So, I recently started watching Star vs the Forces of Evil, and so far, I'm interested. And naturally, with every piece of media I check out, I get struck with inspiration. And so, I present, The Last Knight, featuring my recently created OC, Richard Belmont! Yeah, a reference to Castlevania, I know lol.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy! As always, reviews are greatly appreciated!

The Last Knight

Chapter One: Earthbound Star

Years ago…

It was a dark night in Los Angeles, most of the citizens had already retired for the night, with the exception of some night shift workers having to work late. For the most part, nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

However, there was one individual, wearing a black cloak, wandering the streets, and carrying something in a blue blanket. Eventually, they stopped at a house, approaching the door, and stopping for a moment. Looking down at the blanket, the person had a look of guilt written on their face. Finally, they placed what they were carrying at the foot of the door before banging on the door with their fist before taking off, disappearing into the night.

Just then, the door opened, Rafael Diaz stepping out, looking around in confusion, but saw nobody. Looking down, he gasped at the sight; a newborn baby wrapped up in a blue blanket. Picking the newborn up, he saw a note tucked within the blanket. Pulling it out, he gave it a read.

To whom this may concern,

I'm sorry for this being so sudden, but I beg of you to please raise my son, Richard Belmont. Due to the circumstances of my life and my husband's death, I am unfit to raise him. I beg you, give my beloved son the life I could not give him myself.

Sincerely, the mother.

Looking at the note, Rafael turned and looked at the baby, having light skin, his eyes slowly opening to show bright blue eyes, before he started crying. Feeling sympathy for the boy, Rafael took him inside.

"Hunny!" He called to his wife. "I think we have a new son!"

Years later…

It was the early morning in Los Angeles, the morning sun raising over the city, most of the people getting up for either work or school. In the case of young Richard Belmont, it was school, the young Caucasian boy sitting up and stretching his limbs, letting out a yawn before getting out of bed. Going into the bathroom, he proceeded to brush his teeth before combing his short, ear-length platinum blonde hair before washing his face. He then proceeded to remove his pajamas before putting on his clothes for the day, consisting of a pair of blue jeans, white sneakers, a white shirt depicting a knight templar and the cross, and a blue hoodie. Heading downstairs, he grabbed his backpack and readied his stuff for school.

"Good morning, Richie!" He heard his mother call from the kitchen.

"Morning, Mom!" Richard replied cheerfully.

"I've already prepared breakfast for you and your brother." She said, Richard sticking his head around the corner to see a plate of bacon, scrambled eggs and toast on the table. "Try to save some for Marco!"

"Thanks, Mom!" The boy said happily, grabbing a few pieces of bacon and a slab of toast before putting some scrambled eggs on it.

Eventually, Marco Diaz came down the stairs. He was a Latino-American teenager of medium height with a slender build, tan skin, dark brown hair, brown eyes, and a mole on his right cheek. He wore a light gray shirt, a red hoodie, dark gray skinny jeans, and olive and white sneakers.

"Morning, Mom!" Marco said with a smile. "Buenos dias, hermano!"

"Buenos dias, Marco!" Richard said back, the brothers sharing a high five as the Latino-American boy sat beside him at the table and preparing his breakfast.

"You're Spanish is getting better, bro." Marco commented.

"A new week, a new day at school." Angie Diaz said. "Try to stay of trouble, you two."

"We will, Mom!" The boys said together.

After finishing their breakfast, the two grabbing their bags and stepping outside, Marco grabbing his skateboard while Richard got on his bicycle, the brothers taking off down the sidewalk. Shortly enough, their school Echo Creek Academy came into view.

"Last one past the gate pays for lunch!" Marco yelled.

"Oh, it's on!" Richard replied.

The two raced, getting closer to the school before Richard passed the gate first, with Marco passing second.

"And the crowd goes wild!" Richard cheered, bringing his bike to a stop.

"Well, lunch is on me." Marco accepted defeat before the brothers walked into the school building.

The day went by like normal, the brothers attending classes like usual, their last class being math. Marco wrote down one math problem after another, while Richard struggled with the more complicated ones, before stopping to work on his drawings.

Suddenly, the P.A. system turned on and Principle Skeeves' voice was heard.

