PRELUDE

MIKE WAKES UP

Mike wakes up in his dark room, just like any other day, but this time is gonna be different for him.

The alarm rings on his ears, the clock displaying 6 in the morning, he hates having to wake up early, but he had no other choice.

Mike reaches out his arm slowly towards the "dismiss" button.

Finally silence once again... Mike stares at his ceiling fan, just wishing he could not get out of bed... but the consequences are far too great to ignore them.

Mike gathers all his strength to pull out the blanket to the side, exposing his body to the cool morning air. He then gets up and goes to the bathroom, he doesn't even bother to put pants on.

Mike slowly walks towards the sink, he turns on the water and puts his palms together, drinking from them the tap water.

Then spits out the water, but to your surprise, not just water... it was a mixture of water and blood... and somehow this didn't surprise mike, he stared for a moment and just simply said:

-must be 'cause i didn't floss yesterday-

So mike opens the mirror cabinet to grab his toothbrush and paste, the cabinet closes itself revealing what our protagonists looks like.

Dark textured quiff hair, brown eyes that lost any trace of joy months ago, a long face with a small mouth and his cheekbones popping out... and that damn stupid curved nose that he had for years due to a childhood injury, which only served to fuel his hatred to himself even more.

Mike Breathes in and out, remembering what the doctor said about his anger issues.

Once he's calm again, he makes sure to floss this time and then takes off his shirt to jump in the shower.

10 minutes is the time he spends in there, wobbling from side to side, letting the ever so gentle and warm water hit every spot of his body.

But now comes the worst part of getting out of the water; the freezing air when the shower turns off. It is unpleasant as always but mike toughens up and dries himself to the best of his abilities while his body is freezing.

Mike now walks downstairs wearing his "iconic" skin colored bathrobe.

(not sure "skin" is the appropriate term for him since not every part of mike is the same color)

Once his eyes land on the front door he remembers:

-right... the package-

He then walks over to the door and opens it... sure enough there was a package waiting outside addressed to his name.

Mike picks it up and takes it towards his closet.

In there, mike proceeds to open it up, and inside was the signature AU Academy uniform neatly folded.

Mike took out the gray coat out of the box and held it in the air... it was the first time he's ever had an uniform in his hands, while it was exiting at first, the excitement turned into anger rapidly.

That's when an imaginary copy of mike appears behind him, something only he seems to be aware of... something only his eyes can witness.

-...why... why do i have to do this?... why does this happen to me?... this is so unfair... from now on I'll have to wake up time, be there on time, do my homework on time and all just because the world hates me?...-

-...how unfair...-

Said the imaginary copy of mike, who seems to represent his internal thoughts and says them out loud for your viewing pleasure.

Mike gripped the coat harder and harder, feeling his eyes water in anger.

He puts down the coat down and wipes his eyes, taking a moment to calm himself.

With no more words said, he takes out the uniform pieces one by one and puts them on, each one feeling like they don't belong in there for him.

After he's fully dressed, he looks himself in the mirror, not an expression on his face.

-so this is what it feels like?- he asked to himself.

In the kitchen, mike makes french toast and takes a grape fruit box out of the fridge.

As he's eating, he calls an uber on his phone... minutes later the uber arrives, and mike gets on while still sipping on his juice.

On the way to the academy, Mike's gaze is stuck on the scrolling landscape of Musutafu city, suffering in silence, thinking of what could've been if he just wasn't at... well, it's pointless now to think of alternate realities where something didn't happen... Finally, the uber stops at hell's gates and mike steps out of the car.

He looks up at the Main entrance with the UA logo and the big building with the four glass towers "towering" over him, there are some students already gather up at the entrance and everything.

By the looks of it they're not use to seeing someone pull up to the school in an uber, but Mike couldn't care less of what they think or say now.

Only one thing on his mind.

The imaginary copy of mike once again says mike's thoughts, and they read:

-as much as i hate this... i'm kind of curious-

CHAPTER I

Forced into action

April 3rd, 2022.
It's the first day of high school.

Many kids worked really hard to get accepted into this academy.

They studied their asses off; they used their quirks to the best of their abilities, all so one day they can finally fulfill their dreams of becoming a real hero like the #1 pro-hero, All-Might.

And Mike?

