On the Air Temple Island something very special was taking place.
Team Avatar Dinosaur, Tenzin and his family were spectating while, perched on a table, was Petrie and in front of him was General Iroh II.
"Petrie, the flyer, for your help and your deeds in the battle against the Equalists I award you this medal for valor." said Iroh II giving the flyer a medal that was half his size.
After that, Iroh II gave a military salute which Petrie returned as the others applauded his achievement.
Later, Petrie found himself looking at his own reflection in the medal.
"We're happy for you, Petrie." said Littlefoot.
"Me never think me receive this." said Petrie.
"Yeah, why don't we get something too? We did our part in the battle too." said Cera.
"Isn't a statue of you enough for you?" asked Bolin.
"That's worth a lot to me." said Chomper.
"Besides, out of all of us, Petrie is the only one who could fly and help General Iroh II when he chased those planes." said Mako.
"And they were very fast. Faster than I, who am a fast runner and I am fast, but not faster than those planes that were very fast." said Ruby.
"You must feel very proud, Petrie." said Asami with a smile.
"Yep, yep, yep. You did a great thing." said Ducky as Spike nodded.
"Oh, no big deal. Me do something, but not as big of a deal as what Korra do in stopping Amon." said Petrie.
"Maybe, but it's nice to get some credit for something you did even if it's not much." said Korra with a smile.
"I bet your family will be happy when they hear about this." said Littlefoot.
"Me not knowing. Me think, surely, they won't get too excited." said Petrie.
But he was wrong, for as soon as they arrived and Petrie told his family what he received, his mother enveloped him in a tight hug.
"Oh, I'm so proud of you. My son is a celebrity." said Petrie's mother before her son broke free from the hug.
"You not overdo it. Me not a celebrity." said Petrie.
"What you're not a celebrity?" asked one of Petrie's brothers.
"You received a medal from a general. Whatever that is." said a Petrie's sister.
"Clearly what you did was great and courageous." said another Petrie's brother.
"Tell us what you did." said another Petrie's sister.
"That. Tell us about it." said all of Petrie's siblings.
Seeing the excitement in his siblings' eyes, Petrie decided to accept the request.
"Ok." began Petrie before taking a deep breath to tell the story. "Me on Equalist base on the mountain. We freeing human friends from cell and upon leaving, see human flying machines take flight."
"What do those flying machines look like?" asked one of Petrie's brothers.
"They like flyers, but directed by a human and with deadly weapons that make… Ta-Ta-Ta-Ta-Ta-Ta-Ta-Ta-Ta-Ta. And drop what things that make BOOM." said Petrie making machine gun and bomb gestures, startling his family.
"Sounds dangerous." said Petrie's mother nervously.
"Not only that, but they also very fast." said Petrie.
"As fast as a fast biter?" asked one of Petrie's sisters.
"Much faster." began Petrie before noticing a fly flying quickly around their nest. "They fast as a flying bug, but big in size."
"Oohh." said Petrie's siblings in amazement.
"General Iroh II want to chase them and me want to go help, since me be the only one who can fly." said Petrie.
"And you weren't afraid?" asked a Petrie's brothers.
"No, because me know it something very important and me not can afraid at that moment. Me have to stop human flying machines to prevent them from hurting more people. Me fly fast, avoid attacks from human flying machines and then…" began Petrie before launching a blast of wind into the air. "Me use airbending to shoot them down."
"Amazing." said one of Petrie's brothers.
"You really are brave." said a Petrie's sister.
"The bravest flyer in the valley." said another Petrie's sister.
"Oh, no. Me not believe that." said Petrie.
"Hooray for Petrie, the brave flyer." said another Petrie's brother.
"Hooray for Petrie, the brave flyer." said Petrie's siblings.
That left the flyer surprised.
"Brave flyer? That not sound so bad." said Petrie with a small smile.
The next day, the Team Avatar Dinosaur was in a corner of the valley, using a rock as a table while enjoying a meal together.
While the herbivores were eating plants and tree stars, Chomper was eating some ants and worms that were around and the four humans were eating some fruits they found around.
Since they couldn't simply ask for meat-based food, they had to accept the fact that, as long as they were there, they would only eat that or fish.
"I've tasted many fruits during my childhood, but these are a real treat." said Asami.