"Marco Diaz, to the principal's office. Marco Diaz, to the principal's office."

Most kids would normally be terrified when they were called to the principal's office. Marco, on the other hand, smiled at this, something Richard took notice of.

"And what about this is making you smile, brother?" He asked.

"Oh, nothing, just looks like someone's in trouble." Marco replied before getting up from his desk and stood before the class. "So, I guess everyone who voted me 'Safest Kid' must be feeling pretty embarrassed right about now."

Richard rolled his eyes at his brother's attitude, always hating being labeled the 'safe kid' and craving excitement.

"Whatever you say, bro."

Marco slid up to the teacher's desk, the teacher Miss Skullnick was seen painting her toenails.

"Do I need a hall pass?" He asked in a whisper.

"Would you just go already?!" The teacher sneered, making the Latino boy whimper before slowly shuffling out of the room.

Richard shook his head before returning to his work, or rather what he was drawing, a knight holding a shield and sword.

Eventually, the bell ran, signaling the dismissal as the students one by one left the school. Richard got his stuff together and left the classroom, walking down the halls, slowing his pace when he took notice of his fellow classmate, Jackie Lynn Thomas, sorting through her schoolbooks.

Smiling at the sight of her, Richard was tempted to strike up a conversation, but decided against it, not feeling confident enough to even approach her. Mentally cursing his own cowardness, he soon exited the school before seeing a whole new face on the school grounds.

It was a young girl, close to his age, standing at the height of 5' 2. She had fair skin, light blue eyes and long blonde hair that went down to her knees, her bangs overlapping her eyes and eyebrows. She wore a red or magenta hairband with devil horns, her outfit consisting of a sea green short-sleeved dress with a white collar, white lace on the sleeves and skirt and a cute pink octopus on the front. She also wore pink and orange stockings, dark magenta boots with a rhino design, and a little yellow star-shaped side bag with a face.

Something that stood out for Richard was rose pink hearts on the girls' cheeks, which he assumed may be birthmarks. Besides the marks on her cheeks, the biggest standout thing was the wans she was holding, being light purple with white wings attached to the grip. The bell of the wand had a blue circle with a gold star and pink hearts surrounding the crystal star inside. There was a yellow crown on the tip of the wand, a blue butterfly between the bell and grip, and a yellow tip with a blue heart at the end of the grip.

'Must be a new student, I suppose.' The boy thought to himself. 'Guess I'll introduce myself.'

He walked up to the girl. "Hello there." He said. "You must be new here."

The girl turned to face him, then suddenly let out a gasp, making him gasp in return as the two stared at each other. The two blinked several times before getting in each others faces as though hey were examining each other. They circled each other, movements and words, before they stood and said at the same time, "You've been real this whole time? I thought you were my imaginary friend!"

Richard remembered having developed an imaginary friend, ever since he was young, for as long as he could remember. The same could be said of Star, and yet the two never thought the other actually existed until now.

"Well, nice to meet you!" She declared, shaking the boy's hand aggressively. "I'm Star Butterfly! I'm new around here! What's your name?"

Blinking several times and shaking off the surprise, Richard said, "Names Richard Belmont. I assume you're a transfer student or something?"

"Foreign exchange, actually." Star told him. "The safe kid was supposed to show me around!"

'Safe kid? She must've met Marco already.' Richard thought to himself before saying, "Well, I assure, he's the safest kid around, despite his protests."

Star laughed for a moment. "Oh, I bet there's so much you can show me!" She stated. "The principle even assigned me to stay with Marco Diaz so he can show me around!"

"I could certainly try." Richard said, unhooking the lock on his bike. "And if I remember correctly, that means you'll need a place to stay as part of the program." He got on his back and strapped on his helmet. "So, shall we be off?"

"Ooh, this is gonna be so exciting!" Star exclaimed, hopping on the back. "Let's roll, new friend!"

Richard couldn't help but feel somewhat familiar with this girl, as though something was telling him that she was someone he should know.

Putting aside his caution for the time being, Richard rode his bike home, with Star in tow, unaware of a certain queen watching from a safe distance. The woman had long pale blue hair, light blue eyes, and heliotrope, pink-colored diamonds on her cheeks. She also used magenta pink lipstick. She stood at a height of 5' 7, and wore a dark blue cloak to conceal herself.

