Disclaimers: Code Lyoko does not belong to me except for a few characters that will be introduced soon.
For those who don't know: In Evolution Odd's actor did not have his hair up like the animated series. I believe that he may have returned to how his hair was like during the beginning of the show (or they didn't bother doing his hair up but I'm gonna keep with my idea anyway) after they seemingly finished him off at the end of season 4. Then as season 5 came along he kept it that way. So in this story he continues to keep it that way.
So lets begin.
Jeremie's Diary
I knew everything wasn't always going to stay normal, ever since we last shut down the supercomputer back then. We have done so multiple times in the past and yet XANA returned many times.
It was only a matter of time until our ever-returning nemesis would honour us with its presence again...

It has been a few months since the group had been able to live normally again. Ever since their final plight at the centre of the Cortex and since shutting down the supercomputer, they have been able to live easier and concentrate on their studies and personal lives.

Classes were running as usual. Jeremie, Odd, Aelita and Ulrich were in their Maths class. Yumi and William were in History.
It was a typical spring morning. A standard day at Kadic Academy. Nothing out of the ordinary, like it had been for the past few months, but some members of the group knew, it wasn't truly the end.
They all droned through their first classes until morning break. Jeremie, Odd, Aelita and Ulrich headed for the rec room. Yumi and William had a group project they had to complete before their deadline next week. So the four spent their break without them.

The day went on and the final class of the day was upon them. The grade 10 quartet were in the computer room doing a class assignment they started on Monday, for their history class that was due by the end of the week. They were put in groups of three to made a slideshow describing as much as information as they can about their chosen period in European history.
Unfortunately, for everyone, they were not able to choose their partners. So Aelita was forced to group with Jeanne and Nicolas. Jeremie with Sissi and Heidi and Odd had Ulrich and Naomi.
At first Aelita was worried about how her project would go, but her partners turned out okay. Nicolas seemed to follow whatever she asked him to do as, unsurprisingly, he wasn't great on his history, but she was quite surprised on the information he found about the world war period they chose to focus on. He had actually gone to the library like she asked him too and borrowed a few books. Aelita was almost impressed by this effort from him. She felt like the boy had changed a little from the past grade. Aelita spun slightly on the computer chair as those thoughts ran through her mind
"Aelita?" Jeanne tapped the girl's shoulder "Do you think this page looks okay?"
The pink-haired girl looked over at her partner's screen. The blonde girl next to her was on the internet looking for pages pertaining America's part during the second World War. She leaned forward to Jeanne's computer. As she and Nicolas were sharing one computer to make their slideshow, Jeanne was doing some more research on another.
She moved her chair from the boy's side to look at the website "Hmmm, it looks pretty good I'd say" she murmurs, a hand to her chin "Make sure you take down the important points about it from there. It shouldn't be too much, remember that"
The girl nodded and Aelita pushed her chair back to Nicolas' side where the boy waited. Just then, she heard a noise behind her. As did the rest of the class. Odd had suddenly fallen, knees on the floor, clutching his forehead. He was clearly in some sort of pain. Gilles who had been walking around the class rushed over to the boy who was sat up rubbing his head with a groan.
"Della Robbia, what happened? Do you need to rest?" he knelt down "Ulrich, do you know what happened?"
"I don't know sir" the other boy, still sitting, shook his head with a shrug "He got up from his chair when he just... fell"
The blonde boy stood up with a grunt rubbing the back of his head "Oh, don't worry. I... I'm fine. It was just a headache" he answered with a nervous laugh.
Thankfully, the teacher seem to buy it and simply told him to not stress himself too much before letting him off.