"I agree. I don't know if it is due to the fact that it has grown naturally or it is from another world." said Bolin.
"I think both, because it's grown naturally and it's otherworldly, so I think both." said Ruby.
"Hey, where's Petrie? I thought we were all meeting here." said Korra.
"Did you warn him too?" asked Mako.
"Well, yeah. We went to his nest to tell him." said Littlefoot.
"He said it would take him a while to get here, but he would." said Chomper.
"Well I hope he does it fast or Spike will eat his share." said Cera watching Spike approach Petrie's leaves with his mouth open.
"No, no, no." began Ducky pushing Spike away. "You have to be patient with this, Spike."
That's when they heard several humming, fanfare-like sounds.
Looking to the side in the sky, they saw Petrie accompanied by his siblings, who were humming the fanfare.
"Make way for the flying brave!" said one of Petrie's brothers.
"The greatest in the Great Valley." said a Petrie's sister.
"I'm sorry, did she say 'the greatest in the Great Valley'?" asked Cera with an arched eyebrow.
Petrie landed near the stone table with all his siblings behind him.
"Hi, guys." said Petrie.
"Petrie, you're late. Spike almost ate your food." said Korra.
"Hehe. Sorry. Me a little busy calming down the fans." said Petrie.
"Fans?" asked Littlefoot.
"We like to hear the story of Petrie, the brave flyer." said one of Petrie's brothers.
"Of how he defeated those fierce human flying machines." said a Petrie's sisters.
"Tell us again." said Petrie's siblings.
"Yes, yes, but me want eat something first." said Petrie.
"Done" said Petrie's siblings before starting to pick leaves.
Unfortunately, they not only took Petrie's, but some of the others' as well.
"Hey!" said Cera as one of Petrie's siblings grabbed the rest of her food.
Spike was about to eat another leaf when another of Petrie's siblings snatched it away from him, causing him to bite the air hard.
Before long, Petrie's siblings had gathered a pile of leaves in front of him before sitting on the floor in a theater audience position.
"Tell us now." said Petrie's siblings.
"Okay. How me say, me fly quickly back and forth to avoid human flying machine that not stop shooting with guns, but me not give up, me fight and then, me destroy human flying machine." said Petrie.
"And what happened next?" asked one of Petrie's sister.
"Well…" began Petrie about to tell the ending.
"I'm sure something else happened." said a Petrie's brother.
"Yes, something worthy of the brave flyer." said another Petrie's sister.
"What happened, huh? What happened?" asked another Petrie's brother.
Petrie wanted to tell the ending, but seeing the excited looks on his siblings' faces, he felt he was going to disappoint them if he did, so he decided to do something else.
"Well… when me think it all over, more human flying machines will appear." began Petrie making the rest of the team look confused. "Any flyer get scared, but me, the brave flyer, not scared, so me dive towards the human flying machines and then, me create a huge tornado that took them all down."
"Oohh." said Petrie's brothers.
"What? But no more planes left the base." said Chomper.
"It's true, it's true, it's true. Spike and Bolin tore up the runways so not one more would take off." said Ducky as Spike nodded in confirmation.
"And I think I would have heard about a tornado in the middle of the city." said Asami.
"We knew you were awesome, Petrie." said one of Petrie's brothers.
"But we didn't expect you to be so much." said a Petrie's sister.
"Come on, let's go tell everyone your story." said another Petrie's sister.
"Yes, the story of Petrie, the brave flyer." said another Petrie's brother.
After that, all of Petrie's siblings flew away.
"Petrie, why did you do that?" asked Littlefoot.
"Well, me siblings want something interesting, so me tell you." said Petrie.
"But nothing happened about that, did it?" asked Mako.
"No, but there nothing wrong with exaggerating things a little bit." said Petrie.
"Says who?" asked Cera.
"Me uncle Pterano, that who." said Petrie.
"You mean your uncle who, according to you, lies more than he talks, kidnapped Ducky and tried to use a 'Stone of Cold Fire' to take over the Great Valley?" asked Korra remembering when she was told about Petrie's evil uncle.
"Petrie, I don't think it's a good idea to take advice from someone like him." said Asami.
"Bah. Don't give it another thought. What's more, I was doing the same thing at first." said Bolin.