He entered without even giving the entrance exam... He just got told, "Hey, go here every day, and if you don't..."

let's just say something bad is bound to happen his way if he doesn't attend this school... like it or not.

Mike walked towards the big gate of UA Academy, his eyes still dead as usual... though there was a little flame of curiosity that couldn't be denied. Just looking at the size of the massive 4 glass towers made him question if this place wasn't so bad as he thought.

Whoever put Mike into this school must have been really lucky, considering it's the first day, right after everyone already took the entrance exam. More lucky is Mike since he didn't have to do anything, or unlucky if you see it in his perspective.

The students that were gathered at the entrance were chatting with their friends, and some also noticed Mike. They had their eyes on him, and a few glanced at him then whispered, but Mike couldn't make out what they said.

Despite the attention, most of the students were too focused on their conversations to pay him any mind.

Once mike had entered the school, the atmosphere of the place is rather... warm, the good smell of clean floors entering his nostrils. A couple of students are already in the hallways, chattering among each other about hero stuff and what not.

Mike could either try to talk to them or head straight to the classroom himself... guess which one he chose.

Don't ask how he knows this, but Mike can feel eyes on him; it's just something he can feel, the looks of those with no right to prejudice, judgment he can do nothing about but put up with.

Mike clearly wasn't born in Japan; that was evident on his facial features. A couple of kids thought he might actually be an exchange student from overseas and not someone who was raised here; he could tell because their whispers weren't too quiet.

He hears different whispers about him being a transfer student. Some of the students were speculating about his home country based on his features and the way he walked. They thought he could be from Europe or America. It seemed like the students were trying to put Mike into a box without knowing anything about him.

The copy of Mike said his thoughts for the audience again.

-Look at them, staring and shit... thinking I'm some kind of foreign man. Little do they know I couldn't give less of a shit about what anyone thinks right now... just like my place of birth, I didn't choose to be here... if I could... I would gauge their eyes so they never stare again-

Even so, Mike's face didn't change. He paid no attention to the murmurs and whispers. It's not like it was the first time anyway; Mike was born with those looks, so he's gotten used to them at this point...

As mike was too busy ignoring everyone, he accidentally bumps into one of the teachers at the U.A.

The teacher stumbles a bit from the unexpected collision; he then turns around to face Mike.

The teacher raises an eyebrow in both annoyance and curiosity. He couldn't help but look at him with a bit of skepticism.

Mike looked at him back; he was tall, he was slim, he wore black, he had a weird, funny hairstyle...

It was present mic basically, and he seemed annoyed.

-Watch it, kiddo, don't just go bumpin' into people like that!- Mic scolded, annoyed.

-oh please... you could've hurt someone's eyes looking like that- said the copy of mike.

Mic looked closely at the student who ran into him. He didn't look like a Japanese kid... or any other Asian kid, for that matter.

-Say... you don't look like you're from 'round here, kid... are you some kind of "exchange student" or something?- Mic asked.

-1. It's the first day, dumbass; everyone's new here. 2. What the fuck do you even care? I've had enough with people just staring at me as it is- The copy of Mike said snarly.

Mike thought this was a perfect time to pull a joke on this joke of a hero, and he nodded in agreement.

-Huh... Reaaaally?... hmmm... ok~, where are you from then?- Mic asked in doubt.

Mike knew if he talked, his Japanese accent would destroy his little prank, so he tried to fake a british accent.

Mike then speaks, his voice deep and gentle, but at the same time you can hear a faint high pitched voice, fitting for a mysterious young man.

-En-gl-and?-

-Egl…and... hm? Oh! You must be from England, eh? Tell me, does everyone there have a horrible accent like you?- Mic then proceeded to chuckle thanks to his bad impression of a bri 'ish person, covering his mouth in the process.

The little amusement Mike had left him when he heard the teacher chuckle.

Once Mic stopped his cackling, he bent over, lowered his glasses and gave Mike a dark look.

-Don't think you can buy me with that "exchange student" bullshit-

Mic's thought process was that he already knew the kind of people like Mike; hell, he even works with one, so by showing him who's boss around here, he'll start to be less like that. It ended up not working.

Mike felt somewhat intimidated, but it was more the sudden mood swing rather than Mic actually being able to give fear.