Another monotonous day of school was over. After classes the group converged at the entrance to the rec room then went inside. Both William and Yumi had their mountain load of classwork and revision to do, so the rest tried to not disturb them.
Ulrich and Odd were simply watching TV while Aelita and Jeremie were chatting and going over their work nearby. Odd was scrolling through his phone bored when he heard Ulrich mention his name.
"...and you Odd, falling onto the floor in class. That was really weird"
Odd stopped what he was doing and laughed awkwardly "I mean that never... really happened to me. Maybe I was tired because I slept late last night"
Unbeknownst to them, Yumi and William overheard the two and immediately looked at each other.
"Wait... you too?" Yumi asked curiously causing both boys to turn their heads.
"What do mean?" Odd inquired "Did you fall in class too?"
"Oh, not me" she waved her hand "William did"
Aelita and Jeremie's attention were caught at this point, they look at the rest of the group; Aelita inquires further.
William seemed nervous talking about the situation but decided he may as well share "So uhh... during Chemistry, Ms Hertz asked me to come to the front of the class to help with a demonstration and... as I left my table, I just... dropped to the floor feeling my head throbbing and the room turning black for a second"
"Yeah, yeah, same here!" Odd piped up from his seat "That exact thing!"
Everyone was silent in thought; William simply tried to get back to his work.
"I don't know... it is odd" Jeremie mused, an hand to his chin "But... I'm not sure if we can exactly connect it to XANA just yet"
Ulrich, William and Yumi looks of surprise were evident on their faces as he said those words, not expect XANA to be brought up again. Aelita and Odd were the only ones who looked like they considered the idea themselves.
Jeremie pondered for a few seconds before coming up with a suggestion "Okay, for now we can't be sure XANA is actually back. But tomorrow, I'll go and check the factory. I... won't turn it on, but..." he seem to come to a standstill.
"No need to worry about all this Einstein. Nothing has happened today that warrants being a XANA sign. Both of us just probably felt a little ill or tired, right William?"
The other boy nodded without word and got back to work. Not wanting to push the discussion of XANA further.
"I guess..." Jeremie stared into space "But I'm still going to visit the factory after classes, just to scout the place out"
None of them decided to argue or speak up about this, just went back to what they were doing. Aelita looked up at him as her boyfriend sat back down.
"I'm really worried my gut feeling will turn out to be right" he murmured going back to flipping through the notebook he was writing in.
Aelita was about to speak up, tell him there's nothing to worry about and not pressure himself, but inside she felt a sinking feeling as well.
The girl wondered and thought "It's only a matter of time..."

At around five-thirty people began to leave.
"Well, I'm going back to my room" Aelita stood up with a yawn and a stretch.
"Same here" Jeremie, also getting up, put his phone in his pocket "My laptop's in my room and I got to complete work for class. See you tomorrow"
One by one more students started to leave, including Yumi who said she had to get home. Ulrich bored out of his mind decided to leave as well and followed behind before they eventually parted ways.
After another two hours William, Sissi and Laura were the only ones left. Sissi left the room temporary leaving William in the dim lit room, with Laura on the opposite side too absorbed in her own work. Much time later, Sissi came back informing the two they had fifteen minutes until she had to close. Neither got up seemingly determined to finish before they left for the dorms.
Later, Sissi announced to the two again that they only had five minutes until she had to close. Laura gave one long look at William before departing from the room. William on the other hand, wanted to spend as much time as possible in the rec room to finish his work, continued to stay until the end when Sissi told him it was time to leave. He got up without word and left. Sissi relieved, followed him and locked the door behind her.

The next day, during a typical afternoon in gym class Jim was teaching the class several tactics used in many types of sport. He droned on; only half the class were paying the slightest bit of attention. Odd sighed, running a hand through his hair. Jeremie, who was standing next to him, chose to ignore the boy knowing he was going to start talking.
"You know Jeremie" he started "Sometimes... sometimes I wish XANA would come back. Then things around here would be a lot more... exciting"
"Are you crazy?" he said in a low voice so no one could hear them from the back of the group "With what we've been through in the past, I'd rather not hope they'd come back anytime soon. I've had enough of it ruining our lives"
"Yeeeaah, I know that... but... still" he sighed placing his arms behind his neck "It's boooring"
"Belpois! Della-Robbia!" yelled Jim catching their attention " You two seem to be having an interesting conversation. Is this conversation more important than my lesson?!"
"Oh no, sir!" said Odd waving his arms " Carry on, we apologise" he bowed.
Half the class laughed as Odd came up from his bow. Jim's face gave the indication he was clearly not impressed.
"Soo..." he sighed attempting to continue "Where was I... ahhh yes..."
Odd got up from his little bow with his usual grin, but as he looked back towards Jim, he froze.
Jeremie, on the other hand, carried on listening. He never usually liked these classes, but still tried to focus during them. As long as it didn't include physical work he was fine with it. Jeremie then cast his eyes over at Odd to see why he had become silent, when he saw said person staring ahead, a blank expression on his face and his eyes wide.
"Odd?... Are you okay?" he asked, touching his shoulder noticing something was off.
Odd turned his head with a glare that, Jeremie knew, meant something bad. But the young boy didn't have time to say anything as Odd punched him with full force, knocking him past several students. Jim and the rest of the class saw Jeremie sprawled on the ground and Odd, his fist forward.
"Odd! What is wrong with you!?" Jim yelled heading towards him.
Ignoring him, Odd glanced over at the remaining ex-Lyoko warriors as Jeremie scrambled up, clumsily putting his glasses on before heading over to Ulrich and Aelita. As Jim was berating Odd who was still staring their way, a plan formed in Jeremie's head.
Just as Jim was about to tell Odd to go to the principals office Jeremie interrupted.
"Uhhh, Jim. Ulrich feels really ill. Can Aelita and I take him to the infirmary? I don't think he'll be able to perform his best in class like this"
"He-He's right sir" Ulrich lied holding his stomach with fake grimace "I'm not sure I can do anything with this pain"
At first he was hesitant, unsure whether to believe them or not but ultimately let them go. The three of them took this chance to escape. Odd shoved past the many kids in the class to continue following their trail, disregarding the call of his gym teacher.
"Hey, Odd! I didn't allow you to go!"

