A knight's new life
Inside a massive building with a stylized silver phoenix surrounded by a black plaque, three people were standing in the largest room of their base of operations. It was a boy, a girl with modest assets and a boy that is incredibly feminine. The first boy is relatively tall, has somewhat messy dark brown hair styled in low spikes, pale yellow eyes and is wearing dark green pants, maroon boots that go up to the knees, and two metal plates on the top of each foot with a gold stripe going up the front of each boot. He's wearing a low belt and a maroon coat with white and gold highlights with about 1/5 of the top sleeves gone while a sleeve cover the rest of each arm and most of either hand, while leaving the fingers exposed. The shoulders of the coat both had a slim piece of metal protecting the front, top and back of his shoulders at the arm holes. His name is archid walter, and he has a simple single edge gunblade on his hip.
The girl had messy, if slightly straight, dark brown hair with a small braid in the back and small clips holding back some hair on either side of the braid. She's wearing a white and pink top with some purple highlights with the sleeves going slightly above her elbows with the chest slightly open to not only tempt her lover, but to let her girls breathe. She's wearing a crumpled pink skirt that somewhat covers her modesty. She's wearing white socks that go up most of the length of her legs, leaving about 3 inches of open space between the skirt and socks. She's wearing simple brown boots with a wide opening and brown half gloves with slight yellow trim that cover half her hands and go part way up her forearms. She wears two belts: one on her waist at a styled angle with the other right under her modest bust to give her some support. To finish off her look, she's wearing a sleeveless maroon greatcoat with yellow accents that the back of goes to her knees. Her name is adeltrude walter. The slightly younger twin brother of archid, and she also had pale yellow eyes. Her gunblade looks similar to archid's, but the blade of hers is closer to a medium sized cutlass.
The final member of the three is the boy with really feminine looks. He has slightly shining silver hair with purple-green-blue eyes. He's a good deal thinner and shorter than everyone his age. He's wearing a white t-shirt that's just long enough to cover his modesty with black, blue and light grey accents and his shoulders exposed and a wide collar that sticks out. He wears black short shorts under the shirt, black boots with blue accents ending just before they reach his shorts (much like adeltrude's socks) and he wears gloves similar to adeltrude. However, instead of brown and yellow, his gloves are black with blue trim. He has two weapons that look like guns that have retractable blades at the end under the barrel of each weapon on either hip. His name is ernesti echevalier, the best friend of archid and adeltrude since childhood (ever since he saved adeltrude from falling off a roof, and unknowingly getting her affections after he did so) and they're thick as thieves, and the three of them are 18 (despite ernesti looking closer to about 14).
In front of the three of them is a massive engraving on the floor. The one that made it (a new graduate of the magic academy for the order was excitedly explaining all the scientific stuff about the runes, how they intermingled, how it's powered and its purpose. "Please, stop with the technical talk, and give it to us straight," ernesti said as he held up a hand, interrupting the person. "I'm not undermining your work, but i'm fairly certain that the three of us only managed to understand a small fraction of what you explained," ernesti said. Beside him, archid looked like he was trying to figure out quantum physics, while adeltrude had a slightly blank look on her face as steam escaped from her head.
"Very well, commander. I will make it simpler for you three to understand," the newbie said. Before they started, ernesti shook adeltrude and archid a bit to snap them out of it. When the three paid attention, the newbie started. "Ok, simply put, this runic circle will allow a small number of people to travel to another dimension for a few hours, before they, and whatever they are holding, are automatically brought back. The only downside is that it takes a crap ton of mana to power up, but this can be solved with concentrated, solidified ether," the newbie said.
"Alright, i'm eager to see another world for a bit," adeltrude said eagerly, while archid just gave a small smirk and a nod in agreement. Ernesti, on the other hand, looked pensive as he tapped his chin for a bit. "Welp, it's not a silhouette knight, but this is interesting. Nothing ventured, nothing gained," he said. Ernesti, archid and adeltrude all stepped onto the runic circle. The circle powered up, blocked off entry to the circle with a ring of lightning and the three vanished.
The newbie let out a sigh of relief as he wiped nervous sweat from his brow. "Whew, glad it sent them. I REALLY did not want to kill the commanders with this experiment, even by accident," he looked past the lightning at a certain part of the runes that was slowly fading away. "Looks like they successfully got teleported. Now i just need to wait for them to come back in a few hours to find out if it was truly successful," the newbie finished.
With the three commanders
Ernesti, archid and adeltrude appeared in a flash of lightning that erupted from the ground. They immediately looked down and saw that their clothes, despite being slightly singed, were perfectly fine (much to adeltrude's internal relief, since she didn't bring any other clothes). The three looked around them, and saw that they were in what appeared to be an alley, of some sort.