"Really?" asked Ducky.
"That's right. When we started to become famous, the fans wouldn't stop assaulting us. Bolin started bragging in front of them saying things like he was the ace of the team or that we wouldn't have won if it hadn't been for him… Things like that. He'd even bring a girl or two up to the balcony to watch our games up close." said Mako.
"Like you did with me and the kids?" asked Korra.
"Yes, but as you can see, I'm not like that anymore. So it's okay for Petrie to want to give his fans what they ask for." said Bolin.
"Me agree." said Petrie.
"Well, I guess that's fine." said Littlefoot.
"I just hope this doesn't go beyond what it is now." said Asami.
"In what way could it go beyond what it is now?" asked Ruby.
However, things ended up going beyond that.
In a way that the others didn't expect.
Petrie's siblings went around telling all the dinosaurs the story of their brother, Petrie, the brave flyer.
Everyone believed that story right away, except the relatives of the rest of the gang, since they knew the real story.
Everywhere Petrie went, the dinosaurs there would congratulate him and compliment him on his bravery.
Even though Petrie knew it was all an exaggeration, he couldn't help but admit that he was starting to like it.
At that time, the Team Avatar Dinosaur, except Petrie, was walking through the valley quietly.
"The brave flying this. The brave flyer the other. I keep hearing that all over the place." said Korra.
"This is starting to get out of hand." said Chomper.
"I'm just missing Petrie getting carried away with the fame." said Asami.
"Oh, come on. This is Petrie we're talking about. I highly doubt he…" began Littlefoot.
"Stand by to hear the story of the brave flyer."
Hearing that, the team approached and was shocked to see a crowd of dinosaurs gathered in front of a large rock on which stood Petrie, who looked very proud.
"Did you really take on those otherworldly things?" asked one dinosaur.
"Yes, me not hesitating to fight those things no matter how intimidating they be." said Petrie.
"What kind of weapons did they have to be so intimidating?" asked another dinosaur.
"Some guns shoot things really fast, other guns drop things that explode like smoking mountain, even have guns that shoot sky fire." said Petrie.
"Oohh." said the viewers.
"Shoot lightning? Are you telling a science fiction story?" asked Mako.
"What about that General Iroh II you were talking about earlier? Where was he the whole time?" asked another dinosaur.
"He in trouble, but thanks to me and my courage, me saving the general from danger and defeating the bad guys." said Petrie.
"Wow" said one dinosaur.
"That's awesome." said another dinosaur.
"Who knew that little guy had so much courage and power." said another dinosaur.
"Okay, maybe I wasn't there, but I highly doubt that's how the thing was." said Korra.
"Yes. In fact, I think General Iroh II would have been able to do it without him." said Bolin.
"Fame is definitely influencing him." said Asami.
"Yes, I understand that. It happened to me once." said Cera.
"Really?" asked Mako.
"That's when we ran into a pack of belly draggers. When they cornered Cera, a landslide happened that made them run away." said Littlefoot.
"But since we didn't see it, we all thought it was her that made them run away." said Ducky.
"And they started calling her the Amazing Threehorn Girl." said Chomper.
"Every time she told the story, it was a different version than the one before where she was left as the heroine in each version that was different than the one before." said Ruby.
"Did you really do all that?" asked Korra looking at the threehorn with a frown.
"I know. I wasn't on my best behavior, but it wasn't just me. My dad kept blowing things out of proportion." said Cera.
"Still you should have told the truth from the beginning instead of getting carried away." said Mako.
"Thing that's happening to Petrie right now." said Asami.
"Guys, don't worry. He's just telling them a story. I don't think he's going to exaggerate too much." said Bolin.
"So what happened after you defeated the last of those human flying machines?" asked one of Petrie's brothers.
"I bet you went after that badass named Amon." said a Petrie's sister.
"Well… that's right." said Petrie, to the surprise of the rest of the team.
In the pro-bending arena, Amon had Korra, Littlefoot and Mako cornered, who were trembling in fear.
"Now I will take away your powers so that you won't interfere with my evil plans for world domination." said Amon.
However, before he went to take another step, something came through the window next door and stood in front of Amon.
"Petrie!" said Mako with a smile.