"What's wrong with him?" Ulrich questioned as the trio were now running once they deduced they were out of Jim's sight "What does he think he's playing at?"
Jeremie, who was behind the two, then told them to head to the forest. Both looked at each other bewildered.
"Just listen to me. It must be XANA" he spoke out. The other two stopped. Ulrich stared in disbelief; Aelita was quiet.
"Huh?! What are you talking about? What do you mean 'XANA'?!" Ulrich snapped at him suddenly, his fists clenched.
Jeremie clutched his chest from the running and walked past the two to the forest. The two knew where he was heading, but Ulrich desperately wished he was joking.
"Just calm down" he assured seemingly out of breath "I'll.. tell you after... We... just have to get to the factory"
Ulrich knew of course, but still wanted to believe this was all a trick... a joke... That thing couldn't really be back now, could it?
"Okay, say... say... this is true- never mind actually... how do I know this isn't a trick?"
Jeremie looked at him like he was crazy "Ulrich... stop trying to deny this. I hate this as much as you do but we can't deny the fact-"
Just then they heard someone running towards them. Ulrich stood in front of the two in a fighting stance while Jeremie stepped back hoping to run while he can.
Thankfully, it turned out to be only Yumi. No Odd nearby.
"I thought you might be here. What's going on Jeremie?" she glared at him with her arms folded "Is this XANA again?"
"What do you think it is?" he muttered, already turning around to head to the sewers that led to the factory.
"No way..." she blinked, unfolding her arms "So, he is back... But how did-"
"There isn't much time. Odd could arrive any second" he cut her off bluntly "By the way, where's William? Did he stay behind?"
His question was soon answered when they heard footsteps. It was Odd with said person joining up with him.
Okay, so him too..." he muttered "We better get down then..."
One by one they all quickly went down into the sewers and had to run through it to reach the factory as they still did not have their transport methods from back then. Mentally, Jeremie made a note to get them back or at least get some new ones. He really didn't like running to the factory.

Soon they all clambered out of the sewers, Jeremie unsurprisingly last, and ran over the bridge towards the factory. Only then did Aelita speak.
"How're we going to bring them back?" she asked out of the blue.
"Well... we'll have to think of something..." Jeremie replied unable to provide her with a concrete answer as they all jumped or slid down the suspended ropes at different speeds.
"We're going to turn on the supercomputer on again, right?" Ulrich said "Why else would we be heading here?"
"Well... yes, obviously. I'm not sure why but... since XANA is not attached to it anymore. We... might as well try" Jeremie hesitantly suggested as they headed towards the elevator.
"Will that really free Odd and William?" Yumi questioned.
"It's probably best we check if the supercomputer is on. If it is... we might need to check for any activated towers" Jeremie explained, but just as he was about to push the button Ulrich stopped.
"Wait! You guys go. I'll do my best to head them off. Or even stall them as long as possible" Ulrich said walking out of the lift.
"I'm going with you!" Yumi hops out of the lift and stood alongside him "Two is better than one right?
He blushed with a nervous chuckle "Yeah... I guess it is"
Jeremie rolled his eyes then pressed the button.
"You guys better not die on us" Aelita folded her arms with a stern glare.
"Don't worry princess, we got this" he gave her a thumbs up smiling as the elevator door shuts before them.
"Ready, Yumi"
"Sure, always ready"
Both faced the entrance of the factory to see the two leap down from the ledge. At this instant Ulrich runs right at Odd to try and knock him out. but ends up going right through him.
"Are they possessed by spectres or something?" Yumi frowned creasing her eyebrows as she faced against William.
"They can't be... unless not being on Lyoko for too long can make you vulnerable to-"
He didn't finish his sentence as Odd threw a punch at him. Yumi watched horrified as he was thrown against a beam, hard.
"Ulri-" She didn't finish her sentence as she barely backed away from a side kick by William.
"What are you trying to achieve by turning on the supercomputer on XANA?!"
He didn't reply; just gave evil grin.
"So no reply huh?" she muttered through gritted teeth.
She back stepped away from him then ran towards Ulrich by knocking out Odd from behind. She helped him up.
"Thanks Yumi..." he groaned as she put his arm over her.
"Don't thank me yet..." she said as William changed direction towards the lift.
"You're not part of the supercomputer, aren't you? So why are you turning it back on!?" Ulrich yelled.
Odd didn't say anything as a surge of electricity charged from his hands.
"Darn it..." she growled.