Moon Butterfly watched from a safe distance, watching the two teens, specifically at Star, hoping she'd behave.

Then her attention turned to Richard, the queen feeling something familiar about him.

Putting her suspicions to the side, she quickly left, returning through a portal via her dimensional scissors, unaware of a certain Buff Frog watching the kids from the shadows.

Marco walked down the sidewalk by his lonesome, hood up and with plenty on his mind. As if it wasn't bad enough that he was labeled the 'safe kid' by his school mates, now he has to look after a foreign exchange student from another world. Talk about a real pain.

Sighing, he finally reached his home and walked inside, so imagine his surprise when he saw his brother and parents laughing along with Star Butterfly.

"Oh, Marco!" His mother said. "Come meet the new foreign exchange student who's gonna be living with us!"

"Wha...? W-wha...?" Marco stammered in surprise.

"What?! I had no idea these were your parents!" Star exclaimed before getting up and pulling Marco over. "I just assumed everyone on Earth had the last name 'Diaz'!"

"My last name isn't Diaz." Richard joked.

"You brought her to our house?!" Marco glared at his brother.

"I figured it was part of the foreign exchange program." Richard shrugged. "Plus, I thought it'd be nice to have Star's upbeat, lively energy around the house."

"We could've gotten that from a litter of puppies." Marco said in annoyance.

Star let out a gasp, stars in her eyes. "I... love... puppies!"

Pulling out her wand, Star casted a beam of magic, and in a flash of light, a litter of 8 cute puppies appeared on the carpet, all letting out yips of joy.

Mr. and Mrs. Diaz awed at the sight, before the puppies suddenly started firing lasers from their eyes, much to everyone's surprise, knocking over a lamp and shooting a hole through Marco's face in a Diaz family photo. All the while, Marco looked at Star angrily, the girl in question chuckling nervously as she picked up one of the puppies.

"Well, they are really cute." Mr. Diaz said, laughing as he picked up on of the puppies before it shot him in is right eyes. "Ay! My eye!" He then laughed again.

"Marco, Richard, why don't you show Star her new room?" Mrs. Diaz said to the boys.

"Yay!" Star cheered, clearly excited, running up the stairs.

The only one who seemed to have an issue with this was Marco, the Hispanic boy helping Richard carry Star's luggage upstairs. Regardless, he complied. Surely it couldn't be that bad, right.

Outside, hidden from view and spying from a tree, Buff Frog was observing from outside the window, letting out a quiet evil laugh at the sight of his target.

His master would be pleased.

However, there was something about the second boy, the one with blonde hair, that struck curiosity in him. He could've sworn he saw markings on his cheeks.

Shrugging, he then pulled out a pair of gray scissors with a spiky dark gray handle before cutting at the air, opening a magical portal, then jumped in, the portal closing behind him.

Back in the house, the three teens had entered the room that Star was going to be staying in, the princes looked about, as though she was inspecting it, while Richard and Marco carried her luggage.

"Here's your new room...!" Marco strained, both he and Richard losing their grip on the suitcase, dropping on Marco's foot. "Ow!"

"Sorry!" Richard yelped.

"Okay... I can work with this." Star said before holding out her wand. "Sparkle Glitter Bomb Expand!"

With the declared spell, the wand shined before firing a magical beam, turning the room into a large castle loft.

"Whoa..." Marco said in amazement.

"Amazing…" Richard said, sharing Marco's surprise and wonder.

Star jumped up on her bed and started bouncing on it, "Ahhh! That's better!"

"Your magic must be capable of great feats." Richard complimented.

"Man, I wish I had a room like this." Marco said with a small smile.

Star gasped before she jumped off the bed. "You do?!"

Marco looked at her in confusion as she ran out of the room, the two boys following her to Marco's room.

"Mystic Room Suck Transform!"

With the spell declared, she aimed at the center of the room and fired a beam, expecting it to arrange Marco's room the same as hers. Instead, a black hole was created in the center of the floor. The teens let out a collective scream before Richard pushed everyone out, closing the door to prevent anyone from getting sucked in.

