Olivia Pope is 25 years old, she graduated from law school, works in a great law firm and Quinn Perkins graduated with her from college and they work together, they are best friends.
Olivia lives with her mother, Maya Pope, who is divorced from her father.
Fitzgerald Grant is 32, an architect, has his own company, his parents live in another city and so he lives alone.
Jake Ballard is Fitz's friend, he and Quinn met on social media, they've been chatting for a few days and decided to go on a date to get to know each other, so Quinn called Olivia to go with her on the date and Jake called Fitz, they're all single.
Quinn feels pretty, but Olivia always stands out for her beauty, intelligence, friendliness and her beautiful clothes, which makes her a little insecure.
Olivia chose a long black dress with a slit up the thigh, applied red lipstick, put on her black Chanel bag, black heels, fixed her bangs and was ready for her date.
"Liv," said Quinn.
"What? My outfit isn't right?"
"Your outfit looks amazing, you look amazing and this way they'll only have eyes for you"
Olivia rolled her eyes and said, "Don't start, Quinn. Let's go... you look beautiful too."
They got into the car and drove to the restaurant they had booked with Fitz and Jake.
When they arrived, Fitz and Jake were already seated waiting for them.
The two of them got out of the car and started walking, and they kept talking about them.. without them noticing.
They both immediately laid eyes on Fitz and were enchanted... Olivia smiled immediately "I'm starting to like this double date you've invented, his friend is so handsome, his arms" said Olivia as she watched Fitz.
"His arms, his hair... I want to swap" said Quinn looking at Fitz.
Olivia heard what she said and shifted her gaze from Fitz, to Quinn who was standing next to her... "What?"
"I was so focused on my conversations with Jake that I didn't notice how handsome his friend is, much more handsome than him... I want him," she said.
You take Jake and I'll take his friend... come on" Olivia tugged on her arm, but Quinn didn't move and started a crisis of insecurity.
"Liv, please... you're always the prettiest, you always get the most handsome men... let me get the most handsome this time? you get his friend" Quinn insisted.
"You've been talking to Jake for days and so you're going to ignore him?"
"I'll still be his friend, but I want his friend"
Olivia rolled her eyes and said yes, because she knows the friend she has and knows that she would stand there for hours begging her.
As the two were walking towards the table, Fitz and Jake immediately looked over, and Fitz's blue eyes were completely locked on Olivia walking.
They both stood up, Jake smiled, looked at Quinn, but she completely ignored him and hugged Fitz first, then him.
Then it was time for Fitz to hug Olivia, he looked into her eyes, she looked into his eyes and they hugged... then she hugged Jake too.
Quinn sat down next to Fitz and left Jake completely confused.
While Quinn was talking to Fitz, Olivia was talking to Jake... but Olivia's eyes were on Fitz and he reciprocated, so she noticed that he was interested in her and not Quinn.
*His blue eyes, his hair, his arms, his voice," thought Olivia as she admired Fitz.
*How beautiful she is, what a beautiful woman, her mouth* thought Fitz as he looked at Olivia.
Jake was getting annoyed with the way Quinn was ignoring him, so he got up from the table without saying anything and walked away.
Fitz noticed that Quinn had exchanged Jake for him and said to her, "I think you'd better talk to him."
"All right, I'll talk to him... I'll be right back to finish our conversation" she said smiling at Fitz and stood up.
Fitz took advantage of that moment alone with Olivia to get to know her.
"What's going on here?" he asked her, laughing.
Olivia looked him in the eye and said, "It's simple, my friend completely forgot Jake existed when she saw you."
"Is it my fault?" he joked.
"My friend thought you were very handsome and attractive" Olivia said as she tried to disguise it by looking anywhere but into his eyes.
While they talked, Quinn and Jake argued.
"What about you?" Fitz asked.
"Me what?" Olivia deflected the question.
"Did you find me handsome and attractive too?" he teased her.
"No, of course not," she lied.
Fitz started laughing and she laughed too, so fascinated was he by her smile.
"You know that words sometimes lie, but eyes never do. Your eyes tell me something," he said looking at her, her heart racing when he said it.
"Quinn's taking a while," said Olivia.