The other two, having reached the bottom-most floor, approach the large and empty space. The console where the switch was located was beneath the cold metal floor, but began to rise before the two as the lights turned on with their presence. The approached the supercomputer console.
"We should turn it on quickly. I don't know how long they will be able to stall for us"
Jeremie's hand trembled slightly as he reached for the handle. He was ready for XANA's return the past few months. Yet when it finally came down to it, he couldn't muster up the courage to place his hand on the switch.
"I... the thing is... I'm not sure what's going to happen once we do" he looks down solemn "We have to fight him all over again..."
"Jeremie..." she clasped his other hand "Nothing will change between us... any of us. I promise. Despite what we will go through. We'll all be together through it all"
Before Jeremie could say anything else the doors of the lift opened revealing William and Odd.
"Jeremie, hurry!"
"I umm..." With nothing to say he quickly reaches for the handle and turns it on. In that instant both Odd and William collapse to the floor.
"We did it, Jeremie!" she grabbed both his hands in joy.
"Yeah, we did. We should check on them though..."
She agreed "Of course"
Both went over to their knocked out friends who were now regaining consciousness.
"W-What's going on?" Odd groaned rubbing his head.
"Don't worry, we'll explain later. I'm just glad you're okay..." Aelita smiled as she helped him up.
"Hey William, you okay?"
"I... I think I am?" he groaned gripping the side of his head "What happened?"
"I'll tell you later" he smiled holding his hand out for him as Aelita slung Odd's arm round her to help him up "But now... we've got to turn this off"
He looked over to Aelita who nodded, then went up to the console. William walked up next to him.
"Are you sure... about this?" What Jeremie didn't know was the older boy felt a pang of dread he couldn't explain.
"Yes. I'm not sure why, but... if XANA is desperate to get the supercomputer running, it may have attached itself to it. So... I want to check"
He gripped the handle and pulled it down. Suddenly, just then, Odd and William lose consciousness again. Aelita knelt down holding Odd's unconscious body. She looked over at Jeremie, face showing clear confusion. He was holding William who had fallen onto him.
"Jeremie... What's going on?"
"I-I'm not sure..." he tried to come up with an explanation while still holding his friend "But... I think XANA might be connected to them somehow"
"Like... me?"
"I... I don't know" Jeremie replied as she carefully placed Odd back on the floor "I'm not sure what XANA's thinking, but for their sake, we have to turn it on again"
A sigh escaped his lips as he carefully placed William on the floor "Lets just hope this wakes them up again..." he says pulling the switch with hope his friends would wake up once more.
A minute goes by almost agonisingly. Aelita waited by the lift while Jeremie sat down next to William gripping his hand "They've got to... They have to wake up"
Just then, William groans opening his eyes "Are we... still here...?"
"Yes! They're awake!"
Odd, still on the floor, also opened his eyes peering over at Aelita standing nearby "Been watching me... Princess?" he smiled tiredly.
"Oh, shut up, of course I've been keeping an eye on you two" she scoffed but was glad he was awake nevertheless.
Jeremie's gaze shifted over the lever again. William who was sitting on the floor next to him watched him with concern.
"Jeremie..."
"It seems like... it might be true" he looked over at Aelita almost looking tired after everything that happened today.
She closes her eyes with a sigh "Yeah it is"
"XANA is back now" he exhaled solemnly, his eyes closed as the door to the lift opened.
Yumi and Ulrich walked out and saw the four, wondering what went down but didn't ask.
"And the Lyoko Warriors are back in action too, huh?" William added.
A silence hung over the group as they all realise the responsibility that would be fall them once more.

I had always wanted to make a Code Lyoko story but never made one since I never had an idea for what the story and plot would encompass; one night I had a weird dream concerning Code Lyoko which will be the ending for this story (so I just made a whole story from there) so stay tuned.
Also this is a story that takes place after the events of Evolution.
(I wanted to post this on 1st March but a few things held me up . So I had to push it back until 3rd March for all three websites I put this story on)
I will slowly be updating the rewritten version of each chapter each week or so. until I reach the most recent old version (chapter 8). From thereon are chapters I have recently written.