So, the three left the alley and started to explore their new location together. Once out of the alley, they immediately noticed the difference between this world and their home world. First, none of the buildings (houses) were built with any material they were familiar with and looked like they could be easily destroyed. Second, they saw weird moving metal boxes with people in them (cars). Third, they saw boxes with moving pictures (tv's) behind windows in what looked like a store. Finally, the air was nowhere near as clean as their world, so they felt like they were slowly suffocating while still being able to breathe.
"Ugh, this place is interesting, but how can the people live with air like this?!" archid demanded to know while he covered his nose with his hand. "I agree. I hope we get back home, soon," adeltrude said as she also covered her nose with her hand. Ernesti was just ignoring the smell of the impure air as best he could, when he saw a newspaper stand. He quickly ran to it, with his friends following him.
Before he reincarnated into his current life, ernesti took classes on english. Just in case his job met with those that spoke english, but not japanese. So, as a result, he was able to read the paper. "Looks like we're in a place called surrey, england," ernesti translated for his friends. Archid and adeltrude looked like they wanted to ask how he read the strange language on the odd material (they use something similar to parchment) but they thought better of it, and just dismissed it as an erni thing.
So, the three of them left the area and explored the area around them. About 45 minutes after being given some free samples of a new type of candy (the maker decided to essentially try fusing reese's peanut butter cups, jolly ranchers and twizzlers (that's a disgusting combination), they ended up in an area of housing that all looked the same, somewhat freaking the three out.
"This is creepy," adeltrude said nervously as she cuddled up to ernesti (her love interest) in some fear. "Yeah, i agree," archid said as his hand twitched towards his gunblade. Before ernesti could say anything, there was a loud scream of pain. Without thinking, ernesti ran towards the source, placing his hands on his weapons and channeling his mana into them, causing him to fly. "Erni, wait up!" adeltrude yelled in protest before she ran after him and did the same, flying after him. "Damnit," archid groaned as he flew after his friend and his sister.
After a bit of flying, ernesti landed in front of number four privet drive. His friends landed right beside him an instant before he grabbed one of his weapons, drew it, aimed it at the door and blasted it with a small fireball spell. "Erni, why did you do that?!" adeltrude asked before her brother could. "That scream was that of a child, and it sounded in pain," ernesti said, before he walked in, gunblade ready to fire. A moment later, archid and adeltrude followed him inside.
"WHAT ARE YOU FREAKS DOING IN MY HOME?!" a really fat man yelled at them. "What's a demon beast doing HERE?" ernesti asked in shock. Before anyone can say anything else, a small whimper was heard. Adeltrude reacted on instinct and ran to a door that had 12 locks on it. "YOU BITCH, STAY AWAY FROM THERE!" vernon ordered her as he reached out to grab her. However, before he could touch her, two blasts of wind sent him flying through a wall. The blasts came from archid, who had a severe frown on his face and a subtle anger in his eyes as the demon beast yelled at and insulted his sister, while the other blast came from ernesti, who also had a frown on his face and anger in his eyes. However, ernesti had felt something unfamiliar and kinda painful in his chest and stomach when the obese demon beast yelled at his friend. He decided then that he did not like that feeling.
Adeltrude, on the other hand, quickly drew her gunblade and slashed all the locks off with one strike before she put her gunblade back on her hip, before she opened the door. Once she opened the door, a disgustingly revolting smell came out of the now open door. Once she was able to breathe better, she looked inside and nearly started to cry, nearly yelled in fury and nearly puked up the contents of her stomach at the view she saw.
Inside the room (if you can call it that) was a very thin baby mattress and a semi-large wooden bucket that was nearly full. Most of the smell was coming from that bucket, then she looked at what was on the bed and she gasped in horror. On that bed was a little girl with wild black hair (similar to her own, but slightly more untamed) with pale white skin. On one end of the mattress was a rather large splash of red and the girl's leg was at an unnatural angle and was still bleeding (and the bleeding was slowly stopping, though it was impossible to see) and she looked to be little more than skin and bones and it looked like she once had glasses, but there was glass around her eyes, signalling that they were broken.
Reacting on some kind of instinct, she quickly and carefully picked up the girl and held her close, while the girl whimpered in pain. Once the girl felt arms wrap around her, she started to squirm in fear of being hit again. However, she started to feel warmth from the arms and she heard a soothing sound. With those, in addition to being really tired, she fell into a somewhat peaceful slumber. Just before her eyes closed, she saw a girl with hair similar to her own. The girl reached out to her and said one thing that surprised archid, ernesti ans especially adeltrude. "Mama," the girl said weakly before she fell asleep.
Adeltrude was shocked and surprised, but she quickly grabbed the extended hand from the girl gently. "It's ok, little one. Mama's here," she said with a gentle smile and a soothing tone. The child's breathing somewhat evened out. Adeltrude looked at her brother and love interest, worry and fury in her gaze. "Make that demon beast suffer for what it did to her," she told them before she ran out the door and flew off to find a medical ward.
