dove nodded at him then turned to her Walkie Talkie.
"Keep flying Regan!" she ordered "Ravage will come and assist you!"
"Thanks!" Regan's voice was heard as she cut off the line then Chastity turned to the others.
"There's more of them?" Lamia asked.
Chastity nodded.
"We need to help!" she said "Whatever's going on with Aurora or Pandora that those people called her or whether Diablo knew something or not, that'll have to wait! right now we need to help Regan, Diablo, Lilith and Seth!"
"How?" Samson asked.
Chastity narrowed her eyes as she tried to think.
"Ravage, go and find Regan and help her and Aurora!" she said to which Ravage nodded and took off into the sky, his wings making a loud buzzing as he went.
"Rex!" she looked at the Doberman "You, Samson and Lamia go and find Diablo, Seth and Lilith!"
"Yes ma'am!" Rex said saluting.
"What about you Chastity?" Samson asked.
"I'll follow Ravage and help Regan and Aurora!" the dove replied "As I'm the only flyer here."
Samson nodded.
"Okay!" he said then looked at the others "You heard Angel, let's go!"
Rex nodded and lifted his nose to sniff the air to find the scents of their fellow Disciples, he soon got whiff of their scent and gestured with his head to follow them.
Chastity watched them go then spread her own wings and flew up after where Ravage had taken off.
"Something's not right…" she thought to herself "What has been going on? And is Aurora actually one of those of the Dragon's people? A Mutopian?"
With these thoughts swimming through her head, the dove flew higher looking around for Ravage, her priority was helping her fellow Disciples, then she would question Diablo later.
The confrontations are getting heated and now the other Disciples are joining in to help!
