Sirius was well aware that on that fateful night, he would die.
In reality it would have been much worse, his soul would have been torn away without restraint, leaving him as a mere empty shell. It must have been sad to be an empty shell, devoid of life…Fate however had other plans for him.
His godson and his friend, riding a strange and at times menacing winged creature, had swooped down on his prison atop one of the castle towers, freeing him.
"My time hasn't come yet, has it?"
The man, more bone than flesh, knew he would have to continue living on the run as a fugitive for quite some time yet. The young man asked if he could come with him but Sirius declined, he could not let the only family he had left risk any more.
"Sirius..." before he could ride off on his feathered steed, the young man grabbed his right arm sleeve, holding him back. "I want to come with you. I can't go back there. I need you... I beg you."
Sirius found himself looking at his godson, the spitting image of James, his best friend, and yet it felt like he was looking in a mirror.
The messy hair, the unkempt appearance, the neglected physique... what was different were his eyes. An intense, vivid green, brilliant as an emerald, a color so alive that it seemed to penetrate your soul.
'I need you...I beg you.'
Sirius Black laughed, laughed like a madman. A full, contemptuous laugh, a cold laugh like that night, he really did seem like the fearsome wanted man on the posters. Carrying your godson around as a wanted fugitive wasn't the most responsible thing in the world... but Sirius Black had never been responsible.
He looked at him, grinning like a fool. "Then come away with me, Harry!" A few moments later, he was hit by a strong, rib-breaking hug from the young man, who could barely contain his emotions.
Harry let go and wiped his wet eyes with the sleeve of his sweatshirt. He turned to his friend with the thick, curly brown hair and held out his hand.
The olive-skinned girl's hazel eyes widened, surprised by the sudden request. "You...you want me to come with you?"
"Hermione, without your help I would never have been able to save my only family. Come with us!"
Sirius decided to lend a helping hand to the boy and gave him a firm pat on the shoulder.
"Miss, you don't want to miss out on a wild adventure with your best friend, do you?" He playfully tugged at his godson, making him laugh.
Hermione seemed to think about it, biting her thumbnail indecisively. Time was running out and she had never understood the importance and value of that concept like this year.
What would her parents have said? What about Ron? What if she had been expelled? What would the teachers have said? Would she have become a wanted criminal too? What about Harry? Harry...
'Cape diem. ' she repeated to herself and without hesitation, she took her friend's hand and threw herself into his arms.
Together, the unexpected trio climbed aboard that unusual steed, flying away from the castle, unaware of the future that awaited them but certain that, together, they could get through any situation...
...or at least, so they thought ...

In a dark and remote corner of the depths of the earth, hidden from prying eyes, a mysterious figure wrapped in a great azure cloak was stirring a large puddle of water in front of his feet, moistened by the earth, with a stick as gnarled as his hands.
It shuffled clockwise and counterclockwise inside the only light source in that place.
He took some mysterious powders from his cloak pouch in a bag and threw a handful into that pool.
He stopped spinning and several seconds later something appeared in that body of water.
The image showed a hideous wounded mouse running desperately, as if his life depended on it, searching for a place his master had once told him about…
The mysterious figure laughed in a harsh, hoarse voice, running the fingers of his bony hand through his long, smooth silver beard.
"Pathetic, truly pathetic..." The figure expected this to happen sooner or later.
The crystalline pool boiled, suddenly changing its image and this slightly awakened the mysterious figure.
The image was confusing, hasty...
The black grim was wandering purposefully in a thick dark forest, drool foaming at the mouth, ready to take revenge. He was seething with rage, ready to bite the one who had taken away the person dearest to him while threatening hands tried to grab him...
The image changed again and this time it showed the body of a young girl. Her long, curly hair covered her nakedness, as she was floating flat on her back in an ocean full of broken clock hands and misshapen watches.
The image changed and this time it showed a young boy with hair as black as a dark and gloomy night and eyes so green and alive that they seemed as bright as stars.
He had a lightning bolt-shaped scar on his forehead. Soon, numerous and disturbing scars formed all over his body, much larger and deeper.
Suddenly, those scars shone with a blinding azure light.
He screamed until his eyes went completely white.
The puddle bubbled with light and returned to normal, erasing that last vision as well.
The mysterious figure remained absorbed in his thoughts for a few interminable seconds until an evil smile spread across his face...

AN: Hello everyone! This is my first long story with Harmony as the main pairing. The inspiration came from a prompt in a subreddit: Harry and Hermione run away with Sirius, creating a new divergence from the canon. This story wants to be a sequel to POA without having elements and plot pieces from GOF, telling about this strange trio and the romantic relationship that will develop between Harry and Hermione. It is a canon divergence/au with new situations, new narrative events and a new antagonist!
I can't give a specific deadline for the chapters, I'll just try not to make you wait too long!