-And? You think I care? I don't care... not one bit-

-You act like you're some kind of big authority around here. Have you looked at yourself? Who would actually take you seriously looking like that? I know I don't-

-If you want to cause me problems, then be my guest. Like I said, I don't care... what you do or say, I have nothing to lose anyway-

Mike said with a dark look of his own, he will never let other people overpower him.

Present Mic glared at Mike, his expression hardening at his words and attitude.

-Oh, I see how it is. You think you're tough, don't you? Well, let me tell you something, pal. I'm a pro-hero, and I won't tolerate any disrespect coming my way from a brat like YOU!-

He took a step closer to Mike, looming over him intimidatingly.

-I may look funny, but I've taken down plenty of villains twice your size. And I ain't gonna let some "foreigner" talk to me like that-

They both stared at each other, each occurred second, making Mic sweat more and more, yet he doesn't know why... How is this kid less than half his age making him sweat like that? It's just something about that 1000-mile stare, and not knowing just makes him sweat even more...

And Mike? not a single visible drop on his face. Mic stood up straight again, then put his hand on Mike's shoulder followed by Mic getting behind him to wrap his arm around Mike's neck.

-Relax, kiddo! I know you're just pulling my leg here! Come on, lighten up, pal! Life's not all gloomy, you know?!-

He said with a big dumb grin, shouting as he always does.

Mic lets go of him and says.

-Well, I've got to get back to work!- he says as he walks away, marching in big goofy steps.

-Make sure you don't pull too many pranks on others, okay?!- He says in the distance.

Once Mic far enough away, he says to himself:

-Whew, I saved it there. One more second, and it might've turned serious... just what the hell was that all about? I really could use some tea right now...-

In that little encounter, Mic's heart was beating very fast; he felt that something was very wrong with that kid. It was like there was something unnatural about him, something that gave Mic shivers, but he just couldn't put his finger on it.

When he left Mike behind, he finally let out a sigh of relief, still feeling a bit uneasy about what just happened. He went to the teacher's room to make himself a cup of tea, trying to calm himself down and shake off the weird feeling.

Mike stared as he walked away. Did this grown man really think he was messing with him? And that acting like a dumbass would make him think it was all fun and games? Pfft, please...

-ok?... sure... coward-

As soon as Mike was alone again, he continued on his way to find the classroom... and he just knew he would get lost.

As he continues to walk down the hallway, he can feel people staring at and watching him as he walks through the hallway.

-You know this is getting annoying; where do I even need to go anyway?-

Mike tried to remember what they told him about the classroom system in Japan, but he just couldn't care less about something he'll never be in, but now that he's in a school, he's as lost as a fish in a forest.

At this point, Mike just didn't care what his class was; he just needed to be inside somewhere away from these peasants.

-I hate to admit this, but... I need someone to take me to their class-

He looked around for anyone who might be on their way to class. That's when a boy with green hair ran past him; he seems to be in a rush.

-huh... that could work-

Inexplicably, Mike instantly dashes forth and grabs the boy by his collarneck.

-You, kid! Where are you going?- Asked Mike.

The mind of Midoriya Izuku ran wild at the unexpected event.

-(W-w-w-w-what? B-b-but he was just a few feet away from me? A-a-and what does he even want? W-w-why does he look like a foreigner? D-d-did I do something wrong? I just wanted To get to class on time. Why does this have to happen to me? A-a-a-a-and why does he look so menacing?)- He kept thinking to himself.

"I-I-I... I was just on my way to class is all! ... hihi~" He said in a very nervous tone.

-...Ok?, where's your class?- Asked Mike again.

Midoriya hesitated for a moment, still feeling a bit nervous and confused from the sudden pull and question.

-M-m-m-my class? W-well, i-it's... uh... uuuuuuhhhhhhhhh-

Mike crossed his arms just waiting for him to tell.

Midoriya swallowed nervously, trying to compose himself and come up with an answer. His mind was racing, and he was feeling a bit overwhelmed. But he knew he had to give an answer eventually.

-U-u-u-um... m-my class is... uh... 1-A...- He said hesitantly.

-Take me there, and quick...- Mike said in a demanding manner.

-O-OKAY!- Izuku nodded and, without another word, led the way to class 1-A.

After a few minutes of running through halls, they both arrive at a big door with a 1 and an A painted onto it.

