A/N: Hey y'all. Here is the start to the Rear-view Town the sequel Moving Forward. I don't know how long it will be; I'm still writing it, but I have enough chapters to start posting. I write when I have time or when I feel up to it. Please remember that this is all fiction/not real. I'm not a realtor and LaPush is actually bigger than it really is. The same for Chaumont, NY (it's tiny). If nothing sounds logical, then it probably isn't. Imagination is a fun thing to use. If you're reading this, thank you for sticking with me if you have read my stuff before and welcome if you just started. I aim to post once a week, but if you've followed me for a bit, I tend to post more than one if I have them available.
No copyright infringement is intended. SM owns all, if not, most of the characters. The plot and mistakes are my own. I will fix them eventually.
ENJOY!

Rear-view Town: Moving Forward
Chapter One
Paul stood with his dad and brother as the second part to Jake's modular home was parked in its place. Paul had paid extra to get the home set up as quick as possible. The Black quads are going on four months old, and Ness was getting used to being with all four of them by herself. They were currently living with Jane, but only until their house is completely done. "Your place looks bigger than mine."
When the Black quads were born, it was a whirlwind of chaos. Everyone was running round like they were chickens with their heads cut off when Ness felt the gush of water between her legs. The babies were definitely born a lot quicker than expected. They were kept in the NICU for a week just to make sure they were developed enough. Thankfully with their heritage, they were ready to be released after a few days. Jake was turning out to be a pretty good dad and imprint for Ness. The triplets love their new baby cousins, and completely opposite from Paul, Jake now has three sons and one daughter.
The first of the four babies is Leilani Jane. Ness and Jake are pretty sure she'll hold it over her brother's heads when they get older that she was born first by two minutes. Alexander Paul and William James were only two minutes apart as well followed by the last of the three boys, was Joseph Charles who was four minutes later. He was snug up under his mother's ribs, causing the doctor to put her entire arm up inside Ness to pull him out.
In the beginning, Jane was upset that Ness wasn't more careful when having sex for the first time. Jake was at fault, as well, and she definitely let them know how the situation made her feel. Jake and Ness were still living separately until a few weeks before the babies were born. Jane could see that Ness needed the help getting to and from the bathroom and with her showers. The deed was already done, so Jane gave in and agreed to let Jake move in. She knew that Paul was helping them get a house and she wasn't sure when that was going to happen until Jake announced it was happening very soon.
"Only because it's single level. With your garage, your house is definitely bigger." Jake pointed out towards an area. "I want a garage over there."
"You don't want much, do you?" Paul didn't care if Jake wanted his entire front lawn done in diamonds, he would do it. Having his entire family living in the same community was all that mattered to him. He hoped his kids would stay around once they were old enough to move out on their own. His sisters keep saying they'll never move away if they could help it.
Paul turned to his dad. "Do you know if there's any more property for sale around here?" An idea had popped into his head. Then he thought about Emily. "Never mind, I'll call Em. I'm pretty sure she could find me what I'm looking for."
"Are you planning on building a new house?" Billy asked his son full of curiosity. The house Paul lived in right now was the perfect size, so if he builds a bigger home, then him and Bella may be planning to have more kids.
Paul smiled. "Affordable housing. Not everyone can afford livable homes like we can. Especially here on the res, so I wanna build a complex." Just thinking about how many units he wanted built, put a new pep in his step. "I need to talk to my wife about this." He turned to head for his house. "I'll see you guys later."
Billy looked over to Jake. "Your brother and his ideas." He shook his head. "This might be better than the community center."
After the triplets turned a year old, Paul wanted to put some of his money, that his mother left to him, to good use. All of his other money has been sitting in a savings account building interest. Minus buying his home he had a community center built for kids to go to after school. He made sure there were plenty of extracurricular activities available for everyone. Bella loved taking the babies over in the mornings so they could run around and get their energy all out so she could have a peaceful few hours by herself while they napped.
The relationship between her and Paul has been stronger than ever. Bella honestly thought she could never love anyone else as much as she loves Paul until their babies were born. Their bond was unbreakable as far as she was concerned.
"Angel?" Paul yelled out for his wife when he noticed her car was in the garage before he entered their home. Little did he know, she was just in the other room.
Bella laughed. "Yes?!"
"Oh," Paul said with a huge smile as he approached her then leaned over to kiss her. "You busy?"
All three babies came running into the living room from their playroom. "Dada. Dada!" They ran to him with their arms held high to be picked up.
Bella had the girl's hair in pigtails and Creed's hair had a mind of its own and stuck up all over the place. She was constantly saying that it reminded her of Jake's hair after he first cut it from being long. He hated getting his hair cut and would let it get long enough to stick up all over the place. We were all pretty sure he craved the jokes and humility the longer it got.