"You look beautiful in that dress," said Fitz.
"Thank you"
Quinn and Jake argued for a few minutes, until he decided to leave... "I'm sorry, I just realized that your friend suits me better" she said and he walked off.
She returned to the table... "Sorry I took so long," she said, smiling at Fitz, but he could only look at Olivia.
"Where's Jake?" asked Olivia.
"He's gone" Quinn rolled his eyes.
"Since he's gone, I'll go too and leave you two alone," said Olivia and Quinn smiled at the thought of being alone with Fitz, but he let it slip that he didn't want Olivia to leave.
"No, Olivia... I mean, you should stay a little longer," said Fitz.
Quinn frowned when he said this and Olivia's heart raced again.
"No," Quinn said quickly.
Olivia and Fitz were silent and she continued talking "I mean, I love my friend... but we need to talk" she said looking at Fitz.
"I really need to go..." Olivia stood up and waved goodbye to Fitz.
She drove home, but thought about Fitz the whole way.
Quinn and Fitz talked and then Fitz dropped Quinn off at home, she hoped he would try to kiss her, but he didn't and she was frustrated.
Olivia got home and immediately went to vent to her mother, to whom she told everything, she told her everything that had happened...
"And how did you act around him?" asked Maya.
"I tried to disguise it as much as possible, to leave Quinn with him... but" she stammered.
"But?"
"I don't know, the way he looked at me, it gave me goosebumps. When Quinn got up from the table, he and I were alone and there was such sexual tension between us, he flirted with me and I liked it, he's so handsome" she confessed.
"If he wants you, then she has no chance"
"No, mom... I'm not going to do that to her, she feels insecure, I don't want to make her sad, she's my friend"
"Liv, if that man looked at you like you told me, nothing she does is going to get you out of his mind" Maya said and Olivia became reflective.
Fitz left Quinn at home and went to Jake's house to talk to him.
Jake opened the door and said "Have you fucked her yet? that bitch" he said angrily.
"I just left her at home," he said.
"I don't care, you can fuck Quinn. Her friend Olivia... she's much prettier and hotter than her, I'll take her to bed" he said.
"I don't want Quinn, I want Olivia," said Fitz.
"Now you want to have them both?"
"No, I want Olivia... I was fascinated by her beauty" Fitz confessed.
"I'm sorry, my friend... but now I want Olivia too"
Fitz started laughing... "You're going to lose this one, I saw the way she looked at me"
*TWO WEEKS LATER*
Quinn has spent the week talking to Fitz by text and phone, he found this way of getting closer to Olivia because she didn't respond to the requests he sent on her social networks.
The problem is that Quinn is getting more and more involved with Fitz.
He agreed to go out to dinner with Quinn, so he arranged to pick her up from work.
Quinn was finishing her make-up in the bathroom, Fitz was waiting for her and Olivia left before Quinn, so she found Fitz.
"Hi" he said smiling.
"Hi" she said smiling.
"Quinn's just finishing getting ready and she's on her way," she said.
"Why did you ignore me on social media?" he asked.
"What?" she pretended not to understand.
"You know, Olivia..."
"Fitz, you're going on dates with my friend, it doesn't make sense for you to react to my photos and send me messages on social media"
"I know you two work together, I've seen photos of you both at work, I'm here to talk to you"
"Stop it" she begged.
"It's you I want, you know... the tension that day in the restaurant, you're on my mind" he confessed.
"I can't, Quinn's involved with you, she's spent two weeks talking about you"
Fitz took two steps forward, standing in front of her face...
"Your mouth, your mouth is so sexy," he whispered.
"Don't do that, please... it's Quinn you're going to be with, and I... I'm going to be with your friend Jake. that's for sure" she said.
"I've told you once and I'll tell you again... eyes don't lie, you don't want Jake and I don't want Quinn," he said.
Quinn came up behind Olivia, smiled and hugged Fitz.
"I was just telling Fitz that we need another double date... Jake's been missed here," she said stammering.
"I think that's great" Quinn pulled Fitz's arm and got into his car and they drove off.
Olivia is trying to be a good friend, supporting Quinn to be happy, but Fitz has definitely made her heart beat faster and she won't be able to disguise it for long.
