"Behold D'Hoffryn! Lord of Arashmaharr, he that turns the air to blood and rains death upon— you're not impressed." The demon that appeared in front off the five teenagers that dared to summon it stated.

"Should I be?" Xander asked. "What makes you different from other demons, including the ones I've killed or seen the Slayer kill?"

"You know the Slayer?"

"I've met two. So, you haven't explained why I should be impressed by you."

"I'm the Lord of Arashmarrr."

"If I knew what that was I might be moved to find it impressive."

"It's a demon dimension, where vengeance demons live, when they're not granting wishes, of course."

"Still doesn't tell me anything. But let me introduce myself. Alexander Harris, King of Nerds, Geeks and Cretins. Isn't a King higher than a Lord? In countries where they actually have Kings, I mean. We're American, we have a President."

"You're insolent."

"I'm also pissed off. According to the book, you're in charge of the vengeance demons, correct?"

"Yes." D'Hoffryn tilted his head slightly, studying the young man in front of him. The tightly contained emotions in him were still readable by D'Hoffryn and yes, the boy was most definitely enraged. But under control, as well. Interesting, especially in one so young. He also sensed power, very interesting.

"I was in the middle of getting vengeance without any help when one of your demons stole my prey from me. This annoys me. Apparently he or she was attracted to the desire for vengeance I was giving off, but I didn't invite them to the party. I didn't even know you guys existed, if I did I would never have said I wish out loud."

"A wish granted without asking for it? Well, there's no rule against it and sometimes my demons do trick people into making wishes."

"I didn't know they were there, they never showed themselves. And like I said, I was doing just fine getting all vengenancy on my own. And as I also stated, your demon stole my prey by granting that unasked for wish. They sent them somewhere and I want to know where so I can finish it." The boy snarled, lips twisting in anger.

"Hundreds of vengeance demons work for me and I have no idea which one granted you specifically a wish. Maybe if you explain the circumstances, it might narrow it down."

"Vampire under a curse, curse breaks, vampire tortures and kills my parents and raped and tortured my sister. I was turning his face into bloody hamburger when the Slayer in love with the vampire in question and responsible for the curse breaking stopped me. I don't remember my exact words, but it was something like 'I wish you could see the truth of him'. Jogging your memory?"

"You're talking about Angelus, I've heard stories about the Kalderash's vengeance. And oh my, that vengeance caused so much pain and suffering, truly inspired. And then it broke? Even more pain and suffering. And ooh, a bonus, the Slayer is caught up in it. I may need to grant a bonus to the demon, once I find out who granted it."

"I may need to torture the demon. For, you know, stealing from me." Xander said flatly. "Either deliver to me the demon in question or tell me where Angelus and the Slayer got sent."

"If I choose not to? I'm a demon lord, boy. That's power beyond any demon you've ever dealt with."

"Maybe, I didn't personally fight the Master, after all. Just revived the Slayer he killed and she destroyed him. But I did come up with a way to destroy the restored Judge, so it's possible that same method could work on you. If I can't kill you just using my bare hands and tapping into the power of an animal spirit." Xander let his eyes flash.

"The Judge? No weapon forged? That Judge?"

"Giant demonic smurf which is now in thousands of pieces."

D'Hoffryn hesitated, yeah that might just be enough to kill him. The weapon, not the spirit power. He shrugged, if Angelus and the Slayer were where he suspected they were, more misery could be expected. "There's a demon dimension where the true face of a vampire is forced out for all to see, my demon may have sent them there."

"What's this dimension called?"

"Pylea, humans are slaves there, if they get their hands on the Slayer, they'll try to enslave her too. She'll fight back, it's in the nature of Slayers, after all. You're likely too late. And vampires are no more tolerated by the demons of Pylea than they are by any other demons. They'll destroy him on sight."

Xander growled. "If I can confirm he's been destroyed, it's not as satisfying as finishing it myself, but at least it will be finished. How do we get to Pylea?"

"With a portal. Ask nicely and I'll send you there myself." D'Hoffryn smirked.

"No thanks, I'll figure it out myself. I prefer it that way."

"You don't want to owe a demon anything."

Xander smirked back. "It's not like you can be trusted."

"You'd make a great vengeance demon."

"Go to Hell."

"Well, my Hell anyway. Very interesting meeting you, Alexander Harris." D'Hoffryn left in a flash of lightening, having been more entertained by that conversation than he had by anything else in a long time.

That contained rage was going to boil out sooner or later and cause all kinds of fun, D'Hoffryn was sure of it.