"The brave flyer has come!" said Korra with a smile.
"We are saved!" said Littlefoot with a smile.
"No fear, friends. Me, the flying brave, me take care of him." said Petrie.
"You? What will little creature like you do against an evil and powerful human like me? You should be afraid of me." said Amon.
"Me not afraid of you, because me brave flyer and me defeat you" said Petrie before using airbending to make Amon hit the ceiling and then made him hit the walls a couple of times and then, launch a powerful gust of wind that sent Amon to the back window, far, far away in the sky until he disappeared in a flash.
After that, Korra, Mako and Littlefoot grabbed him and swung him around while shouting his name.
"Petrie! Petrie! Petrie!" they said as they swung him around.
"Petrie! Petrie! Petrie!" shouted the spectators at the story of the flyer.
However, the only ones who weren't showing jubilation were the rest of the team, who had been taken aback by that story.
Especially Korra, who was open-mouthed.
"Now that's going overboard. I wasn't afraid of Amon at any time." said Korra with a frown.
The rest of the gang looked at her in confusion, as they knew full well the truth.
"Okay, I was, but at the time, I wasn't. We all know Petrie didn't defeat him. He wasn't even there." said Korra.
"Yeah, he's definitely going through the same thing as Cera." said Littlefoot.
"Only worse and that's me saying it." said Cera.
"He needs to be taken down from the pedestal he's created before it's too late." said Mako.
"Before?" asked Asami.
With the story finished, the dinosaurs and Petrie's siblings left before the rest of the team approached Petrie.
"Ah, friends. You hear me story?" asked Petrie.
"Why yes. We heard it and let me tell you… What went through your head at the thought of telling those lies?" asked Korra angrily.
"What she meant is… Why did you tell that when you know it's not true?" asked Littlefoot.
"Me just give the public what they want hear and if they want hear stories of the brave flyer, me do it." said Petrie.
"But those stories aren't true. No, no, no." said Ducky.
"I know I said I was bragging a little bit in front of the fans, but what you're doing is beyond me." said Bolin.
"Even though you know they're not true, you act like they are." said Chomper.
"And what's worse is that you let others believe it." said Asami.
"Me not see the problem with it." said Petrie.
"Petrie, as much as they call you the brave flyer, I know you can be afraid of a lot of things sometimes." said Cera.
"Me not afraid of anything. Me brave flyer and have medal to show for it." said Petrie offended.
"That medal was given to you for what you did in that battle and it doesn't mean you are the most important person in the valley." said Mako.
"You say endlessly that you did it by yourself, but actually you did it with everyone's help, so you didn't do it by yourself like you say endlessly." said Ruby.
"Me not needing help from anyone. Me brave flyer and me able with everything." said Petrie.
"What? You can't be serious." said Littlefoot.
"Very serious." said Petrie.
"All right. If that's the way you want things, go ahead. Let's go, guys." said Korra before they all walked away, leaving the flyer alone.
"I feel kind of bad about leaving him alone. Yep, yep, yep." said Ducky as Spike groaned in sadness.
"Well, he brought it on himself. If he wants the fame all to himself so bad, let him keep it." said Cera.
"But he's our friend." said Littlefoot.
"You're right, but you heard him. He doesn't want us around." said Korra.
"I'm sure sooner or later, he'll realize he's totally wrong." said Asami.
"I am too, but I hope nothing serious happens in the meantime." said Mako.
The sun was at that moment at its highest point, shining brightly over the Great Valley.
On a rock there was a small gem sticking out like a pimple.
A ray of sunlight passed through the gem and struck a leaf on the ground.
The power of the sunbeam was so great that the leaf caught fire and the fire began to spread.
In another area, there was a dinosaur (a parasaurolophus) that was eating peacefully until a line of black smoke passed in front of it.
Looking to the side, he saw a large fire, leaving him horrified.
"Fire! Fire! Fire!" shouted the dinosaur as he ran away from the fire.
More dinosaurs heard the cry of alarm and noticed the rapidly growing fire.
In the next instant, they all panicked as they fled from the area affected by the fire.
In Petrie's nest, said flyer was lying back, basking in the sunlight while munching on some grapes.
"Ah. Me need this after telling stories of my exploits." said Petrie before popping a grape into his mouth.