"You know what, I'm fine with the way my room is, thank you." Richard quickly said.

"'Suck'?! 'Suck'?! Why was the word 'suck' in that spell?!" Marco yelled, furious.

"I don't know! It just came out that way!" Star replied in a panicked tone.

Marco groaned in response, slamming his face against the door.

"No offense, Star, but you need to work on your spell casting." Richard told the princess.

"I'm sorry, guys." Star said, genuinely guilty for what happened. "Uh... how about a little sunshine to brighten your day?"

Pointing her wand, she created a small sun over Marco's head. However, it immediately turned into a raincloud, drenching him in water, no doubt due to his mood.

"Aw..." Star pouted.

Richard pulled out an umbrella and handed it to Marco, who snatched it from him in anger.

"I can't take this anymore!" He snapped, marching over to the window. "If you're moving in, I am moving out!"

"Marco, I wouldn't recommend-"

Richard's warning fell on deaf ears, however, as Marco had one foot already out the window before he slipped and fell outside, thankfully landing on a mattress outside, rather than the cactus bin out front.

"Are you okay?" Star asked with concern.

"Luckily, the mattress broke my fall." Marco replied. "Thanks for your precognition, bro!"

"No problem!" Richard called.

"Do you need any help?" Star asked.

"I'm fine!" Marco snapped. "Just leave me alone!"

Star and Richard watched him walk off angrily, the blonde girl wanting to go after him, only for the blonde boy to stop her.

"Let me handle this." He said. "I know how he gets when he's upset.

Star watched him climb down from the window and chase after his brother, the girl from another dimension watching with a sad expression, the laser eye puppies at her feet watching with equally sad expressions as the girl whimpered, wanting to do something to remedy things, but nothing came to mind. She walked away from the window, then rushed back with a whimper, still unsure.

Night had fallen, as Marco stood outside the Stop & Slurp, still being rained on by the rain cloud over his head, but thankfully the umbrella kept him dry. In addition to the umbrella, he was holding a chocolate bar and a soda cup.

"Here he comes. Here he comes." He mumbled to himself before running up to a civilian that approached the store. "Hey, brother, do me a solid! Refill this for me!"

The scared civilian ran inside the store to get away from Marco.

"They won't let me back inside because I won't stop leaking!" He yelled before noticing a mother and her son come out of the store. "Did you bring me my refill?!"

"Don't make eye contact." The mother told her son before they quickly walked away.

Already frustrated, Marco noisily chewed on a bar of chocolate with aggression.

"You come to my house, you bring toilet paper!" He yelled before turning around, jumping in fright at his brother who had approached when he wasn't looking. "Wa-ha! Whoa! What are you doing here?"

"To check on you, obviously." Richard said, offering a towel. "And to implore you to give Star a chance."

"Implore me?!" Marco said angrily, snatching the towel away. "You always liked using those fancy words like they make you smart!"

"That's not fair to say." Richard frowned. "You never acted like this when I was adopted."

"That's different!" Marco countered. "We grew up together, we're practically brothers! She's a total stranger!"

"Look at things from her perspective." Richard suggested. "It's not like she had any choice coming here."

"It's true."

Once again, Marco jumped with fright, Star having appeared behind him and using her wand's magic to make the rain cloud go away.

"I didn't get a choice about coming here to Earth," She said with a said tone. "and you didn't get a choice about having to deal with me."

Marco's angry expression softened, turning to regretful.

"I'll... I'll find another family to live with." Star said, her face downcast and beginning to water up.

'Man, I feel like a jerk.' Marco thought regretfully before he felt his brother nudge him, giving a look that said 'apologize'.

But just as Marco was about to say something, his eyes widened when he saw something behind her.

"S-S-Star?" He said with a pointed finger.

Star turned around to see a rather large group of monsters of varying sizes before her, all growling and eager for a fight. Standing at the front of the mob was a short, grayish-green bird-like monster. His head was round, having some bumps and warts on it. He had yellow eyes, and a dark gray beak with sharp white fangs. On top of his head was a light blue patch with a gray fringe of hair circling it. His body was very skinny and boney. He wore a mossy green cloak and an unidentified creature's skull on his head like a crown.

