Sero had been interested in Shoto since the moment he met him, the more they got to know one another the more interested he got. They were in their third year now, and Sero found most of their class were starting to form relationships.

Bakugo had Kirishima

Shinso had Denki.

Momo had Jiro.

Hagakure had Aoyama.

Asui had Tokoyami.

The others were going on casual dates with either one another or people outside of their classes. Sero didn't know how he was supposed to go about it, but he wanted to ask Shoto to go out with him.

Sero was sitting in the common room when Kirishima appeared behind him. "Hanta, I had a question for you."

"Sure, what's the question?"

"This is more for Mina than myself, but who are you interested in going out with?"

"Huh?"

"Mina is dying, you haven't gone on any dates like we all have… Who can she try and set you up with?"

"Well… It's just that… I- I don't know if… I- I don't think they like anyone.. At least not me…"

"Who is it?" Kirishima asked as he sat beside him on the couch.

Sero was about to answer him before Denki came running past them with Bakugo in hot pursuit. "You damn sparks for brains! I swear I am going to kill you."

Kirishima stood up and picked his boyfriend up, Bakugo was clawing at the air with a shout as Denki snickered and hid behind Shinso. "What is going on?"

"Your idiot boyfriend zapped me when I tried to grab something in the kitchen." Bakugo snarled. Kirishima chuckled as he held him tightly. Shinso looked down at Denki who simply smiled back up at him.

"Why did you do that?"

"Sorry…" Denki replied.

"You should say sorry to Bakugo, not me."

"Sorry, Katsuki…" Denki smiled up at him.

"If you zap me one more time, I will kill you." Bakugo snarled. Izuku and Shoto came walking into the main area. Sero's eyes shot from his arguing group of friends to Shoto. Eijiro turned his head and noticed the look on Sero's face and he immediately knew the answer to his question.

"Come on Bakubabe, let's go work out and blow off some steam."

"Denki, we need to talk about you messing with Bakugo…" Shinso said as he grabbed Denki's hand.

"We can talk later, Hanta." Kirishima called as he carried Bakugo off towards the gym.

"What was that all about?" Izuku asked, sitting across from him, Shoto smiled and sat on the floor.

"Denki zapped Bakugo over something."

"I see…" Izuku chuckled. "Sounds about right…" Sero looked between Izuku and Shoto. He honestly thought that they were together. He knew very well that everyone found Izuku handsome, and Shoto was the school's sweetheart. Shoto looked between Sero and Izuku.

"So, I heard that Mina was trying to set some of us on dates."

"Oh, so this is a full class situation is it?" He sighed, was he that embarrassing to be around because he was single?

"It is in fact."

"She keeps asking me too, seems like you and I are the only two who haven't gone on any dates." Shoto said softly.

Sero's head lifted up in surprise, Shoto was actually single?

"Who is it that you want to go on a date with?"

Shoto's face grew pink, Izuku chuckled a bit. "What about you Sero?" Shoto asked, trying to avoid the answer. He was almost positive he didn't feel the same way.

Sero was silent for a moment before he looked him over. "Actually.. I- Well… Shoto, would you maybe want to go out with me?"

Shoto's eyes widened in surprise, ice began to form on the edge of the table. "W-wait what?"

"I mean if you don't want to, you don't have to…"

"N-No I would like to."

Sero's smile lit up. "Do you want to go to the cat cafe?"

Izuku grinned, this was going far smoother than he expected. He had agreed to help Mina find Sero and Shoto a match, and after talking to Shoto for a while he realized that Shoto liked Sero. Mina loved being a matchmaker, she loved love.

Shoto's eyes widened. "A cat cafe! Yes please."

"Perfect, u-uhm do you want to go today or t-tomorrow?"

"We have time today, I can go get my bag."

"Let's go then." Sero stood up quickly, he nearly fell on his face as he went to grab for his wallet. Shoto stood up and followed Sero quickly, he turned to look at Izuku who smiled and gave him a thumbs up. Shoto felt his face growing red.

Mina was walking down the stairs as she watched them walk out the door. She grinned wide and sent a text to her group chat. "It looks like Sero and Shoto are going on a date! Good job team!"

Kirishima, Ochako, and Izuku smiled as they checked the text, Izuku sent a thumbs up while the other two sent a cheering emoji.

"How long have you liked me?" Shoto asked as they walked to Sero's car.

"Since the first day of school."

Shoto's eyes widened. "Wait, really?"

"Y-Yeah… Are you just accepting a date with me or do you like me?"

"I've liked you since our 1st year….."