"Petrie!"
That unexpected call caused him to choke on the grape and he thumped his chest a couple of times before spitting the grape out.
Glancing to the side, he saw his siblings flying quickly toward the nest.
"What happen now? Want to hear another story of the brave flyer?" asked Petrie smugly.
"No, that's not it." said a Petrie's sister.
"There's a fire in the valley" said a Petrie's brother.
"What?!" asked Petrie very surprised.
"Look. You can see it from here." said another Petrie's brother.
Petrie approached the edge of the nest and as he looked into the distance, he saw a plume of black smoke rising from far away.
"Yes, that right. We do something." said Petrie.
"Of course. You'll go put out the fire, won't you?" asked one of Petrie's brothers.
"What?" asked Petrie in confusion and surprise.
"Yeah, you're the brave flyer. I'm sure you can handle something like this." said a Petrie's sister.
"It's something worthy of your greatness and courage." said another Petrie's sister.
Petrie looked at the fire before looking at his siblings and then at the medal presented to him by General Iroh II.
Despite the fact that he was nervous about having to face a fire by himself, the fact that his siblings trusted him was enough to give him courage.
"As brave flyer, me go and put out the fire. Me save Great Valley." said Petrie before taking flight as his siblings cheered him on.
That's right.
He was the flying brave.
The greatest in the Great Valley.
He wasn't going to let a simple fire cow him.
Not when he had taken on the planes.
Team Avatar Dinosaur heard the panic and quickly ran to an area where the dinosaurs were fleeing.
"What's going on?" asked Korra.
"There's a fire in the Great Valley! We must flee!" said the dinosaur who witnessed the fire at first before turning back with his flight.
"A fire?" asked Ducky in surprise as did Spike.
"It's true. You can see the smoke from here." said Littlefoot looking at the plume of smoke in the distance.
"We have to put them out before it spreads too much." said Mako.
"Right, let's go there." said Korra.
"That not necessary." began Petrie before flying in front of them. "Because brave flyer here to solve the problem."
"Please, Petrie, tell me you're not going to take care of the fire by yourself." said Asami.
"Of course me do it. Me brave flyer. Me can with it." said Petrie.
"Have you lost your mind, Petrie? You can't handle a natural disaster by yourself. Even Avatar Roku couldn't handle a volcano by himself." said Korra knowing what the Avatar before Aang did before he died.
"But me can and me can prove it now." said Petrie before flying straight into the fire.
"Wait, Petrie!" exclaimed Chomper trying to stop him.
"He's definitely lost his mind." said Cera.
"Even Cera didn't do anything like that when that happened to her and she didn't do anything like that." said Ruby.
"We have to go help him." said Bolin.
"No, let's not." said Korra.
"What? Why not?" asked Ducky.
"Petrie has insisted that he can handle this on his own, so let's let the brave flyer solve the problem and see what happens." said Korra.
Despite the fact that it was a bad idea to leave their friend to fight a fire alone, they could see the Avatar's intentions, so they decided to stand there and wait for the outcome, hoping it wouldn't be too bad one.
Petrie flew through the trees until he reached the area where the fire was, which had covered much of the place.
Petrie looked around, trying to think of a way to put it out.
"Let's see, in human world, put out candle with a puff, so me do that." began Petrie before launching a gust of wind at a burning part which he managed to put out. "Haha. Me know. Work."
Petrie began to throw blasts of wind at the burned areas, managing to put out a couple of flames, but others were more resistant.
That's when, throwing another gust of wind, he caused the fire he tried to put out to hit a tree that hadn't caught fire, but now had, to the flyer's horror.
"Oh, no. No, no, no. You not set fire anymore. You put out." said Petrie throwing another gust of wind to put out the tree fire, but it only caused the tree's burning leaves to fall on several unburned areas that caught fire because of the burning leaves.
Petrie was horrified to see that he was only making the fire grow larger and larger.
Suddenly, he heard cracking sounds behind him and turned around, only to be shocked when he saw a tree being knocked down on top of him.
Fortunately, he was able to react quickly and move out of the way of the tree that fell hard to the ground, but that only made the fire increase even more.
That ended up creating a black smoke that covered everything, making him cough loudly before using airbending to dispel the smoke.