-Well, it can't get any more obvious than that. Thanks- Said Mike before entering without hesitation.

Midoriya was panting, trying to catch his breath after the quick run. He could hear the loud chatter and noise coming from inside the classroom, which meant everyone was already there.

He watched as Mike entered the class without even hesitating, not even bothering to knock or anything.

Mike enters, and he's greeted with a very diverse sight: people with all sorts of hairstyles, mutants, and regular people alike. He roughly counts 19 students inside, 20 with the kid that brought him here.

It isn't better than outside since here is more crowded and closed, but at least they're not focused on him.

Mike takes a minute to examine the students while Izuku seems to be having a conversation with a girl outside... Some of the students were already staring at Mike; others were just minding their own business.

-Remove your foot from the desk! Such an action is disrespectful to those who sat there before you and to the craftsmen who made the desk!-

-Like I care! What middle school are you from, EXTRA?-

Mike overhears someone getting yelled at; another person who doesn't care? Perhaps they are here against their will too?

He turned around to see who they were.

Never mind, once he turns around he sees a student with spikey blonde hair and a mean look on his face, sitting lazily on his chair behind a desk with his feet propped up on top. The student's attitude and words seemed to indicate a sort of superiority complex, treating others with disdain, he's even got a giant big smirk too; he's clearly not here against their will.

The other 4 eyes kid, or "soldier guy" as Mike called him, looked very disciplined and serious. He had a stern look on his face, and he seemed to be the kind of person who took everything seriously.

He had a strict and no-nonsense attitude, and clearly he didn't appreciate the spiky-haired guy's lack of respect for the school property.

Mike will forget about those two for now; what he needs is a desk of his own, so he thinks.

He walks around the room checking if there were any desks open, but to no avail; it seemed that all the desks were taken...

Mike thinks deeply, decides to count the number of desks inside the classroom.

-4, 8, 12, 16, 20...-

Mike double checks again the amount of students present here.

-4, 8, 12, 16, 20...-

This can only mean one thing...

-...I'm not supposed to be here... oh well-

Mike looked around for the kid that brought him here, he found him already sitting down and came up to him again.

-Hey kid, do you know of any other classrooms close here?-

Midoriya was caught off guard when Mike approached him again, he didn't expect to be asked another question. He looked up at him with a puzzled expression, wondering what it was Mike wanted now.

-Uhm... um... y-yeah, there are s-some other classrooms close by... w-why?-

He replied nervously.

-where?- Mike asked again.

-W-well, the nearest classrooms are this way...- he said pointing to a hallway on the right.

-neat- Mike then tosses him his handbag.

-Keep it safe while I go fetch me a desk, would you?-

Mike didn't even let him respond before he turned around and exited the classroom.

Midoriya was caught off guard once again; he wasn't expecting Mike to suddenly toss his bag to him, let alone ask him to keep it safe. He watched speechless as Mike left the class without even giving him a chance to respond.

And so, he was now left holding Mike's bag, wondering what he was supposed to do with it.

Bakugo, the kid that was being yelled at by Iida, the guy who was yelling at Bakugo, had been watching the entire scene unfold, and he couldn't help but feel a bit puzzled. He had never seen anyone willingly interact with Midoriya before, let alone a guy like Mike, a guy who seemed to have a confident and cool attitude, very different from how the other kids would act.

-What's the meaning of this? Since when did that damn nerd find someone to hang out with? What in the actual hell?- He muttered under his breath.

About four minutes after, Mike is on his way back to the class, the desk over his shoulder and the chair in his other hand.

-It was this way, right? Orrrrrr was it that way... No, I recognize the stain on the window in the shape of a seal; it's here-

Once he got back, the homeroom teacher, Aizawa, was already inside and about to speak before Mike came in with a desk on his shoulder. Aizawa and the class were just silently staring at him, bringing in a desk out of nowhere. Mike returns the gaze for a moment before taking the desk to the very back of the room since there was no space for him at the front.

The others are somewhat amused and slightly confused by the action Mike just did. Aizawa just stands there in front of the class watching and wordless.

Aizawa watched as Mike placed the desk down with a loud thud, then he sat on the chair and sighed, clearly feeling a bit relieved. He wasn't sure how to react to the boy, but he couldn't deny that he had a certain presence about him.

