"Maarineeette. You're going to be late to school if you dont wake up." A familiar voice whispered softly into Marinette's ear. Marinette giggled softly and turned on her side. She had a long day yesterday dealing with a large bat akuma that turned people into fruits upon biting them.

"Five more minutes Maman." Marinette grumbled. As she held another pillow close to her chest. She wanted to reach the end of this dream for once. "Adrien~." He was so handsome and perfect.

The voice sighed. "You made me do this." Something bit Marinette's causing her to jump off of the bed with a yelp. Landing on the cold hard floor with a thud, Marinette groaned softly in pain.

"Really Tikki?" Marinette opened an eye and glared at the red kwami. Tikki only smiled in response and nuzzled her cheek.

"You're going to be late to school if you don't hurry now."

Late to school? Wasn't it a Sunday? Marinette glanced at her calendar which was covered in pictures of Adrien.

"Its a Monday? GAH!" Marinette jumped up and started to get changed. "Why did you wake me earlier?" Marinette exclaimed as she threw on her signature jacket and shirt. Alya was going to throw a fit if she was late again.

Tikki stared at Marinette blankly. "I've been trying to wake you up for the past hour." She giggled after that with a smile formed on her face.

"Do I have time for makeup?" Marinette stared at herself in the mirror, now fully dressed. She grabbed her lip gloss. "This should be all that I need."

Opening the attic door that led into the main house, Marinette opened her purse allowing Tikki to fly in. She would make it to school on time, without breakfast, as long as she didn't get into any accidents!

Too bad Marinette didn't have much luck whenever she wasn't transformed into Ladybug. She immediately ran into a rather tall customer with crimson hair as soon as she entered the bakery.

"I'm very sorry Madam." The man spoke in an accent that didn't sound French. Perhaps an American or an Englishman. He helped Marinette stand up slowly.

"You should be more careful Marinette." Maman said as she handed Marinette a bag filled with some pastry for breakfast.

Marinette blushed and bowed her head towards the crimson haired man with a ponytail. "I'm sorry!" She was definitely going to be late.

"No worries. I should have been paying attention to where I was going." The man said with a nervous smile as he scratched the back of his neck.

Marinette smiled in return when she felt squirming around her purse.

"Oh no I'm going to be late!" Marinette ran out of the bakery screaming as her parents waved goodbye.

She didn't notice the blonde girl standing outside the bakery who stood at attention.

Claudia Hodgins enjoyed civilian life. After a couple tours in Afghanistan with the French Foreign Legion, or the Légion Étrangére as the French call it, Hodgins decided that he missed civilian life. The smell of bread made his mouth water.

The FFL's provisions could never compare to Parisian bread.

"I'm sorry about that." Mrs. Sabine said as she placed the bread he had chosen into a bag. Born in the United States, Hodgins found it hard to call people monsieur or mademoiselle.

"No worries. I remember an age when I was like that." Hodgins smiled. If only a certain blonde girl could learn to act like a normal teenager.

Mrs. Sabine nodded with a smile of her own and held the bag out to him. Moving to take out his wallet, she interrupted him.

"It's on the house today, so no need to worry."

"A-Are you sure?" Hodgins took out his wallet. "I can pay-"

"I'm sure. Take it as thanks for your service." Mrs. Sabine placed the bag in his hands. How did she know? Hodgins didn't remember telling her.

"How did you know?"

Mrs. Sabine's eyes took a sad turn. "My husband, he has the same reaction that you have when surprised."

Hodgins' eyes widened. He didn't notice that his hands immediately went to a holster that wasn't there anymore. He coughed into his fist.

"I see. Well, thank you very much for the bread." He said. Mrs. Sabine nodded.

"Please come again soon."

With that, Hodgins stepped outside and sighed when he caught sight of his blonde companion.

"You don't have to stand at attention. We aren't in the military anymore."

Blue eyes only stared back at him as the blonde's form relaxed. "If you say so Lieutenant Colonel."

Hodgins rubbed his forehead and held out the bag of bread. "Stop calling me that now here, eat some bread for breakfast. I hear that this is one of the best bakeries in Paris."

The blonde slowly took the bag into her gloved hands. "I am not hungry. The oatmeal I ate this morning provided me with enough nourishment to last through the day."

Hodgins bit the inside of his cheek. "Eat at least one, that is an order."

The blonde saluted him and took out a croissant. She took a small bite, her eyes widening slightly. Hodgins smiled and reached to grab the bag, only for it to be taken out of his reach.

"Really?"

Her blue eyes revealed nothing. Then, the sound of a bell ringing interrupted them.

"Let's go. It's time for your first day of school." They walked across the street, the croissant still in her hand.

Hodgins formed a small smile.

If only Gilbert was here to see her.

Marinette barely made it to class on time, the bell ringing as soon as she sat down. Mlle. Bustier hadn't arrived yet, which meant that Marinette was rushing for no reason. Taking a bite of her pain de chocolat, she listened to Alya rant about the fight with the akuma last night.

"I can't believe I was asleep while Ladybug was out there kicking ass!" Alya sighed with her head in her hands.

"You always have next time. Maybe you could try to get another interview?" Marinette suggested. She loved Alya, but she really needed to relax a bit. Marinette turned her eyes to Adrien, who was happily chatting with Nino.

Alya's response was interrupted by Mlle. Bustier entering the classroom with M. Damocles right behind her.

"Settle down class. M. Damocles has an announcement to make." Mlle. Bustier smiled widely.

"Thank you Caline." M. Damocles coughed slightly. "I'm proud to say that your class will have a new student!" The class immediately started whispering with excitement. Oh no, what if another Lila joined?! Marinette could barely handle one!

"Come on in, my dear, no need to be shy." M. Damocles smiled as he faced the door. A beautiful, blonde girl with blue eyes immediately walked into the classroom. Dressed in a white shirt and a green skirt, her bright eyes felt rather dull as she stared at the class with a blank face.

"Go on, introduce yourself." Mlle. Bustier said.

The blonde girl's stance immediately stiffened, and she formed a salute with a gloved hand before relaxing again. She looked like a doll from Marinette's collection. As if an akuma brought one of them to life and placed this girl in Marinette's class.

"Hello…"

Her expressionless eyes seemed to analyze the class.

"My name is Violet Evergarden."