Sero's eyes widened, he should have tried to go out with him way earlier. Though, the fact his father was Endeavour didn't help any. "So we could have been going on dates before now?"

"I suppose that is what this means…. I apologize I have been told I'm not good with feelings or expressing them…"

Sero smirked. "You don't have to apologize, I shouldn't have been such a chicken…"

Shoto grinned at him softly. "We also, you know, went through war…"

Sero nodded. "You aren't wrong about that…" The two sighed as they leaned into one another as they walked to Sero's car. He opened the door for Shoto with a wide smile on his face. "Do you know how long I have wanted to ask you to go out with me?"

"Why didn't you?" Shoto asked softly. Curious if there was a reason or if it was just nerves for the both of them.

"Well… I- I wasn't confident in myself at first you know, then we had a war that made being a teenager hard. Still is… Also I just thought you and Izuku were together…Or that you were on the other end of the ace spectrum from Mina. Not interested in a relationship."

Shoto nodded thinking for a moment, he was very close to Izuku but it was a far different relationship. He could also understand the idea of being seen as aromantic, he was demisexual so it took more of a bond to feel interested in someone. On that front he could also understand why people would assume he and Izuku would be romantically involved.

"Well, I am demisexual, but I am not on the aromantic spectrum like Mina is." Sero cocked his head for a moment then realized he had said ace and not aro.

"I see, guess I should have just asked." Sero felt embarrassed, had he just asked he might not have been pining this long.

"We both were nervous… I never asked you either."

Sero smiled softly. "Well, we need to make up for lost time. Ready to go to the cafe?"

Shoto nodded excitedly, Sero shut the door once Shoto buckled his belt. He shook out his hands and then placed himself in the driver's seat. Shoto was smiling big, it was clear that he was excited about their outing. "Have you ever had a boyfriend?" Shoto asked.

"No…."

"Girlfriend?"

"Also no."

"Me either." Shoto replied. "So this will be a first for us both…"

Sero nodded and Shoto felt his face growing hot again, he couldn't believe they were actually going on a date. He was starting to question himself, why hadn't he ever just tried to ask Sero out?

The drive didn't take long, both of them were so giddy and excited about their date. Sero pulled into the parking lot and opened Shoto's door for him. "Ready?" Sero asked, offering his arm.

Shoto took his arm with a wide smile, he had been waiting for this for a long time and he wished he had asked or said something at least once.

Shoto leaned into him as they walked into the cafe. Sero smiled as he felt Shoto's warmth, he opened the door for Shoto and helped him to a seat. "This place is so cute, look at the cats!" Shoto watched the cats snuggling into one another and chased lasers and springs about.

"Is there any specific drink you want?"

"A strawberry boba?"

"Got it," Sero smiled and ordered them both drinks. Shoto watched the kittens and cats running around. Sero returned with a boba for Shoto and a coffee for himself. Sero grinned as a kitten jumped on the table, Shoto's eyes widened.

"This is the best thing ever."

Sero snickered, "I've wanted to bring you here for so long." He placed his hand on the table and Shoto squeezed it.

"I'm glad we finally did this… I shouldn't have been.. Well I shouldn't have been so worried about what you would think of me."

"Same for me," Sero remarked," I shouldn't have been worried."

Shoto looked down at his boba, he smiled softly as he leaned across the table. Sero froze for a moment before he met him in the middle. Shoto's eyes fluttered shut, Sero could have sworn fireworks were bursting around them. The cafe felt like it seemed to fall away, his drink began to freeze as he fell into him.

Sero pulled back to take a breath, Shoto's eyes were wide. "Th-that was amazing."

Sero nodded. "Yeah… I-It was.." He grinned, "Can I kiss you again?"

"Yes," Shoto smiled, "of course."

Sero got up, and walked towards him. He tipped Shoto's chin up, and leaned forward kissing him. "Thank you.."

Shoto blushed and kissed him back. "Thank you for taking me out."

Sero sat back down and squeezed his hand. "Shoto, I- Will you be my boyfriend?"

"Really?"

"Yes, really."

Shoto blushed. "Yes, yes I would like that… I would like to be your boyfriend."

Sero grinned wide, Shoto took a sip of his boba. As he pulled the straw away from his lips a tabby with grey and black fur curled up in Shoto's lap. Shoto looked at Sero with big eyes. "Sero… Look."

"You were chosen."

"Best night ever." Shoto whispered as he slowly began to pet the cat. "I got a boyfriend and a cat chose me.."

Sero snickered and took a sip of his drink, Shoto took another sip of his boba. Both boys only wished they had asked the other one on a date earlier.