"Star Butterfly! At last, I've found you!" The small creature declared.

"Ludo! How did you know I was here?" Star demanded.

Ludo chuckled in response. "Wouldn't you like to know?"

"Yes. That's why I asked." Star said a-matter-of-factly.

For a moment, Ludo seemed to forget that he was talking to his nemesis before answering, "Well, Buff Frog—hey!" He snapped, remembering where he was. "I don't have to tell you anything!" He then took notice of Richard before leaning over to Buff Frog. "That's the other Mewman you mentioned?"

"Yes, my master." Buff Frog nodded.

Confused, Richard leaned over to Star. "What's he talking about?" He asked in a whisper.

Star only shrugged; unsure what Ludo was referring to.

"Eh, not important." Ludo shrugged before shouting his command. "Get her!"

The minions of Ludo roared before charging in, Star preparing herself before the two brothers jumped in front, Marco taking a stance that resembled a Tang Soo Do fight, while Richard took the stance of a kick boxer. Marco made the first move, letting out a battle cry before dropping a three-eyed minion with a punch to the gut, followed by an axe kick to the head. Richard made the next move, delivering a three-punch combo to the torso of a minotaur minion, then delivered a side kick to the minotaur's side, then a second kick to its head, sending it to the ground.

Star let out a laugh, amazed by the brothers' skills. "You two can fight?!"

"It's called... karate!" Marco declared, dropping a Bearicorn with a cross chop.

Richard weaved around several punches from Lobster Claws before delivering a reverse side kick to the head. "And I do kick boxing!" He then kicked Beard Deer in the stomach, making him drop his hammer which bonked him on the head.

Watching the scene, Ludo was utterly flabbergasted. Star, he could understand, but these two random boys, one human and the other possibly Mewman?

"You said she was unguarded!" He yelled at Buff Frog.

The minion only gave a confused grunt.

Three-eyed Potato Baby was sent flying from an uppercut from Richard, Star hitting Beard Deer with a blast of water.

Marco let out a karate yell, attempting to hit a two headed monster with a karate chop, only to miss the heads. The minion growled before Marco started punching the two head repeatedly.

Star jumped behind a giraffe-headed minion. "Rainbow Fist Punch!" She aimed her wand, firing a rainbow-colored fist to knock the giraffe minion through a car window. While fighting the first three-eyed minion, Marco opened the car's driver side door, and the giraffe minion's neck stretched to knock the three-eyed minion out.

Richard knocked a minion over with a right hook, and it whinnied in pain like a horse. Marco and Star jumped next to him, and they smiled at each other as Marco karate-chopped the two-headed minion and Star blasted Buff Frog back, Ludo jumping out of the way as his minion is slammed into a streetlight.

"You're embarrassing me!" Ludo snapped, walking to his downed minion. "Get up!"

Determined, Buff Frog got up and broke the streetlight off its base, wielding it as a club as he charged in with a roar.

"Jellybean Hallucination Mist!"

Star blasted Buff Frog with a magic hallucinating mist, and he started seeing things that made it like he was on some high-end drugs, seeing raining jellybeans and faces on his hands.

"Whoa... what is happening?" He said, stoned out of his mind.

Three-eyed Potato Baby and Big Chicken punched Star and Marco to the ground, Star losing her grip on her wand as it was sent flying from her hand.

"Finally!" Ludo exclaimed with glee, running and reaching out as the wand fell closer to him.

"No!" Richard cried out, reaching out.

Suddenly, the wand stopped falling before suddenly flying in Richard's direction, Ludo looking on in horror as the boy caught it, Richard looking in confusion. Suddenly, the wand started glowing a bright golden color, two spots on his cheeks glowing the same color before taking the form of the endless knots.

Star looked at him in surprise and awe, seeing the endless knots on his cheeks.

"No way." She said. "You're a Mewman too?!"

The wand released a magic orb, said orb taking the form of a sword and shield, the cross guard of the sword taking the form of a pair of wings pointed upwards and the shield having a symbol of a golden sword pointed downward and a pair of wings spread out and sprouting from the blade, Richard taking the weapons as the wand returned to normal.