"Awe...look at you three." Paul sat on the floor so they could get to him. "Momma always dresses you so cute. Have you been to the center, yet?"
"Not yet," Bella said as she scooted from her seat to get on the floor with her kids and husband. "I try to go first thing in the morning, but we're all dragging butts today. We're going to eat lunch there then come home to nap."
"Well, I have an idea, and I want your opinion about it." He blew a raspberry on Malia's belly.
Bella smiled. "I like your ideas." She laid back on the floor so Ember could climb over her. "Your last one was a huge hit."
"I think I wanna do something for my parents, too. I mean, since my dad doesn't need his wheelchair anymore, I think maybe a remodel on their home would be perfect. Heck, even build them a new one." He tickled Creed when he crawled onto his lap. He loved playing with his kids.
Bella looked up to her husband. "You need to talk to Cora about that."
"I will." Paul laid down next to his wife. "I just have all these ideas that keep popping up in my head." He chuckled. "It's like I have ADHD, or something."
"You're just happy that you can help any way you can." Bella reached over and ran her fingers through Paul's hair. "Your mom has a lot to do with that. I'm sure she would be proud of you. Especially how much you've grown up and help people."
"I know she is." Paul closed his eyes and imagined his mom being proud of the things he's been doing the last year and a half. Getting married, having babies and helping people who need it. "I wanna build a low-income housing complex."
Bella sat up and looked down to her husband. "Is that what you wanted to talk to me about?"
"I got the idea when we were standing there watching them set the second part to Jake's house. I mean, you've driven through the very low-income parts of the reservation, and I want to help these people have homes that they don't need to worry about. Especially the ones where the roofs are leaking or not having any plumbing at all." Paul sat up and took a deep breath. "I guess what I'm really trying to say is, I feel like I need to give to the community."
"You've done enough, already, so don't go overboard too much. Do what you can, but don't leave us broke in the process. They were more than welcome when you had the community center built for everyone." All three of the babies were starting to whine, so Bella stood from the floor and headed towards the kitchen. "You wanna go to the community center with us?"
"Nah. I'm gonna head over to the shop and see if I can help. With Dad and Jake taking care of his stuff, Sam's running the place by himself." Paul slipped his shoes back on before he eased up behind his wife and placed his hands on her hips and opened his mind to her. "I'd like to have a date in our room tonight if we can get away with it." He kissed her neck. "It's been a while."
Bella pushed her ass back into him. "Tell me about it," she said out loud. "Last night I was about to explode then Creed started screaming."
"Was this before or after I got home from..."
"Before." Bella cut him off before he could finish his sentence. "I don't know what it was, but I couldn't stop thinking about our first time and when we found out that I was pregnant."
Paul hummed as he leaned over and kissed her neck. "Every time with you has been exceptionally perfect." His phone rang just as he lifted his mouth from his wife's skin. He didn't recognize the number. "Paul Lahote speaking."
"Hi, Mr. Lahote, this is Lisa from Miller and Miller Real estate, we assisted you in the sale of your home here in New York."
"Hi, Lisa. How can I help you?" It had been over a year since the house was sold, so he wondered what else there was that he failed to do.
"Well, there's a couple of things that just came to our attention where the paperwork is concerned. That was a mistake on our part. The new owners had applied for permits to build onto the house and they found an issue at the city county building."
"Okay. Is there any way you can fax or email that to me and I'll sign what you need?"
"Well, there's something else that the new owners found that I think you should see with your own eyes." The lady sighed. "I'm sorry, Mr. Lahote."
"No, don't be sorry." He looked up at Bella. "I'm sure my wife wouldn't mind taking a trip with me." He smiled. "I'll start checking on plane tickets tonight and give you a call once I have a definite time for our arrival."
Bella looked at Paul with raised brows just as he ended his call. "Plane tickets for what?"
"A trip to New York." He gave her a cheesy smile. "It'll be just for a couple of days. We can see if Mom and the twins can hang out here and watch the babies while we're gone." He stepped over to her and placed his hands on her hips. "This will give you a chance to see where I grew up. I have to meet with the new owners. Apparently, they found something else that I completely missed."
Bella smiled. "I'd like that." She raised up on her tippy toes and pressed her lips to his then patted his cheek. "I'll check on tickets as soon as we get home from the center. The babies will be down for their naps, so I'll have plenty of time then."
Paul kissed his wife. "Have I told you lately how much I love you?" He kissed her, again then began to drag his lips along her jaw and down to her neck.
"It's been a few minutes, but I love hearing it every time." She lightly moaned as he sucked some of her skin into his mouth. "You're starting something that we can't finish, right now."