"Wow, i've NEVER seen addie like that," archid said. "Neither have i. However, i agree with her on this. The demon beast before us must be punished for hurting that girl. If it dies, oh well," ernesti said coldly. Ernesti may be a bit clueless when it comes to social norms, but he hates seeing children hurt in any capacity, and the ones that hurt the children deserve nothing but death after a very thorough beating, in his honest opinion. So, both ernesti and archid started slicing and blasting the thing that hurt the girl. With a final blast of a magic spell, the two used wind magic to slice the demon beast nearly into pieces, so that it would bleed out. "Suffer for what you have done to that girl," ernesti said, before he flew out the door to find addie, with archid right behind him.
In a hospital waiting room (ten minutes ago)
Adeltrude looked for anything that would look like a medical ward, before she saw a large building with a red plus sign on it. Keeping a firm but gentle hold on the girl, she quickly landed and put her gunblade back on her hip and quickly went inside and went to the front desk. "Please, she needs help," adeltrude said desperately. The nurse took one look at the child and quickly went to get a doctor and nurse, before adeltrude sat in a chair.
The girl stirred a bit and blearily opened her eyes, but the world around her was basically just a giant blur for her. However, she saw a mess of black hair, so she reached for the hair and spoke in a weak voice, "mama?". Adeltrude gently grasped the hand and smiled lovingly at her, even though the child could not see it. "It's ok, baby. Mama's here," adeltrude kissed the girl on the forehead, and the girl went back to sleep.
A few minutes later, a doctor and a nurse appeared in front of her. "Is that the girl that needs help?" the nurse asked. Adeltrude nodded and stood up with the girl in her arms. "Follow us," the doctor said. The doctor and nurse led adeltrude to a room in the back and immediately took the girl from her (albeit gently, so as to not wake her) and performed an x-ray. Once that was done, they set the bone as best they could and tightly wrapped it.
Once the x-ray picture was complete, the nurse and doctor looked at it. Whoever did this to her is a monster of the worst kind," the nurse spat. "I heartily agree. I hope the monster burns in hell for what he did," the doctor said. "Why's that?" adeltrude asked, having a bad feeling in her stomach. "Because it looks like the poor girl has been practically tortured for 3 years," the nurse said. "In addition to that, the girl has severe malnutrition, so she looks like she's 2, instead of 5, in addition to the glass in her face. Luckily the glass missed anything important, so they can be removed," the doctor said. "Please remove the glass from her face," adeltrude said.
The doctor goes elsewhere and comes back with tweezers and a small plastic container. "Now please hold her still, i don't want to cause unneeded injury," the doctor asked. Adeltrude nodded, and the doctor started to carefully remove the glass from the face of the injured girl. The girl whimpered a bit in pain, but the process took about two minutes. There we go, that's all the glass," the doctor said before he put the container to the side. "The girl will need some glasses, she needs to stay off that leg, for now, and she needs nutrient rich foods that are easy to digest," the doctor said.
Adeltrude nodded and, with the girl in her arms asleep, she was led out into the lobby, where ernesti and her brother were waiting. They saw that the girl was taken care of, so they sighed in relief, and the three of them (four, if you count the little girl) left. A short time later, archid, ernesti and adeltrude all started to feel a tingling at the same time. "I think our time here has ended. Let's find a secluded area, so we don't freak out the locals," ernesti suggested, so they went into a nearby alley. A few feet in (just enough to be hidden from view, except if you were looking directly into the alley), ernesti, archid and adletrude (with the girl in her arms) fell to their knees as painful tingling spread throughout their bodies that lasted for a few moments, before they were back in the runic circle, as the lightning died down.
"Welcome back, commanders. How did it go?" he asked before he noticed the extra person. "And why is commander adeltrude carrying a little girl?" the newbie asked in concern. "She was being abused by this odd demon beast," adeltrude said. "I see. I'm glad that you got her away from there," the newbie said in relief.
The girl woke up and looked around, the injuries around her eyes already healed, but her sight was still blurry. She whimpered a bit, before she noticed her mama's hair, before she reached for it. "Mama?" she asked. Adeltrude giggled a bit before she grabbed the girl's hand. "Mama's here, baby," adeltrude said lovingly. The newbie was surprised, but he quickly got over it. "So, commander adeltrude, what are you going to call her?" he asked her. Adeltrude thought about it for a bit, before she came up with a name. "Nyx. i will call her nyx raven walter," adeltrude said. The newly named nyx giggled at that, as she tried to reach for her mother with her other hand.
In an office at a castle in the scottish highlands
The one that works in this particular office is out, for the time being. Therefore, he didn't see or hear some moving instruments suddenly stop moving, while a few items simply stopped working in some fashion. However, since there are a number of items in that office that are loud, the person will not notice, until it's time for the acceptance letter to be sent out.