Looking around, he saw that the area was even worse than before.
Just thinking that the valley was in greater danger than before because of him made fear fill every fiber of his being.
"Oh, me wish me firebender or waterbender. What me do? What me do?!" asked Petrie desperate for an answer.
At that moment, he began to remember the times he was afraid, but he was able to overcome it because he was with his friends at all those times, from before he went to the human world to the fights against the Equalists and the battle for which General Iroh II gave him a medal.
Finally, Petrie realized what he really needed himself or rather, the whole valley.
So, after making a decision, he left at full speed.
The rest of the Team Avatar Dinosaur remained in the distance, watching the course of the fire as they awaited the outcome of Petrie's act.
"It doesn't look like it's going out. No, no, no." said Ducky.
"On the contrary. It seems to be making it worse." said Mako.
"Ha. I knew he wouldn't be able to do anything on his own." said Cera.
"Do you think he'll be okay? Should we go check on him?" asked Littlefoot.
"We'll keep waiting and if he doesn't show up in a couple of minutes, we'll go in." said Asami.
"Well we'll have to wait a long time." said Chomper pointing to the front, where they could all see Petrie quickly flying towards them and landing in front of everyone.
"Petrie, are you all right?" asked Bolin.
"Me… Me… Me…" began Petrie nervously not knowing how to begin.
"You what?" asked Ruby.
"Me not able to handle it alone. Me need help." said Petrie.
"Weren't you the brave flyer? The one who defeated a fleet of Equalist planes and Amon single-handedly?" asked Korra.
"Besides, you said you didn't need us." said Littlefoot.
"Me wrong. Me know that telling lies and me sorry. Me do need you. Please, will you help me?" begged Petrie.
The rest of the team looked at each other before smiling at the flyer.
"Of course we'll help you. We're friends." said Korra.
"And friends are there to help each other no matter what happened." said Littlefoot.
"Yep, yep, yep. You will always be our friend." said Ducky hugging the flyer.
"I'm glad you came to your senses in time." said Bolin.
"Speaking of time. We need to take care of that fire as soon as possible." said Mako pointing to the plume of black smoke.
"You're right. Do you know if there are any rivers or lakes near here?" asked Korra.
"There's a pond over there, but it's not very big that pond over there." said Ruby.
"It will have to do. Ducky, Ruby and Korra, go gather all the water you can. Mako, Littlefoot and Chomper, go over there and use your firebending to keep it from expanding even more. Bolin, Cera and Spike, create barriers to cordon off the affected areas. I'll go make sure there are no injuries." said Asami.
"What about me what to do?" asked Petrie.
"You go with Mako and the others and try to contain the fire a bit with your airbending." said Asami.
"How do you know all that?" asked Korra.
"Let's just say Future Industries had a fire or two and I learned a thing or two from them. Now, let's go!" said Asami before everyone got going.
Korra, Ducky and Ruby arrived at the pond and used waterbending together to lift much of the water into a large bubble and carefully, but hurriedly, carried it to the burned area.
Asami went running through the affected area while searching for any straggling dinosaurs that had been caught in the flames, but fortunately, she found no one, so she proceeded to leave quickly before the smoke affected her too much.
Mako, Littlefoot and Chomper positioned themselves and used firebending to make the flames stop in place, even reducing their power a bit.
Petrie did his part by using airbending to keep the flames from pointing toward a safe area, preventing it from spreading.
Despite their combined efforts, with too much fire, they wouldn't be able to contain it at all or for long.
Bolin, Cera and Spike used earthbending to create a barrier around the burned area, causing the fire to stay in place.
Soon after, Bolin, Cera, Spike and Asami met up with the fire and air squadron.
"There's no one around besides us. How about you?" asked Asami.
"Barrier established." said Bolin.
"No flame will get out of here." said Cera as Spike nodded in confirmation.
"How about you?" asked Asami to the fire and air squadron.
"We do what we can." said Mako.
"But there's too much fire." said Littlefoot.
"We can't keep this up for long." said Chomper.
"We can do it. Together we put out the fire." said Petrie.
"Well said, Petrie."
They all looked to the side to see Korra, Ducky and Ruby arrive on the scene and far above them was a large bubble of water.
