A/N Fanfiction. net has been having an issue for a few days now, chapters on stories disappear and reappear, whole stories disappear and reappear and reviews are having the same issue. I'm aware of it, I've reported it and there's nothing I can do about it. Leaving comments and sending me PM's on the matter doesn't help either, I'm afraid. All I can do is email support and I have never once gotten a response from them on any issue, not even on my old account being hacked. All I can do is ask is that you just be patient, eventually what's missing does come back and hopefully support is doing something about it, even if they aren't bothering to return messages.

Thank you for your patience.

"I think the smoke's clearing." Buffy had moved the shelves away from the door and peaked out. "If we're going to do this, we need to do it now. It won't be too much longer before they start trying to get back into the castle."

"Buffy, I'm taking these books with us." Fred had been studying some of the books they'd pulled off the shelves while they'd waited for things to quiet down and now looked up from the ones she'd been looking at. "These three go together, they're written in a way that's called triptych, a line on one page is followed by a line in the next book and than the next book."

"What makes those books so interesting you want to keep them? They're just demon books, aren't they?"

"The pictures on the front of each one are of animals from Earth, not animals found in Pylea." Fred showed her the cover of the first book.

"Is that a dog?" Buffy looked closer at the picture. "A very big dog?"

"It's a wolf, actually and that's my point, wolves don't exist in Pylea. Remember when I said I didn't know when humans first arrived in Pylea but they've been enslaved here for centuries?"

"Yes."

"They got here somehow and I'm thinking the demons found a way to Earth and kidnapped humans and brought them here. At some point they saw some of the animals of Earth or humans drew pictures - we're big on that - and the demons copied them. But these are the only books with pictures on the covers and they go together, I'm wondering why."

"You said you got here through a portal." Buffy said, examining the picture on the second book, which looked like a sheep with huge ears or were they horns?

"Yes, I tried to read a book I found in the Library in a very strange language. Buffy, it's the same language these books are written in, I recognize it."

"So if this language is from Pylea, than the book you found is also from Pylea and got left behind maybe."

"Yes, that's what I'm thinking. I managed to pick up some of the spoken language and if I can figure out the written language I might find some answers to several questions. We might even get lucky and this book might detail just how the demons travel to Earth."

"And if you can figure out how they travel, than you can figure out how to do it yourself, get us back home."

Fred nodded. "Most of the slaves don't even know Earth exists, their ancestors were brought here centuries ago, but you and I, we've got a life back there. We free the slaves and give them a shot at a life beyond slavery and we can go home. Of course these might be recipes, I won't know until I figure it out, but it's worth a try."

"Yeah, it is." Buffy agreed. "Alright, I need my hands free in case we run into trouble, so you're going to have to carry them unless we can find a bag. I'll hold them once we find the control room."

"Not a problem." Fred gathered the three books up and followed Buffy out into the hall. The two made their way silently down the hall checking each door they passed and turned down different halls until they found a large room in the back containing very modern looking equipment. Fred handed the books to Buffy and began examining the equipment.

"The collars are a recent addition to the slavery thing." Fred muttered. "Humans have been enslaved here for centuries, but this equipment is only a few years old. Buffy, it came from Earth."

"How can you be sure?" Buffy peered inside the panel Fred had pried off the side of the equipment.

"Because there's a manufacturing mark in here and I recognize it as a company that manufactures machine parts on Earth. How do demons from a demon dimension get an Earth company to manufacture parts for equipment for controlling slaves?"

"Either humans don't know who the client is or humans are working with the demons." Buffy growled. "If it's the second one, why?! Why would any human choose to sell out humans to demons?!"

"Greed, evil, tricked." Fred mumbled. "I can cause an overload that will burn this equipment out, but it can be repaired or replaced, it might only buy humans a small taste of freedom."

"Time enough to learn how to fight." Buffy decided. "Any chance you can make it explode? If I'm right, this is an outside wall to the castle." She tapped the wall the equipment was situated next to. "You blow up the equipment and blow out the wall at the same time, we can destroy it and escape."

"Actually, yes I can. It won't be a big one, but it will open the wall up."

"Good, let's do that. And than we get to the slave rebellion part. At which point I can finally start knocking teeth down throats."