Paul groaned as he raised his head. "Fine," he relented then laughed when the babies toddled into the kitchen and started screaming at him because he was loving on their mother. They weren't big supporters of their parents showing any kind of affection towards each other. "That's my cue to leave."
Bella giggled. "You'll be okay."
He growled. "I know." He kissed her cheek. "I'll see you later."
"Hey." Bella grabbed his hand before he could walk out. "Is there a hotel in that town and how many nights?"
Paul thought for a minute. "There's a bed and breakfast just inside the city limits and two nights."
As Paul jumped into his truck, he pushed his displeasure to the back of his mind. He was so horny that he could explode at the drop of a dime. When he arrived at the shop and walked through one of the bay doors, Sam had his head under the hood of a newer model SUV. Paul preferred to work on the older model vehicles because they were easier to diagnose a problem. He likes the newer cars but working on them were definitely a knuckle buster.
Sam's head popped up when he heard someone enter. "Oh, thank God you're here. Booboo ran to get us some lunch, and that Malibu needs an oil change and tires rotated." Booboo was another coworker and pack member. His real name was Seth, but he gained the nickname when he was younger and whined every time, he got hurt doing something he shouldn't have been doing.
"No problem." Paul opened the driver door of the Malibu and reached in to pop the hood so he could get started. "Hey, I'll be out of town for a couple of days. I have to fly back to New York and take care of some shit that was missed when I sold my mom's house."
"Jared should be back from Skykomish tomorrow; no biggie." He began cranking his wrench then remembered something he needed to tell him. "Oh, your dad is looking for you. He said he's been trying to call."
Paul made a weird face because his phone has been in his pocket the entire time. "Was he just calling here because I've had my phone ever since I left him?"
Sam chuckled. "Who knows. Your Pops may be almost back to normal, but I think he's losing his mind."
As soon as Booboo returned, him and Sam ate their lunch then remained busy for the rest of the day. Being the only mechanic shop on the reservation, they constantly had work to do. Only a hand full of the pack members worked there thanks to Billy and Jake who owned and managed the shop.
There was one grocery store and a few other gas stations available to the residents. If they needed anything bigger, they usually had to travel to Port Angeles or elsewhere. Thankfully, they were able to keep products at a reasonable cost which brought outsiders onto the reservation to shop. It was business and money in their pockets, so it wasn't a big deal to any of the owners. Thankfully, there were other places they could order stuff from on the internet and just have it delivered.
When Bella arrived at the community center, there was loads of laughter with kids running around in a game of Duck, Duck, Goose. She was proud of her husband for following through with his useful ideas. There were a lot of smiling faces everywhere she looked.
"Bella!" She turned to see one of the older kids running in her direction. Seven is one of the daughters of Marissa, the director of the center. "Yay! I was hoping you were coming today."
Creed started yelling to get out of the stroller, so Seven started helping Bella unbuckle them. "I think they're excited to see you." Bella giggled as Seven squatted down to their level and let them attack her. "Is your mom busy?"
Seven was laughing so hard that she could barely speak. "She's in the office."
Bella knew the triplets would be okay with Seven, so she made her way to the office. Thankfully there was a large window big enough for her to watch the babies as she talked with Marissa. "Hey lady." Bella plopped down in the chair in front of her desk. "Anything new?"
"Nope," Marissa replied. "Other than looking for more kitchen help, that's it."
"Are you struggling, or you just want the extra hands?" Bella reached down to tie her shoe. "I can see if my mother in-law can come help at lunch time."
Marissa appeared surprised. "Seriously?" Bella nodded. "If she'll help then yes, please ask her. The extra hands will free me up in one of the head-start rooms."
"When does school start back? Since I've graduated, I haven't been paying much attention to anything like that." Bella reached over and took a Dum Dum sucker from the bowl on Marissa's desk.
"Two weeks. I'm really going to miss the help from the older kids." This was going to be their first year at leading a head-start program. It was their first year at doing anything within the center. It was still brand new, but the hustle and bustle was nothing new to them. They were busy every single day.
"I'll help where I can. My husband is about to become a very busy man. He has another idea up his sleeve." Bella smiled when Marissa looked up from typing away at the computer.
"Should I ask?" She raised her brows in question.
"Low-income housing complex. He got the idea while he watched them set up Jake's house this morning." She popped the sucker into her mouth. "I think it's a great idea, but he's gonna bankrupt us." Bella shook her head. "Thankfully we only have minor expenses every month."
"Do you really think he's gonna spend more than he should? I mean, I really don't think he would put your financial situation into jeopardy just to help other people." Marissa shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know, I mean, I don't know him like you do, but if you're worried, you need to talk to him before it's too late."