"I'm warning you that it's going to rain a lot around here. Ready, girls?" asked Korra.
"Ready and set when you say we're ready and set." said Ruby.
"Good. On my mark, girls. One… Two… Three." said Korra just as she and the other two popped the bubble, causing water to fall like rain over the area.
Fortunately, the water was of sufficient quantity to extinguish all the flames and in no time, the fire was completely out, so everyone let out a sigh of relief.
"Good thing it's over. Yep, yep, yep." said Ducky.
"Yes, things have turned out better than when there was that drought." said Cera remembering when the water in the valley was reduced.
"That's right." said Littlefoot.
"Oh, thank you, thank you. Me very grateful to you." said Petrie.
"You're welcome, Petrie and I hope you don't start bragging about how you did it all by yourself." said Korra.
"Yeah, me understand that doing all that wrong. Me telling things that never happen and letting fame go to me head. Me not deserve General Iroh II's medal. When me can, me give it back to you." said Petrie.
"Petrie…" began Korra.
"The brave flyer has done it again!"
Looking to the side, they all saw Petrie's siblings arrive on the scene.
"Oh, no. Here we go again." said Asami.
"And here I thought my fans were crazy!" said Bolin.
Petrie's siblings landed on the ground in front of their brother.
"We knew you could do it." said one of Petrie's brothers.
"Actually me…" began Petrie trying to explain.
"Our brother is the bravest of all." said one of Petrie's sisters.
"But me not…" began Petrie again.
"Come on, let's go tell everyone about how Petrie, the brave flyer, put out a fire on his own." said another Petrie's brother getting affirmations from the others.
"IT NOT LIKE THAT!" shouted Petrie, getting the attention of his siblings. "Not like that. Me not put out fire alone. Me friends help me." began Petrie pointing to his friends on the team. "Me not really brave. Me try to put out fire alone, but me not able to do it and me get scared."
"But you defeated a fleet of human flying machines." said one of Petrie's sisters.
"And Amon." said a Petrie's brother.
"Me not do that. Me just defeat a couple of human flying machines, but not a fleet, and me never face Amon. Me afraid to fight him." said Petrie.
"And why did you tell us those lies?" asked one of Petrie's sisters.
"Because brothers and sisters want to hear that. When me tell the real story, you want to hear more and draw conclusions from me being strong and brave on me own, but me not really that. Not without the help of your friends." said Petrie sharing a smile with his friends.
"Wow. We're… We're really sorry, Petrie." said a Petrie's brother.
"We didn't mean to get you into this situation." said a Petrie's sister.
"It's just that we're jealous of you." said another Petrie's sister.
"Jealous? Of me?" asked Petrie.
"Of course you are. You're an airbender." said a Petrie's sister.
"You traveled to a whole new world." said a Petrie's brother.
"And you fought opponents that would make any one of us cringe." said another Petrie's brother.
"You may not think of yourself as the brave flyer to you, but you are to us." said another Petrie's sister.
Petrie was so moved by that he felt like he was going to cry.
"Oh, come and hug, siblings." said Petrie before they all wrapped themselves in a group hug.
"Petrie" began Korra causing the flyers to break the hug. "The simple fact that you were willing to give up your medal, that you accepted our help and confessed the truth makes you truly deserving of that medal of valor."
"True courage isn't in facing opponents with powers or natural disasters on your own, but in admitting the things that really matter." said Mako.
"Oh, thanks, friends." said Petrie.
"Come on, guys. Let's tell everyone the true story of Petrie, the brave flyer… and his brave friends." said one of Petrie's brothers.
"I'm sure you'll all love it!" said a Petrie's sister.
Quickly, Petrie's siblings flew off to inform everyone.
"I guess there will be some things that never change." said Chomper with a smile.
"Well, now people won't only consider Petrie famous, but we'll be famous too instead of just Petrie." said Ruby.
"I like that better already." said Cera with a smile.
"Just don't let fame go to your heads." said Petrie.
"The mute spoke and said what he could." Asami said with a smile.
That made everyone share a slight chuckle.
"But really, we don't do any of this for everyone's fame or adoration. We do it because we want to, to protect that which is important to all of us." said Littlefoot.
"That's right, buddy. That's right." said Korra patting the longneck's head before they all shared a smile.