"Whoa." He uttered, amazed by the look of the weapons he was holding.

Panicking, Ludo turned to his minions. "What are you laying around for? Get him!"

Seeing the minions charging, Richard quickly threw the wand to Star before taking a stance and holding the shield out before him, and when the first minion got close, he slammed the monster in the front with his shield, the weapon releasing a force of energy and sending the minion rolling into the group, knocking them down like bowling pins. The next one, a minotaur monster carrying a sword drew his weapon and charged, Richard raising his sword to block before twisting it and flicking up, knocking the monster's weapon away, giving him an opening to knock him away with the force of his shield, sending the creature flying.

Getting up, Marco knocked Three-eyed Potato Baby and Big Chicken with a jumping chop and kick, Star picking up her wand and preparing another spell, this one to end the fight.

"Mega... Narwhal Blast!"

She fired out an army of narwhals, completely taking down all the minions, leaving them beaten, battered, and all groaning in pain.

Ludo looked on in complete surprise, taken aback by the sudden turn of events, then his expression turned to that of displeasure.

"You want some of this, Ludo?" Star asked mockingly, towering over him with confidence.

"No..." He sighed in defeat before taking out a pair of dimensional scissors, this pair being light gray with horns on the handle. "You see, you morons?! This is what happens when you don't work out! Your muscles are like pudding!" He yelled as he stepped away from the princess and opening a dark portal with the scissors. "Come on, back in the portal, back in the portal."

The minions, groaning and covered in bruises, shuffled through the portal, one by one.

"You even retreat like losers!"

Buff Frog was the last one to enter, still hallucinating. "I'm freaking out...!"

Ludo entered the portal last, his head still sticking out to address Star one last time.

"I'll get you, Star Butterf—!" Suddenly, the portal closed on his neck, choking him before he pulled his head in at the last second, leaving behind his skull crown.

Marco was over the moon, clearly happy from the events that had occurred. "That was amazing! I was amazing!" He declared as Star and Richard approached. "You were amazing!" He noticed the marks on Richard's cheeks. "Whoa, when did those show up?"

"When I took hold of the wand." The platinum-blonde boy responded. "When I got my weapons…"

Suddenly, the shield and sword started glowing before shrinking down and fusing together. When they stopped shining, the weapons had become a small golden gemstone, landing in the palm on his hand.

"I have so many questions." He said.

"But dude, this is awesome!" Marco exclaimed. "We kicked serious butt!"

"Yeah. I guess we did." Star said before her expression saddened. "...Well... I should probably go pack my bags."

Star then turned and started walking away sadly. Marco looking after her, turning to his brother who gave a knowing look before the Hispanic boy turned back and went after her.

"Wait! I don't want you to go." He said, placing a hand on her shoulder. "I want you to stay with us."

Star turned to him, her eyes big and sparkling. "Really?!"

"Absolutely." Richard nodded, walking up to them. "Plus, I'd like to know more about…all of this." He moved a hand over his face, gesturing to the endless knots on his cheeks.

Star gave a toothy smile before exclaiming, "Hugs!" Then pulled the brothers into a hug.

The brothers returned the hug and smiled, the trio beginning their walk home.

"Will you tell me more about Mewni?" Richard asked politely.

"I'd be more than happy to!" Star smiled.

"Are there gonna be monsters attacking us all the time?" Marco asked with excitement, doing some karate moves.

"Yeah, probably." Star said.

"All right! Sounds so dangerous!" Marco said as they approached the street before he stopped his brother and friend. "Whoa! Let's cross at the light."

"Okay, 'wild man'." Star chuckled.

"And maybe you can help fix up Marco's room, as a consolation." Richard suggested.

"I can do that!" Star said.

Richard had so many questions in his head, more specifically the questions revolving around who he really is and where he came from. Questions about Mewni.

Questions about his family.

Putting those thoughts to the side for now, he was content with retiring for the night and saving those questions for another time.

And with his friends by his side, he was certain he would find those answers.

And here we are, the start of the Last Knight! So, I've started watching Star vs, as well as watching it with my sister, and so far, I'm enjoying it! I've got ideas forming, and I hope you look forward to more! And of course, suggestions are welcome!