The rest of the class continued to whisper and gossip amongst themselves, all wondering who this new student was and why he had just showed up out of nowhere.

-Quiet down!... everyone-

Aizawa's deep and commanding voice echoed through the room, silencing the chatter of the students.

Everyone's attention was now focused on Aizawa, and they all fell quiet, waiting for him to speak.

-Like i was about to say... Im your homeroom teacher Aizawa... pleasure to meet 'cha-

At first glance, this teacher not only seemed wierd from the start, he also looked like don't like making friends, none wanted to say a thing as to no interrupt him.

Then Aizawa pulls out a P.E. uniform from his sleeping bag.

-I believe you hadn't wore these before... since time is a precious resource, we shall not waste anymore. Grab yours and meet me outside on the out grounds-

As Aizawa leaves, some students look confused and some others excited as to what is to come.

Eventually everyone leaves to the lockers, mike being the last one to exit the classroom.

While the boys on the lockers are changing, their gaze naturally lands on Mike's torso.

It was pure black, nobody couldn't notice it before because mike's head, hands and feet were regular white color, but everything else was black, almost like ink was just straight up injected onto his skin.

They were kinda of surprised yeah, but considering there's a girls who's literally all pink they kinda just brushed it off.

-(Should we say something?)- Asked Kirishima to Sato in a whispering voice.

-(Maybe it's just part of his quirk)- He responded back in the same whisper.

-(Kinda reminds me of that pink girl with the black eyes)-

-(You're right, maybe it's the same quirk?)-

After everyone gathers at the training field, Aizawa says the kinds of test the students will be taking.

APPREHENSION QUIRK TEST

Everyone's in shock, they didn't expect a test right on the first day.

-What about the entrance ceremony? or guidance sessions?- Exclaimed Uraraka.

-Waste of time... you wanna become heroes right?- Aizawa responded.

Then Aizawa proceeds to say:

-You all understand the school's reputation for freedom on campus right? Well that "Freedom" goes for us teachers, too-

Aizawa list all the types of activities they will perform on the test such as:

*Softball pitch* *Standing long jump* *50-meter dash* *Endurance running* *Grip strength test* *Sustained sideways jumps* *Upper-body exercises* *seated toe-touch*

-All of these you already did in middle school, correct? all of these that you were banned from using your quirks- Said Aizawa.

They all nodded, remembering those times of how they thought if they just could have used their quirks it would've made their score even if a little higher.
Mike's yet to have experienced that.

-Bakugo! How far could you pitch a softball in middle school?- Aizawa asks.

-67 meters- He just says.

Aizawa asks him once again
-Try using your quirk this time, as long as you don't exit the circle everything is fine-

Bakugou is ready to pitch the ball, and with the help of his quirk, BOOM!

He launches the ball 705 meters away into the air while shouting "DIE".

Some students cheer while Mike takes note of Bakugou's quirk.

The explosion leaves a gust of wind blowing dirt all around; everyone looks at the sky where the ball had disappeared, even Mike and his imaginary copy, which said:

-So not only is he a jerk, he's also a showoff, huh?-

The rest of the class was amazed by how far Bakugo had just sent that ball; they were all in awe at just how much power he had with that one explosion.

-It is important to know your limits; that's the first step to knowing the kind of hero you want to be- Aizawa says as he shows everyone a counting device that shows the ball traveled 705.2 meters.

-700 meters?! That's awesome!-

-So can we really use our quirks here? This hero course is awesome!-

-...awesome? You say it's awesome?- Said Aizawa with not so much excitement.

The students immediately stop cheering and remain silent, unsure of what to say to respond to the teacher's tone.

-3 years... 3 years is the time you'll be spending here, and you're thinking that those 3 years are gonna be all fun and games?- Aizawa asked, not expecting an answer.

-In that case... new rule: The student with the least points will end up deemed "useless" and be immediately expelled-

The students go wide eyed with alarm at the words. Even mike hadn't expected such

boldness from a teacher, yet still, just by looking at him, he could've saw it coming.

-Welcome to the hero course at U.A. High school! ... Your fates are in our hands-

Aizawa proceeds to yell.

Mike shrinks his vision, thinking how on earth he will be able to tolerate such guy for the rest of his days at U.A.

Thankfully, he already had 12 years worth of training with his quirk. Hopefully he won't end up last.