Bella shook her head again. "I don't think it'll get that far. His mom left him enough to last us a lifetime, but the price of stuff these days," she sighed. "It'll go quick."
"You're thinking too much into this." Marissa was definitely old enough to be Bella's mother, and that's why Bella appreciated her opinion on certain stuff. Bella's not an open book, but some stuff, she needs an opinion now and then.
"Too bad you're married. I'd love to set you up with my dad." Bella chuckled. "I still have to go check on him once or twice a week or he'll burn his own house down."
Marissa chuckled. "He probably eats fast food more than anything."
"He's never really been much of a fast-food junkie. He's had leftovers in the fridge, but none have been from me." Bella popped the sucker back into her mouth. She thought for a second before she wondered about her dad already dating someone. "Maybe he has someone that I don't know about."
"Does he need your approval?" Marissa was giving her the mom look.
"Well, no..." Bella shut up because she knew she couldn't win the conversation. "I just thought that if he started dating someone, he would say something. I mean, he hasn't dated since my mom passed away."
Marissa's brows rose to her hairline. "Are you sure? He could've wined and dined before giving them the ole one, two." She made a motion with her hands of the universal sign of having sex. "Ya know, before he moved on to the next."
Bella chuckled. "My dad is not like that; definitely not a gigolo."
"I didn't say anything about him being a gigolo, but I wouldn't put it passed him being a playa." Marissa sing-songed. "He probably has a hottie at his house right now."
Bella put both of her hands up with her sucker pinched between her thumb and pointer finger. "Okay, you can stop right there." She made a gagging noise. "I can do without the images."
"Just agree to disagree that your dad is probably having sex more than you know." Marissa laughed when Bella made a gagging noise. "Oh, stop. How do you think he felt when you announced you were pregnant to everyone? That's a sure sign of having sex if you ask me."
"It's just weird. The only mother figure I've had growing up was Cora. I don't know how I should feel if he really is dating someone." Bella sank down into her seat and dug into the back of her mind for feelings she thought she should have for a situation like that.
Marissa had an idea of who Charlie may be dating, but she didn't want to let the cat out of the bag. She had only seen Charlie with Sue Clearwater a few times, but she never over thought it. Sue is the sister of a good friend of Charlie and Billy, and quite a bit younger than Charlie by 8 years. Marissa feels that they're a perfect match for each other. "You'll make a mountain out of a mole hill if you think too much about it."
"I know," Bella agreed halfheartedly. "He's always just been there, ya know. This is the first time I've ever thought about him being with someone else or ever."
"You're grown up now; you have babies of your own and you're happy with the path that life has chosen for you. Since you moved out and got married, your dad probably came to the fork in the road. He has always done the same thing day in and day out and it's time for him to think more about himself."
Bella knew that every word Marissa was saying was right and she needed to come to terms with not always needing her dad. "I'll always need him no matter how much I've grown up."
"I'm not saying you won't need him. You just need to start thinking that he has a life away from you now that you're out on your own. You have a husband who will go out of his way to protect you and your babies." Marissa turned to look at her fully. "Encourage him to date if you haven't already."
Bella's brows rose. "Encourage him?" She huffed. "I don't know about that."
"Bella," Marissa said in a warning tone. "Your dad needs a life away from you and his job and you need to let him live it."
Bella wanted to roll her eyes, but she knew that was childish and forced herself to keep from doing it. "Tell me again how we got on the subject of my dad."
Marissa chuckled. "That took over your brain way too much." She shook her head. "You brought him up when you said he had leftovers in his fridge that you didn't leave for him."
"Oh, yeah." Bella made a face. "I don't know why I worry about him so much."
"Listen." Marissa started just as she made a sad face. "If you can keep your mouth shut, I'll tell you something. This has to stay between you and me." She rolled her eyes. "Nix that. I know you'll gladly tell Paul, but don't you dare tell anyone else what I'm about to tell you. I will deny every word if I'm asked about it."
Bella's eyes grew wide. "You know something don't you?!"
"Bella," Marissa warned, again. "I will find a way to put itching powder in your underwear if you so much as open your mouth to anyone but your husband." Bella pretended to zip up a zipper across her lips. "I've seen him with Sue Clearwater at the diner a couple of times and another at Walmart. Your dad had his arm wrapped around her while she was pushing a cart."
A smile crept across Bella's face because she actually likes Sue and if there was anyone to choose for her dad, it would definitely be Sue Clearwater. As she smiled, she clapped her hands. "Oh my God, I could have a brother and sister soon."
"I wouldn't go that far. Just let things be and see where it goes. They look really good together, though. I'm sure your dad will tell you soon."
Bella couldn't release the smile from her face. "This makes me so happy. They're definitely perfect for each other."
Thank you!
